**What do you like best about Action1?**

Action1 provides a software patching solution with a variety of very handy features, including a script library for custom and built-in scripts, a software repository for uploading application installers, and provided installers that are kept up to date. It also offers custom reports and loads more. The best thing about Action1 is that it’s completely free for up to 200 devices.

The user interface is easy to navigate around, it performs well in my browser, and the remote connection feature works without any complicated setup methods.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

Not all uninstallation scripts work, and even though the hardware specification of a device is shown on all endpoints, there's no mention of the model name.

Remote desktop performance can sometimes be hit and miss.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Not only is Action1 helping us as a business save money on licence fees since using the application doesn't cost a single penny, but we're also able to fulfil our objectives as a department by keeping our installed software up to date.

  ### 2. Global Accessibility and Easy Deployment

**What do you like best about Action1?**

My biggest issue with protecting my desktops and servers—which are susceptible to the internet and spam and phishing emails—is resolved when I utilise Action1 to patch them. I appreciate how simple it is to administrate, monitor, deploy, and set up. It's also quite easy to quickly add agents from anywhere in the world. I can easily install and deploy patching across our nodes throughout the Middle East, North Africa, and some parts of Europe because it is cloud-based and I can monitor from any location. In contrast to WSUS, which requires numerous settings, the first setup was quite simple.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

Allowing the integration of iOS and Android devices would, in my opinion, make Action1 better. Securing these devices with new updates is also highly important because they are often on the go and connected to external or open networks.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Action1 to patch servers and PCs and fix security flaws. Its cloud-based functionality makes it simple to deploy, set up, administer, and monitor internationally.

  ### 3. Action1: easy to use, fast agents, and remote access that streamlines support

**Reviewed Date:** August 20, 2026

**What do you like best about Action1?**

What I like most about Action1 is its ease of use. The installation of agents is quick and simple, and I really like how quickly endpoint information is updated on the platform. Remote access is also very easy to use and greatly facilitates daily support.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

What I like least is the slowness of the dashboard at times. Navigating between organizations and groups can also be a bit confusing, especially when managing multiple environments.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Action1 primarily solved the problem of organizing and centralizing access and management of machines from different clients and sites. Before, using remote access tools like AnyDesk or TeamViewer, it was very easy to lose track of which machine belonged to which client. With Action1, I can remotely access the client's machine and, at the same time, consult the inventory, vulnerabilities, updates, and pending patches. Having all this information gathered in one place greatly facilitates diagnosis and service, as well as making support more organized and efficient.

  ### 4. Great Platform and easy to use.

**What do you like best about Action1?**

I like that it is very easy to setup and easy to use and is very generous with it's free plan that allows smaller companies to have the tools they need to secure and support their endpoints that they would not have otherwise. It's patch management works great and has lots of options for accepting or denying updates based on needs. it has good monitoring tools and remote access support options to quickly help end users when needed as well. It helps with device inventory as it tells you the hardware and software info of all devices connected to Action1. I highly recommend it to anyone that wants a simple and highly effective solution for Patch management and with the bonus of also having some basic RMM features.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

I can't think of any major downsides. I do wish it had built-in support for updating the MS 365 desktop apps without having to set it up and configure it manually, though their database is still quite good and growing all the time. Other than that I can't really think of any right now.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is solving the problem of not being able to remotely patch Third party software and makes it quicker and easier to Patch Windows as well. It also makes remote tech support much quicker and easier for the end user and me.

  ### 5. Action1 Makes Third-Party Patching and Remote Support Effortless for MSPs

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alex A. | Microsoft Cloud Consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Current User:** The reviewer uploaded a screenshot or submitted the review in-app verifying them as current user.

**What do you like best about Action1?**

As an MSP managing endpoints across multiple client tenants, third-party patching is the standout feature for us. Rather than chasing updates for common but often-neglected apps (Chrome, Adobe Reader, Zoom, etc.) on a client-by-client basis, Action1’s Software Repository lets us handle detection and deployment centrally, and it saves us hours of manual work every month. The added vulnerability visibility also means we can prioritise patches based on actual risk instead of just age, which makes for a much easier, more practical conversation with clients during security reviews.

On the day-to-day support side, remote access is just as valuable. Being able to jump onto an end user’s machine, run a script, or push a missing update without a VPN or any on-prem infrastructure fits perfectly with how we operate. Most of our clients are fully remote or hybrid, and the lightweight cloud agent means deploying to a new tenant takes minutes rather than turning into a project.

It’s also genuinely free for the first 200 endpoints with no functional limits, which made it an easy sell when onboarding smaller clients that don’t want to commit to a large RMM contract straight away.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

Single sign-on could be easier to set up. It took a bit more configuration than I expected before I could get it working smoothly.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It has replaced a mix of manual patching and legacy tools like WSUS across our client base, giving us a single console for managing OS and third-party updates, remote troubleshooting, and basic RMM tasks. It also fills a genuine gap left by Intune, which doesn’t handle third-party application patching natively. Action1 covers that area cleanly without requiring a separate tool or workaround. Overall, that consolidation has reduced the time we spend chasing routine patches and freed us up to focus more on higher-value security work for clients.

