“Great UTM and Easy for Network Administration”
What do you like best about Sophos Firewall?

The product offers a comprehensive set of features, including firewall capabilities, load balancing, SD-WAN, application filtering, and web filtering. Its administrative interface is user-friendly, making it easy to implement and manage. SSL VPN is supported, and the reporting tools provide insights into daily usage. Integration with other systems is straightforward, and the support team is available 24x7 with an escalation matrix in place to address any issues promptly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sophos Firewall?

I have been using the Sophos firewall for over five years, and I find that the amount of administrative work required for reporting is minimal. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Sophos Firewall solving and how is that benefiting you?

Sophos offers top-notch cybersecurity that stands out for its seamless integration, user-friendly interface, and effective protection. I have found their support to be responsive, with quick resolutions and strong product knowledge, especially in areas like LAN, WAN, SSL, and VPN. Our experience with Sophos Central has been excellent—it provides a single cloud-based management solution for all our Sophos next-generation technologies, including endpoint, server, mobile, firewall, ZTNA, and email. The unified management console, real-time information sharing between products, and automated incident response have made managing cybersecurity much simpler and more efficient for us.

Sophos has been especially beneficial for environments like ours that rely on BYOD. We use the Captive Portal and have integrated our NAS into the infrastructure. Our BYOD-ready setup was designed, deployed, and implemented in-house with Sophos's support, and we take great pride in what we've achieved. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

“Revolutionalised Our Workflows”
What do you like best about NinjaOne?

Automations work as expected, patching (software and OS) is reliable, Ninja Remote is easy to use for both us and end user, remote powershell/cmd works well too. (There's now even background remote so we can log on and view event viewer for example without disturbing end user). NinjaOne is very easy to set up, customer service is fantastic and I often hear from my account manager who wants to check in with us. Active Discord community where both other customers and NinjaOne staff are on hand to assist.

I like how I can see everything in one portal and that they are always adding new features. Even better is we can SSO onto the platform and it supports passkeys!

We are using it for documentation and our IT knowledge base and it is good to have everything in one place for our techs.

I have recently started testing backups with my NAS and this was so easy to set up, I am speechless! We use it to backup our servers too and even doing an image back up lets us go on and download individual documents for when a user has 'misplaced' something and we don't want to do a full server recovery. Although it does let us do a full recovery too easily using the tool that NinjaOne provide. That has worked well with our vSphere environment and provided a full server image recovery.

I use NinjaOne every day and I honestly would be lost without it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about NinjaOne?

Devices that are offline are shown as unhealthy on the dashboard which I would prefer to not be included in the statistics. It does let me customise other health information though which is good.

I wish I could run patching/scripts on a scheduled basis if its missed, I think this is an upcoming feature.. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is NinjaOne solving and how is that benefiting you?

OS and Software patching and showing at a glance which devices this has failed on, and most importantly for us being able to automate scripts on devices which helps us keep other aspects of the workstations up to date.

I also now have it monitoring my online servers as an uptime monitor to see if they are offline so I can find out before my users tell me.

It is also providing us with backups and I can quickly access them via NinjaOne to download a file a user has mistakenly deleted. There is also an option to do a full image restore which we have been able to do when transferring a broken workstation into a virtual machine which is something we would not have been able to easily do before NinjaOne.

We also use it for MDM to ensure that company owned iPhones are being updated and we can remote wipe them and change passcodes if users forget them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

“Atera’s All-in-One Dashboard Saves Me Time—Seamlessly Jumping from Tickets to Remote Sessions”
What do you like best about Atera?

What I like most about Atera is its unified, all-in-one dashboard. As a freelancer, I don’t have time to juggle five different apps for remote access, system monitoring, and ticketing, so having everything in one place makes a big difference. I especially love that I can jump into a client’s machine directly from a ticket or an alert easily, which is a huge time-saver. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Atera?

The biggest drawback for me is that the mobile app feels pretty limited compared with the web dashboard. Also, while the AI features are a nice addition, they’re locked behind a paid add-on. That can make the overall cost feel a bit steep for a solo freelancer, especially if you want the 'latest and greatest' tools. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Atera solving and how is that benefiting you?

The biggest problem Atera solves for me is tool fatigue and fragmentation. Before Atera, I was constantly jumping between different apps for remote desktop access, doing patch updates manually, and using a separate system just to track my time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

“Complete visibility on network activity”
What do you like best about ExtraHop?

What I like most about ExtraHop is the ability to monitor and analyze all traffic passing through the network. Generally, companies have strong endpoint controls through tools like EDR; however, network is often limited to firewalls with intrusion detection and intrusion prevention rules. Where I find ExtraHop excels is through complete network visibility by mapping assets, learning network traffic and spotting anomalies, and giving Security Operations teams visibility into what is occurring on their network.

