It is fairly easy to install & configure. Allows to send or request big files with others. Has software/plugin for Outlook, mobile devices, etc. Can sync content too. File transfer is quite fast. Allows for customizing the look & feel of the application to some extent. **What do you dislike about Progress ShareFile?** Configuring high availability for Citrix ShareFile is an issue. Atleast we faced it. Would have liked if there was more relaxed option for customizing look and feel of the product interface from end user's perspective. **Recommendations to others considering Progress ShareFile:** If in the market looking for a quality secure managed file transfer product backed by qualified support personnel, then Citrix ShareFile is the solution. You can opt for either Cloud based storage or On-Premises based. **What problems is Progress ShareFile solving and how is that benefiting you?** Sending & received huge files securely and quickly. Centrally managing this service with the ability to access the services from various devices and platforms. This service has eased the issue of securely sharing information with partners and consultants. ### 2. Unlimited storage, free access to RightSignature e-signature, secure/encrypted email module for Outlook. What more could I want? The price started at $17.50 per user per month and hasn't changed in 4 years. I absolutely love their ShareFile Migration Tool for mass uploading files from our network to the cloud. It works flawlessly, and I use it regularly. This tool is a godsend because uploading more than a few files through the web browser or other tools is problematic. We've used it as an FTP server with great success. Employees can use FileZilla to retrieve or send files, and we've baked in FTP to some web apps that transfer directly to user folders. And the Request Files (file drop) is another amazing Outlook add-in tool. It allows me to email a link so that a recipient can open and just drop files into that ultimately show up in my ShareFile folder. **What do you dislike about Progress ShareFile?** At the time I write this review, there are only 48% five star reviews and 34% four star. In my opinion, there is a reason reviews are so bad. My company has used ShareFile since 2017 before Citrix completely changed its business approach. Ah, the good old days when ShareFile was fast and support was easily accessible. - Very high latency to the ShareFile cloud, whether via browser or Citrix Files app. Takes many seconds or minutes to populate file folders - Navigating user folders in any web browser is painfully slow - Frequent outages (subscribe to their status.sharefile.com and you'll be aware of every outage, every freakin time) - Citrix Files app does not refresh content in a timely manner. Five or 20 minute wait times for content to refresh, sadly, is normal. - Slow sync using Citrix Files - Offline cache mode is problematic - Offshore support staff And we have 50M/50M dedicated fiber, so yeah, it's not our internet. The Sync tool works well, just like Dropbox's and other competitors. But ShareFile has not updated this tool since 2019 and it's slated for End of Life status in Dec 2021. https://www.citrix.com/blogs/2020/12/22/announcing-built-in-sync-to-citrix-files-migration Early on, there were two of many tools, Sync and Drive Mapper. Sync simply did what it's supposed to. The Drive Mapper was a live connection to cloud content, useful for directly accessing cloud folders instead of using the web browser. They got the bright idea to merge the two into Citrix Files using Offline Cache. Great idea, but its implementation sucks. Files are cached in some undisclosed location on your computer while you're at its mercy to sync whenever it wants. At a minimum, you must wait 2 minutes to sync even a tiny 10 Kb spreadsheet. At least the Sync tool, and even Dropbox sync, updates instantaneously. This means you've got a cloud version that's different from your local version. And if you have shared the folder with others, they also have different versions until 2, or 5, or 20 minutes elapses when the sync finally happens for everyone. We've even had workstations that NEVER sync changed files and the ShareFile support staff cannot resolve this. Then they switched to offshore tech support. At least for now the final technician is a native English speaker, but jumping through hoops to create a ticket with very nice, but non-native English speaking phone support is just frustrating. The language barrier is real. The combination of all these unresolved frustrations sounded the death knell for our time with ShareFile. We simply cannot survive all these unresolved issues and retain our sanity. Consequently, after a tumultuous 4-year relationship with ShareFile we've decided to go to a competitor. ShareFile just is not ready or reliable enough for heavy SMB business use. **Recommendations to others considering Progress ShareFile:** It may work for you if you don't mind delayed file access, or just use it as a file dumping ground. But if you are one of those users who needs to open files quickly, and feel like you shouldn't have to wait 60-120 seconds for a file to open and view/edit then look to another product. **What problems is Progress ShareFile solving and how is that benefiting you?** We have cloud storage; that's been a plus. Another big help has been the ability to email encrypted (secure) files through Outlook. This can also be done through their web interface, but hands down using the Citrix Files for Outlook add-in is the bomb. It guarantees that only the original recipient(s) can read the secure message, as it cannot be forwarded. ### 3. For documents we send frequently, I set up reusable templates. When the template needs updating, the import overlay option makes the updating process a breeze. In the settings, you can have RS automatically remind your recipients if they haven't reviewed the document. This has made my follow-up so much easier and I don't have to worry about reminding the recipients over and over. The history tab has been super helpful when tracking the document's progress. I love that you can see when the document has been viewed and it even provides the device type and IP address of the signer/viewer. The multiple signer option has been a timesaver as well. I love that I can set the order of the signer and it will automatically forward to the next person when it's their turn to sign. **What do you dislike about Progress ShareFile?