  ### 6. Action1 Delivers Incredible Value: Free Endpoints, Affordable Scaling, and Phenomenal Reporting

**What do you like best about Action1?**

I’m fairly new to using it; however, I’m absolutely blown away by how many no cost endpoints you can have. Also, the cost once you exceed those limits is very affordable. My one meeting with the representative from Action1 was amazing! They were so helpful and genuinely caring. They help you grow, so you can grow with them. The custom reporting and scripts are phenomenal, and they make it easy to add anything extra that isn’t already included in the plethora of options in place. Without a doubt, I’ll be a client for a very long time, and I trust the product completely for use with my clients. A+

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

Honestly, I haven’t found any downsides so far. It’s very easy to use and set up, and I’m super impressed with how customizable and powerful it is.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Complete software stack vulnerability patching for Windows and Linux, not just OS updates. It also provides easy, unattended access so I can assist clients remotely when needed. Asset management and reporting are solid, with customizable email alerts. Silent software removal and installation make management straightforward without interrupting end users. Plus, there’s much more I haven’t had a chance to explore yet.

  ### 7. Responsive Dashboard, Comprehensive Catalog, and a Generous Free Tier

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed Date:** July 23, 2026

**What do you like best about Action1?**

The free tier, with up to 200 endpoints free forever, makes this a great tool for smaller businesses working with tighter budgets. The functionality is wide-ranging, and the software catalog is comprehensive. The dashboard and the deployments/automations it runs feel highly responsive and interactive, especially compared with some other platforms in a similar space.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

I'd like a way to monitor compliance with a set of rules - software x should be installed etc rather than just monitoring what's installed and updated. I'd also like an easy way to auto-deploy a set of software to new devices and only run that automation once. As it stands you'd have to manually choose what to deploy to a new device.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Real-time visibility is a huge piece of the value Action1 brings. Other tools may update hourly or less, but Action1 seems to be up-to-date to the minute or less. Running commands returns results in near-real-time meaning you can get more done in less time.

  ### 8. Comprehensive Patch Management with Ease of Use

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about Action1?**

I like how easy it is to roll out Action1. The free plan is quite comprehensive for small businesses, which is a big plus. I also appreciate that they often put out updates and improvements to their software. It gives us peace of mind by allowing us to know what's happening in our system without spending valuable resources on the product. The initial setup was extremely easy as well.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

I sometimes find that the filtering options do not work correctly, and I wish there was a way to track inactive computers that aren't noted in the overall patching issues. For those that are waiting to be used and not connected to the Internet, it would be helpful if there was a way not to track them.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Action1 for inventory management and patching. It saves resources by keeping our system updated without much effort, providing peace of mind.

  ### 9. Action1: Fast Setup, Powerful Automation, and Great Value for MSPs

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Edwin C. | System Administrator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Current User:** The reviewer uploaded a screenshot or submitted the review in-app verifying them as current user.

**Validated Reviewer:** Validated through a business email account

**Reviewed Date:** July 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Action1?**

Action1 is incredibly easy to set up and use — I was patching endpoints within minutes of creating an account, with no steep learning curve. The free tier for up to 200 endpoints is a huge value for MSPs and small IT teams, letting us get enterprise-grade patch management without a licensing cost. The automation features are also a highlight — scheduling patch cycles and remediation scripts has saved us significant time across client environments, reducing manual, repetitive work.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

There’s a bit of a learning curve once you move past the basics and start building more advanced automation policies or custom scripts, and the documentation could be more detailed in a few areas. Reporting could also be more customizable for client-facing use; as an MSP, I often need to present patch compliance data in a specific format for clients.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Action1 has made patch management much simpler across our client environments, helping us keep up with both OS and third-party software updates without having to manually touch every endpoint. As a result, we’ve lowered the security risk that comes from unpatched vulnerabilities and reclaimed the time we used to spend tracking patch status site by site. The free 200-endpoint tier has also made it easier to provide this same level of service to smaller clients without cutting into our margins.

  ### 10. Action1 Makes Patch & Vulnerability Management Fast, Easy, and Cloud-Based

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** ian b. | Sys Admin, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Current User:** The reviewer uploaded a screenshot or submitted the review in-app verifying them as current user.

**Validated Reviewer:** Validated through a business email account

**Source: Seller invite:** Invitation from a seller or affiliate. This reviewer was offered a nominal incentive as thanks for completing this review.

**Reviewed Date:** July 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Action1?**

Action1 makes patch management easy.

The biggest advantage for our organization is the ability to manage endpoints anywhere without deploying VPNs or maintaining additional infrastructure. The interface is clean, deployment was quick, and we were able to gain visibility into our entire endpoint estate almost immediately.

I particularly like:

Automated OS and third-party application patching
Vulnerability assessment integration
Cloud-based management
Detailed compliance reporting
Remote endpoint management
Fast deployment and onboarding

As a small IT team managing multiple sites, it saves a significant amount of time each month.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

There are occasional situations where advanced reporting customization could be more flexible. Some highly specialized endpoint management tasks may still require supplemental tools.

However, for patching and vulnerability management, the product performs extremely well.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Action1 has enabled us to standardize patch management across geographically dispersed locations while improving our overall security posture.

