## Payfactors Reviews
 ### 1. Revolutionized Our Compensation Management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Melissa R. | Compensation, Payroll and Benefits Analyst, Utilities, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 13, 2018

**What do you like best about Payfactors?**

I absolutely love everything about Payfactors. My favorite feature right now is the JDM for job descriptions. We just set up Smart Price as well, and using the AI features for job matches and reviewing everything has made our market pricing so much faster. I also appreciate that it takes the manual out of the process, eliminating possible bias because it uses job duties for matching rather than just guessing or using titles. It essentially does the hard work for us, meaning we don't have to go through each job description to find the best match. The system is incredibly easy to set up, as Payfactors did all the heavy lifting for us.

**What do you dislike about Payfactors?**

.

**What problems is Payfactors solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Payfactors has eliminated manual Excel work, saving our small team countless hours. It helps with market pricing, job descriptions, survey matches, and pay equity monitoring. The AI features make job matches faster and reduce possible bias, streamlining our processes effectively.

 ### 2. Intuitive and Efficient Platform for Job Pricing

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gage B. | HRIS Data Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 13, 2026

**What do you like best about Payfactors?**

I like how intuitive Payfactors is; if I'm unsure where something is, I can usually find it where I expect it to be, making the user experience crucial. It saves me time since I don't have to search the entire system to find what I need quickly. There's a lot of data we process when pricing jobs, and being able to filter it down fast to find matches is really nice. It saves a lot of time with job pricing and building out jobs is very quick and efficient. I love the job description manager; it's super easy to copy, paste, and track updates. It has replaced our old method of using Word documents and email exchanges, which is a big improvement. Organizing all our data in one place, easy updating, and the opportunity to attend trainings and courses they offer have all been really helpful.

**What do you dislike about Payfactors?**

Nothing I can think of, I am excited to keep learning more about the system.

**What problems is Payfactors solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Payfactors for pricing jobs accurately by integrating multiple surveys. The job description manager saves time with easy updates and approvals. It centralizes data, making market comparisons simple. It's intuitive, helping me find information quickly, saving time on job pricing and organizing data.

 ### 3. Intuitive Pay Structure Management, Awaiting AI Features

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** James C. | Director of Compensation, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2026

**What do you like best about Payfactors?**

I like its ease of use. It's very intuitive and easy to learn how to do various things. The way it's been designed is definitely geared towards the user. I also like the built-in survey feature that Payfactors provides its customers, and that's proved a valuable resource for us.

**What do you dislike about Payfactors?**

Hopefully, the AI functionality will be made available shortly. I know that it's available on Market Pay right now, which gives us platform that we transitioned from to Payfactors. So I'm just eager to get that rolled out in the Payfactors and start using that in the help basically, help us with completing salary surveys.

**What problems is Payfactors solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Payfactors to determine an aging factor for our salary structure and how much our pay band values need to increase based on market benchmarks.

 ### 4. Easy Annual Total Rewards Statements Made Simple

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Heather W. | Team Lead, Compensation , Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 23, 2026

**What do you like best about Payfactors?**

We enjoy the ability to send out Total Rewards Statements annually. It is a fairly easy process compared to others.

**What do you dislike about Payfactors?**

The amount of manual work required in order to have a fully functional system. The structure mapping, having to input your own geo diff, etc. is a bit cumbersome. Especially considering this information is readily available to PayScale. The option to customize (through structure mapping etc.) should be available, but only if desired.

**What problems is Payfactors solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The ability to access real-time data and use an API feed that connects Workday to PayScale.

 ### 5. Invaluable Market Data, User-Friendly Experience

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tasha J. | Associate Vice President Compensation, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Payfactors?**

I like that I can use the market pay tool to utilize the survey matches for jobs. I also like that Payfactors provides updated data at different months throughout the year, making the data the most up-to-date. The initial setup was great, especially coming from using spreadsheets.

**What do you dislike about Payfactors?**

It works well, maybe more university jobs and or adding the difference between an online adjunct vs a campus adjunct to their questioning with universities because there is a difference in the data and it's always misinformed because no one understands that it is different.

**What problems is Payfactors solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Payfactors to provide market data for jobs we use in our industry, price jobs, and link them to survey matches. The market pay tool and updated data throughout the year make it valuable.

 ### 6. Streamlined Job Descriptions and Helpful Market Pricing Insights

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Government Administration | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 05, 2026

**What do you like best about Payfactors?**

What I like most about Payfactors is how easy it is to search for job descriptions, make updates, and publish changes. Those updates sync directly to our public job catalog, which helps keep our information consistent and up to date. I also appreciate that when job descriptions are edited, prior versions are saved rather than overwritten. Having that historical record supports our documentation needs and helps us maintain compliance.

The Pricing Projects tool provides meaningful insights for our market research by using survey-based compensation data to show how our jobs align with external benchmarks. Even when some roles don’t have exact matches, it still offers a strong foundation for evaluating market alignment and identifying areas that may need adjustment. The ability to customize our market selections, along with AI-supported matching, improves accuracy and reduces the manual effort required to review potential benchmark roles.

We use Payfactors alongside other data sources as part of a comprehensive review process, and the training resources in the Payscale Academy and the Payscale Collective community forum make it easier to deepen our understanding of the platform and connect with other compensation professionals.

