"Rapid Low-Code App Building in a Unified Environment"
What do you like best about ServiceNow App Engine?

1. Low‑Code Development

App Engine enables creators of any skill level to rapidly build apps using drag‑and‑drop tools, templates, and guided interfaces.

2. Unified Environment

It is one place to design, build, test, deploy, and manage apps

It empowers both technical and non‑technical users to quickly build intelligent, enterprise‑grade apps Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ServiceNow App Engine?

App Engine is enterprise‑scale, feature‑rich, and deeply integrated across the Now Platform.

For teams that simply need small, lightweight apps, the platform can feel too heavy and too powerful.

Its comprehensive enterprise toolset and governance can make it more complex than needed for smaller or simpler applications.

The learning curve is lower than traditional development but not necessarily low compared to simpler low‑code competitors. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Flexible Low-Code Platform for Streamlined Automation"
What do you like best about ServiceNow App Engine?

I use ServiceNow App Engine to build low-code applications that automate business processes, manage data efficiently, and improve overall operational productivity. I really like its low-code capability, which enables rapid application development while still providing the flexibility to customize and scale as needed. The platform's reusability of components, role-based access control, and reporting capabilities stand out to me. The ability to quickly adapt applications to changing business needs is particularly valuable, and reports give clear insights which help in improving processes continuously. Setting it up was relatively easy thanks to good documentation and built-in tools. Overall, I would rate it 9/10 for its flexibility and low-code capability. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ServiceNow App Engine?

There is a learning curve for advanced features and debugging complex workflows can be improved. It can be improved with better error messages, clear logs, and step by step workflow tracing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"ServiceNow App Engine: Fast, Low-Code Apps on a Unified, AI-Powered Platform"
What do you like best about ServiceNow App Engine?

What I like most about ServiceNow App Engine is how it streamlines the creation of powerful business applications with a low-code approach, making development faster and more accessible. It brings everything—data, workflows, and integrations—together in one unified platform, which helps reduce complexity and keep work centralized. The added AI and automation further improve efficiency by cutting down on manual effort and repetitive tasks. Overall, it helps organizations innovate quickly while still maintaining scalability and security. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ServiceNow App Engine?

One limitation of ServiceNow App Engine is that more advanced customizations still require strong platform knowledge, which can create a steep learning curve for new users. Licensing and implementation costs may also be high, especially for smaller organizations. In addition, performance can sometimes be affected when applications become highly complex. Finally, while the platform is flexible overall, in certain edge cases it may still feel more constrained than a fully custom-built solution. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Simplifying Application Development with ServiceNow App Engine"
What do you like best about ServiceNow App Engine?

What I like most about ServiceNow App Engine is how easy it makes building applications and automating processes with minimal coding. It allows developers to quickly create forms, workflows, and integrations, which helps solve business problems much faster. I also like that everything stays within the one place, making it easier to manage data, security, and governance. Overall, it really helps developers deliver solutions quickly while keeping things simple and clear. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ServiceNow App Engine?

Troubleshooting flows, integrations, or unexpected behavior can sometimes take a while. As requirements expand, certain configurations and workflows can become fairly complex to manage and maintain. Performance tuning and debugging can also be difficult, especially when there are many customizations involved. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy Low-Code App Development with ServiceNow Integration"
What do you like best about ServiceNow App Engine?

What I like most about ServiceNow App Engine is its ease of use and ease of implementation. It allows us to quickly build applications and automate processes using low-code tools. It also has a good number of features and provides easy integration with other ServiceNow modules like ITSM and CMDB, which makes development faster. Because of this, the frequency of use is high in our daily work when building internal solutions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ServiceNow App Engine?

One thing I feel about ServiceNow App Engine is that sometimes it becomes a little complex because of the large number of features. For simple use cases the ease of use is good, but for advanced requirements we still need scripting, which reduces the ease of implementation for new developers. "ServiceNow App Engine: Fast, User-Friendly Low-Code App Building with AI Assist"
What do you like best about ServiceNow App Engine?

