My design firm cares a lot about efficiency and accuracy, and the CC team has been very responsive to our feedback and they have incorperated our suggestions into the software. I cant say that any other software I use has this level of communication and adaptabilty. I also love the graphical representations for loading and results. It makes things very easy to back check calculations. **What do you dislike about ClearCalcs?** Frequent calculation upgrade requirements have caused some annoyance. **What problems is ClearCalcs solving and how is that benefiting you?** The problem is im too lazy to hand calc anything and clear calcs saves me a ton of time. ### 2. I especially like selecting the wood species for my beam and clearcalcs automatically loading all of the relevant material properties so I dont need to look them up in the NDS. The steel beam calc, wind load and shear wall calcs and retaining wall calc are also amazing! All the calculators are much more user friendly than other programs/excel sheets I have used in the past. **What do you dislike about ClearCalcs?** Annual subscription fee is a little high but well worth it for this excellent package. **What problems is ClearCalcs solving and how is that benefiting you?** Quick, easy to use calculations which help us change designs on the fly per clients request. ### 3. I also love the ease of use and the huge selection of beams, woods, GLB's, LVLs etc.. Also, the built in hanger and hold down selection too is great. **What do you dislike about ClearCalcs?** It is sometimes tough to know how to use some of the tools to solve real world problems. I would love more videos showing how to use the tools applied to real projects. **What problems is ClearCalcs solving and how is that benefiting you?** It is sizing beams, designing retaining walls and foundations. I wish I knew about this in college. Both ASD and LRFD. **What do you dislike about ClearCalcs?** No definition of terms, that I could find, on my 14 day trial. I had to go find my steel book from class. **What problems is ClearCalcs solving and how is that benefiting you?** I check random beams in the drawing set once it is received. Assist with design and estimating before sent to Stamp holding Engineer. More confidant in my reports now. ### 6. I would like to see project organization improvements. **What problems is ClearCalcs solving and how is that benefiting you?** If I need a quick calculation to be done, ClearCalcs is the perfect tool to get the job done. It also allows me to design larger projects that do not require a full model. ### 10. It is an all around solid staple that allows me to analyse and report my analysis in a quick and efficient manner. **What do you dislike about ClearCalcs?** Coming from different softwares, ClearCalcs will take a bit of getting used to as its interface is not quite the same as other similar design softwares. However the intuitive user experience design means I don't have to spend many dedicated hours trying to learn how to use the software to benefit from it. **Recommendations to others considering ClearCalcs:** This is a software for engineering that is continuously evaluating and moving forward. It definitely requires a test run, as there is nothing quite like it that is widely used in the market. It certainly does deserve to be in the spotlight of structural engineering products and should be a staple in the Australian engineers' go to programs. **What problems is ClearCalcs solving and how is that benefiting you?** There are many softwares that tote similar design capabilities but are usually just extensions of spreadsheets with simplified formulae.