**What do you dislike about Payfactors?**

Because we’re still fairly new to the Payfactors platform, some parts of it aren’t as intuitive as we’d like, and a few of the Pricing Project reports are not as clear or helpful as we expected. There are also a lot of features to learn, which can feel overwhelming, but I imagine this will get easier with more frequent use.

**What problems is Payfactors solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Payfactors helps us streamline both our market research and our position‑description management. We use it to compare our jobs to survey‑based market data and identify where our pay bands may be aligned or need adjustment. The platform also centralizes our job descriptions, making it easy to search, update, and publish changes while keeping historical versions for documentation and compliance. This has been a significant improvement over the Word and PDF files we previously stored on our ShareDrive, making our compensation processes more organized, consistent, and efficient.

 ### 7. Exceptional Support and Accurate Benchmarking

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Karly S. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 05, 2026

**What do you like best about Payfactors?**

I find Payfactors visually pleasing and my favorite part of the organization so far is the people. I really appreciated having a Customer Success Manager like Hayden Freitas, who has been amazing. The team has made it easy to learn and use the platform, they are accessible for questions and insight, and they have even supported our efforts to educate leaders on compensation. The initial setup was really easy with the team assigned to us, guiding us through everything. I also like how Payfactors is integrated with our HRIS, UKG.

**What do you dislike about Payfactors?**

I would like to have further knowledge of the data reports in the system. This is mainly due to a lack of time to deep dive into training material. They are certainly there to support me when needed. No improvements suggested.

**What problems is Payfactors solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Payfactors helps us conduct accurate compensation benchmarking and maintain competitive pay practices. We can evaluate salary ranges, access internal equity, and make data-driven compensation recommendations.

 ### 8. Turns Complex Survey Data into an Actionable Benchmarking Library

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Transportation/Trucking/Railroad | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 05, 2026

**What do you like best about Payfactors?**

The platform’s strength lies in its ability to aggregate complex market survey data into a single, actionable library. The workflow for matching internal roles to external benchmarks is intuitive and significantly more efficient than manual tracking. It allows for a data driven approach to pay transparency that is easy to communicate to leadership.

**What do you dislike about Payfactors?**

While the tool is excellent for standard benchmarking, it can sometimes feel rigid when handling complex, multi-layered organizational structures. For example, when trying to solve for specific "local" nuances or unique collective agreement designations within a single job profile, the platform doesn't always offer the dynamic visualization capabilities that a custom-built dashboard can provide.

**What problems is Payfactors solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The primary problem Payfactors solves is the decentralization of market survey data. It provides a dedicated environment to map internal job profiles to external benchmarks. This benefits me by allowing for the creation of defensible, data-backed pay ranges. Instead of managing multiple spreadsheets, I have a single source of truth that helps me justify compensation decisions to leadership and ensure we remain competitive in a tight labor market.

 ### 9. Payfactors is a great tool for those that want to streamline their compensation processes

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Travis W. | Compensation Analyst, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 15, 2025

**What do you like best about Payfactors?**

Ease/speed of pricing jobs, as well as the annual bulk pricing. Additionally, the PF team has been very helpful and they are always available to connect if we have an issue/question.

**What do you dislike about Payfactors?**

Some of the reports in data insights are confusing to figure out when just starting out. Also, understanding the integration was confusing and difficult when trying to troubleshoot but that was more so an issue with my internal business tech team too.

**What problems is Payfactors solving and how is that benefiting you?**

So many, from Pay equity, benchmarking and yearly pricing updates. We previously were inundated with manual spreadsheets that were very prone to errors or would become corrupted. We are now only pricing in Payfactors which has helped us maintain consistency and speed. Additionally, the data insights tab is very useful and further allows us to keep all things comp in the tool, plus the ability to request a custom report is an added plus. I can go on, but these are some of the ways this tool is benefiting me and my team.

 ### 10. Fast, Easy Matching with Strong Market-Connected Data

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2026

**What do you like best about Payfactors?**

Speed and overall ease of finding relevant matches. There seems to be a viable connection to the market with the data reported

**What do you dislike about Payfactors?**

Costs have skyrocketed over the years. It is starting to become cost-prohibitive. There have been some situations where completely different job titles have returned the exact same data - same 50th, 62.5, 75th, and 90th. This shouldn't be the case. When discussing with customer service, they responded that the data was correct and that the jobs overlapped in the market (they do not). Additionally, the data available for highly incentivized roles doesn't seem to line up with the market - roles like mortgage loan officers and wealth advisors.

**What problems is Payfactors solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Fast and easy market connections translate into efficiency.

 ### 11. Quick, On-the-Fly Data for Simple Comp Reviews

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aisling L. | Business Support Payroll Analyst, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 24, 2026

**What do you like best about Payfactors?**

How quick it can be to pull simple data for on-the-fly comp reviews

**What do you dislike about Payfactors?**

How some jobs can be matched with 30 million pricing summary descriptions and some just do not have any matches at all - and they aren't even like an obscure job,

**What problems is Payfactors solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's helping me be able to prepare my compensation analyses/research/projects to Sr. leadership with confidence because the market data doesn't lie.

 ### 12. Limited Data Coverage Hampers Global Compensation Planning

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Zak S. | HR Director, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 02, 2025

**What do you like best about Payfactors?**

There is a wide selection of benchmark roles available in the system, and the layout is clean and easy to follow. Customer support has been very helpful as well.

**What do you dislike about Payfactors?**

The accuracy and breadth of the data have not matched the expectations set during the sales process. We were told the platform provided global market data, but the data available for us covered only two countries. This creates challenges when building a global compensation structure and limits the value of the tool for an international organization.