Previously we had inconsistent visibility into endpoint compliance and patch status. With Action1 we can:

Monitor compliance from a single dashboard
Rapidly deploy security updates
Track vulnerabilities in real time
Verify remediation efforts
Reduce manual administrative effort

This has improved operational efficiency while helping reduce cybersecurity risk.

**What do you like best about Action1?**

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

Ojalá hubiera mejores controles para evitar que los usuarios puedan desinstalar el agente.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

**What do you like best about Action1?**

Action1 was super easy to get set up, and we had it rolling out to devices pretty fast. We've got it on 100+ servers and 60+ Windows PCs and it's made patching and remoting into machines way less of a pain. Has made reboot night a lot easier. I've tried using Nable for the past 4 years and it always has had issues with the timing of the scripts running sometimes it's 5 minutes others it's 45 minutes. With Action1 when you send a command to a machine the command is ran within a couple of minutes. The interface is easy to use, which is nice because a lot of IT software is way more complicated than it needs to be. Installing the agent is basically just running the PowerShell script and a minute or two later the device is in the dashboard and ready to go. One of the very few software's I've used where you get more than what you pay for.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

I really don't have any major complaints about Action1. I'd have to start nitpicking to find something I didn't like.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Scheduling and pushing out Windows updates. Makes it about as simple as it can be. Schedule a time to update it starts updating and if you choose it starts rebooting.

**What do you like best about Action1?**

Ease of Use

One of Action1's strongest advantages is its ease of use. Deployment is straightforward, requiring only a lightweight agent on managed devices. Since the platform is fully cloud-hosted, there is no need to deploy or maintain management servers, databases, or VPN connectivity for remote devices.

Free Licensing

For organizations like ours, where the endpoint count is below 100, this offers significant value by eliminating recurring software licensing expenses.

The free license includes management for up to 100 endpoints with the same core features available to paid customers. There are no feature restrictions simply because the environment is small. This allows organizations to implement enterprise-grade endpoint management without licensing costs.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

I genuinely don't have significant dislikes about Action1. The software has met my expectations well

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Action1 has simplified endpoint administration, strengthened security, improved visibility into our IT assets, and reduced both operational effort and software licensing costs.

**What do you like best about Action1?**

I appreciate Action1 because it simplifies endpoint management by letting me monitor, update, and manage devices from one place. It's easy to use and navigate, sparing me from a steep learning curve. I find its reliable performance valuable as it saves time and boosts productivity by ensuring updates, monitoring, and remediation are smooth. The Action1 subreddit is a big plus for me, offering a platform where users can share experiences, ask questions, and discuss solutions.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

Some features can take time to fully understand at first. The interface could feel more modern in certain areas. There are occasional minor delays or glitches during updates or heavy use.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Action1 simplifies endpoint management by allowing us to monitor, update, and manage devices from one place. It makes patch management easier, reduces manual tasks, and improves security. Its easy-to-use interface saves training time, and reliable performance enhances productivity.

**What do you like best about Action1?**

You can push updates remotely and connect to the computer, which has saved us so many times. The UI is great and genuinely easy to use. For us, you can’t beat the price - free! Thank you so much; it has truly transformed our business’s security.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

The remote connection could be a bit stronger, right now its very slow but it could be some firewall rules we need to change. It also shows some vulnerabilities that we have patched that vulnerability scanners that say we have remediated.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Automating patching, asset management and remote connection. It Excels in all of these departments and is very user friendly. The big one as well is updating applications, a huge time saver, with updates you can just turn on auto updates but the fact that it updates the applications on machines as well just saves us a lot of time.

**What do you like best about Action1?**

Action1 gives me a level of visibility to the endpoint patching status that I never had, especially 3rd-party apps. I can instantly get a view of how things are going It also features hardware and software reporting that beats what I had been using. It integrated easily into our environment, very easy to deploy.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

So far nothing really jumps out as an issue. Common to a lot of software nowadays, you have to jump through a lot of separate docs to learn some of the finer points, as opposed to one big indexed PDF which I'd prefer. Most of it doesn't even require docs.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Really, being on top of 3rd-party patching is the big thing. I went from really limited monitoring and control to the other end of the spectrum. It also improved on Windows update management through Intune. There's also a lot of built-in reports that provide great info beyond patch management.

**What do you like best about Action1?**

A very powerfull RMM that is also MSP friendly. In addition to patch management, features such as remote access and the ability to deploy scripts make it a very pratical and versatile solution.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

I don't really have any negative points to mention. Perhaps the built-in reports could be improved to make inventory management even simpler.

It would also be great to add a warranty expiration date field for endpoints. If Action1 could automatically retrieve this information using the device's serial number, that would be an outstanding feature.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The simplified management of multiple IT environments through hardware inventory, and especially the ability to manage patching, helps ensure that software is always up to date and reduces the risk of security vulnerabilities.

This is particularly important in the context of cybersecurity audits, where maintaining a secure and up-to-date infrastructure is essential.

**What do you like best about Action1?**

The thing I like best about Action1 is how smoothly it handles patch management for remote and hybrid endpoints without needing a VPN.

