## Alfred Reviews
  ### 1. Alfred, a one stop HotKey Repository

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Adithya M. | Business Solutions, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 03, 2023

**What do you like best about Alfred?**

I can easily use hotkeys all over. It is simple, easy and surprisingly efficient.

The categorising of the hotkeys according to particular part of the work is also really useful.

**What do you dislike about Alfred?**

The UI can be a bit more fluidic. I mean, it gets the job done, but I really need the UI to be a bit more nice.
Initially, I had a huge learning curve that sometimes made me feel overwhelmed, but as time went on, I really enjoyed using Alfred for my daily tasks.

**What problems is Alfred solving and how is that benefiting you?**

HotKeys, Using of text expansion is really a life saver for my line of work as I have to draft emails and club several snippets of lines to a single mail draft.

  ### 2. Brilliant program but not the best

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Yuri K. | Software Engineer (Ruby) / SCRUM Master at Profitero, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 02, 2023

**What do you like best about Alfred?**

I love Alfred for its quick app opening and Clipboard Manager—these two features are the best. I also appreciate its integrations with Google Chrome bookmarks, Numi, and Cheat Linux app.

**What do you dislike about Alfred?**

Workflows are complex for me. I've downloaded some examples from the internet, but it looks like it will take me too much time to create one myself. I'm a little bit scared to open this tab.

**What problems is Alfred solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I was looking for a convenient clipboard manager and Alfred solved my problem. I discovered it could solve even more issues with workflows and plugins, however, the community seems to be slow. I haven't found many helpful workflows for it.

  ### 3. Your google search for files

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tanay G. | SAP Consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 06, 2023

**What do you like best about Alfred?**

It allows me to set up custom hotkeys or shortcuts to trigger specific actions or searches. This feature enhances productivity and efficiency by reducing the need for manual clicks or navigation.

**What do you dislike about Alfred?**

It can consume a significant amount of system resources, particularly when running resource-intensive workflows or performing extensive file indexing. Also some features are paid features.

**What problems is Alfred solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Alfred helps me in finding files very quickly and opening them in a giffy which overall enhances my productivity because now I don't have to manually search for different files.

  ### 4. The #1 app that you need for your Mac

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aaron D. | Ecommerce Trainer, Marketing and Advertising, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 21, 2022

**What do you like best about Alfred?**

My favorite parts about Alfred is how easy it is to open apps as well as find files.

**What do you dislike about Alfred?**

There's not much, but to come up with something it would be the limited search results that appear in the drop down. It's only 10, I wish there was the ability to expand the results.

**What problems is Alfred solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The problems that are being solved are increasing productivity and minimizing clicks to get things done.

Alfred makes working on the computer so much faster. Including finding files with a breeze.

  ### 5. Life before and after alfred

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 17, 2022

**What do you like best about Alfred?**

Its simplicity, together with it's power. You can use it only for simple calculations, as well as performing complex workflows. it's much better than spotlight!

**What do you dislike about Alfred?**

I don't thing nothing is missing here, but it does take some time to get used to it, a learning curve basically.

**What problems is Alfred solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It makes multitasking way easier. It's an awesome search engine.

  ### 6. Very powerful tool for your Mac.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tim C. | Website and Wordpress Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 02, 2021

**What do you like best about Alfred?**

I really like how many different things you can do when using Alfred. I especially love that I can do math calculations right in the pop up. It's definitely much more helpful than the default Mac Spotlight.

**What do you dislike about Alfred?**

I don't know that there's anything I don't like, so much as it's such a ppwerful tool that it's hard to learn all the features and functions it has. It can start to feel overwhelming when you're trying to discover new ways to use it.

**What problems is Alfred solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Alfred to launch all my applications as well as search my Mac for files and documents. The most useful thing for me, though, is the ability to do calculations. As a developer and designer especially it makes it easy and quick to calculate sizes in my projects.

**What do you like best about Alfred?**

Alfred's easy extensibility and large community allow me to use it constantly while I'm at my computer. I can't count all the things I use it for -- most often, I use it to bring up API documentation, browse GitHub, and even connect/disconnect my headphones.

**What do you dislike about Alfred?**

I can't think of anything -- it's easy to install, easy to use, and most of the plugins are easy to set up and install as well.

**What problems is Alfred solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Alfred to open applications (including specific pages in applications) quickly, open up browser tabs, and run custom workflows.

  ### 9. Alfred will increase your productivity

**What do you like best about Alfred?**

A tool I use more than 100 times a day. Shortcuts, clipboard history, custom commands – amazing features I use daily.