**What problems is Payfactors solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Payfactors gives us a centralized place to start when reviewing benchmark roles, but it does not fully solve our compensation challenges. The limited global coverage means we still need to pull data from multiple external sources, so the platform only provides a partial reference point rather than a complete solution

**Official Response from Brittany Steinke:**

> Hi Zak,

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review! It's great to hear that the support team has been helpful and that Payfactors is easy to use to benchmark your roles. We do take your feedback about the global data you have access to seriously, and want to make sure you're finding value in your investment. I'll be following up with our team internally to address your concerns and ensure we are providing the right recommendations and solutions to solve your compensation challenges.

We appreciate your partnership and the opportunity to improve your experience as a customer.

 ### 13. Comprehensive and Customizable Market Data with Robust Survey Integration

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lori H. | Senior Compensation Analyst, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 13, 2025

**What do you like best about Payfactors?**

Broad and Customizable Market Data Access

Multiple survey integrations: Payfactors aggregates data from hundreds of sources, including Milliman, Mercer, Radford, Willis Towers Watson, and industry-specific surveys.

Data blending: It allows users to blend multiple data sets (custom-weighted) to create a “composite market rate,” which can be more reflective of your true labor market than a single survey.

Localized market cuts: The platform supports geographic differentials, so you can view pay data by region, state, or metro area — helpful for multi-location employers like GCI.

**What do you dislike about Payfactors?**

Learning curve: While robust, the interface can feel unintuitive to new users — especially for blending surveys or building advanced reports.

Data overload: The volume of available data and filters can lead to analysis paralysis without strong governance or clear methodology.

Occasional performance lags: Users report slower load times or crashes when working with large data sets or multi-survey blends.

**What problems is Payfactors solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Payfactors provides GCI with a centralized, data-driven compensation platform that supports market competitiveness, internal equity, compliance, and strategic workforce planning.
It enables HR and business leaders to make compensation decisions that are accurate, transparent, and defensible — critical for a regulated, geographically diverse, and technically complex organization like GCI.

 ### 14. Comprehensive Compensation Tool with Export Limitations

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gabrielle S.

**Reviewed Date:** December 22, 2025

**What do you like best about Payfactors?**

I like the many capabilities of Payfactors to assist with compensation, the amount of data available, and the useful filters. I appreciate the ability to create reports, and I find speaking with compensation experts through the platform valuable. I also like that the reports are exportable, giving me a solid starting point for benchmarking positions and aligning pay grades.

**What do you dislike about Payfactors?**

I honestly do not believe that I use the tools to the max capability. I wish that the notes were exportable. In the jobs tab, when pricing the job, the export to an Excel sheet doesn't include the notes that I saved into the survey cut. I would like the ability to save articles in connect in order to go back to them later.

**What problems is Payfactors solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Payfactors helps with pay competitiveness and reduces manual work. It provides valuable resources like data filters, reporting capabilities, and expert consultations. Exportable reports give me a starting point for benchmarking positions and setting paygrades.

 ### 15. Simplifies Job Pricing, But Survey Participation Functionality Needs Work

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sean K.

**Reviewed Date:** December 17, 2025

**What do you like best about Payfactors?**

I like how easy it is to find jobs and market data using the interface. The process of manually looking up surveys to find data points was labor-intensive a few years ago, and Payfactors has significantly improved this experience. The data upload process is very straightforward and quick. Customer support is always very helpful and knowledgeable.

**What do you dislike about Payfactors?**

The survey participation process is not intuitive and can be clunky, even after attending webinars and reading materials. Last survey season, it took a lot of tickets and waiting on the engineering team to fix bugs to get the surveys ready for participation. Also, sometimes the survey templates don't align perfectly with those provided by vendors. Also, Data Insights can be difficult to work with and doesn't always allow filtering in the way we want. We also wish that the pricing details graphic would always display when looking at a job, even with just one pricing match.

**What problems is Payfactors solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Payfactors to simplify job pricing and gain insights into our job architecture and pay ranges relative to market. It's easy to find market data through its interface, which is a big improvement over manual survey data searches.

 ### 16. Excellent User Interface and Seamless Upgrades

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lauren Y. | Director, Global Compensation and Mobility, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 01, 2025

**What do you like best about Payfactors?**

I think the user interface of Payfactors is excellent! I've been using Payfactors for the last five and a half years. They have definitely upgraded the system, but done it over time, which was easy to navigate. There are so many features, we have just barely scratched the surface of how we can use it.

**What do you dislike about Payfactors?**

When I started using Payfactors, they had a different customer service model and I had a dedicated PF analyst to help me learn the system. They have since gone to a centralized model that I do not find to be as helpful.

**What problems is Payfactors solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Payfactors allows us to quickly turnaround benchmarking data to our HR teams to give them what they need and in a standardized manor.

 ### 17. All-in-One Platform That Simplifies Management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lindsey R. | Manager, Compensation, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 28, 2025

**What do you like best about Payfactors?**

Having a one-stop shop for everything I manage is incredibly helpful. Whether I need to aggregate our survey data, upload total rewards statements, or store job descriptions, this platform lets me keep everything organized in a single location. I also find it very user-friendly.

**What do you dislike about Payfactors?**

I dont have any downsides to using Payfactors.