** I would like to see the history section updated to show the actual date and time a document was sent, instead of the general description of "one month ago" or "8 days ago." Right now, you have to hover over the description in order to see the full date and time the document was sent. It would also be helpful to have the option to print the document history (date sent, viewed, signed, etc) in a report. **What problems is Progress ShareFile solving and how is that benefiting you?** We used to struggle with folks who didn't have computers or printers and they struggled to get the signed documents back to our office. RS is mobile compatible and most folks are able to figure out how to easily sign on their phone or other device. It's saved us a ton of extra follow up work and of course endless printed paper. ### 4. Folder operations are effective while working with pruning and grafting activities. File-sharing can also be done by creating a dedicated link with a specific expiration period so that we can do one-off file broadcast sharing. **What do you dislike about Progress ShareFile?** It's slightly lagging while implementing FTP > 10GB using Citrix ShareFile. Apart from this, I like the control that Citrix ShareFile gives me over the user experience and add an extra layer of security to our shared folders by enabling notifications when someone accesses our files. **What problems is Progress ShareFile solving and how is that benefiting you?** Citrix ShareFile is a reliable file-sharing service for providing AWS test scripts, assignments, and code templates for my Trainee associates. It has seamless permissions and is more secure than Dropbox in case you want to share files securely outside your organization. Its user interface is straightforward and doesn't require any prior knowledge to work on it. Its log functionality is effective for tracking logs, and by integrating it with our O365 account, we can effectively use collaborative editing and versioning of files in real-time. Also, it provides a built-in plugin for our Outlook through which we can securely send large files and also expand its email encryption capabilities. ### 5. Wr had one of the best in class systems with all the modern modifications but Citrix still made it lag. At times I forget to upload my new files online but cetrix offer the auto update feature which allows the software to automatically upload all your new files to the cloud. You can use it offline unlike other softwares **What do you dislike about Progress ShareFile?** It is slow when uploading files which is really tiresome specially when uploading large files it requires you to be more patient with it but still it's better than thumb drives **Recommendations to others considering Progress ShareFile:** I find Citrix Sharefile to be the most cheap software on the market and it is easy to use **What problems is Progress ShareFile solving and how is that benefiting you?** I have been using Citrix ShareFile for storing and sharing files with my workmates online, I have noticed that this is the best way for sharing and storing files rather than using external hard drives because it is more secure and safe because you won't need to worry if your documents might get lost or if they might end up in the wrong persons hands. Citrix has made work more easier because now files are now I don't have to worry about making a lot of copies for the same file just to share with a lot of people, I just have to do is to select the ones I want to receive the file and the file is sent. If a file contains a lot of information, it might take some time to upload or open. **What problems is Progress ShareFile solving and how is that benefiting you?** We store historical data for our team, month-end files, and different documents that we cannot store somewhere else. But sometimes it is not a widely used tool all over the world. Stand alone on my laptop...no issues at all, running three monitors sometime I have to go in and reset my screens resolutions. **Recommendations to others considering Progress ShareFile:** If you work from home or work remotely, citrix workspace is a great addition to have. **What problems is Progress ShareFile solving and how is that benefiting you?** Logging into my work remotely working from home. I especially dislike them if you contract with their enterprise team. You have to call them to add a user every time unless you buy extras. Then they start sending you emails that say you haven't paid your bill even if your credit card is on file. You have to call support to resolve it. They send you a very painful payment process that you finally get through, and the next month they send the payment reminder again. So for every user you add, you start getting these emails every month about payment. What in the world? Also the helpdesk is in India which is fine except it's very very hard to understand their English. Very poorly done overall. I am cancelling and will use Sharepoint gong forward. **Recommendations to others considering Progress ShareFile:** Use anything but Sharefile. Google Workspace and Drive are much better. It is very reliable and always seems to work when we need it. So far it has exceeded my expectations, and I've been using it for 6 years. **What problems is Progress ShareFile solving and how is that benefiting you?** We're solving the problem of storage, collaboration, and version control. We benefit financially because we're able to save on time. We can see each other's work in almost real-time when they save and sync a document which has improved our business performance. When you want to add a signature to your documents, you can easily create your digital signature and easily add your signature to the document. It allows us to access our intranet via our mobile devices (ie iPhones and blackberry). It is a lot more convenient to have access to these things when traveling or at home in the weekend. Rather than having to pull out the work laptop during yose times. **What do you dislike about Progress ShareFile?** I do not like the fact that we have to change our passwords so often. I understand that is a safety mechanism, but I think we have to change them every 90 days, and you can not use the same password until after about 6 changes. It can get really difficult to create and remember new password that often. That is really only somehat down fall to the program. **What problems is Progress ShareFile solving and how is that benefiting you?** As I mentioned earlier it is very convenient. As an agency, we do a lot of traveling. So, pulling out your laptop to check email at the airport could be really inconvenient. This program offers the ability to stay in the loop with you business while traveling and saves time as well. This is not ideal for media storage or uploads. I would not use this for media sharing.
