At its core, the software simply collects data. However, where the software truly shines is the flexibility that comes along with that. The Netbeez team is very good at taking our data reporting and monitoring needs and quickly turning them into whatever dashboard/report we need. They're also very good at helping us figure out what would look good/be helpful when we don't have a clearly defined layout ourselves. It's very difficult to find something to dislike, because I feel confident that anything we would want changed, the Netbeez team would be able to accommodate it. Our organization's workers are primarily remote, and their roles very often are ones that don't come with a necessary proficiency in technology. Therefore, it is often the case that home internet/router diagnosis falls entirely on us. This tool is essential to being able to gather objective troubleshooting data among the sea of subjective reporting we get from our users to determine where the actual cause of network interruptions lies. I love that NetBeez Network Monitoring is very competitively priced and easy to use. The service is second to none, which has been a major plus. The tool also helps serve as a good starting point for diagnosing further issues, allowing me to delve into network devices or servers as needed based on the issues NetBeez documents. Aside from the simplicity of the management console, the data aside form standard logs and snmp traps is helpful to the health of my network and trouble shooting. Speed and feeds aren't as important as they were 5 years ago. It's an application centric world and Netbeez is the only solution I found which will allow me to not only get a hearbeat on my network, but a simple to use image of the communication of my apps not only in the Data Center but also in the Hybrid Cloud world. The HTML 5 based management console is cutting edge and simple to use. Easy for an IT generalist to navigate and create targets for alarms to help the business. Simple to us, simple to understand the issues, and gives you the ability to look at the events and targets from any type of network from wireless to hardwired to a virtual appliance!! We have had issues with engineers making changes in the network and not validating that if a routing change is up and all the network services look good, but what about the users. Can they reach the apps, are the routes to the internet apps present, can my users access the internal apps. too many times we make changes and the route table is full but the users can't connect to an application. The solution is simple and commodity hardware-based, with VM options for situations where one has a VM capability at the edge. They are easy to set up, easy to deploy, and the support is top-notch. It also allows not only for wired but wireless edge monitoring, and if there is an issue/technology in the world today that needs extra diagnostics, it's wifi. NetBeez IS looking at this, and it is only true of the lower end hardware. The Gig-speed Bee does not have this issue. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. Recommendations to others considering NetBeez Network Monitoring: In any classic environment, where there is a remote office environment of any kind, this is the perfect scenario for using a NetBeez. If you have switches at the edge, put a Bee at the Edge. Now, when you get a problem ticket, you have far more information than you would merely reaching out to look at the switch / router / firewall. This is doubly true with VOIP, and with cloud, where stuff is 'out there'. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What problems is NetBeez Network Monitoring solving and how is that benefiting you? Several" I had a Cisco VOIP phone user in a remote office reporting that the network was down. I was able to use the tool to measure every aspect of the WAN link, including MOS, to show that the problem was actually the Cisco FInnesse web server. In another case, a remote printer connected to oracle was causing issues, and I was able to show that the issue was with the printer itself, not the network (although it was also with the way Oracle does not understand remote printers). In previous jobs, the issue with End to End monitoring has always come down to having a knowledgable person on the other end to help diagnose. With the netBeez, the 'helping hand' is already there. Best part of NetBeez in our network, is being able to visually see as a whole quickly, how the network is performing. Perfectly color coded NetBeez agents, you will be able to see effortlessly what is up + down with a quick glance. Recently able to deploy docker NetBeez agents running directly off the switch itself. Great way for people who know little about networks to quickly identify if core boxes are down in the network. I like that you can alter the MTU and and other variables to get a more robust testing environment. I like that support is fast and effective. I like that the cost for this level of troubleshooting is affordable. I like that we can deploy these agents to trouble areas fast and shorten the time to resolve customer issues. I like that the interface requires a very little learning curve to get started. I like the integrations with Slack that allows us to run ad-hoc testing on the fly through a slack bot and a channel a team can join and get alerts to the status of the agents. With low-cost/low-end agents in branch offices, NetBeez gives information about user experience against corporate and Internet resources. It's very difficult to get this information in any other way, and their dashboard aggregates and unifies the information to help make it easier to do root-cause analysis of problems (is it the network, is it the server, is it the site, etc.). Product is built for a network of sensors going to a common set of services; it's not really designed to replace WhatsUp/Zabbix/Nagios-Icinga but with such a great dashboard I wish it were. It's a bit of a point solution, even if it's a very important one. In a perfect world, we might be able to integrate NetBeez results with other dashboards (like Zabbix or Nagios-Icinga) to give singe-pane-of-glass network monitoring. But that's not today. NetBeez gives a very particular answer: how does the network look from the point of view of the user? None of our other monitoring tools really answer this question adequately---they are focused on other types of monitoring. Since system outages are handled in a very different way from "soft" problems like "the application is slow," having NetBeez information available really gives a lot more depth when investigating hard tickets on soft problems. The small size and speed of deployment means the hardware agent takes little to no room and can be deployed quickly. Centralized control of multiple agents allows an organization to keep operating overhead low, while allowing for a distributed view using multiple sites for a more holistic view of network performance. The cost per year would prohibit us from deploying a agent per customer, but the insight would be great to have. As such we use a smaller number of GigE agents for troubleshooting only with intent to implement a turn-up procedure during new service installations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. Recommendations to others considering NetBeez Network Monitoring: Contact NetBeez and ask for a online demo. If you find it useful, then you can request a product demo. It does work on a Raspberry Pi3 (tested), but throughput is limited to around 300-350 Mb/s due to the hardware. I'd would also recommend deploying a demo agent in the cloud like AWS to give another test point off premise for VoIP testing, iperf, and latency metrics. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What problems is NetBeez Network Monitoring solving and how is that benefiting you? VoIP quality issues and throughput troubleshooting. Some customers do not have the in house technical expertise to troubleshoot Internet throughput issues. The GigE agent allows us to prove throughput at the time of turn-up and during issue isolation. We don't have to worry about drivers or 3rd party software slowing down the agent's throughput, nor relying on unknown laptops providing statistics. The GigE hardware agent is designed to provide around 940 Mb/s of throughput so we can depend on the results. If there's any questions concerning throughput with an agent, we call support.
