It will not launch. Brittle, cloodgey and bumbling code. Boo. **What do you dislike about Copernic Desktop Search?** The fact that the proggie will not launch. New install of Windows 10 Pro. Installed, will not launch. Uninstalled, will not launch. The splash java applet starts, it says loading plugins, then it poops the bed. **Recommendations to others considering Copernic Desktop Search:** Run away. Hide yo kids. It offers more search options. Searches performed by Copernic run quicker. With Copernic, I can create search criteria that more surgically identify what I want to see. ### 3. I've purchased latest version of Copernic 8 (the one that claims to have fixed the problem with existing index files with partially deleted references) and installed with the Copernic 6 index file remaining on the system. Software did install, but did not run and crashed consistently in latest version of Windows 10. Asked Technical Support for help - no response after 1 week. They also offer a number if want to talk to a human: answer machine that says it will open a ticket for your! I have over 1.5 million emails & files in various formats, like PST and Thunderbird and is relativly fast. The fact that it can scan and index within word or pdf is great. I have used coopernic for a numbe of years. The new version was able to use old index file rather than have to reindex. **What do you dislike about Copernic Desktop Search?** It can take a few seconds to come up with results. When it starts up it can take a bunch of resources so i would put into smart mode where it backs off when other processes are running **What problems is Copernic Desktop Search solving and how is that benefiting you?** I can easily fimd specific emails based on keywords from over last 20 years, which is helpful for inquires or litigation. ### 10. Those problems are not present when Copernic deals with average amount of files or small amount of files. When windows is starting, Copernic Desktop Search takes a lot to load and impacts heavily windows startup time **Recommendations to others considering Copernic Desktop Search:** Be advised that with very large amount of file, indexing can have problems and search results take a bit longer to appear **What problems is Copernic Desktop Search solving and how is that benefiting you?** I'm using for personal use only, I used to be very satisfied with the program but have been struggling with versions 6, 7 and 7.0.1. hope this gets addressed soon by copernic Currently I've a support ticket in progress for those problems, and hope they get solved ### 13. You are only intimated that existing index has been erased and you will have to built new one.
