I use Outlook every day for business and when I have to switch to Gmail for personal use I am always dissapointed because it does not have the same features I am used to with Outlook. Microsoft continues to stand out for its tight integration with other MS products and the broader MS 365 ecosystem. For end users, the experience feels familiar and consistent across devices, and it becomes highly productive once everything is configured. From an administrator’s perspective, Outlook paired with Exchange Online provides solid centralized management. Onboarding new users is also fairly straightforward. The biggest challenge with Outlook today is the inconsistency between the classic Outlook client and the newer Outlook experience. Some of our users report performance issues, a sluggish UI, and incomplete feature parity in the new client.

For our admin team, management workflows also feel fragmented across multiple admin portals. Security settings, Exchange settings, compliance controls, and identity configurations are spread across different interfaces, which slows down day-to-day work—especially with some of the newer admin center designs.

On top of that, most of the team (myself included) feels Microsoft is pushing Copilot integration too aggressively before the overall experience is fully mature.