**What problems is Payfactors solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Job Description Management: Helping us standardize parts of our job descriptions so they're consistent (e.g. our people leaders have the same responsibilities in the same verbiage, vs managers having to write them out themselves in their own style)

Comp Management and Salary Benchmarking: easier way to match our jobs when we can see our surveys in one place, able to add notes to our projects to remind us how we benchmarked when looking at it months later, ability to roll forward our survey data

 ### 18. Centralized Job Descriptions with Powerful Data Insights

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Samong T. | Compensation Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Payfactors?**

We love the HRMA market data and the ability to house our job descriptions in a central location. We love the ability to data insights that is feed over from our HCM.

**What do you dislike about Payfactors?**

If we had to nit pick, perhaps the ability to use the SmartPricing to revaluate our existing job match to ensure we are consistent.

**What problems is Payfactors solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We acquire new business on a regular basis, and this requires us to create and match new jobs. Smart pricing frees us from having to do the initial job matching manually.

 ### 19. Exceptional Global Comp Data Management and Support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Larissa T. | Manager International Compensation, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 26, 2025

**What do you like best about Payfactors?**

Just some of the things I like:
- global ability to manage purchased comp data in an easy and quick way that lets us have access timely
- access to additional compensation data that's real-time sourced
- job description management system that lets us globally manage systems and support our leaders and HRBPs with easy access
- webinars on pay education and transparency that keeps us aware of global changes
- great customer service support in all the areas

**What do you dislike about Payfactors?**

The opportunity to continually support truly global companies. It's grown but I'm excited to see it evolve even more.

**What problems is Payfactors solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's giving us a global system to support our compensation philosophy through market data, as well as supporting a global job description repository.

 ### 20. Effortlessly Match Market Data, But Needs Better Integration

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jessica F. | Director, Global Compensation

**Reviewed Date:** December 01, 2025

**What do you like best about Payfactors?**

I love how Payfactors offers an easy-to-use platform that allows me to quickly look up a job and access the accompanying market data efficiently. Its intuitive interface makes it simple to navigate and streamline workflows, which saves me considerable time. This user-friendly experience ensures I can swiftly find the information I need, thereby enhancing my productivity and effectiveness in handling market data matching tasks.

**What do you dislike about Payfactors?**

I find the integration file setup challenging and the UDF functionality cumbersome. The process of submitting suggestions requires multiple votes, and there is uncertainty about whether they will be addressed in product development. Additionally, it's difficult to add and delete UDFs, and I would prefer a clearer process for receiving updates on whether feedback will be part of future releases. The initial setup involved a lot of administrative work, which was cumbersome.

**What problems is Payfactors solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Payfactors to consolidate survey results into composites, find it easy to use for quickly looking up job and market data, enhancing efficiency. We have also created robust reports for senior management that have been well received.

 ### 21. Powerful Reporting with Job Data Management

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hannah H.

**Reviewed Date:** November 25, 2025

**What do you like best about Payfactors?**

I really appreciate using Payfactors for market pricing and job description management. The job description management tool stands out with its ability to route job descriptions to managers and track changes efficiently, making it very useful for our company. It is immensely beneficial to have access to all of my job and people data in one consolidated place. This feature enhances the reporting capabilities, which are extensive, and I'm excited about potentially streamlining the offer-making process with my Talent Acquisition team. Furthermore, I am excited about Payfactors' embrace of AI and how they are enhancing reporting and dashboard capabilities. The ease of loading our people data into the tool during the initial setup was also a highlight. Overall, Payfactors offers an impressive array of features that contribute significantly to our operations.

**What do you dislike about Payfactors?**

Payfactors is a fairly large investment, and there are additional features that I wish were included in the basic package. It would be immensely helpful if you could load third party data at no cost.

**What problems is Payfactors solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Payfactors for market pricing and job description management. It streamlines job description routing and tracking, consolidates job and people data, enhances reporting, and aids collaboration with my Talent Acquisition team.

 ### 22. Great resource for market pricing and job descriptions

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Salvador J. | Compensation Analyst II, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 10, 2025

**What do you like best about Payfactors?**

I like the fact that you can leverage your survey participation data from mercer to Sullivan Cotter to see year over year changes in survey results. I also enjoy the available Job Description Manager. It is a great way to centralize job descriptions and manage requests from the business. I also enjoy the ideas link where you can recommend some features that you find helpful.

**What do you dislike about Payfactors?**

I would not say I dislike anything in particular about Payfactors. I would like to be able to find minimum wage and exempt salary threshold in Payfactors.

**What problems is Payfactors solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Payfactors helps provide market pricing analysis for jobs on the fly. That helps with adhoc requests. We are also able to see how the market is shifting relative to our salary grades, providing for opportunities to update our salary grades.

 ### 23. Reliable Market Data and Excellent Support

The product’s reliable market data is essential for our work, ensuring that we have access to trusted information. Additionally, the job description management tools provided by Payfactors, including a centralized library and workflow tools, have significantly improved our team collaboration. I also appreciate the outstanding customer service from our support team, which enhances our overall experience with the software. Furthermore, the initial setup of Payfactors was very easy, largely thanks to the assistance from our representative Michalea.

**What do you dislike about Payfactors?**

I wish there was more engagement in the community to share ideas and best practices.

**What problems is Payfactors solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Payfactors for centralized job description management and reliable market data, which improves collaboration and trust. Its data analytics save me time, supported by excellent customer service.

