It still really appeals to me in terms of bringing everything into a single pane of glass and that is why you see so many major MNCs like Infosys, Dell, Accenture etc. rely on it. The biggest selling point is ease of access across environments. The interface feels a little snappier for everyday navigation of late and the cross-platform integration is still incredibly smooth. The system tends to choke when everyone jumps in at once. Not sure if this is a bottleneck in our own localized infrastructure or a native limitation in the application's architecture itself, but this definitely is an area that needs attention in terms of optimizing resources to handle high-concurrency loads. I use Progress ShareFile for document sharing and file collaboration. I appreciate that it offers HIPAA-compliant secure file storage. It's easy for clients to use, which is great for my work. It would be great to be able to drag and drop files to a new folder or have an easy way to copy into the same folder. The best thing about this platform is that it goes beyond basic file sharing; it gives my cross-functional team a very secure and fine-structured way to share files, collect documents, manage tasks, and create workflows across different platforms. Their client portal experience is very effective in helping clients, and lets us know where to sign and validate it in a very secure way, rather than relying on scattered email threads. Though this file is very powerful, those features are overly packed compared to what's needed to share the files. Some of their complex workflows and automation capabilities are hidden under the bigger tier plans. For smaller teams, it's a bit difficult to cope with this platform. I appreciate how seriously ShareFile Virtual Data Room treats data protection, offering strong encryption, granular permission controls, and customizable access levels. I feel confident that sensitive documents stay confidential with features like view-only modes and dynamic watermarks. Role-based permissions are a big part of why ShareFile Virtual Data Room feels trustworthy and practical. I also love that the dynamic watermarks automatically embed the viewer's identity, which encourages safe sharing. The initial setup was quick and easy. Account provisioning and basic configuration were fast, and we could create the data room, folder structure, and user groups within a short time. Pricing feels on the higher side, especially for startups or smaller deal teams. Some advanced VDR features are locked behind higher tiers, making it hard to justify for short-term or one-off projects. We sometimes have to be selective about when to use the VDR versus lighter tools for less sensitive work. 2. There are a few other areas where ShareFile Virtual Data Room doesn’t fully meet our expectations, especially when we compare it with newer or more specialized VDR platforms.
