The biggest problem that Xero is fixing is the part where all the bills that I have paid are all over the place and for me to make sure that everything is traceable across my bank transactions, Xero helps me by already suggesting matched bills. The fixed asset module is not internally developed, and it feels clunky and not very intuitive. We are in the real estate business and have a lot of fixed assets, and we’ve struggled to find solutions that work well for our workflow. They also seem slow to roll out new features. I understand they are working on a new, internally developed fixed asset platform that will be fully integrated with the Sage workflow, but it hasn’t been rolled out yet, and I believe it has been well over a year—possibly two. The web version of QBO is the most reliable. I find the iOS/iPad versions to be buggy and slow, particularly, the bank transactions. Loading is slow, and working with the categorizing functionality is incomplete. While the interface is limited due to the size of some devices, more options could be available via menus. When we moved from a sole prop to a corp, we needed double-entry accounting, and at the time, our current platform didn't support it. Due to the reputation that QBO had, we decided to try it. It connects with our banks reasonably simply, although errors do come up a few times a month. The support teams are pretty good at documenting the issue and providing updates and resolutions, too. - A lot of the material in the Learning Hub and help documentation is outdated. Trying to follow the steps is often guesswork as they no longer relate to the current system

Honestly, there isn’t much to dislike, but the process of migrating from our old system was complex, especially consolidating customers from multiple databases. Integrating new acquisitions and handling multi-currency, multi-tenant setups required extra effort and some creative workarounds, but Acumatica’s flexibility helped us address these challenges. Scalability and flexibility are the biggest strengths for us. Because of features like attributes, we’ve been able to design the underlying data structure so it can live in both big and small buckets, depending on what we need. That makes it easy to add something like a brand attribute for a new product, and then have the data automatically flow throughout the data ecosystem we’ve created. The UI/UX is overall really clean and easy to use. That said, there are a few improvements that could make simple drill-downs or filtering data a bit easier and more intuitive. The data output reports aren’t easy to work with, and we need additional bolt-on solutions just to get Excel downloads that are actually usable for our reporting and analysis. This includes Costpoint Enterprise Reporting or Business Intelligence because the filter prompts are sometimes confusing and cannot be used quickly and efficiently. Costpoint is a leader in project-based reporting. It is easy to manage all types of transactions by projects, report on them and still be able to easily use the same data for US GAAP reporting. Being able to automatically burden project costs and compute revenue is invaluable to CAS compliance while being able to provide transparency to external auditors, including DCAA. We were able to use the Pools functionality to automate intercompany eliminations, taking days off our close cycle while making the underlying data more agile for re-orgs or historical reporting.