ExtraHop is easy to deploy through either and appliance on physical networks our through a virtual appliance in the cloud. The Customer Success teams are deeply knowledgable and provide great support to customers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ExtraHop?

Not a dislike but a feature I would like to see is ExtraHop move towards prevention. Currently, the product is good at identifying and detecting suspicious or malicious activity. Prevention can be achieved through integration with tools but it would be nice to have these native to ExtraHop. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is ExtraHop solving and how is that benefiting you?

Whenever we perform penetration tests, ExtraHop is always the first tool to detect the activity. Often times, the penetration testers will start their campaigns performing reconnaissance and trying to remain stealthy. Because they are not attempting to exploit vulnerabilities at this stage and may be using legitimate system tools, these actions would usually go unnoticed. By inspecting all network traffic, ExtraHop is quick to determine unusual activity on the network host even if it is not a managed device. The network traffic can be inspected by SOC teams and actions can be taken to contain the suspicious device. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

“Solid product backed by a very engaged company that wants our input and takes actions on it”
What do you like best about Entuity?

The deployment of ENA has allowed us to retire multiple other products and reduce the number of management IPs we have to configure in SNMP from 7-9 down to just two. Since that initial deployment, we have expanded it's use globally we allowed us to retire an additional 7 tools.

Possibly more than technical side, the relationship we have been able to build with the owners, Park Place, and the level of access to development and their senior leadership team as mean that we continue to get to steer direction on new features in the product to make sure it fits our needs as a service provider. I believe this is the best partnership we have had with any vendor in our history. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Entuity?

The biggest challenge is lack of name recognition as we leverage ENA as part of the services that we provide to our client base. From targeted marketing or more highly visible partnerships, the Entuity name needs more recognition in the IT Network world. They were purchased by Park Place a few years ago which has helped in some areas but not in the area of name recognition in the monitoring space.

One other area of concern, which is likely true with many vendors, but something we didn't used to see with the Entuity folks is they tend to defer instead of just coming out and saying 'no' to some questions. If we are asking for them to support something new that doesn't make sense to them we would appreciate a more open and honest answer. I recently met with their executive team and got those answers that their engineers will no longer provide. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Entuity:

Do a trial and work with the sales engineers. As a hosting company we have a very large and complex network and produces situations that they could not handle. The sales engineers immediately took those to development and in roughly one week we had a custom hot-fix that addressed all of our concerns. And to our delight, all of those changes were included in the GA product release to the public. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Entuity solving and how is that benefiting you?

The biggest has been tool consolidation. When we are supporting a client that is having a performance problem, the ability to go to a single console to see all the network views that we care about (instead of half a dozen different products) goes a long way to reduce the time to resolution. Then on top of that are all the event management rules we can leverage to control unwanted noise and out of the box integration to our preferred enterprise management tool, BMC TrueSight.

Another major gap that we have used Entuity to fill is to have regular backups of network equipment configurations across many brands. There are still some gaps but it is narrowing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

“Effortless Network Monitoring with Powerful Features and Low Maintenance”
What do you like best about Observium?

I started with a free community edition, which was great for testing. Eventually, I upgraded to the professional edition for daily updates and real-time alerting features. I get it at an affordable price, and I feel it's a solid investment. Low maintenance. Once it's up and running, it just works. It's been running smoothly for over a year with minimal intervention. Clean web interface, I can drill down into device performance, historical graph, and spot trends easily. The good thing is that it can handle and monitor any networking device via SNMP, so it is very easy for our monitoring team to handle multiple types of network devices. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Observium?

Reporting isn't good. Alerting setup is a bit complex. I had to dig through the documentation to get the email notification to work properly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Observium solving and how is that benefiting you?

A few months ago a sudden spike in one of our core network switches. Observium flagged the interface as saturated, and I tracked it back to a misconfigured backup job. Without Observium, I probably wouldn't have caught it until users started complaining. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

“Sensor Factory Makes Complex SLAs Easy with a Clear Green/Red Health Metric”
What do you like best about Paessler PRTG?

The "Sensor Factory" sensor is the secret sauce that nobody talks about. Most people just use the default SNMP or WMI sensors, but when you have a complex SLA where you need to show "Application Health" based on five different variables (e.g., a mix of Ping, SQL query response, and a specific Windows Service status), the Sensor Factory lets you write custom boolean logic to create a single "Success/Fail" metric. It turns a cluttered dashboard into a clean "Green/Red" light for management Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Paessler PRTG?