If you are managing a fleet of machines, patch compliance can usually be a massive headache—especially when users are working from home. Action1 solves this with a lightweight cloud agent that gives you full visibility and control through a single browser tab.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

The biggest issue is the very small built-in software repository. They focus heavily on security and manual verification, but the catalog is limited to basic mainstream apps

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Action1 completely eliminates the headache of managing remote and hybrid computers by replacing heavy, old-school infrastructure like WSUS and slow VPNs with a lightweight cloud agent. It allows you to automatically patch Windows vulnerabilities and update risky third-party apps like Chrome or Zoom directly from a single browser tab, no matter where the user is working. This benefits you by cutting down weekly maintenance from hours to minutes, securing your network instantly, and letting you push scripts or software packages globally without fighting corporate firewalls.

**What do you like best about Action1?**

I have been using Action1 now for a few years, It has continued to be as impressive as the first day I used it. It covers all of the requirements I need and many, many more. It has been an integral part of the service we provide and a big contributor to our growth. During this time we have seen the expansion of Action1 to cover Mac and Linux. We recommend Ation1 to anybody who is looking for an all round, all singing and dancing solution for managing IT infrastructure.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

Since we started using Action1 there has been nothing that we have disliked, with their roadmap we have been able to suggest any features that we may like adding, and support features that others have suggested, with very clear timelines of when features will be incorporated into the system, these upgrades are seamless and frequent. Not a bad word to say about Action1.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Action1 is helping my company manage endpoints from various businesses and individuals. It allows me to separate them and manage them individually or in mass. To handle larger companies, creating a new organisation easily helps keep things separate while quickly being able to switch.

**What do you like best about Action1?**

The simplicity. Action1 is easy to deploy, easy to manage, and doesn't require a lot of ongoing maintenance. Patch management, reporting, remote access, and software deployment are all available from a single cloud-based console, making day-to-day administration much more efficient.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

Like any platform, there are always features I'd like to see expanded. More advanced reporting options and additional automation flexibility would be welcome as our environment continues to grow, but none of those have been significant enough to affect our overall experience.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before Action1, patch management and endpoint maintenance required more manual oversight and took valuable time away from other IT responsibilities. Action1 gibes us a single platform to manage updates, monitor endpoint health, and deploy software. that has simplifies our daily workflow, reduced administrative overhead, and helped ensure our systems stay secure and compliant with much less effort.

**What do you like best about Action1?**

I like that Action1 is free and easy to deploy, which makes getting started a breeze. It’s fairly easy to understand and customize to fit my needs. The support and documentation are solid, providing a reliable foundation for any issues that arise. The better support and informative webinars are particularly beneficial, as the support team really understands the needs of modern system administrators without focusing on upselling.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

The remote access could use some improvements and feature additions. Also, there could be easier linking to running automation just reducing the number of clicks and improving the auto generated titles of the automations.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Action1 for remote access, update management, and inventory tasks. It solves security vulnerabilities, automates scripts, and is easy to deploy. It saves time and offers a single pane of glass, making it better than competitors.

I like that it also allows me to keep track of third-party software installations and updates and even has a large library of our LOB application stack already configured for updating / installation. In addition, I can securely and remotely install new programs as our users require them without giving them admin rights to their workstation(s)

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

I haven't found anything I dislike so far

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Many of our users have our phone software installed on their laptops so they don't need to be tethered to a desk to take phone calls. Action1 already had this program available for installation and updates were preconfigured saving me time in deployment when imaging new devices. In another instance, a user was having issues with PDF files not rendering properly in Edge - Action1 allowed me to quickly install Adobe Reader DC on this user's PC, connect to their PC remotely and set default file actions for opening PDF files - All this was done very quickly without having to drive 9 hours to see the individual user's PC.

**What do you like best about Action1?**

Control of Windows updates and a top down view of which third party software is out of date. Some third party programs don't auto update reliably or check for updates often enough. It's great to have one pane that highlights this and allows you to instantly push those updates to clients. Teh best surprise feature is built-in remote desktop to clients.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

Some programs can be installed in the user scope as opposed to the system scope. Action1 will see Firefox is very outdated and let you push the latest version and it will succeed however, because it installs the latest version at the system level, the outdated version installed in the user scope stays installed and outdated. I could be missing a way that Action1 has to resolve this but I believe the only work around is to physically go the client or use the built-in RDP and uninstall the outdated program from the user directory that it is installed in.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Primarily the best feature is how it graphically communicates how many clients have vulnerable software. It's still up to the administrator to take or schedule updates to be installed but I myself am a very visual learner and I think many others are. For those that aren't visual learners, having a single dashboard containing all the clients you're responsible for managing, still ensures that you're more likely to be aware of and update those clients' installed OS and software which obviously is a fundamental of keeping you clients secure.

**What do you like best about Action1?**

It’s straightforward to use, with a low learning curve for getting to grips with the system. Performance is really fast, and it’s easy to get your devices up to date in a short time frame. We were fully patched within 8 days, even with a mix of part-time and WFH endpoints. Onboarding was also very straightforward: we deployed the agent via InTune and were up and running quickly. For us, staying below the 200-endpoint marker made it a no-brainer; we’ll cross that threshold fairly soon, but the cost still feels very competitive.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

The only issue I’ve run into is getting “stale” devices (for example, when a user is on holiday or otherwise absent) updated. The stored “last seen” value updates, and those endpoints then drop out of the dynamic group I created before the automations have a chance to run. That said, it was easy enough to use the script tools to design a workaround. Other than that, I haven’t found anything else to dislike.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It has given me complete control over patching and software deployment and gives me all the detail I need to keep the endpoints vulnerability free. It makes a great companion to InTune and fills in several "holes" in deploying updates and security or ASR rules. The scripting library is a fantastic tool.