 ### 24. Intuitive System with Helpful Chatbot Support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cheryl G.

**Reviewed Date:** November 06, 2025

**What do you like best about Payfactors?**

I love using Payfactors for its intuitive system design, which makes navigating and utilizing its features straightforward and simple. I'm particularly excited about Payge, the new chatbot, which provides step-by-step instructions to help me utilize features within Payfactors that I might not be fully exploiting. I appreciate having a single place with numerous resources that keeps our information well-organized. Additionally, the initial setup of Payfactors was remarkably easy, which made the transition seamless. Moreover, the experience with our account representative, Dana Faulkner, has been outstanding, further enhancing our satisfaction with the product. Our Rep Dana Faulkner is amazing she reaches out and meets with us regularly and always has something new and exciting to share and goes the extra mile to be sure we are using Payfactors and all it features.

**What do you dislike about Payfactors?**

I dislike that our market benchmarking cycle does not correspond with Payfactors' cycle.

**What problems is Payfactors solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Payfactors to centralize market data and job titles, organizing information efficiently, and benefit from features like Payge for straightforward guidance on underutilized tools.

 ### 25. Intuitive Tool, Needs More Data for Manufacturing Jobs

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** carl m.

**Reviewed Date:** December 17, 2025

**What do you like best about Payfactors?**

I find the Payfactors interface useful and pretty intuitive. I like that I can do a quick project or a bigger project; I don't have to embark on something big when I just need a quick answer. The initial setup was totally easy, which I appreciated.

**What do you dislike about Payfactors?**

The job mixing/matching is just a guess. I use ChatGPT to get a better answer, as it's not me deciding what's close, it's a bigger sample. Just having more jobs in the database would help - I work in manufacturing, and there are hundreds, if not thousands of truss plants all over the US. It's surprising that truss builder, or truss crane operator are not in the system.

**What problems is Payfactors solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Payfactors helps us determine competitive wages by showing what the market is paying for jobs.

 ### 26. Payfactors: Insightful but Challenging Setup

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sophie L.

**Reviewed Date:** October 31, 2025

**What do you like best about Payfactors?**

I find Payfactors particularly valuable as it provides clear insight into how we should be structuring our employee compensation across the organization. This platform excels in giving me a comprehensive view of pay evaluation, which is crucial for managing pay equity and ensuring competitive compensation packages. I also appreciate how the consulting services at the start were instrumental in setting up the majority of our job evaluations, enabling us to accurately price jobs and stay competitive in various markets. Moreover, the feature that allows us to link and compare jobs across different cities is exceptionally useful, as it simplifies accessing comparative data and enhances decision-making in salary structures with just the push of a button. Over time, I've also noticed an improvement in the availability of comparative data through Payfactors, which significantly boosts its utility from a pay quality perspective.

**What do you dislike about Payfactors?**

I find setting up Payfactors very difficult, especially without a strong background in compensation. It took a significant amount of time to get up to speed and train my team. Although the online training is helpful, it's high-level and not very time-efficient for leaders. A more in-depth classroom style training would be beneficial. Additionally, I'm disappointed by the lack of integration with other software, such as UKG, despite having an API. This integration defect limits the seamless flow of data. Also, from a macro perspective, the platform doesn't offer as much long-term strategic value as anticipated.

**What problems is Payfactors solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Payfactors gives me clear insights into compensation strategies for our organization, with improving data quality for pay analysis. The consulting aids in pricing jobs effectively and the comparison feature simplifies analysis across locations.

 ### 27. Useful Data, Needs UI Enhancement

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospitality | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 13, 2025

**What do you like best about Payfactors?**

I appreciate the robust data Payfactors provides for the hospitality industry, which significantly surpasses what I experienced with Radford, making it a key reason for my transition to this tool. I find the system’s ability to offer peer and HR market data essential for ensuring competitive compensation within our salary benchmarks, enhancing our human resource processes efficiently. The competitive pricing of Payfactors against other salary benchmarking tools is another strong point that creates great value for money. Moreover, I find the user interface to be quite manageable, making it relatively straightforward to navigate and use for my tasks. The ADP API integration works excellently, adding to the seamless functionality. Additionally, I find the specific features such as hospitality peer benchmarking data, compare ratio, and salary structure build-out incredibly useful for our compensation planning and management.

**What do you dislike about Payfactors?**

I feel that the user interface needs improvement. It could be more intuitive and easier to use. Additionally, I have concerns with how reportable data is managed; I believe it could benefit from moving away from Tableau for better efficiency and user-friendliness. It's important that better subscription options are available to offer more comprehensive data. I also think the pricing could be lower to make the tool more accessible.

**What problems is Payfactors solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Payfactors provides robust compensation benchmarking data, ensuring we pay employees within market standards, particularly for the hospitality industry.

 ### 28. Excellent Job Pricing Tool with Outstanding Support

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 30, 2025

**What do you like best about Payfactors?**

I started at my organization shortly after the implementation of Payfactors, so I cannot speak on that. I mainly use Payfactors to price new jobs that we are creating within our organization which has been pretty easy. If I am confused on something, I consult the Payscale Collective which has been very helpful! The customer support is also worth mentioning!

**What do you dislike about Payfactors?**

I think the hardest part about using Payfactors is finding which job matches most closely to the description of the job at my organization. I think if I were able to enter key words within the description to narrow down the search, that would be extremely helpful! Alternatively, if there were an AI tool that could take my job description and find the closest match, that would be awesome!

