## About Iru
Iru is an AI-powered IT and security platform designed to help organizations secure their users, applications, and devices in an increasingly complex digital landscape. Tailored for the AI era, Iru integrates identity and access management, endpoint security, and compliance automation into a single cohesive solution. This unification streamlines operations, allowing IT and security teams to regain control and allocate their time more effectively. Targeted at fast-growing companies, Iru addresses the challenges faced by IT and security professionals who often juggle multiple tools and systems. The platform is particularly beneficial for organizations that require robust security measures while maintaining agility and efficiency. Use cases include managing user access across various applications, ensuring device security, and automating compliance processes, all of which are critical in today’s fast-paced business environment. At the heart of Iru is the Iru Context Model, which provides a dynamic overview of the organization’s environment by continuously monitoring users, devices, and applications in real-time. Complementing this model is Iru AI, an intelligent layer that transforms live data signals into actionable insights, orchestrates necessary actions, and maintains a comprehensive audit trail. This integration enhances policy enforcement, automates response mechanisms, and simplifies compliance, making it easier for organizations to adhere to regulatory requirements. One of Iru's standout features is its single endpoint agent, which manages and secures every device within an organization’s fleet. By implementing passwordless access through device-bound passkeys linked to device posture, Iru creates a trust fabric that strengthens security between users and devices. Additionally, compliance is continuously monitored with customized controls and an Adaptive Evidence Map that updates automatically, reducing the burden on IT teams and minimizing the risk of oversight. Iru aims to bring clarity and control back to overwhelmed IT and security teams by consolidating disparate tools into one unified platform. This shift allows teams to transition from reactive firefighting to proactive strategic initiatives that drive business success. The result is a more robust security posture, simplified workflows, and outcomes that align with organizational goals, ultimately fostering a safer and more efficient operational environment.

## Iru Reviews
 ### 1. Major upgrade from Jamf

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Silviu C. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 16, 2024

**What do you like best about Iru?**

-ease of use, nice and friendly admin console
-managed updates for App Store and MacOS third party software
-comprehensive but easy to read reports
-alerts
-seamless Apple and AzureAD integration
-stellar Customer Support, one chat box away
-easy to implement, plenty of different options and recommended settings
-one of the few "set it and forget it" tools we use

**What do you dislike about Iru?**

-The UI could be better on mobile access.
- Occasionally - devices will become disconnected from the MDM - requiring end user interaction to re-sync/re-enroll.
- Can't buy individual licenses. If you have 100 devices, you can have 100 licenses. If you have 70, you require 100 licences.
- Kandji Passport could use a revamp at least in end-user interaction

**What problems is Iru solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Kandji allows us to keep software and OS up to date, push specific applications to specific user groups, lock and erase lost/stolen devices.
Quick to deploy new devices as it can be configured out of the box with required config and software.

 ### 2. Kandji Makes MDM EASY

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 02, 2024

**What do you like best about Iru?**

The simplicity and clarity of the platform is it's strongest suit. The support staff is friendly and always willing to assist, even with the small stuff.
I have implemented Kandji in 2 organizations, and the first time it was fun to learn and the second time it was so simple it took 2 days to get us from 0 MDM to fully secure and manages machines.

**What do you dislike about Iru?**

The only real limitations of Kandji are:

1. They don't do Windows (this is mostly a joke)
2. Sometimes the platform can lack some native apps for less popular business segments. But they are always working on it to improve!

**What problems is Iru solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ease of deployment, ease of re-deployement and overall system hardening.
It ensures we maintain our SOC2 Type 2 compliance, and that our end users have no trouble getting a new machine in no time at all.
We also never have bricked devices due to Apple ID or machine lockouts.

 ### 3. By far the best MDM platform available

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Favio M. | Senior Technology Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 10, 2024

**What do you like best about Iru?**

There are so many features I could nominate as what I would like best by far it has to be the management and support. Top class in my opinion.

**What do you dislike about Iru?**

The only downside is I wish I could have all devices under one MDM—for example laptops, desktops, android devices, tablets, etc.

**What problems is Iru solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We currently have iPhones and iPads that we manage across various departments in over 50 locations. To have management over all of them under on platform is an amazing technological benefit. Changes that are requested can be done quickly and in real time.

 ### 4. Kandji is by far the most user friendly, feature rich, and price conscious Apple MDM on the market

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Pharmaceuticals | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 09, 2024

**What do you like best about Iru?**

There are so many things I love about Kandji but if I had to choose, Kandji's user friendly feature set would top the list. From the different options to manage a BYOD to fully managed device, the flexibility is so great and even a non-technical person can implement. A very close second is the people behind the product. My Customer Success Manager is the best and the support has been phenominal.