**Official Response from Kimberly Gonzales:**

> Hi Chris,

Thank you for sharing your positive experience with Action! We're thrilled to hear that you found the onboarding process straightforward and the performance fast. We appreciate your feedback as we are constantly looking to improve our system. Thanks again for choosing Action1!

**What do you like best about Action1?**

Insight and flexibility. Action1 has an easy-to-understand UI that’s intuitive to use. It provides clear insight into what it’s doing and when it’s doing it, along with the flexibility to use scripting and its peer-to-peer file sharing to make things work even when something isn’t officially supported yet. Being free for the first 200 endpoints, while still providing such a reliable, high-quality experience, is a clear value bonus.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

It’s clear they’re actively developing the product and regularly releasing new features, but it still isn’t as feature-complete as some of their competitors.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Windows updates, driver and patch management, troubleshooting and resolving stuck software updates, and better managing and remotely supporting end users are all areas where Action1 has helped.

**What do you like best about Action1?**

I love that Action1 will run scripts on endpoints even if they are not on the local network. I also love that Action1 will keep my endpoints updated and vulnerability-free. I love that Action1 supports software integrations and their consumer friendly pricing structure. They have responded every time I've made suggestions where the platform can improve. Automations run in the cloud and perform well.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

I would like event based automations to run upon device enrollment or being added to a group, such as specific software applications that specific departments use.
Some applications are set to deploy to endpoints but are packaged for servers. Sometimes custom applications are named to match what's installed, but do not detect the exact verbiage after completion somehow.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keeping Microsoft and Linux products updated and secure.

**What do you like best about Action1?**

Action1 gave me a broader view of all my endpoints that needed critical and non-critical updates, which saved me about 80% of the time I used to spend updating the software manually.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

What I’d like to see from Action1 is the ability to send updates to disconnected endpoint and have them applied automatically as soon as an endpoint is detected online.

Secondly any endpoint which does not check-in for 60 days, must automatically be removed from inventory so this endpoint does not add to the critical and non critical pending list.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It applies critical updates smoothly whenever they become available. This helps us a lot, especially when the annual VAPT is run on our endpoints.

**What do you like best about Action1?**

The ability to get top view of all of our endpoints such as missing updates and vulnerability scanning. The onboarding of our 400+ endpoints was seamless for us as a small team of 4. The performance of pushing out patch updates to all our end points has been amazing. We came from an on prem solution that was clunky and relied on the WSUS tool.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

There are no downsides when it comes to using Action1. Their current integrations, along with the future integrations they have planned, made it an easy choice for me.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Their UI makes it extremely easy to view all of our 400+ endpoints in a single pane. It also lets me quickly and efficiently report to our CIO on the current state of our patching.

**What do you like best about Action1?**

The ease of seeing what vulnerabilities/updates are needed then pushing them or automating them in minutes. We recently moved off of WSUS to A1, and I would never go back! It even replaced our GLPi instance for HW and SW inventories, which I didn't even know A1 did until we tried it out.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

I have a singular nitpick. In the reports section, it does not correctly sort percent free (%); It goes by first digit then second, meaning when sorting ascending 10 is higher up than 5. Though it does sort the free space (Gb) correctly. Other than that, I can't think of any! Oh, and maybe being able to set a different logo for light and dark mode for those who have white or black in the logo.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It completely replaced our WSUS machine and GLPI instance. It used to be up to the users (or me) when they needed programs updated, but since moving from WSUS, Action1 handles that! At least for a majority of the programs we use here.

**What do you like best about Action1?**

I find Action1 incredibly simple and effective for overseeing endpoints and ensuring they are patched or remediated. The vulnerabilities feature is really helpful because it shows what the vulnerabilities are, how severe they are, and how to remediate them, making it a great tool for learning. The overview provided is clear and brilliant, allowing me to contact end users easily. I also value the reporting feature, as they have figured out the basic reporting needed. The price saving for less than 200 endpoints being free is significant for me. Action1 is easier to use than other tools I have tried, and the setup was smoother than I expected. It worked effortlessly across different operating systems and hardware, providing instant visibility. This tool has made managing endpoints much more secure and efficient, especially in a time-poor environment. That's why I rate it a 10 out of 10, and it's truly amazing. I need to mention alerts. Again, a simple, brilliant tool that dumps in my inbox when 'stuff' happens. Good stuff or bad stuff.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

I really cannot see a downside. I was grumpy I had to be biometrically verified to do non standard patching, then I understood why - to protect my users from being hacked by a a non verified patcher.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Action1 to see user endpoints, patch them, and contact users effortlessly. It gives a quick overview, identifies vulnerabilities, and shows remediation steps. Its easy setup and free version for under 200 endpoints save costs while enhancing security.

