GeoHECHMS Demo - Automated HEC-HMS Workflows
Greatly speed up stormwater projects with automated workflows to automatically delineate watersheds, compute curve numbers (CN), compute TOC & lag times, compute % impervious, assign design storms, size detention ponds, and generate engineering reports.
GeoHECHMS Demo - CAD & GIS Integration
Integrate HEC-HMS directly with AutoCAD (including AutoCAD Civil 3D), Bentley MicroStation and ESRI ArcGIS map data. Export completed HEC-HMS models and results to AutoCAD, MicroStation and ArcGIS.
GeoHECHMS Demo - Automated Watershed Delineation
Delineate subbasins and watersheds from 3D digital elevation terrain data. Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D surfaces, MicroStation surfaces, contours, TINs, DTMs, DEMs, survey points, LiDAR, and other external digital elevation terrain data.
GeoHECHMS Demo - Complete Land Use Coverage
Complete land use coverage is provided for USA, Canada, Europe, Australia and many other parts of the world. For the USA, land coverage data is provided at a 100 x 100-foot grid cell size. This makes it extremely easy to compute composite curve numbers, time of concentrations, lag times and more.
GeoHECHMS Demo - Complete Imperviousness Coverage
Complete percent imperviousness coverage is provided for the USA at an approximate 100 x 100-foot grid cell size. This allows a more accurate stormwater model to be developed, allowing urbanization effects to be directly incorporated into the stormwater model.
GeoHECHMS Demo - MDI Multiple Model Editing
Load, edit, and run multiple HEC-HMS models simultaneously. The Multiple Document Interface (MDI) allows easy copying and pasting between models, quick comparisons of input data and results between scenarios, and other modeling efficiencies. Models can be displayed in tiled windows or tabbed view...

"GeoHECHMS: Intuitive, Fast, and Easy for Hydrological Studies"
What do you like best about GeoHECHMS?

GeoHECHMS has taken our typical Hydrological Drainage Studies and amplified the speed with which we can complete them. The User Interface makes it quick and easy to work with and is extremely intuitive towards new employees learning the program. We are able to implement it quickly and easily into the majority of our work. My favorite part of the program is the ease of delineating large scale watershed subbasins that can be refined to smaller acreage if you are looking for a more detailed study of larger scale watersheds. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GeoHECHMS?

There really is not much to dislike. If I would have one recommendation, it would be that they push updates quite often and it can be cumbersome when one employee working on a project is on a later version from the week before and has to update to work in the current version weekly. "Revolutionizes Watershed Analysis with Powerful GIS Integration"
What do you like best about GeoHECHMS?

GeoHEC-HMS makes it easier to analyze watersheds using spatial data through leveraging GIS capabilities on top of HEC-HMS. It allows automatic watershed delineation from elevation models, integrates land use and soil data, and provides map-based visualization for better accuracy and interpretation. This integration improves runoff and flood predictions, simplifies data management, and supports scenario analysis for projects like stormwater planning and flood risk assessment. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GeoHECHMS?

GeoHEC-HMS has some disadvantages, such as a steep learning curve because it requires both GIS and hydrologic modeling skills. It also depends on high-quality spatial data, which may not always be available, and setting up and calibrating models can be time-consuming. Additionally, it often needs powerful hardware and, if used with commercial GIS software, can involve extra licensing costs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Modern, Comprehensive Solution for Hydrologic Analysis"
What do you like best about GeoHECHMS?

GeoHECHMS provides all of the external resources that could be necessary for a complete hydrologic analysis.

The original Army Corps of Engineers HEC-HMS software always seemed like an "old" software regarding its interface and features. GeoHECHMS upgrades it to a modern software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GeoHECHMS?

I have not used the software enough to discover its downsides. Compared to regular HEC-HMS, GeoHECHMS is an upgrade, and I haven't used any other software like it to compare it against. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effortless Stormwater Modeling with Excellent Support"
What do you like best about GeoHECHMS?

Easy to use and works well modeling stormwater runoff from complete site grading. Much easier to use than the USCOE base program. Importing linework and grading surfaces from Civil 3D is easy to complete. CivilGeo support is very responsive and helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GeoHECHMS?

Does not provide a benefit when analyzing small sites. Referencing support files can get tricky when sharing with collegues. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effortless Hydrology Modeling with GeoHECHMS"
What do you like best about GeoHECHMS?

CivilGEO’s GeoHECHMS has been great to use. The layout is clear, the tools make sense, and it takes a lot of the hassle out of building and updating HEC-HMS models. It runs smoothly and genuinely saves time on projects. Overall, a solid, user-friendly bit of software that makes hydrology work easier. Excellent customer support and constant updates to improve the software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GeoHECHMS?

Reaches are sometimes inaccurate on a design surface created with a very small cell size. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Fabulous"
What do you like best about GeoHECHMS?

Can model both natural and urbanized watersheds. Supports mixed development watershed conditions.

Highly modular architecture allows for easy integration of hydrologic modeling needs and graphical Environment

Includes a user-friendly Watershed map visualization, data entry utilities. Its advanced Hydrologic Capabilities

Supports a wide range of hydrologic processes:

Infiltration (e.g., SCS Curve Number, Green)

Evapotranspiration, Baseflow and Channel Routing. We Can Add storge Capacity, Nodes, and

In Addition to its Interoperability, it works with other HEC software i.e., HEC-RAS). and uses data storage and retrieval, enabling integration with other hydrologic and hydraulic H&H models. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GeoHECHMS?

All models in HEC-HMS are deterministic, they assume exact knowledge of initial and boundary conditions.

This can limit realism in scenarios where uncertainty or probabilistic behavior is important.

Parameters are assumed to be time-stationary, they don’t change over time.

Simplified Flow Representation and it does not support complex networks in urban engineering systems. lack of advance urban pipe network features creates redundancies and uncertainties. For long simulations, parameters must be manually adjusted between segments. this creates time consuming issues. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Very supportive staffing and accessible resources."
What do you like best about GeoHECHMS?

The most helpful is the staffing as well as the detailed error codes when running the software allows for efficient tried and error/ solving issues when they arise. I also appreciate that there are multiple ways to get the same function whether its the ribbon or right clicks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GeoHECHMS?

Some of the work flow is less straight forward and it is very sensitive to missing information/parameters. I would like it if the inputs where more guided instead of an iterative process. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effectively Helpful"
What do you like best about GeoHECHMS?

I really appreciate the program allowing the user to import shapes from dgn and allowing you to use those shapes to define your drainage area. It does not take much time to create the areas and junctions so that flows are created. Also, the reports are well written out. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