**What problems is Payfactors solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Payfactors helps me price new jobs in areas all over the country using benchmarks from other organizations nationwide.

 ### 29. Cuts Job Matching Time in Half—A Game-Changer!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 16, 2025

**What do you like best about Payfactors?**

I like that they are a great plat form that has cut the time of matching jobs in half as we had to match 600 jobs during integration. Great customer service when we implementing the program as a non platform user the agents very helpful and quick to respond.

**What do you dislike about Payfactors?**

the layout is easy but its overwhelming to get use to it when you've never used the platform before. there are a lot of things to look at in the main page. I know we can tailor but its still a lot as a first time user.

**What problems is Payfactors solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It has helped make Salary Benchmarking more enjoyable as we have grown as an organization, it has also helped with knowing pay equity within the organization.

 ### 30. Payfactors keeps our compensation plan consistent and manageable

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 18, 2025

**What do you like best about Payfactors?**

Payfactors has consistently provided us with solutions to challenges we face in the compensation space. The team is easy to work with, and always available to get on a call and help us navigate the best ways that the platform can assist us.

**What do you dislike about Payfactors?**

Payfactors is committed to keeping the platform updated, and new features available for use. There is a lot of great communication around these features, but sometimes it can be difficult to keep up with the new features as they roll out.

**What problems is Payfactors solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We really appreciate the ease with which we can pull reports and modify to meet our needs. We are able to use the Payfactors system to compare our salary structure to current market midpoints by role.

 ### 31. Payfactors Experience

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Law Practice | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 16, 2025

**What do you like best about Payfactors?**

The design of the system itself is very easy to navigate. I have worked with the system for about 2 years or so now and have a good understanding on the core fundamentals to enhance my use of the system (i.e. how the different tiles/pages work together). Being able to load our 3rd party surveys but also getting Payscale data cuts that we have purchased is also very helpful as I like to look at general market industry along with our internal aligned industry when pricing jobs. I have also had a pleasant experience working with the support team on loading data into the system and pricing jobs via our customer hours, but also with our CSM (Dan C.) who has been fantastic to work with.

**What do you dislike about Payfactors?**

I would not say this is a "dislike" perse but a potential enhancement to the user experience - when using customer hours to price jobs, the team does a wonderful job. However, it would be helpful to get a short write up/narrative explaining their thought process (i.e. why was this job used as a match, why did I apply this weighting to the job, etc.) so I can better understand their rational. Many of us comp professionals think alike but also with a unique lens/scope based on our organizations compensation philosophy and/or industry, so it is good to understand the thought process that went behind the pricing.

**What problems is Payfactors solving and how is that benefiting you?**

How we can better use the structures page to propose models when evaluating the current compensation structure/ranges.

 ### 32. Expansive Data, Flexible Tool for Pay Equity

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Stacye N.

**Reviewed Date:** November 25, 2025

**What do you like best about Payfactors?**

I love that Payfactors consistently provides more data, especially for unusual roles, which is crucial for job review and pricing jobs. The platform's expansion in relevant sectors and new geographies means I have access to the most up-to-date information, which is essential for maintaining pay equity and leveling. I appreciate the flexibility Payfactors offers, making it adaptable to my needs. Additionally, the initial setup was relatively straightforward, even easier than similar tools I've used in other roles. This practicality allows me to integrate data from Workday seamlessly without any hassle.

**What do you dislike about Payfactors?**

Would like more data available for non-profit and for Asia Pacific locations.

**What problems is Payfactors solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Payfactors for job review and pricing, solving leveling and pay equity issues while providing valuable, flexible data for unusual roles and new geographies.

 ### 33. Essential software for Compensation professionals

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kevin T. | Director of Compensation, Manufacturing, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 24, 2017

**What do you like best about Payfactors?**

The ease of market pricing roles and slotting for internal equity. Also, the job description management tool is very ease to setup and really helps support our leaders. I'm in it almost every day working on pricings or descriptions. Also, the customer support team is excellent!

**What do you dislike about Payfactors?**

Reporting functions are not the most streamlined and user friendly. Integrations with HCM systems is limited.

**Recommendations to others considering Payfactors:**

Really focus on the data going into PayFactors and ensure it is clean. Without this, the reporting and features of PayFactors cannot be fully utilized.

**What problems is Payfactors solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ensuring market competitiveness in Total Rewards offerings while maintaining internal equity. Administering our job descriptions including creation, maintenance and version history.

 ### 34. Outstanding Support and Invaluable Benchmarking Data

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mary G. | Executive Director of Strategic HR Programs & Initiatives, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 13, 2026

**What do you like best about Payfactors?**

The access to industry job descriptions and salary data that help us benchmark positions. Their customer service and willingness to help is outstanding. The analysis and reporting tools are extremely helpful and useful.

**What do you dislike about Payfactors?**

Make the interface a little more user friendly. Expand positions in our specific higher education sector.

**What problems is Payfactors solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Providing strong benchmark data and performing analysis for our compensation planning.

 ### 35. Easy Pricing Projects and Survey Match Comparisons

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Manufacturing | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 13, 2026

**What do you like best about Payfactors?**

the ability to make pricing projects and compare to survey matches

**What do you dislike about Payfactors?**

I've tried the chatbot a few times and haven't gotten what I needed

**What problems is Payfactors solving and how is that benefiting you?**

aligning internal salaries to market salaries and helps us be confident in our numbers

 ### 36. Real-Time Compensation Insights and Seamless ESS Integration

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tay R. | Compensation Analyst, Banner Bank, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 31, 2025

**What do you like best about Payfactors?**

The platform provides real-time compensation data, a comprehensive job catalog, and seamless automated data integration with our ESS. These features have been valuable for our HR processes.