**What do you like best about Action1?**

The biggest advantage is that the first 200 endpoints can be used for free—with full functionality. It offers excellent patch management for updates to individual operating systems and third-party software, as well as an easy-to-set-up repository for custom scripts. Action1 provides a clear overview of which clients still require patches and updates, the installation of that patches is done in a very quick responsetime. Overall, the user interface and general overview are excellent. Deploying the Action1 agent to clients is incredibly easy using a PowerShell script.
The onboarding to Action1 for my coworkers was more than easy beause the platform speaks for itself.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

the "bad point" is, that i get automatic logged off from the System after a quick time. But that is also a Security reason.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We can focus our work to the reagular work process because we can time our maintenance window automatically, especially to the afterwork time without downtime for our users. Its the stressless and cost-efficiency way.

I use Action1 every day. I’ve reached out to Customer Support a few times, and they’ve always been responsive and knowledgeable.

Overall, our environment feels safer because Action1 helps ensure I stay patched against vulnerabilities.

The more Action1 grows the stronger I feel about the protection they provide.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

We should be able to create a group by looking up endpoints, but in some instances this isn’t possible. This is still the only thing I am frustrated with.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Deployment of Applications to new and existing endpoints saves me a great deal of time and is very beneficial.

**What do you like best about Action1?**

I like that Action1 is simple to deploy and works well for patch management. It's easy to divide environments, which is really helpful for my company's corporate and PCI DSS settings. It's also great that since we're 100% cloud-based and coupled with Intune and PIM, we're able to easily support the solutions that have been deployed. I found the initial setup very straightforward using the link to download the .msi and deploying via Intune. Action1 fits our needs perfectly.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

The remote control component could be a bit more user friendly.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Action1 to support my company's corporate and PCI DSS environment. It provides a mechanism for separating the PCI DSS environment from the corporate environment and serves as a means of patch management.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

It could offer a bit more information when running scripts, but otherwise it saved me in a pinch. Finding help is a little hard, but still doable. The automated updates sometimes seem like they don’t work, especially on Mozilla Thunderbird.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Patch management was the main reason I chose this, and thanks to its features I can also monitor removable media activity and password failures.

**What do you like best about Action1?**

The thing I appreciate most about Action1 is its ability to truly simplify remote endpoint management, without requiring complex infrastructure or the use of a VPN. The platform is intuitive and quick to set up, and it allows for complete visibility on patches, installed software, vulnerabilities, and the overall status of devices.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

I don't like that Action1 doesn't have a real app, neither for PC nor for phone: having to use only the web console is inconvenient. Furthermore, the remote desktop function is often slow and unresponsive, which makes remote interventions more cumbersome and frustrating.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Discover more about vulnerabilities and keep PCs updated, without having to run around, but calmly.

**What do you like best about Action1?**

Action 1 has made it easy to track vulnerabilities and missing updates and the vast amount of device date is incredible. One feature that has helped is the installed software feature as it allows you to uninstall applications. Integration was very easy via install app on Windows and bash on Mac.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

I don't really have any dislikes. The current state of the machine is probably updated in minutes and sometimes you want it to be updated instantly.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were hoping for the best before Action 1 just covering the major system updates. Our eyes were opened to all we were missing. The user interface gives us a dashboard for a general oversight and lets you drill down to the more specific updates.

**What do you like best about Action1?**

Action1’s greatest value is that it offers a basic yet powerful suite of tools at no cost. For small and medium-sized businesses that may not be able to afford a traditional EMS, Action1 meets essential needs with fast, simple deployment and makes managing company devices much easier. The agent deployment is practically friction-less and so easy you can do it in a variety of ways whichever meets your needs.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

It’s hard to dislike anything about it, considering it’s free. If I had to point out one area to improve, it would be to make the pre-packaged software selection more extensive. Several popular apps, like Notion, aren’t included by default.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Action1 helps us solve a range of problems, such as keeping an inventory of active computers, generating reports on their hardware and software, auditing and reviewing issues through scripts, deploying apps and packages, and overall significantly increasing our control over our computers.

**Official Response from Kimberly Gonzales:**

> Thank you for your review! We're pleased to hear that Action1 is helping you solve various device management challenges and increasing your control over your computers.

At G2, we prefer fresh reviews and we like to follow up with reviewers. They may not have updated their review text, but have updated their review.

**What do you like best about Action1?**

Installing and using Action1 is very easy. Agent setup is fast, and you get immediate results. All endpoints are reviewed and updated within a very short amount of time. Creating scripts, reports, and custom packages is straightforward, and it also makes it easy to patch “special” types of software.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

I would like to have a mobile application so i don't depend on a computer. On the reports it would be useful to get minor versions of the installed software. The remote administration tool is a bit slow.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I used to rely on a different tool for patching and updating software, but Action1 is free for the number of endpoints I have and it does the job better.

**What do you like best about Action1?**

Action1 has transformed my daily workflow for managing nearly 100 endpoints in a non-Active Directory setup. Having automated vulnerability scanning, patch management, and built-in remote access in a single dashboard is a huge time-saver. The platform integrates seamlessly with PowerShell and standard MSI/ZIP packages, allowing me to deploy custom software, set up directory structures, and register Windows Services silently.

