"Excellent Option for growing MSSP"
What do you like best about Action1?

While there are so many options for patching, we chose Action1 as they first 200 licenses are free always which is extremely helpful in our current economy. We truly appreciate how they go through manual validations of scripts and custom applications before allowing customers to upload them, that is a huge bonus where trust is important.

Other features we really appreciate are while it is not pitched as an RMM, they have been adding functionality to provide that for additional troubleshooting. It is a great option that seems to have worked with very high accuracy with our team and customers and we plan to stick with it for as long as we can.

Key positives:

Ease of Use

Ease of implementation

Customer Support

Ease of integrating it with our tech stack Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Action1?

I do not have many dislikes at this time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great RMM tool for starting or long term"
What do you like best about Action1?

This RMM tool is a great fit whether you’re just starting out with remote monitoring and management or planning to use it as a long-term solution. The setup is straightforward, and the interface is clean enough that even someone new to RMM platforms can get up to speed quickly. At the same time, it has plenty of depth and flexibility for more advanced use cases, making it reliable as your needs grow.

The key strengths are:

Ease of deployment – agents install quickly and reporting is clear.

Scalability – works well whether you’re managing a handful of endpoints or scaling to hundreds.

Feature set – patch management, monitoring, and remote access are all solid.

Value – cost-effective without sacrificing core functionality.

Support and documentation are also strong, which makes troubleshooting or exploring advanced configurations much smoother.

Overall, this RMM tool strikes the right balance between simplicity and capability. It’s approachable for beginners but powerful enough for long-term use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Action1?

Not having a Linux installer so I can manage and monitor my Linux VMs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Kimberly Gonzales of Action1

Hi Jay,

We're thrilled to hear that Action1 is meeting your remote monitoring and management needs, from ease of deployment to advanced functionality. Your feedback about the Linux installer is duly noted and we will take it into consideration for future updates.

"Action 1 is stability in a sea of chaos!"
What do you like best about Action1?

The patching on Action1 is class-leading. I haven't used another tool which handles it as well without being overly complicated. I don't have hours and hours to pour though patching, and Action1 has turned this into a ten minute task and I find myself checking in on it all the time as it gives a great summary of the network at a glance. Rolling out Action1 with the MSI installer to endpoints via Intune or GPO was flawless and "just worked. I have been burned in the past by weak Discovery Agents in other platforms, but when I took a risk on the discovery tool it added every single machine in the domain, and provided useful logs in return. I genuinely couldn't believe my eyes. Customer Support from Action1, when I had a single question a while ago was answered immediately, but to be honest, I haven't needed to speak to anyone because the manual and software actually work. What do you dislike about Action1?

I would love to see some Linux support, the windows endpoint support is great, but even with some basic support for Debian servers would be life changing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Kimberly Gonzales of Action1

Hi Kris,

Thanks for your review! We're glad to hear that the deployment process was seamless and that the discovery tool exceeded your expectations. We also appreciate your feedback on Linux support and will definitely take it into consideration for future updates.

"Effortless Setup and Customization, Reliable Daily Performance"
What do you like best about Action1?

Setting it up in a Windows environment using the MSI installer is incredibly straightforward. The user interface is intuitive and well-organized, making navigation simple. I appreciate the customization options available, such as adjusting what the user sees, including translations and logos. Another advantage is the 200 free endpoints provided, which are excellent for testing and general use. I rely on it almost every day, and it has never let me down. What do you dislike about Action1?

Honestly, not a lot, if anything. I am missing a Linux agent but they have announced it couple of weeks back so I'm happy. One feature I would like to see though is a setting that lets me set the 2FA to be mandatory to all users. Maybe like once you invite a user/admin, when they login in, it prompts them to setup the 2FA. Otherwise, no issues. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Action1 - Core software works well, but needs some refinement in specific areas"
What do you like best about Action1?

Action1 is simple to use and set up, the feature set is good but not overwhelming, and it's good at what it does. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Action1?

The organization of endpoints and the handling of dynamic collections could use improvement. I would also appreciate if reports were more actionable, rather than simply presenting static data. It would be helpful to have more detailed endpoint information available by default, so I don't have to depend on custom attributes. Additionally, I wish it were possible to customize extra actions on software packages without the need to clone them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Patch Management with Action1 just works!"
What do you like best about Action1?