**What do you dislike about Payfactors?**

I would appreciate having more options to expand the use of Payfactors and enhance reporting capabilities specifically for our manager population.

**What problems is Payfactors solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use this tool to validate our compensation practices by comparing them to industry standards. It allows us to research roles that are part of our organizational structure, even when those positions also belong to broader markets like information technology and process improvement.

 ### 37. Easy Job Pricing, But Geofactors Need Improvement

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Erin E. | Compensation and Benefits Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 22, 2025

**What do you like best about Payfactors?**

It is easy to load Job Descriptions and then price the jobs based off of that description. I also like how easy it is to get help when I put in a support ticket.

**What do you dislike about Payfactors?**

Sometimes the geofactors are way off compared to other sites like SIA.

**What problems is Payfactors solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Managing Job Descriptions and keeping them in one place. Before, they were all over the place and we never knew who had them and what was the most recent. It also helps us to see market pricing for certain jobs we cannot find in staffing only job pricing sites.

 ### 38. Payfactors Review

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ian S. | Compensation Analyst, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 01, 2025

**What do you like best about Payfactors?**

Peer data and seeing how our competitors using the platform compare

**What do you dislike about Payfactors?**

It is intuitive but the platform does not do a great job at explaining how the functions work. The self-guide instructions are terrible, and we reached out to our customer support team for help. They are very helpful, but it would be nice to have the user resources updates.

**What problems is Payfactors solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps up to analysis market data and be competitive in the local market.

**Official Response from Brittany Steinke:**

> Hi Ian,

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review! It's great to hear that you're seeing value with Peer data and using Payfactors to stay competitive in your market. However, we also take your feedback about the platform and training resources seriously, and want to make sure you feel satisfied with your investment in Payscale. We'd love to connect with you further to understand how we can better improve our Academy experience, training resources, and Knowledge Articles to get you the support that you need.

I've notified your CSM and they'll be reaching out to continue the conversation and ensure your concerns are addressed.

We appreciate your partnership!

 ### 39. Salary Benchmarking with an Amazing Interface

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Islali R. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 11, 2025

**What do you like best about Payfactors?**

Payscale has become our go-to tool for understanding compensation trends and benchmarking salaries. What really sets Payscale apart is its personalized salary reports. Instead of generic averages, it gives you a tailored estimate based on your unique profile. It shows how our salaries compare to those of others in similar roles and industries and even breaks down how specific skills or competencies.

**What do you dislike about Payfactors?**

The dated interface was something that I was not super fond of. The new update is cleaner, faster, and much easier to navigate. The dashboard now feels more intuitive!

**What problems is Payfactors solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Payfactors has solved one of the biggest challenges in compensation management: accessing reliable, real-time market data to make informed pay decisions. The biggest benefit for me is how it streamlines salary benchmarking. I can input job details and instantly see how pay varies based on experience, location, and certifications. The platform also makes it easier to collaborate with leadership on pay strategies, thanks to its clean interface and customizable reports.

 ### 40. Review of Payfactors

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michelle E. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 10, 2025

**What do you like best about Payfactors?**

I really enjoy the ability to quickly assess job positions and get real time market data for the roles. It's also exciting to see AI being incorporated into the Payfactors system.

**What do you dislike about Payfactors?**

I am a newer user to Payfactors and it's a very big system to tackle in terms of understanding the platform and getting the most use out of it. It would be nice as a new user to given a suggested road map of traning. I am familiar with the Academy but there are so many trainings out there its overwhelming in knowing what the best training path is for the features that my company purchases. Not all trainings and features are applicable to each company so knowing what is relevant based on what the company has access to would be hlepful in navigating the system as a new user.

**What problems is Payfactors solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Providing compensation details for global locations that we don't necessarily purchase survey specific data in.

 ### 41. Great Support with Some Room for Technical Improvements

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tsahai G. | Compensation Manager

**Reviewed Date:** October 16, 2025

**What do you like best about Payfactors?**

I find the benchmarking feature of Payfactors incredibly useful, as it allows us to effectively compare our roles with market standards, aiding in competitive compensation decisions. The support from Payfactors is exceptional, with webinars and other resources greatly assisting my learning and adaptation to the system.

**What do you dislike about Payfactors?**

I find it challenging to download reports, as the process is not straightforward and can be complex, even requiring assistance without a guarantee of resolution. Additionally, there are occasional small glitches in the system, and sometimes pages take longer to load, which can disrupt the workflow. These technical issues suggest that some areas could benefit from a review and improvement.

**What problems is Payfactors solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Payfactors to benchmark jobs, helping us stay competitive by understanding market pay rates, aiding in making informed offers and role transitions.

 ### 42. Explore tab is a MUST-USE

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Scott B. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 09, 2025

**What do you like best about Payfactors?**

The "Explore" tab is amazing. Quick, efficient way to access all the data in an easily consumable format. I use the "Explore" tab every day and it has become my go-to on the website.

**What do you dislike about Payfactors?**

All of the paywalls. My organization pays for the service but still doesn't have access to many things. New additions like Korn Ferry and others are thrown behind a paywall. It would be nice if the amount we are paying unlocked everything.