The onboarding process was straightforward, supported by excellent documentation that made setting up agent deployments easy. The built-in AI assistant and intelligent automations help quickly analyze deployment logs, summarize patch states, and streamline script troubleshooting. When an endpoint needs maintenance, the integrated remote access lets me connect immediately without switching tools.

The web UI is clean, and the lightweight agent runs silently with virtually no CPU impact. Offering full enterprise functionality free for the first 100 endpoints provides unmatched ROI, turning hours of manual, machine-by-machine maintenance into a smooth, centralized process.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

Honestly, my only regret is that I didn't discover Action1 sooner!

If I had to mention a minor technical point, agent deployment over local network paths in a non-domain (Workgroup) environment requires a quick manual batch script or local execution. However, once the agent is installed, the cloud connection is rock-solid and it works flawlessly.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before Action1, managing a network without Active Directory meant wasting countless hours on manual, machine-by-machine software updates, custom script deployments, and juggling separate remote access tools.

Action1 solves these challenges by centralizing patch management, vulnerability assessment, software deployment, and remote access into a single, unified dashboard. It automatically scans for outdated software and deploys critical OS and third-party updates across all endpoints simultaneously, eliminating security blind spots. Furthermore, its deployment engine allows me to package custom ZIP files with PowerShell scripts to silently set up directories, copy dependencies, and configure Windows Services in seconds.

Ultimately, it has completely eliminated tedious manual maintenance, dramatically improved our overall network security posture, and saved me hours of work every week by streamlining my entire IT administration workflow.

**What do you like best about Action1?**

For a small business like ours, Action1 has been a great solution, especially with 200 endpoints available for free while many other vendors charge significantly for basic functionality. In our experience, the platform has performed reliably and has given us much better visibility into which endpoint updates are needed, something we didn’t previously have a clear view of.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

I’ve noticed the dashboard UI can be a bit slow to update patch and vulnerability counts even after remediation is already completed. In other words, the older counts sometimes take longer than expected to refresh and show the updated numbers.

One feature that would be helpful is a way to flag, before a large deployment, when a specific patch isn’t applicable to particular endpoints.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Action1 provides our organization with an affordable platform that lets us consistently apply patches to endpoints across our systems.

**What do you like best about Action1?**

Onboarding devices is straightforward, and linking everything to our Entra tenant is refreshingly simple. I’ve been pleasantly surprised by the level of performance. A previous employer used a different product, and in my opinion Action1 performs much better.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

Compared to the tool I used at a previous job, I haven’t run into any specific “pain points” so far. I’m still evaluating the product and learning how to set up automations and remediation, so I may have more to share as I continue to get familiar with it.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Action1 has helped me stay on top of managing updates across our company servers and user machines. An added benefit is being able to push apps directly from Action1, which has been really useful. For example, I’ve had a few users who needed Adobe software, and I didn’t have to download the installer separately. That has saved me a lot of time.

  ### 42. Effortless Updates, Streamlined District Management with Action1

**What do you like best about Action1?**

I like that Action1 allows me to handle the entire district at one time, which means I can send updates at a convenient time for end users and get everything updated before the next day. It saves me from having to run to each computer individually to install updates, which is really efficient. I also find Action1 customizable and relatively easy to use. The initial setup went pretty well, and I was able to schedule it to automatically load onto all the computers. I enjoy that it's easy to set up and work with, and it's intuitive. I'd highly recommend Action1 to others, giving it a score of 10 out of 10.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

Sometimes I find the software to be slightly clunky. And that if I am looking for one specific computer it seems to be somewhat slow. It also asks me to go through several prompts. It just seems like it could be streamlined a little bit.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Action1 to ensure computers are up to date with security and software updates. It saves me from updating each computer individually by handling the entire district at once, which is convenient for end users and efficient for me.

**What do you like best about Action1?**

200 free endpoints with patch management. I thought I'd have to pay heavily for any kind of patch management so had started to write my own scripts. Was so pleased to find Action1.
The reporting is far more in depth than I could have made myself.
Supporting Linux is a huge bonus too, we're using Linux more within the org.
Running custom scripts is also a huge bonus, I don't have to wait for endpoints to come on the VPN to pick up a GPO script.
The UI is very responsive and easy to navigate.
Changes on endpoints are reflected in the UI very quickly. Previous RMM software I've seen only updated every few hours at best.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

Scary to see how much software was unpatched in our org. While Action1 is undoubtedly saving time and money it has created more work because now we need to work out how to patch and update or remove all this software we didn't know about.
I wish I could define custom software for audits. Sometimes portable app or similar are used in various places because there is no installer. Having Action1 pick up on these somehow would be great.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Reporting and monitoring update status for not just Windows but all software installed on an endpoint.
I can install or remove a lot of software without needing remote control of the endpoint, saving both me and the end user time and avoiding interruptions to a working day.
Our remote workers are now more visible because they don't need to be on the VPN to be audited or controlled, just being online is enough.

**Reviewed Date:** July 22, 2026

**What do you like best about Action1?**

What I like most about Action1 is its vulnerability scanning and the ability to remotely access computers, which makes it easier to troubleshoot users when they run into issues.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

The only thing I really dislike is that I can’t remote into Apple MacBooks. Aside from that, it’s been a huge improvement for my IT services for Windows users and for those who work remotely. For MacBook users, though, I still have to find other ways to provide support.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A huge problem I was having was finding easier ways to provide remote support to users. The 200 free endpoints were an awesome cost-saver to start with, and they also made onboarding much smoother for those who work remotely.

