Vantagepoint is a good comprehensive platform for financial, billing, project management and reporting that just is not found in other applications we have looked at compared to it. Having an all-in-one place is a time saver when our users understand how to get the most out of it. The accounting team is probably the most frustrated with our switch to Unanet GovCon. There are UI annoyances, like having to take hand away from the keyboard often to 'click' instead of using tab. Some critical functionalities are lacking or not well-executed: ACRN billing is non-existent, semi-automatic bank reconciliation would be nice - all manual today, ACH file generation is painful, and several tasks require external spreadsheets like leave balance liability, fixed assets and depreciation, and EBITDA. The connector from ERP to ADP does not work well, if at all, and we're close to canceling it. The initial setup / migration was incredibly difficult, time consuming, and expensive. Costpoint is a leader in project-based reporting. It is easy to manage all types of transactions by projects, report on them and still be able to easily use the same data for US GAAP reporting. Being able to automatically burden project costs and compute revenue is invaluable to CAS compliance while being able to provide transparency to external auditors, including DCAA. We were able to use the Pools functionality to automate intercompany eliminations, taking days off our close cycle while making the underlying data more agile for re-orgs or historical reporting.
