There are 2 small downsides to using Xero for our company. First, they are not able to integrate with the credit union that we use for our checking/savings accounts. It adds an additional step each month of downloading the transactions into the software and therefore, we do not have up to date information daily. The other downside is that they do not have the option of setting up a finance charge for late payments on sales invoices. We have to manually calculate that finance charge and add it. The use of Xero has created a huge time-saving factor around the accounting/bookkeeping aspect of my job. Updating a customer's address is annoying. If you've already created an invoice or sales order and need to update the address or contact details, you need to recreate the invoice or sales order for it to grab the new details. It doesn't automatically update. Setting up a recurring invoice requires you to add the customer as a recurring customer. If the auto payments aren't run very early in the morning and you have an open invoice for that customer, it will pay all invoices if that customer was set up as recurring. There really isn’t much to dislike about Unanet. However, when it comes to Unanet support, I do wish they could meet with me on the same day I have a question. The support experience can be quite inconsistent. At times, I connect with someone who immediately understands the problem and resolves it quickly. During month-end close, when a client had entity-specific reconciliation requirements and ad-hoc adjusting entries, FloQast’s standardized checklist and reconciliation formats didn’t fully accommodate these exceptions. This led to maintaining parallel Excel trackers outside the system, increasing manual effort and the risk of version-control issues, which partially offsets the efficiency benefits FloQast aims to provide. FloQast addresses the challenge of disorganized and manually driven close activities by bringing all close tasks, reconciliations, and reviews into one structured platform. In an RTR role, this helps eliminate scattered trackers and constant follow-ups.

They should extend the customization of the invoices, bills and other financial documents to meet every customers expectations. If you are looking at your first ERP, think long term. Cutting corners to save some money will cost you more in the long run when you find you have to upgrade to Costpoint; many cheaper systems do not handle the data in the way necessary to meet the requirements for government contractors. We are able to do a lot of automation which reduces the workload on our employees. This has enabled us to take on a larger workforce without having to hire more support staff as many of the manual processes we performed in the past are now being handled by the automation. Our company facilitates peer-to-peer lending and we are perhaps the largest in the country. So naturally we handle a large number of transactions on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