**What do you dislike about Iru?**

The only downside is I wished Kandji created a product to manage Windows & Android devices.

**What problems is Iru solving and how is that benefiting you?**

(1) Securing our company data and (2) Managing a growing company that didn't have any policies in place. Kandji solved both problems with preset policies that we actually used to write our own internal mobile policies.

 ### 5. Wonderful team and amazing support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Crystal R. | VP of Operations, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 27, 2024

**What do you like best about Iru?**

Kandji has made managing all our workstations much much easier and adds a much needed level of security.

**What do you dislike about Iru?**

There have been no downsides that I've come across!

**What problems is Iru solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Kandji has made updating all workstations and adding needs systems incredibly easy. We also wanted to ensure all our team members have individual access to each workstation and the connection with our Google accounts met that level of security while simplifying the process when we onboard new employees.

 ### 6. Great Product - Simple & Efficient

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Simon C. | Director of Cloud Engineering, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 30, 2024

**What do you like best about Iru?**

Kandji is one of the easiest implementation ever, especially comparing to the competition.
Team is gradually adding features, Support is great, with fast responses.

**What do you dislike about Iru?**

It supports only Apple devices, missing support for Windows / Android.
Some advances customization features are still missing.

**What problems is Iru solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are using Kandji as our MDM for our devices inventory management, mainly Macbooks laptops.

 ### 7. Kandji is a reliable and user-friendly MDM solution

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lucas R. | IT Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 28, 2024

**What do you like best about Iru?**

Kandji offers convenient automation for managing applications and operating system patches and makes it easy to sync IDP passwords. The user interface is well-designed and easy to use. Also, the documentation is really comprehensive, and the customer support team is outstanding.

**What do you dislike about Iru?**

Lack of reports. It would be helpful to receive a report on which computers have low storage space.

**What problems is Iru solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Kandji integration with Apple for automated device enrollment and with our IDP (Okta) ensures quick provisioning, streamlining our onboarding process.

 ### 8. For companies looking to scale, this is truly one of the best solutions

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Elijah C. | Systems Administrator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 30, 2024

**What do you like best about Iru?**

I use the service multiple times a day to keep track of our devices. Kandji has been a lifesaver through and through, and one of the most helpful features is the Auto App library. This feature incorperates automatic updates and version control for a continuously growing list of applications. As a one-person IT department for a growing business, this frees up my time immensely so I can work on more specific tasks. What would be a daily multi-step process instead takes seconds to easily implement and deploy. Their support team is unmatched. Every engineer is friendly, personable, and extremely knowledgable. I know that everytime I have a question or concern, it will be answered quickly and efficiently. The dashboard is extremely useful and provides useful, relevant information in an easy to read format. Another huge plus is the ease of ensuring your deployed devices are CIS compliant. With their "blueprint" configuration templates, it doesn't take hours of testing to make sure every device within your Apple fleet is secure from standard enterprise risks. Their SCIM and SSO integration is seamless, allowing all your users and groups to sync over for more granular control. Overall, after using competitor solutions, I would pick Kandji for small-medium sized businesses without question.

**What do you dislike about Iru?**

I don't have much to say about the downsides to Kandji. With it being a fairly new product in the MDM field, the Kandji team has pushed out updates, improvements, and new features on a consistent basis. I hope to see quality of life updates like better sorting, grouping, and assignments that can be based soley on groups/attributes without the need of a blueprint. The UI could be a tad better, especially for mobile access.

**What problems is Iru solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Kandji easily solves the app management problem that many companies struggle with. Kandji makes it easy to deploy up-to-date apps so that new features are available sooner, and security risks are mitigated before it becomes a problem for end users. As expected from any Mobile Device Management platform, the solution makes it easy to manage however many devices you have, all from one well-integrated environment. Managing and enforcing software updates has become a breeze. I only see more of my problems fading as Kandji continues to grow.

 ### 9. Really great customer support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Christopher T. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 29, 2024

**What do you like best about Iru?**

The thing I like best about Kandji, is its support team. They are very responsive, knowledgeable and always willing to help, even if it isn't directly related to their service.
Integration with Apple Business Manager makes device management that much simpler and, if a device isn't there, a link and code will bring it into the system.
The system is fairly easy to use, once you understand all the parts and, when you don't know how to do something, there's that great customer support to help you along.
I like how, once the blueprints are all configured correctly, I barely have to be logged in as everything just hums along and works as it should.

