Hardware monitoring software facilitates the monitoring and tracking of hardware performance. This visibility enables users to identify and solve any potential performance issues as well as track changes in the hardware’s operational capacity over time. Such transparency is made possible by monitoring elements—such as CPU and GPU temperature, fan speeds, voltages, and more—and then comparing the monitored items to the ideal performance benchmarks of the hardware itself.

Hardware monitoring tools are used by IT and development administrators to help maintain computational performance and pinpoint issues to prevent downtime and replace parts when necessary.