The "Ajax GUI" feels like a time capsule from 2012. While it’s functional, the way it handles "Libraries" and "Maps" is unnecessarily clunky. If you want to move a group of 50 sensors to a different probe, you can’t just drag-and-drop them in a modern, snappy way; you often end up clicking through nested menus that feel sluggish once your sensor count crosses the 5,000 mark. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Paessler PRTG solving and how is that benefiting you?

The "Finger-Pointing" Fix: We had a recurring issue where the DB team blamed the Network team for slow queries. By deploying a Remote Probe inside the DMZ and using a "Packet Sniffer" sensor specifically for TDS (SQL) traffic, I proved that the latency was happening at the application layer, not the wire. It saved us about 10 hours of weekly "war room" meetings. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

“Easy, Zero-Trust Secure Access with Simple User Management and Reliable Performance”
What do you like best about NordLayer?

What I like best about NordLayer is how easy it makes secure access for teams. It doesn't feel like a traditional VPN that needs a lot of setup and maintenance. Things are clean and straightforward. The user management is very simple. Adding users, assigning access, and removing users can be done quickly without confusion. This is very useful when teams change or grow. I also like the modern zero-trust approach. Users only get access to what they actually need, not the entire network. This feels safer and more controlled. From a backend and infra perspective, NordLayer works well for protecting internal tools, dashboards, and services without exposing them to the public internet. The dashboard is clean and easy to understand. Even non-networking people can understand what is going on, which reduces dependency on a single expert. Another strong point is stable performance. Connections feel reliable and fast, even when many users are connected. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about NordLayer?

One downside is that advanced configuration options are limited. If you want very deep or custom networking rules, it may feel restrictive. Pricing can feel a bit high for small teams, especially when compared to basic VPN tools. Some features require time to fully understand, especially if the team is new to zero trust concepts. The product works very well, but debugging rate connection issues can still take time. Another small drawback is that logs and advanced analytics could be more detailed for deeper troubleshooting. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is NordLayer solving and how is that benefiting you?

NordLayer solves the problem of secure access for modern, distributed teams. Traditional VPNs were built for offices, not for remote-first teams and cloud systems. The biggest benefit is simplicity with security. I don't need to design complex network rules or manage VPN servers. NodeLayer handles most of that for me. It helps reduce security risks by limiting access based on roles and identity. Even if credentials are compromised, access is still controlled and limited. From a backend and operations point of view, the NoderLayer keeps internal services private. APIs, admin panels, and databases don't need public exposure. Another major benefit is easy onboarding and offboarding. New team members can get access in minutes, and leaving users can be removed instantly. It supports remote work very well. Team members can securely access systems from anywhere without complicated setup. NordLayer also helps with compliance and audits. Centralized access control and visibility make reviews much easier. It reduces operational overhead. No need to manage VPN infrastructure, patch servers, or rotate certificates manually. Another benefit is consistency. Access behavior stays the same across locations, devices, and teams, which avoids confusion. It improves incident response. If something looks risky, access can be restricted or revoked immediately. Norlayer also supports scaling without pain. As teams or systems grow, security doesn't become harder to manage. It helps reduce developer friction. As a backend developer, I don't have to constantly think about IP whitelisting or temporary access rules. Things just work once access is given. NordeLayer makes environment separation safer. Access to staging, production, and internal tools can be clearly separated, which reduces the chance of human mistakes. It works well with cloud-based systems. Whether services are on AWS, GCP, or internal servers, NORDLayer fits naturally into a cloud-first setup. The platform encourages better security habits without forcing strict or painful workflows on the team. It reduces the need for shared credentials. Each user has their own controlled access, which is safer and easier to track. The setup feels future-proof. As security needs to change, NordLayer already follows modern best practices like identity-based access. It gives peace of mind during external access scenarios, such as vendors or short-term collaborators, because access can be limited and time-bound. It saves time during onboarding and offboarding. When someone joins or leaves the team, access can be added or removed quickly, touching multiple systems. It lowers the risk of accidental exposure. even if someone's device is compromised. Access is still controlled through identity and policies. The dashboard makes it easy to understand who has access to what without digging through configs or documentation. It works quietly in the background. Once set up, developers don't need to think about it daily, which is ideal when focusing on backend work. It helps teams stay audit-ready. Access logs and user activity are available when needed, without extra tooling or manual tracking. It reduces dependency on the office network. Team members can work securely from anywhere without needing a fixed IP or VPN setup. It helps avoid misconfigurations by providing a clear default, which is useful when setting things up quickly. It gives peace of mind during deployments because access rules are already in place and don't need last-minute changes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

“Excellent for Integrations, Despite Sensitive Alerts”
What do you like best about Site24x7?

