What do you like best?

Creating merged documents can be complex and I've found that Nintex's 'DDP' configuration (that's their Drawloop Dynamic Package) makes what could be a complex configuration much easier.

We run a Salesforce consulting and ISV practice and whilst we're not Nintex partners or resellers, we do use and recommend their technology to clients because we find it easy to implement and straightforward for clients to self-support.

The DDP is a Salesforce record and series of related records that drive the behaviour of the merge functionality - such as pulling in data from related objects, defining output options and many other relationships.

The app itself is stable and the document quality is good. We've been using Drawloop (before it was Nintex Drawloop) for about 8 years now and recommend it to our clients. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

There is a reasonable learning curve to the app - but once you've set up one DDP, it's fairly straightforward to use this as the basis for additional ones.

Behaviour in Lightning can be a bit fiddly - particularly as it's not entirely clear which components should be used on page layouts.

From work with clients recently, I understand that the pricing model has changed and minimum commitments are making the solution less attractive to smaller businesses with fewer users. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Nintex is a simple but powerful document merge solution and is a great tool to use in a quote-docgen-eSign solution.

Once configured, it is reliable and straightforward to support. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

This app is one of our 'go to' solutions when creating an end-to-end pricing-quoting-signing solution in Salesforce.

Our typical workflow is FlexPricer CPQ (https://flexpricer.com) to perform "clever" product and pricebook updates in Salesforce such as volume pricing, bundles, configurator etc. It's then an easy handoff from Opportunities/Quotes to Nintex to create the quote/proposal document and Nintex itself has a simple integration with Docusign (https://docusign.com) for electronic signatures.

Our main use case is professional quote creation as part of simple and scalable CPQ with eSignature solutions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

It allows for many fields from various related objects to be pulled into a single document, Excel or Word. The document can be exported or uploaded to SF. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

The interface is not as user friendly as it could be. I spent a good bit of time reviewing the documentation and figuring things out through trial and error. Eventually I was able to get the final product we needed. However, I could not get end user adoption due to the number of steps required to produce the document. Additionally you must choose to download or attach to project. There is no option to do both. In the contract, they require a 30 day notice to cancel the service, otherwise you must pay for another full year. Of course, they don't send out a reminder. When we received the new invoice it was too late to cancel. I reached out and asked them to meet us in the middle but they insisted that we pay for the full second year, you know, because of that pesky contract. If you buy this product, be sure to set a calendar reminder 60 days before renewal so don't get stuck paying for another year for a service you aren't using. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We used DocGen to produce invoices in Excel. Ultimately, it did not reduce the overall time to create an invoice so we are moving in another direction. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

With a couple of clicks, we are able to merge hundreds of letters to hundreds of people into a single file, for easy printing and sending. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

I don't tend to go outside my limited comfort level with DocGen because there is much that is still very technical about it. I rely heavily on their tech support in order to make changes to our existing document packages. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

We've been able to implement Nintex with not a lot of deep knowledge of technical know-how on our side, and Nintex's support team really shines here and has been really helpful there. If you have people with strong Salesforce and back-end skills this product will do even more for you. We've been able to get what we need -- which is the ability to merge multiple kinds of letters for lots of different records so each letter is custom to that particular person's needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Once it's set up, DocGen has made a big difference in our ability to turn around thank you letters to donors within that 48 hour gold standard for nonprofit fundraising. The packages, which link documents with reports, have also made merging and sending customized solicitation and donation summary letters very easy to complete. What do you like best?

The ability to replicate documents when more than one is required, for example, if our lease has 4 personal guarantors, DocGen has the ability to create a document for each. Our previous system lacked in this ability, I like the ability to use the excel middleware to populate more than one customer name as well as use word formulas to generate different language. Our documents are highly complex and this makes the user experience better. It's not a manual process for them anymore. Being new to Nintex, it would have been very helpful to work with a specific person at Nintex as we were first developing our documents. Although you support was extremely helpful, in the beginning it would have been great to directly work with one of your experts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

I can't put a component group within a component group, I can't highlight in the component group and have that show up on the documents even though NextGen shows the ability to highlight in the component group, when using bullets, it puts a different spacing on the documents compared to the rest of the spacing on the doc, (I want to single space the bullet points when needed but in the document it always comes in as double space, it's a huge inconvenience to have to add all the different word styles to each documents in order for our users to combine documents together without losing the formatting in subsequent documents. I understand it's a MS defect but it's a big challenge. We have over 200 documents and if I need to add a MS style to a new doc, I need to go back into all the other docs and update the word styles for each Page numbering does not work currently when combining documents together, if one doc is 5 pages and one is 6, when combining the docs the page numbering is 1-11. We did reach out to Nintex support and there was no solution. I can't select different documents from different document packages and create one package, I have to duplicate the document in the document package I need it in. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

It does require additional "technical" knowledge that some current admins on a different system may not have. Example: SQL Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Creating multiple documents through replication, adding multiple names on documents including a signature blocks for each, Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

I am able to find documentation fairly easily through the customer portal. When I'm not able to find a solution to my issue, Nintex support (understanding my predicament) spent a decent amount of time either on a screen share or taking the issue offline and come back with a solution.

The support team has always been gracious and patient when assisting me. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

The learning curve can be a bit difficult when you are first working with Nintex. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We have had to come up with a customized solution using DocGen with Salesforce in order to have automated receipts sent out after an online purchase through the SF Community. In addition, our internal users have Statement/Invoice and Receipt templates that are customized for each department.

We have developed a rather sophisticated solution using Nintex with Salesforce to work with our highly customized environment.

Our Alliances (sales) department relies heavily on Nintex working to generate Contracts in every part of the life-cycle, and then automatically attaching copies of all versions (with and without signatures) back to the Opportunity associated to the Contacts. What do you like best?

Nintex Document Generation is a workhorse! It can do SO MUCH -- SOQL queries? Not a problem. Email attachments? Sure! Pick a specific document based on the content of your records? Absolutely! I love the flexibility of outcomes too -- if you want a field value to be updated from "New" to "Submitted" (for example), after generating the DocGen package, that's easy to put in place. If you want an email to go out automatically, or if you prefer to allow a user to preview it first -- not a problem, take your pick.

It feels like Nintex has thought of everything. Well... almost (see dislike section below). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

Error handling is terrrrrible. They just give you a long string of numbers and you have to open a case in order to know what it means. Blech. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Take advantage of any and all training you can get from the folks at Nintex. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We are a service provider for pharma companies, and they often need to send documents to patients, to physicians, or to regulators. A typical docgen package includes a combination of mail merge documents, attachments, and an email template with mail merge field. An agent can accomplish in two or three clicks what would otherwise take 20 minutes or more (collate the documents; run a mail merge; save to hard drive; create email; attach mail merge and documents...you get the idea.) What do you like best?

The best part of this solution is the fact that it auto populates contract information and is well integrated with salesforce and hence makes it easier to follow with prospects/customers rather than spend time in manual document creation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

There is actually nothing that I dislike about the solution - the one recommendation is to make the error handling process more intuitive - at the moment it is a very clumsy process to look for the error and correcting it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

do a trial run of the use case and make sure that the solution works for the use case Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

DocGen has been boon for us. Especially when we are short of development time and need to roll out a new document or update changes. We don't have to depend on the developers or consultants to develop, test and release the Visualforce Page. All it takes is a few clicks and its done. It is as simple as editing a word document. Salesforce has a limitation of displaying the Arabic, Farsi language in PDF rendered by Visualforce. It Jumbles the letters as Arabic, Farsi is written Right to Left.
