As much as I enjoy using Postman, there are a few pain points worth mentioning.

The biggest frustration has been the gradual move of features behind the paid plan. Features that used to be free — like certain collaboration tools and increased collection runs — are now restricted unless you upgrade. For solo developers or small teams on a tight budget, that stings a bit. It feels like the product is slowly being nudged toward enterprise customers.

The app performance is another gripe. On older machines or when you have multiple large collections open, Postman can get noticeably sluggish. For a tool I have open all day, startup times and occasional UI freezes are more annoying than they might seem on paper.

I've also noticed that the shift to a cloud-first model hasn't been entirely smooth. Being required to log in to access your own collections felt like a step backward for developers who prefer keeping things local for security or compliance reasons. It caused some friction in our team when it was first introduced.

Lastly, the learning curve for advanced features like writing test scripts, chaining requests, or setting up monitors can be steeper than expected for newer developers. The documentation helps, but some of these features could use better in-app guidance.

The core problem Postman solves for me is fragmentation — before using it, API work was spread across too many places. Curl commands in the terminal, endpoints scribbled in Notion, authentication tokens copy-pasted from Slack messages, and test results that existed only in my head. One of the main challenges with ServiceNow App Engine is that while the platform promotes low-code development, more advanced customizations and complex workflows still require experienced ServiceNow developers or technical resources to implement properly.

We also found that the initial setup, governance planning, and application architecture required more effort than expected, especially when scaling workflows across multiple departments and integrating with existing enterprise systems.

Performance was generally stable, but highly customized applications and large workflows occasionally required optimization to maintain responsiveness and usability across teams.

Licensing and scaling costs can also become a consideration for organizations building multiple applications or expanding usage across broader business units.

The user interface is functional overall, but some configuration and administrative experiences still feel more IT-focused rather than fully business-user-friendly.

That said, once governance standards and development practices were properly established, the platform became much more effective for workflow automation and internal application development. The navigation panel can be little more user intuitive. When I was creating the Agent, my prompts were well received, understood and the Agent was created at jet speed. But I quite struggled to understand how to run and test the Agent. In today's Agentic AI era, a most common requirement is for us to quickly build Agents for MVP solutions and test them individually or together. UIpath makes it so easy to do that. The complexity ramps up very quickly once multiple Flows, Apex classes, permission sets, integrations, and approval chains start interacting with each other. Things can feel manageable at first but later on debugging automation issues can honestly become frustrating, especially in older orgs where different teams have added logic over time.

We’ve also run into situations in sandbox where overlapping Flows triggered the wrong actions or where similar classes behaved unexpectedly because of automation conflicts. That’s why I still don’t fully trust AI generated workflow suggestions unless I manually validate everything first.

For us, the biggest improvement has been reducing the amount of manual coordination between the operations, sales and support teams. Previously people were constantly switching between spreadsheets, Slack updates, reports, dashboards, and records just to understand what was happening with leads, approvals and pending actions.

Now, most of that workflow is centralized inside Salesforce. We rely heavily on Flows, approvals, notifications, reporting and automation and it has saved a lot of repetitive admin work, especially around lead routing, follow-ups and operational tracking.

Without the enterprise solution, having to contact support to enable some of the realm features has been mildy annoying, and QB is not a solution for storage en-masse. Even though we are pushing our data to our own cloud solution using QB as a middleware has been counting against our storage in our account analytics due to data retention. It allows us to create some pretty diverse logic to drive non-linear processes and interdependent processes. It allows for rapid prototyping of new solutions so that the business can do incremental change, and directly affect outcomes in the back of the house and the field. For example, after a partner bankruptcy , we utilized quick base to aggregate all of our files and compliance packages while our projects were being resold to another financier. The major benefit in that period was the rate at which IT could respond and help with developing an app to fulfill the need. The email editor occasionally takes a few extra seconds to load when working with larger templates. I also had to spend sometime understanding how certain automation settings work when I first started using the platform. It wasn't difficult, but there was a learning curve. EngageBay has made my life easier. Before using EngageBay, managing email campaigns and inquiry forms involved several separate tools and a lot of manual work. Once you scale past a certain point, the cracks start showing.
