"Locate32: A great tool for those with advanced file finding needs"

What do you like best?

This tool is a great finding I do a few years ago,, I like it because is small, is fast, is very configurable, can be installed or can run on a usb stick without installation, uses very few system resources and isn't a memory eater.

I like so much the fast of the searches, also the so many ways to set it up and that it doesn't works updating the file index every single moment (like Win search do), but better than that, it can be updated on demand or on a scheduled basis.

The search engine supports many options to find exactly the file you need, (filtering by name, extension, size, creation/update dates, and even better, it supports also regular expressions)

What do you dislike?

The only couple of things I dislike on this app is first of all that the developer stopped the development of the project (She open source it on sourceforge) on 2015, but the app now in november 2018 still works very fine on my windows 10 x64.

.

The second thing I don't like is that on large slow 1tb almost full hdd 's it takes about 5 to 10 minutes to update the database.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Don't let the age of this tools scares you, it is a great tool to take with you everytime and everywhere.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

This tool help me to find important files distributed over a large knoledge repository, letting me find fast and easy the exact file I need at the moment.