I appreciate Action1's effectiveness in solving the issues we faced with our previous endpoint management systems, particularly in terms of messy patch management, with a solution that deploys quickly and efficiently. The Windows patch management feature was a primary reason for our switch to Action1, and it has proven to be very reliable, offering the flexibility to go granular with update rings. The user interface is not only clear and easy to navigate, but it also includes a dark mode, making it aesthetically pleasing and intuitive. The availability of advanced features in the free tier is remarkable and highly beneficial for our needs as an SME. I find the software deployment and script deployment features very comprehensive, as they meet nearly all our requirements. The automated patch management just works without complications, and configuring endpoints, creating groups, and managing tasks are all quite intuitive and efficient. I also appreciate the uninstall feature in software deployment, which works seamlessly. Action1's functionality extends far beyond that of Wazuh, eliminating our need for the latter. Overall, Action1 offers a highly cost-effective solution with superior ease of deployment, remediation capabilities, and a responsive and feature-rich interface. Switching to Action1 from our MSP provided RMM was motivated by Action1's superior performance in reliable patch management and task deployment, as well as by its proactive development pace. The initial setup of Action1 was straightforward and required minimal effort, quickly delivering the desired results. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Action1?

Action1 has so far worked well for us, and the few issues we have encountered are already being addressed or are part of the future roadmap. These are minor issues that do not impact our daily operations significantly and are more like nice-to-have improvements. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Kimberly Gonzales of Action1

We're pleased to hear that Action1 has been a valuable solution for your patch management and endpoint management needs. Thank you for highlighting the effectiveness of our Windows patch management feature, user interface, and advanced features in the free tier. We're committed to continuously improving our platform, and we're glad to hear that any minor issues you've encountered are already being addressed or are part of our future roadmap. We appreciate your feedback and thank you for choosing Action1 as your reliable patch management and task deployment solution!

"Outstanding Experience—Highly Recommend!"
What do you like best about Action1?

We have had a lot of issues with managing our Windows fleet with Intune. We use update rings and do not have an easy ability to decline and/or approve specific updates that are known to cause issues. Instead we end up pausing/deferring updates which then means we are vulnerable due to other patches not being deployed and installed. With Action1, we can easily deploy only approved updates ALONG with patching all third-part software, including applications that we did not push/install via Intune. This helps keep us fully patched and safe from known vulnerabilities from both Windows and third-party software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Action1?

I wish you had had remote desktop capability for MacOS devices and the soon Linux agents. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Kimberly Gonzales of Action1

We're delighted to hear that Action1 has been beneficial in managing your Windows fleet and patching third-party software. Your feedback about the remote desktop capability for MacOS devices and Linux agents is valuable, and we will consider it as we continue to enhance our platform.

"Effortless Deployment and Versatile Patching"
What do you like best about Action1?

I have been using Action1 for about a year, primarily to manage patching, and it has proven extremely useful in my workflow. Initially, it helped us during our Windows 10 EOL project by remotely forcing windows updates on computers where other methods like Intune or automatic deployment failed. What I love most is how it keeps our environment secure by continuously deploying updates. The ease of seeing what updates need to be applied and the ability to control who gets the updates and when they get them are outstanding features. These capabilities make Action1 valuable because I can address vulnerabilities quickly while minimizing effort and impact on employees. The initial setup of Action1 was super easy, thanks to the excellent documentation, and the rollout was seamless and fast. Additionally, it's part of our larger tech stack and complements our use of the Microsoft/Intune suite, Pulseway, and Rapid7. Even though we added Action1 to enhance the services offered by Microsoft products, my experience with it has been highly positive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Action1?

I dislike the limited repository size of the apps with updates in Action1 and find it tricky to add my own apps for updates. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Kimberly Gonzales of Action1

It's great to hear that you've found value and success with Action1! We appreciate your feedback regarding the limited repository size for apps with updates and are committed to enhancing our platform.

"Efficient Patching with Intuitive Interface"
What do you like best about Action1?

I find Action1 incredibly easy to use, which is a significant advantage for efficiently patching endpoints like laptops and servers. This ease of use translates to a smoother user experience and saves valuable time. I also appreciate the comprehensive overview it provides of installed software, as well as the general insights it offers. This feature is particularly valuable because it allows me to quickly identify out-of-date software, helping maintain system integrity and security. Additionally, the initial setup of Action1 was very easy, which made the transition seamless and hassle-free. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Action1?

I dislike the inability of Action1 to filter and uninstall software based on specific criteria, such as uninstalling all Adobe 2022 packages. This limitation affects the efficiency of managing and updating software across multiple devices. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"All-in-One Solution for Efficient Computer Estate Management"
What do you like best about Action1?

Everything you need from an agent is conveniently gathered in one place, making it much easier to manage, support, and stay in control of your estate. This setup also helps you keep on top of tasks that would otherwise take up a lot of time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Action1?

Report subscriptions only permit a single recipient, which means that if you want to send the same report to multiple people, you have to create separate subscriptions and schedules for each recipient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Kimberly Gonzales of Action1

Hi Paul,

Thank you for sharing your experience with Action! We appreciate your feedback on the report subscriptions and will take it into consideration for future improvements.