  ### 45. Simple, Powerful, and Efficient Endpoint Management

**Reviewed Date:** July 30, 2026

**What do you like best about Action1?**

What I like best about Action1 is its simplicity and effectiveness. The cloud-based platform is easy to deploy and manage, allowing me to quickly gain visibility into all endpoints without maintaining on-premises infrastructure. Patch management is reliable, remote access is fast and secure, and the interface is intuitive even for complex administrative tasks. It has significantly reduced the time required to keep systems up to date and respond to issues, making endpoint management much more efficient.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

While Action1 is an excellent platform overall, there are still a few areas that could be improved. Reporting and dashboard customization could be more flexible, especially for organizations that need detailed compliance reports. Some advanced automation and scripting capabilities are not as extensive as those found in larger enterprise management platforms. It would also be helpful to have more granular policy options and additional third-party software patching coverage. These are relatively minor points, and none of them outweigh the overall value of the product.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Action1 has helped us centralize endpoint management and automate patch deployment across our environment. Before using it, keeping systems updated and verifying patch compliance required significant manual effort. With Action1, we can quickly identify vulnerable devices, deploy operating system and third-party application updates, and remotely troubleshoot issues when needed. This has reduced administrative overhead, improved our security posture, and given us greater confidence that our endpoints remain compliant and protected.

At G2, we prefer fresh reviews and we like to follow up with reviewers. They may not have updated their review text, but have updated their review.

**What do you like best about Action1?**

I currently use Action1 for patch management, script deployment, and remote tech support. It has greatly simplified how I update my endpoints, ensuring that not only the OS gets updated, but also the apps, and it warns me about the dangers of outdated apps. I appreciate the very user-friendly GUI, which provides an easy way to connect to remote users and deploy remote scripts on my endpoints. Everything just works: the setup was easy, and I was able to learn how to use the software with little external assistance within a week.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

When connecting remotely, there are times when it has failed, and I've had to resort to using AnyDesk. Also, it's slow when it comes to switching monitors during remote connect. I'd like to see a Wake on LAN feature so that I can leave my endpoints in sleep mode on a remote site and also have the benefit of waking and updating them. I also couldn't get the AD Deployment tool provided to work, so I had to download the MSI and run it on the endpoints.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Action1 for patch management, script deployment, and remote support. It simplifies updating endpoints, including apps, with a user-friendly GUI. However, remote connection sometimes fails, and monitor switching is slow.

**What do you like best about Action1?**

I really like that Action1 allows me to manage endpoints from anywhere without needing VPN access. This feature is quite convenient as I'm able to work remotely or from another room in the office seamlessly. Additionally, having under 200 endpoints for free and having access to all the platform and support is a definite plus. The initial setup of Action1 was very easy and seamless, which I appreciate.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

More way to work with Linux.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Action1 for managing endpoints and patching servers. It solves patching and remote assistance problems. I can manage endpoints from anywhere without VPN, allowing seamless remote work. It complements WSUS when it struggles. Action1 is free for under 200 endpoints, providing full access and support.

**Official Response from Kimberly Gonzales:**

> Hi Jay,

We're thrilled to hear that Action1 is meeting your remote monitoring and management needs, from ease of deployment to advanced functionality. Your feedback about the Linux installer is duly noted and we will take it into consideration for future updates.

**What do you like best about Action1?**

The Action1 patch management platform is a brilliant solution for the never-ending fight with patches. The automations you can set up remove the headache of monitoring everything manually or having to rely on WSUS. The platform supports not only Windows, but also Mac, and it has recently added Linux as well. It’s also very easy to enroll new devices and place them into different groups so the automations apply the way you want.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

Once you get used to the platform (as any new product) there is nothing to complain about.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Action1 is taking the patching OS and app headache from me thanks to the automation provided thus saving my time for other tasks.

**What do you like best about Action1?**

I love how easy and fast it is to use even at first contact with the platform. It covers all our machines both Windows and Linux (Even Mac, but we don't use it) with it have a lot of built in features like scripts, remotely access or install uninstall softwares and updates, lots of pre made reports and the ability to make new. Not to mention you can use all features for free if you have less than 200 endpoints.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

Even though you can fine tune software some software identification through Software Repository, sometimes it flags a wrong software vulnerability because of a wrong software identification, like Firefox ESR which have two distinct versions.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have a paid AV with EDR that can also works with vulnerably identification and patch management and we thought is was ok, but after using Action1 we saw that the AV lacks identifying so many vulnerabilities that Action1 identifies and solve than so much efficiently. It solves important compliance gaps.

**What do you like best about Action1?**

The software inventory is extremely useful. I also really value the ability to deploy software remotely, along with the asset register that keeps track of all our laptops and servers.

**What do you dislike about Action1?**

It’s really frustrating that I have to enter a verification code sent to my email almost every time I try to log in. It makes the sign-in process feel unnecessarily repetitive and slows me down.

**What problems is Action1 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps us during audits because we can generate reports on our hardware inventory. It also makes it easier to deploy software in bulk and address vulnerabilities.