I really liked the platform's interface; it was very intuitive when performing integrations. I also appreciate that the documentation is well-structured and offers clear step-by-step guides to facilitate the process. Another strong point is the automatic generation of reports, which saves significant management time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Site24x7?

What I liked least was the volume of alerts received via email, as they were very repetitive. The default thresholds seem to be too sensitive, which generates unnecessary notifications. Additionally, I feel that the minimum requirement of 16 GB of RAM for the probe can be a bit complicated or restrictive depending on the available infrastructure. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Site24x7 solving and how is that benefiting you?

Site24x7 has effectively solved the problem of complex and time-consuming device integrations. In the past, setting up monitoring could be difficult, but the platform's intuitive interface and step-by-step documentation have streamlined the process. This benefits us by significantly reducing the time spent on configuration and allowing us to deploy monitoring across our infrastructure much faster.

Additionally, it has eliminated the burden of manual reporting. The automatic generation of reports ensures we always have up-to-date visibility into system performance without manual effort. This benefits the team by freeing up time to focus on resolving issues rather than gathering data. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

“Reliable Remote Access with Ease and Flexibility”
What do you like best about TeamViewer?

I really like TeamViewer's ease of use and reliability. The setup process is straightforward, allowing for quick start of remote sessions without complex configurations. Its stable connection quality is impressive, even on average internet connections. I appreciate the secure remote access it offers, which gives me confidence when connecting to sensitive systems. The built-in file transfer feature is a big plus, eliminating the need for third party tools, and the session management is well integrated, making it a dependable tool for day to day remote support and system access. These features help me start support sessions quickly, even with non technical users, and secure connections ensure troubleshooting can be completed without frequent interruptions. The tool has helped reduce setup time and improved my productivity by allowing me to provide quick assistance without requiring a lot of technical setup. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about TeamViewer?

One area that could be improved is pricing, especially for individual users or small teams, as the cost can feel high compared to some alternatives. Licensing rules can also be a bit restrictive and sessions may occasionally be flagged incorrectly which can interrupt workflows. Additionally, performance can vary on very low bandwidth connections, where lag or reduced responsiveness becomes noticeable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is TeamViewer solving and how is that benefiting you?

“Netbeez taking network monitoring to the next level”
What do you like best about NetBeez Network Monitoring?

Aside from the simplicity of the management console, the data aside form standard logs and snmp traps is helpful to the health of my network and trouble shooting. Speed and feeds aren't as important as they were 5 years ago. It's an application centric world and Netbeez is the only solution I found which will allow me to not only get a hearbeat on my network, but a simple to use image of the communication of my apps not only in the Data Center but also in the Hybrid Cloud world. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about NetBeez Network Monitoring?

There really is nothing I do not like about Netbeez, the platform, and the management console. The HTML 5 based management console is cutting edge and simple to use. Easy for an IT generalist to navigate and create targets for alarms to help the business. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering NetBeez Network Monitoring:

I would highly recommend Netbeez as they provide a view that you cant get with any normal network/infrastructure monitoring platform. Simple to us, simple to understand the issues, and gives you the ability to look at the events and targets from any type of network from wireless to hardwired to a virtual appliance!! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is NetBeez Network Monitoring solving and how is that benefiting you?

We have had issues with engineers making changes in the network and not validating that if a routing change is up and all the network services look good, but what about the users. Can they reach the apps, are the routes to the internet apps present, can my users access the internal apps. too many times we make changes and the route table is full but the users can't connect to an application. Netbeez allows us to check the sanity of all local services at each site quickly to insure 100% operation of our apps Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

“Dependable Cloud NGFW with Fast Marketplace Deployment Licensing and Visibility Take Planning”
What do you like best about FortiGate-VM NGFW?

I like FortiGate-VM NGFW because it provides a dependable security gateway for cloud workloads. Deployment through AWS and Azure marketplaces is quick, and it integrates well into hub and spoke or transit VPC/VNet designs. It supports strong routing control along with firewall policies, so traffic governance and security happen in one place. The ability to standardize rules across multiple environments helps when scaling cloud infrastructure and keeping security consistent during rapid growth. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about FortiGate-VM NGFW?

Cloud networking and licensing can be tricky at first, especially when enabling advanced inspection features. Monitoring is solid, but deeper cloud native visibility often requires pairing it with external logging or analytics platforms. Cost can increase as throughput and subscription services expand, so sizing needs to be planned carefully. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is FortiGate-VM NGFW solving and how is that benefiting you?

It solves the problem of controlling and securing inbound and outbound cloud traffic at scale. By acting as a centralized enforcement point, it reduces exposure, improves segmentation, and simplifies managing connectivity between cloud and on-prem systems. This results in safer deployments and smoother cloud operations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
