"SiteOps for Civil Design"

What do you like best?

The 'grade button', while not called that it'll do what it sounds like.

I also like the ability to layout a ton of parking over a large area and even change angles very quickly. Finally I like that it runs via browser and doesn't require a powerful workstation.

Overall it's a great preliminary/concept design tool.

What do you dislike?

You have to learn how to use it. It's not like your typical plan production or detail design platform. Although it tries to feel the same with basic commands it is it's own platform.

It's pricey, however licensing is based on simultaneous users which allows some flexibility.

Recommendations to others considering the product

There seems to be big plans for the future of SiteOps. I think this will become more powerful over the years as long as they stay on top of it.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Producing concept designs to prospective clients much faster than you could using Civil 3D.

This has created a new type of problem with clients expecting faster turnarounds because they think the concept is ready for construction and/or parts like topo surveys are not needed.
