"Effortless Deployment and Reporting with Action1"
What do you like best about Action1?

Honestly, a great tool. Super easy to navigate, and decent reporting.

Super easy to deploy software and upload your own. They have a large repository to select from, and do updates!

Similarly easy to deploy out scripts and update script libraries.

With the new Linux integrations, I only see good things in the future for this tool.

I use it extensively in my home lab and home machines, as well as at my day jobs on enterprise devices. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Action1?

Not much, and definitely no deal-breakers. Reaching a bit on these, but just the headaches/thoughts I/we've had:

There are a few downsides to the vulnerability tracking, but this is comparing it to something like Tenable. However, Action1 is not a vulnerability mitigation/response tool. For the software and OS vulnerabilities it tracks, it does a fantastic job.

I think if the Windows server OS patching were more separated from the Windows endpoint OS patches, it would have better cohesiveness. -- ie, having Windows Server 2022 updates different than Windows 22h2 update just for clarity. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effortlessly Manages Our IT Needs, Perfect Score!"
What do you like best about Action1?

I love how Action1 enables seamless software deployment and patching, effectively allowing me to manage these processes without any hitches. The ability to automate script deployments, either scheduled or on-demand, adds immense flexibility and power to my workflow. I get comprehensive reports, which makes the monitoring process straightforward and efficient. The fact that Action1 integrates most of the tools I need to manage my fleet into a single solution is incredibly convenient, eliminating the need for multiple platforms and simplifying my management tasks. Additionally, the initial setup of Action1 was super easy, which saved me a lot of time and trouble, allowing me to focus more on my core tasks. I have faced no issues with Action1; it perfectly fulfills my requirements. Such reliability and ease of use make it a product I would confidently recommend to others. "Outstanding Endpoint Management with a Generous Free Tier"
What do you like best about Action1?

Action1 is a strong cloud-native endpoint management and patching platform that shines for teams focused on fast, reliable remediation. Setup is simple: deploy the agent and you get risk-based OS and third-party patching, inventory, compliance reporting, and browser-based remote desktop (attended/unattended). The standout is its free forever tier for up to 200 endpoints with full features—great for small orgs or pilots. Recent Intune integration fills Microsoft’s third-party patching gaps, and the vendor backs things with SOC 2 Type II and ISO/IEC 27001:2022.Bottom line: if patching and visibility are your top priorities—especially in Microsoft-centric environments—Action1 is an easy recommend, and the free tier makes it a low-risk trial. I use this tool daily and the customer support is phenomenal. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Action1?

Pricing above 200 endpoints isn’t public, and while remote access is convenient, heavy helpdesk users may still want a specialist tool. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Best Patch Management Tool"
What do you like best about Action1?

Action1 provides a simple yet powerful way to manage patching across multiple devices. The dashboard is intuitive, and real-time reporting makes it easy to track compliance. Automated patch deployment saves a significant amount of time compared to manual updates, and scheduling patches is seamless. The cloud-based setup also means there’s no need to maintain on-premises infrastructure. It also help to mange in envirment in group like Staging ,Production. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Action1?

While Action1 is highly efficient, there can be occasional delays in synchronizing endpoints, especially in environments with unstable internet connections. The reporting features, though detailed, could benefit from more customization options. Expanding integrations with other security and IT tools would also make it even more versatile.I also think that remote desktop option should not be given this will be the cause of breach in my point of view. "Effortless Setup and Patch Management, But Remote Desktop Can Be Laggy"
What do you like best about Action1?

It was very easy to get up and running, and offering up to 200 hosts for free makes this a no-brainer. Deploying the agent via GPO was very easy and now I have all of my endpoints running and letting me have full visibility on our patch management. I also use the remote desktop solution almost daily with my users for providing support in real time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Action1?

I do find the remote desktop solution to be slow and laggy, much slower than using RDP within the network. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Kimberly Gonzales of Action1

Hi Chris,

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are glad to hear that you found the setup effortless and that Action1 has given you visibility into patches and updates. We understand the importance of a reliable remote desktop solution and are actively working to address any performance issues.

"Intuitive Layout Makes Everything Effortless"
What do you like best about Action1?

The layout. Everything is intuitive. Approving updates is easy, the scheduling is easy to do. I can have my computers reboot on a schedule after the updates are applied so they can get the next round of updates and move on. I haven't played with the scripting much because I manually set up each computer before installing Action1. I use Action1 for patch management. Organizing the computers into groups is easy. It's very fun to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Action1?

I tried to script something and it failed without good information to troubleshoot. It's not that big of a deal but since the first 200 computers are completely free, I can get support if I needed. I can't think of a single feature that I don't like. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Don't sleep on this gem!"
What do you like best about Action1?

The third-party patching and vulnerability management are pretty good. I've used Qualys, Automate and Kaseya, so I have a bit of comparative experience.

Detection is precise, and deployments are reliable. After 26 years in tech, I’ve tried many RMM tools that are 2-3 times pricier but don’t perform any better.

The interface is easy to use for any level of sysadmin. The custom automation feature is pretty good if you can script even a little.

Rolling it out is easy, with a ton of options to suite whomever.

The reporting meets the needs of C-Suite type reports.

It's very set it and forget it which I like. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Action1?

Built-in automations are limited, so get learning to script a little better than you do!

The alerting system also feels underdeveloped and could use enhancement. These aren’t dealbreakers, but they show that the platform is still maturing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Excellent Free MDM with Remote Support, But Needs Remote Wipe Feature"
What do you like best about Action1?

The best MDM with free features.

I like the remote screen share feature a lot because our clients haven't been able to remediate some issues, so we used this feature and remediated the vulnerabilities. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Action1?

we are missing the remote wipe feature.

For example, if any employee loses their laptop, we want to wipe the entire laptop's details so no data will be lost/theft Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A platform I was looking for."
What do you like best about Action1?

The platform not only allows me to automate patch management, but also provides valuable insight into what is happening with my devices. The fact that it is free for up to 200 devices makes it ideal for my small, independent school. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Action1?

As I am using it for not a long time, I cannot find anything yet, maybe except failing to deploy new software through the platform. So fat, it didn't work in most cases and I would love to kow why. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Patching Endpoints Made Easy: My Hands-On Experience with Action1"
What do you like best about Action1?

What I find most helpful about Action1 is that the first 200 endpoints are free. As the Technology Director for a small nonprofit private school, I have to be very mindful of our budget. I was specifically searching for a free solution for patching computers, and that's when I discovered Action1. Since I manage fewer than 150 devices, the platform is completely free for my needs and I use it daily, whether it's patching endpoints, upgrading devices to Windows 11, or using the remote desktop feature. Setting it up was also very straightforward—I was able to deploy the agent to all my devices using Group Policy. For small organizations like mine, Action1 has truly been a lifesaver. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Action1?

Although I don't have many macOS devices in my network, I do have a few, and while I can use Action1 to patch my Macs, I find it less robust compared to patching my Windows machines. The remote desktop feature does function, but its capabilities are quite limited. For example, I can't transfer files from my computer to the target device through Action1, so I have to rely on another program for that task. Additionally, if the target device uses a second monitor, I can't simply scroll between screens; instead, I have to click a button to switch views. One more issue is that Action1 logs me out more frequently and sooner than I would prefer. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Kimberly Gonzales of Action1

Hi Brandon,

We're happy to hear that Action1 has been instrumental in helping you patch your computers and upgrade your Windows devices. We appreciate your feedback about the limitations you've experienced with patching macOS devices and the remote desktop feature. We're continuously working to improve our platform, and your input will be taken into consideration as we strive to enhance the user experience for all our customers.