**What do you dislike about Alfred?**

Slow feature update velocity and high one-time payment pricing.

**What problems is Alfred solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Quickly entering webpages I need, searching for things with custom {query} options, freeing up my time

  ### 11. Quick and Efficient Shortcuts and Powerful Automation

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 19, 2021

**What do you like best about Alfred?**

I constantly use Alfred over Spotlight for everything from searching for files to opening apps and for executing some custom scripts that I've built.

**What do you dislike about Alfred?**

I sometimes get Alfred prompts pop up when a keyboard shortcut conflicts with other apps, but that is probably my fault.

**What problems is Alfred solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Finding files, executing scripts quickly, navigating through folders.

  ### 12. Highly Recommend

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 18, 2021

**What do you like best about Alfred?**

Easily open the apps and relevant pages I need right away

**What do you dislike about Alfred?**

Don't have a dislike from using the tool so far

**What problems is Alfred solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am able to easily navigate amongst various customer accounts and content without having to navigate manually

  ### 13. Like Spotlight on Steroids - Highly Recommend

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 30, 2020

**What do you like best about Alfred?**

The free version is great. Alfred lets me quickly open web pages directly, and pass in parameters to websites with consistently structured URLs. For example, Salesforce URLs are generally structured similarly, which means that I can pass a Salesforce ID through Alfred and directly open that Salesforce page. This is true of other websites as well - I have had it set up for up to a dozen websites at various companies I have worked at. Also its built in calculator is more convenient to use than Spotlight. There is a bunch of additional functionality that comes with the paid version, but I haven't tried any of that out.

**What do you dislike about Alfred?**

The parameter passing is slightly limited, and that is the thing I use it for the most. As an example, I can use it to pop up the Google Translate website and automatically translate something via Google Translate (ie "translate umbrella") but the language it automatically translates into is the default in Google Translate (in my case Spanish). It would be great to be able to pass multiple parameters (ie "translate umbrella into French") and have it automatically translate into French, instead of the default.

That said, I don't know if that changes with the paid version. The product itself is great, and if that is a paid feature I may eventually upgrade to the paid version.

**What problems is Alfred solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The biggest benefit has been in being able to jump straight from data analysis into web sites (ie copy/pasting a SFDC ID to quickly jump to that account in SFDC). It also helps me quickly look things up on various different websites (Gmail, Google Drive, Google Maps, Twitter, Weather, etc).

  ### 14. Alfred is a must have productivity app

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anthonin C. | Développeur tweaks (iOS jailbreak), Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 30, 2020

**What do you like best about Alfred?**

Alfred allows to perform any task from a Spotlight like bar. I use it to run workflows/scripts to automatize my daily routine.

**What do you dislike about Alfred?**

There's not much I dislike about Alfred. It used to be a bit slow on my old mac but now that I have a new machine (MBP 2018) I can use it to its extend!

**What problems is Alfred solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Doing daily tasks like uploading images to imgur, shorten a link, search for a file on Mac OS, start a timer, etc

  ### 15. Very nice way to search for applications on mac

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sodiq Damilola F. | Engineering Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 28, 2020

**What do you like best about Alfred?**

Ability to customize the workflows and do very powerful things

**What do you dislike about Alfred?**

The licence is a little bit expensive for personal users

**What problems is Alfred solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Improve productivity

  ### 16. Handy in the extreme

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gary K. | UX/UI Design and Strategy Consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 23, 2020

**What do you like best about Alfred?**

Alfred is by far the easiest app launcher I've ever come across. It is also a great search tool both for local documents and items but also as a quick web search. I've turned off Spotlight on my mac and never looked back. That's without even going into the advanced or premium features.

**What do you dislike about Alfred?**

After about 4 years of usage I have yet to find any dislikes.

**What problems is Alfred solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Alfred has helped create a much more efficient work flow. I can open apps, documents and more without leaving the keyboard and interrupting my thought and work flow.

  ### 17. Love how easy and intuitive it is.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Derrick O. | Customer Experience Manager / Front End Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 23, 2020

**What do you like best about Alfred?**

Love that it just replaces the spotlight search. I love that I can add workflows and customize the look.

**What do you dislike about Alfred?**

I dislike that I have to pay for the iOS remote. Something that should be added.

**Recommendations to others considering Alfred:**

Just give it a try. I bet once you install it and use the trial, you will end up paying for the license. It’s totally worth it.