**What problems is Payfactors solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The main problem being solved is Salary Benchmarking. Having all the survey data uploaded into one platform is extremely convenient. Now, being able to access all the information in the "Explore" tab is a game-changer and saves me so much time.

The ability to match jobs is also a huge win and helps make sure our benchmarking jobs and salary benchmarking is accurate, before even diving into the data.

 ### 43. Fast Building and Powerful Cross-Market Search

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 24, 2026

**What do you like best about Payfactors?**

I like how quickly I can build what I need, and I appreciate being able to search across different markets.

**What do you dislike about Payfactors?**

I wish it would share similar roles when searching

**What problems is Payfactors solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Pay inequity.

 ### 44. Efficient for Compensation with Room for Improvement

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** SUSAN K.

**Reviewed Date:** November 14, 2025

**What do you like best about Payfactors?**

I find Payfactors fairly easy to use, which significantly simplifies my workflow and helps me accomplish tasks more swiftly. The platform's usability stands out, making it time-efficient for market benchmarking and pricing activities. Additionally, I value the pricing projects feature, peer review system, and AI functionality that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of my job.

**What do you dislike about Payfactors?**

I find the survey data refresh process challenging, especially when a survey company changes their leveling methodology. It complicates how I recreate job matches in Payfactors after such changes occur.

**What problems is Payfactors solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Payfactors for market pricing and benching, quickly identifying job matches using multiple surveys, which makes my job easier and quicker.

 ### 45. Intuitive, Customizable Compensation Tool with Outstanding Support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Greg P. | Senior Director of Talent, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 16, 2025

**What do you like best about Payfactors?**

The Payfactors compensation review tools are very intuitive, highly customizable and easy to implement. We use this tool on a weekly basis to inform compensation decisions. The team is helpful and responsive.

**What do you dislike about Payfactors?**

Some pay markets have limited data for highly nuanced roles.

**What problems is Payfactors solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Previously, we had no tool to evaluate comp in the marketplace.

 ### 46. PayFactors Review

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 17, 2025

**What do you like best about Payfactors?**

I like the job description tool where our company can house all job descriptions. My favorite feature is where you can kick off blank job descriptions templates to managers and go through the approval collaboration process and include other HR partners.

**What do you dislike about Payfactors?**

The least helpful part of PayFactors has to do with some job matches. For example, for Counsels it would be nice to have specific matches to specific fields like Real Estate, Litigation or Corporate counsel.

**What problems is Payfactors solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Job description Management and market data for all of our positions.

 ### 47. Transitioning from Payscale to Payfactors

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Krista H. | Human Resources Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 16, 2025

**What do you like best about Payfactors?**

I like the homepage, and the layout, and the training resources are pretty solid. They have a step-by-step implementation process and provide guidance along the way. Lori on the education team is awesome, especially if you're struggling with the training.

**What do you dislike about Payfactors?**

We're transitioning from Payscale to Payfactors because the Payscale product is no longer available. So far, it seems like Payfactors is way more complicated, and they're many steps to pricing a job whereas Payscale was much more user friendly. Additionally, we just found that Payfactors has no way to organize annual pay increases like Payscale, and that was a huge disappointment, because we won't have the component necessary to facilitate that process.

**What problems is Payfactors solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows us to benchmark positions to remain competitive and publish job ranges.

 ### 48. Great service!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sam S. | Sr HR Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 23, 2024

**What do you like best about Payfactors?**

I love the geo map that shows the national average and if a specific location is below or above. The ability to benchmark multiple jobs for different areas is great. The customer service has always been amazing and I find the reporting features very detailed and customizable

**What do you dislike about Payfactors?**

I am still very new to using the system and have not found anything to dislike.

**What problems is Payfactors solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Originally our compensation philosophy was outdated and not accurate. Allowing us to benchmark based on job has been so helpful for our organizaion. I have also recently learned how to benchmark new roles in a way that will allow employees to be tagged to the benchmark instead of having to do it multiple times.

 ### 49. Total Rewards Manager

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services

**Reviewed Date:** April 02, 2026

**What do you like best about Payfactors?**

Easy to use, very intuitive, quick pricing

**What do you dislike about Payfactors?**

Ability to manage Job Architecture is difficult - a section attached to the JD's and Structures would be helpful

**What problems is Payfactors solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Managing structures and accuracy of market data

 ### 50. Flexible and Easy to Use Compensation System

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 31, 2024

**What do you like best about Payfactors?**

I love Payfactors as a compensation software, the user interface is very friendly and it's easy to get and provide salary data. We use Payfactors at least once a week. We use it for three countries and there are many ways to slice and dice the information, from HR salaries, to peer salaries, to competitive salaries. The system is very easy to use and to share information, whether it's quick pricing a job or doing a detailed analysis. Implementation was a breeze, as long as you keep up with training. The implementation team was very communicative and easy to work with. The training offered is wonderful and I can't wait to dig further into the training to get more knowledgeable about compensation. Our client success manager is amazingly helpful.

**What do you dislike about Payfactors?**

The one thing that I wish was easier are the employee data uploads. The template is cumbersome and hard to put togther. It would be great to have a more steamlined template for quick updates. I also wish it was easier to talk to customer support, rather than going back and forth through a tickting system.

**What problems is Payfactors solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The biggest issue facing us, is we don't have a compensation structure that is easy to share with our employees. But that's why we purchased Payfactors, so we can build an easily communicated, transparent comp structure.
