Ooma is great. It has so many capabilities we didn't have before we started with them. They've really made our processes more efficient. Customers can text us, Ooma automatically sends our phones to the answering service if we're unavailable for a call or lines are down, you can route certain calls to certain numbers, they have chat or call in customer service if we're having problems, a dedicated marketing rep, etc. The possibilities are endless and it's so easy to use. The only real downside to Ooma is that you are dependent on a stable and reliable internet connection...which includes not just the internet provider service, but your modem hardware working properly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It was affordable for a tax-exempt non-profit. Our bill for 2 phones was about $60 / month.
Service options included in the monthly price were a fax line, a 1-800 number, a 3rd line, and an automated receptionist.

Since the beginning, I had an issue with an extreme amount of spam calls (at least 6 daily on each phone). I tried to register the phones on do not call (both state and fed), waited the 90 days and it did nothing to reduce the spam calls.
The call quality was lacking. There was a lag time between when I would speak and when the other person would hear me. This caused issues of us seeming to talk over each other. I would hear my own voice echo.
Sometimes the WP810 Cordless Phones would not ring when a call came in and a voicemail indicator light would flash. You would have to reboot the phone to get it to ring again.
Customer service is ok. Sometimes there is a language barrier. The straw that broke the camel's back was regarding a tax on my monthly bill that was increasing over time. I let it go for a while, but as a non-profit tax-exempt organization, we do not pay tax. While the text feature is great, it is disappointing not to be able to conduct a search of the texts on the app version of Ooma. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Ooma Office has been amazing for our small non profit. The value and the service put it over any other company we have used. No more being on hold for hours to make adjustments or ask questions. I love the online access and how easy it is to make changes. It was a huge asset during COVID when I had to make changes to our answering service from home. We have occasional outages that can affect the phone service. We do have an issue trying to call members who have certain blocks on their phones to not allow VOIP calls. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What our old land line style phone company could not do we were able to do with Ooma and at a lower cost per month. We relocated and the orginal company was insisting that we needed to change our phone number. That would have meant a huge loss of business and many more dollars in sending out the change notices. Ooma said, "not a problem. When do you want this to happen?"

We have technology-based usage, so we were able to connect ourselves for Customer Service management software, as well as to do our meetings, utilizing the platform which is saved us 10 minutes to of Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We would appreciate it if it had more APIs in other systems that we can link into for smoother transition between calls, especially call centers are holding meetings on the Ooma meeting Platform which has to be other windows base or have a host to have other people connect in. This is different than using lysing team zoom or even Google works. I would say those are the biggest competitors on their platform for.meeting Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
