"It's the default word processing software"
4/5
What do you like best about Microsoft Word?

Cross-platform support is what I personally liked about this. It contains so many pre-design layouts that make my work easier. It can create and convert pretty much any file for personal and office usage. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft Word?

It's cost, the price is meant for the western market Standart, not up to the regional standard. Sometimes it's very hard to find the necessary option in it. It is heavier compared to many competitors. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Microsoft Word is great for writing traditionally - but there are new players"
4/5
What do you like best about Microsoft Word?

It has the best variety of fonts. Works well for formatting and mostly for revisions but there are new players. It's the original that is most well known historically and that gives it a lot of value but for collaboration not so much. I like it I think primarily because I am very familiar with it. I think there has been a lot of disruption as far as technology goes with it though. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft Word?

I dislike that it's not easy to invite other users to share a document easily like Google Docs. You should be able to share with someone via email easily so that others can see updates and revisions to something in real-time. This is a big problem.. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Still the standard (but only a matter of time before cloud solutions take over)"
4/5
What do you like best about Microsoft Word?

The interface is familiar and very simple. Features and functions are clear. Great portability and ability to export to deliver in any format needed. Also built to be used offline so there are no issues creating documents while not connected to the internet. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft Word?

For the most part it feels like cloud solutions like Google Docs have caught up and it makes it hard to justify paying the monthly or annual cost for the Microsoft Office Suite. Also somehow after all these years they still haven't made importing or moving images within a document very smooth.

Lastly, Google Docs are far superior for collaboration and making edits, suggestions, and comments amongst 2+ people compared to sharing Word docs back and forth. I know there is a cloud suite and online docs for Word but not everyone in the company is set on Microsoft Teams or Online Suite while we are all on the Google Business Suite. "Great for basic document creation and design"
4/5
What do you like best about Microsoft Word?

One of the best things Microsoft Word offers is its formatting and editing options. I love that you can easily add a table of contents or index as well as track changes and edits from different users. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft Word?

I wish creating graphs and figures in Word was easier; most times I switch over to Microsoft Excel and then create a figure since sometimes I find it difficult to keep the information organized while creating the figure in Word. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy to use Word Document"
4/5
What do you like best about Microsoft Word?

The best thing about it is that it is the original word document, so it's features are very familiar and I know exactly where to find all the tools I need to write articles. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft Word?

The thing I don't like about Microsoft word is that unlike Google Docs, it's not in the cloud. So when I use Microsoft Word I need to then upload it into Google Docs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"The standard but slipping"
4/5
What do you like best about Microsoft Word?

Word is stable. It accepts third-party tools well and there are a lot of them. It converts to PDF files well. Overall it does what it is supposed to and does it well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft Word?

Word and Excel All MS Office products insist on opening in the cloud. You can trick it into saving on the desktop, but it is aggravating. There have been no new features since last year. Sometimes it is hard to figure out why it saved documents a certain way. The integration with Excel could be a lot better. Opening .RTF files is iffy. Almost all of what it does can be done by other word processors from free to less expensive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft Word?

I'm not a huge fan of their online/cloud version of the program. Doesn't have the ease of access that I find with the Google Suite. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"User friendly application for starters"
4/5
What do you like best about Microsoft Word?

Most widely used platform for creating, and editing documents.

It allows saving the documents automatically to OneDrive or SharePoint.

It supports versioning of the documents. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft Word?

I don't find any flaws in the tool as I have been using it for the last 10-15 years.

Definitely, the product has gone over many enhancements with the latest features being added in every new version. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great for business"
4/5
What do you like best about Microsoft Word?

What I like best about Microsoft Word is the ability to export to pdfs and easily edit documents on the fly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft Word?

Microsoft Word is a great program, but if I had to pick something about it that I disliked most, it would be the fact that the settings are a little confusing to navigate. I can find myself, at times, spending long periods of time trying to find a specific setting and either giving up or spending a long time on Google trying to find out where I need to click. This could be me just not being familiar with the program, but for something as simple as Microsoft Word there doesn't seem like there should be a large learning curve.
