"Not worth it from my experience"
What do you like best about Progress Sitefinity?

the wizzy-wig editors/drag and drop was easy to use and being able to write your own code and implement it was simple. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?

The fact that you had to pay for every single update. it became overwhelming for my company and we ended up being behind over 20 versions, making the platform basically useless. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effortless Content Management with Excellent Support"
What do you like best about Progress Sitefinity?

I truly appreciate the ease of publishing content using the out-of-the-box widgets and forms within Progress Sitefinity's framework, as it requires minimal customizations. This feature simplifies content management immensely. Additionally, I love the ability to stage content, allowing me to validate it before it goes live. The workflow to perform scheduled syncs to the production website once the content is reviewed and approved is incredibly efficient and adds a level of professionalism and reliability to our processes. Progress Sitefinity also impressed me with how easy the initial setup was. The fantastic documentation and top-notch support from Progress made our transition smooth and trouble-free. I am so satisfied with the capabilities and user-friendly nature of Progress Sitefinity that I rate my likelihood of recommending it to others a perfect 10. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?

I dislike that the out-of-the-box search functionality in Progress Sitefinity is not very effective. It often necessitates integrating third-party implementations to enhance and streamline content search capabilities. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Powerful CMS, Easy for Contributors"
What do you like best about Progress Sitefinity?

The clean, intuitive user interface and how easy it is to update content. We use Sitefinity Cloud, and their support is very helpful. On the rare occasion the site runs into issues (cloud availability incident), support has usually already started looking into or already resolved the problem. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?

They changed their support tiers, so you now have to pay more for the support you used to receive as part of your plan. The response times are now slower, which can be frustrating. It is rather expensive in general. We had custom functionality added by a Sitefinity partner, so upgrading Sitefinity can be somewhat problematic as the custom functionality can break in the process. It helps to be familiar with .NET as well, especially when trying to troubleshoot on the backend. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Empowers Small Teams with Big Features and Easy Updates"
What do you like best about Progress Sitefinity?

For a small non-profit, this is great because non-technical staff can update the site quickly, and it offers strong features for security and personalized donor communication. It gives a small team the tools of a large one. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?

The main problem is the high cost. Sitefinity's licensing fees and the need for expensive, specialized developers for the initial setup and major changes often put it out of reach for non-profits with limited budgets. It is usually too much power and cost for a lean team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Neither here nor there kind of Enterprise CMS (version 15.3.8500 )"
What do you like best about Progress Sitefinity?

your IT department usually will endorse Sitefinity for its security as its not so opened like php-based CMS such as wordpress or joomla. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?

It has almost no widgets, and you need a very good developer to build everything and widgets. In Singapore, you either get Web sparks which cost quite a bit or other vendors who are not necessarily as well skilled. So the cost of investment can be very high. The yearly license is about 20k USD so you need to factor the cost of hosting, maintenance and development separately with the vendor. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effortless Content Management and Integration with Excellent Support"
What do you like best about Progress Sitefinity?

Sitefinity is a web content management system which allows easiest transition from developers to editors in business. It is easy to implement, use, integrate with other systems. It serves good performance, and support is reachable when needed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?

Sitefinity is powerful, .NET based CMS that's easy for content editors to use and flexible for developers. it does offer strong personalization and good performance. The main downsides are its higher licensing cost, a learning curve from beginners to mater, and complex upgrades. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Flexible Platform with Extensive Extension Points"
What do you like best about Progress Sitefinity?

The flexibility of Sitefinity. There are a TON of extension points to every part of Sitefinity - the frontend, backend, on the database. Its an excellent platform for both end-users creating content on the CRM to developers supporting the backend functionality. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?

It is lagging behind providing native support for modern web development paradigms. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"With challenges"
What do you like best about Progress Sitefinity?

Ability to create custom content modules and widgets and ease of use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?

Very rigid in extending administration areas, no context filtering or sorting based on your custom content module, no ability to edit settings in production (you need to edit them on development instance only), no export feature, no bulk change feature, no ability to create rich text zones in custom widgets, no seamless content sync between staging and production, no ability to bulk import data. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Out of all content management systems, sitefinity is my favorite by far!"
What do you like best about Progress Sitefinity?

Sitefinity is super easy to use. I enjoy the way that all the features are laid out on the dashboard - it's very seamless and not clunky like some other CMSs. I use it every day! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?

Sometimes there are bugs in the upgrades. I honestly don't like the newer version of SF (15+) – we are using it for a website and the tree feature on the left side is extremely hard to use. I would love if they went back to the old version or fixed the tree. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Customization of templates to modify as per requirement Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