**What do you dislike about Iru?**

I can't think of much that I actively dislike. I had issues with the OS management portion but I think that's gotten a little better. It also didn't help that the versions of OS that we had pre-existing didn't play well with it.

**What problems is Iru solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We operate in a mixed Windows and Apple environment and Kandji deals with all the Apple devices and helps integrate them into the Windows ecosystem.

 ### 10. Great Support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tomas C. | Information Technology Administrator, Information Technology and Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 18, 2024

**What do you like best about Iru?**

Whenever we encounter an issue, we rely on the chat box feature to connect with a member of Kandji's team. It's the best chat box we've ever used. Our representative is incredibly helpful and possesses deep knowledge of the product they sell.

**What do you dislike about Iru?**

We dont dislike anything from Kandji, everthing works great.

**What problems is Iru solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Kandji to manage our fleet of 380 iPads and 60 iPhones.

 ### 11. A winning MDM for Mac Admins

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ty K. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 25, 2024

**What do you like best about Iru?**

Kandji's user-friendly interface, makes it easy for admins to navigate and manage device settings. The platform is robust and gives admins enough control over things like custom scripts and package deployments, without comproising the user-friendly aspects of the platform. Kandji seems to have strong partnerships with Apple, and other industry leading providers (such as Okta), which provide some peace-of-mind when new OS and feature releases are dropped.

**What do you dislike about Iru?**

I would summarise the downsides for Kandji in two words: maturity and extensibility. Because they are realtively new to the MDM space, they have a lot left to build to catch up to the feature set of JAMF. That being said, I've been very impressed with the prioritization of new features released by the product team. Reprting and analytics is another area that Kandji falls short, but there are relatively easy ways to engineer around this.

**What problems is Iru solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Kandji is solving some of our biggest painpoints around managing a macOS fleet. This includes things like streamlining device deployments with features like Kandji Passport and Liftoff as well as ensuring compliance policies are met with features around device management.

 ### 12. Kandji makes MacOS and ios easy to manage in corp environment.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Robert B. | Director of IT, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 10, 2024

**What do you like best about Iru?**

The enrollment process for the managed devices is straight forward and easy to push out.

**What do you dislike about Iru?**

Pricing model for small to mid sized companies with mixed device devices Win/OSX can be challenageing to swallow if OSX device count low.

**What problems is Iru solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Kandji is way better at deploying policy and app controls than Intune's built in feature set. Also from previous experience way more intuitive than competitors such as Jamf

 ### 13. Easy and Efficient

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Katie P. | Business Operations Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 11, 2024

**What do you like best about Iru?**

So much easier to keep track of all devices and ensure everyone has the same software and apps. Also ability to lock the device when lost or stolen!

**What do you dislike about Iru?**

Not being able to allow the employees to delete and reinstall an app if they are having issues without creating a rule specific to serial #

**What problems is Iru solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to easily set up all ipads quickly and efficiently.

 ### 14. Best Apple device management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 12, 2024

**What do you like best about Iru?**

Apple device management that is easy to use with friendly UI and great support.

**What do you dislike about Iru?**

It doesn't support Microsoft Windows OS yet

**What problems is Iru solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Apple device management and control

 ### 15. Kandji is a game changer for Maxio!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shane F. | Senior IT Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 19, 2024

**What do you like best about Iru?**

Kandji has helped our very small IT department with fast and effective Zero-Touch deployments. We can purchase a Mac through our vendor, ship it directly to a team member who turns on the device, connects to the internet and Kandji does the rest!

Kandji's customer support is hands down TOP NOTCH! We always get quick and effective responses!

Lastly, the whole implementation process for Kandji has been quick and easy. We were able to deploy Kandji to all existing assets globally in a matter of days.

**What do you dislike about Iru?**

In today's economy, it can be difficult for many smaller companies to take advantage of many game-changing SaaS tools to help with day-to-day operations. Kandji may be a bit pricey, however, it does save us time and manpower hours.

Other than cost (even though it's really not that bad), we have ZERO complaints.

**What problems is Iru solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Zero touch deployments
Security/compliance checks and software deployment
Securing assets

 ### 16. Great MDM solution for the apple ecosystem

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Robert D. | CTO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 07, 2024

**What do you like best about Iru?**

Easy to setup and use. With an apple business account it's even easier as the laptops will come prepared out of the box. Hooking up to our IdP for laptop accounts via SSO is really nice too. When ever we have a question, their support chat is quickly replied to and so far every issue has been quickly resolved.

**What do you dislike about Iru?**

Doesn't support the windows ecosystem which I understand but would love to see this added.