**What problems is Alfred solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Quicker application changes. It just saves time

  ### 18. The best app for macOS - it alone is a good reason to use a Mac over Windows

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 04, 2019

**What do you like best about Alfred?**

Supercharges my everyday usage of the computer, with search, clipboard manager, and workflows you pretty have all your bases covered, and if not - write a workflow yourself, they can be very simple or very complex.

**What do you dislike about Alfred?**

Nothing really, there are constant updates, and the pricing is good for the amount of time it lasts.
Maybe there should be an offering of 1st party workflows, or integration with more password managers other then 1Password.

**Recommendations to others considering Alfred:**

Just try it, the free version is good by itself, the premium is worth every penny though, and will last you a few years, minimum.

**What problems is Alfred solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm way more productive when using it. It's literally the first thing I install on a new Mac.
It replaced a few other tools I had (clipboard manager etc.).

  ### 19. Fantastic Interface for Efficient Searching

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Harjot S. | Student, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 15, 2018

**What do you like best about Alfred?**

One of Alfred's best qualities is its efficient search algorithm and the ability to find documents, pictures, contacts, and apps. In this way, its more powerful than Apple's built-in spotlight feature, as well as being easy to use. It can quickly search Amazon, Google, or Wikipedia for anything as well.

**What do you dislike about Alfred?**

The only fault I've found with this app is the difficulty it sometimes has in search for files that are within many folders. It seems to be unable to search for these kinds of files but has no problem in finding files under a single folder

**Recommendations to others considering Alfred:**

The free version of Alfred is already powerful and more capable than Spotlight. Would highly recommend using this product. For more features and analysis of computer usage, the paid version of Alfred is also an option, however, the free version will do more than meet most consumer's needs.

**What problems is Alfred solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The problem I am solving is a better way to search through a huge array of documents and quickly pulling up whatever I need without having to manually go through folders. This saves time, improves efficiency, and greatens productivity. I've realized through this the benefit of eliminating the manual search process.

  ### 20. Alfred is the heartbeat of my computer

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matt B. | Site Support for Apple Music and iTunes/App Store, Consumer Electronics, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 13, 2018

**What do you like best about Alfred?**

I use Alfred for launching apps, emailing contacts, searching websites on my company's intranet, searching external websites, controlling Apple Music, maintaining a clipboard history and pasting from it, jumping to communications articles behind my company's firewall, quickly opening up requests/bugs in internal apps, and a lot more.

**What do you dislike about Alfred?**

You can't use it on Windows. I don't use Windows at work, but sometimes I do need to use it at home, such as when I'm mining cryptocurrency or playing games. I understand why the author doesn't make a Windows version though.

**Recommendations to others considering Alfred:**

There is no other launcher that I've tried that compares to Alfred. It does everything you'll need and then some. If you ever have any issues, just send an email over to bugs@alfredapp.com. They are very quick to reply and resolve any issues.

**What problems is Alfred solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It just speeds up my productivity more than anything else. It's an essential tool. The only other app that I use that comes close to increasing my productivity is Keyboard Maestro. That one also increases my productivity quite a bit.

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Public Relations and Communications | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 19, 2018

**What do you like best about Alfred?**

Alfred serves as a one-stop shop for easy navigation, tracking, and monitoring. It's so simple toutilize throughout your day and is no added, cumbersome effort to launch and use.

**What do you dislike about Alfred?**

I have nothing to prove this is a direct result from Alfred, but it does seem that my battery drains faster on my laptop since I installed and began using this program. This is the only negative side effect that I have noticed so far, and again, I have no way to determine that Alfred is the one actulaly causing this issue.

**Recommendations to others considering Alfred:**

I highly recommend taking a closer look at Alfred. Obviously, it's geared toward mac and iOS users but the software is impeccable. The active monitoring for bugs and issues and ease of Alfred in adding fixes really does streamline things and make it easier to use. I highly recommend this product to anyone on iOS who is looking for an easier method for management and tracking.

**What problems is Alfred solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easy navigation of my personal files, applications, and settings. It integrates easily with existing software and centralizes search, tracking, and results. It was very easy to integrate into my day-to-day functional use of my laptop.

I like that its a smarter spotlight search. Not sure how it works for non-mac users.

**What do you dislike about Alfred?**

Its not too useful. I used to use it quite often but its nothing special. I like how spotlight search looks like its part of the mac design while alfred doesn't

**What problems is Alfred solving and how is that benefiting you?**

alternate for spotlight. Thought it would be a smarter version of it.