ServiceNow App Engine is very easy and user-friendly to use. It saves developers a lot of time when creating applications with its visual drag-and-drop interface, and it requires very little coding. With the help of ServiceNow App Engine, even citizen developers can build, automate, and deploy applications rapidly. It includes Generative AI assistance like Now Assist and also integrates with existing ServiceNow data. Overall, it can be used frequently by both developers and admins. We can also create unlimited custom tables. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ServiceNow App Engine?

ServiceNow App Engine licensing is too expensive, and even if we get it, we still have limited customization and flexibility. If an application is built poorly, it becomes very challenging to maintain, which can then lead to issues during ServiceNow upgrades. Having a lot of custom tables can make this even more difficult. Sometimes, moving updates from one instance to another can also be challenging. If the solution isn’t properly architected, there’s a real risk that it becomes overly complex. "My experience building custom applications with ServiceNow App Engine"
What do you like best about ServiceNow App Engine?

In my experience working with ServiceNow App Engine, building custom applications is easier because most development components—such as tables, flows, scripts, and UI policies—are available in one place. Tools like Flow Designer and App Engine Studio make implementation more straightforward and help reduce the amount of scripting required. I frequently use Flow Designer for automation, and I also use the mobile development capabilities to create mobile experiences. The platform’s integration options, such as APIs and IntegrationHub, are useful as well when connecting external systems. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ServiceNow App Engine?

In my experience building applications in App Engine, configurations such as UI Policies, Client Scripts, and Business Rules appear in a single list across tables rather than being grouped by table. As applications grow, this makes navigation more difficult and less intuitive. Also, when there are many configurations spread across scripts, flows, and rules, it becomes harder to understand dependencies, trace what is connected to what, and troubleshoot issues efficiently, which can be time-consuming for developers. "Trusted service provider for workflow automation"
What do you like best about ServiceNow App Engine?

The implementation of AI in ServiceNow has been a valuable addition so far, we have been able to automate a high level of previously manual labor. We also had a few incidents which were solved quickly by the team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ServiceNow App Engine?

ServiceNow has quite a learning curve, onboarding especially less tech-savvy team members has been a longer process than we had anticipated. It would be great if more focus was on intuitive, minimal design as some sections are very overwhelming. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Rapid Low-Code App Building with Seamless ServiceNow Suite Integration"
What do you like best about ServiceNow App Engine?

I am a user of ServiceNow App Engine in my role developing internal tools and workflow automation for a mid-sized organization located in Italy. Although the role I played was technically oriented versus administrative in nature, I am responsible for working with already developed applications to customize existing workflows and support internal teams by modifying forms, logic, and processes to meet business requirements.

The most appealing aspect of the ServiceNow App Engine is the ability to build and modify applications quickly and easily without having to build everything from the ground up. By using a low code platform, I can create workflows, forms, and approval processes much more rapidly than by using traditional software development tools. Additionally, I can also have sufficient flexibility to address complex logic requirements as needed.

Another benefit of ServiceNow App Engine is the high level of integration between all elements of the ServiceNow Suite. All users, data, permissions, and workflows are interconnected, thus minimizing duplication and eliminating manual effort. This results in fewer errors, faster turnaround times, and greater consistency throughout our internal tools. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ServiceNow App Engine?

One disadvantage of the platform is that it appears to be complicated, primarily for users who are not familiar with ServiceNow. There are many different options available on this platform, along with many different configurations of each of those options, and figuring out the proper places to make your changes will require time to learn. If there is no onboarding or documentation, it can feel as though you are being dumped into an overwhelming situation.

Another disadvantage is that, although low-code reduces the time needed for developers to create applications, some customization could still require more technical knowledge than we expect. Debugging very complex workflows may not be as easy as it seems, and repair time may be longer than expected, as well as decreased performance if your application’s design wasn’t done correctly. "Easy Low-Code Tool for Quick POCs and Internal Projects"
What do you like best about ServiceNow App Engine?

It’s easy to use, even for colleagues without much development experience. For product owners, it’s a good option to try out as a POC or for an internal project. With low-code capabilities and integration with flow-designer, it becomes easier to integrate and build something functional. One of the best thing is, we can explore it in our developer pdi. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ServiceNow App Engine?

While the Workspaces and Portals are highly functional, they come with some design constraints. We can’t do a lot of customization, and the licensing cost is an added dependency as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