**What problems is Iru solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Business laptop and mobile device management

 ### 17. Great Scalable MDM solution

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Felix V. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2024

**What do you like best about Iru?**

Ease of use with patch management and zero-touch deployment. Excellent support team with knowledgeable admins. Was able to enroll 200 devices with ease. Continued new features are making the product even better.

**What do you dislike about Iru?**

Needs more auto-app apps. Prism needs a bit of work for false positives or inaccuracies in reporting.

**What problems is Iru solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Managing our Apple fleet globally across 4 continents. This allows users to self-onboard without the need for IT to be directly there to provide support. We can ensure all devices are up to our security standards and enforce restrictions and patch management with ease.

 ### 18. Kandji - fantastic product, great customer support, ease of use

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Omar A. | Sr. Systems Administrator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 29, 2024

**What do you like best about Iru?**

ease of use, ongoing development, willingness to make changes fairly quickly, good UX, fairly intuitive, easy to implement, customer support is friendly and helpful

**What do you dislike about Iru?**

wishing there was management for Windows endpoints

**What problems is Iru solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Allows us to manage our fleet of MacBook laptops and a few iPads, push software, setup OOBE for end users.

 ### 19. Successful implementation of Kandji MDM to manage company Apple assets and enforce security policies

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David P. | Director of Security and Compliance, Financial Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 05, 2024

**What do you like best about Iru?**

The initial setup and configuration of Kandji was very straightfoward. We were able to successfully pilot the MDM solution and deploy it to all company Apple assets in a very short period time with no resulting user issues/complaints. Kandji is a huge improvement over our former solution and has helped us enforce our endpoint compliance framework requirements and quickly adapt to changing needs.

As part of the initial implementation we integrated Kandji with our user directory and identity provider which greatly simplified the deployment and overall solution management. We also integrated Kandji easily with our chat-ops solution to quickly notify our security team of any anomolous events.

Modifying Kandji Blueprints and Library items is very straightforward and the resulting changes are quickly deployed to our endpoints thereby allowing us to easily customize our environment and respond to changing requirements.

We later choose to implement the Kandji EDR solution as well. It seamlissly integrated with Kandji MDM and was a vast improvement over our former solution. Thus far there have only been a few false positivies. Most of the EDR findings were true positives and the resulting remediation improved the security posture for our endpoints.

Our Kandji Customer Success Manager and the Support staff have always been extremely responsive to our companies needs and questions. They have striven to ensure our company is treated more like a partner than just a customer.

**What do you dislike about Iru?**

Thus far we have experienced no major issues with Kandji. The few minor questions and issues experienced were quickly answered and/or resolved when we submitted tickets.

If I had to find one thing to nitpick, I'd like to see more verbosity in the library item change logs details the specifics of changes made.

**What problems is Iru solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our company must conform to multiple compliance frameworks (e.g. SOC and PCI). Kandji and it's integration with our security compliance platform Secureframe help maintain our compliance requirements and the security posture of our endpoints.

 ### 20. Intuitive MDM Software For Apple Devices

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kalon M. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 14, 2023

**What do you like best about Iru?**

Kandji's Suppor team has really made their software standout. MDM setup was smooth and easy to roll out to our company. Along the way though the documentation and the Support's ability to articulate and help us thorugh any issues we ran into has what's really made Kandji stand out. Their continued look to the future and rolling out new updates is also appriciated. They are keen to help roll out new idea's that are brought to their attention.

**What do you dislike about Iru?**

Password management isn't always smooth. Take the time to train your team how to use the password management system and things should smooth out over time.

**What problems is Iru solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed a solution to manange our fleet of Mac products effeciently with out remoting onto individual machines and doing tasks such as updates. Kandji makes keeping our software and system OS's up to date easy and effecient.

 ### 21. School Usage

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ryan B. | IT Director, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 25, 2024

**What do you like best about Iru?**

It is a very easy to use yet versital platform with very knowledgable and helpfull customer service.

**What do you dislike about Iru?**

Although it is priced competitivly. I wish there was more customizable plans to not have to buy licenses in groups of 25.

**What problems is Iru solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Standerdized restrictions and managemnt of deployed devices.

 ### 22. Device Management Tailored for Modern Needs

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dominik A. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 10, 2024

**What do you like best about Iru?**

Kandji is easy to use.You can operate Apple devices quickly and efficiently even if you don't have in-depth admin knowledge of Apple device management.
Its pre-built library of applications and blueprint settings, ensures that we maintain a high standard of security and compliance.

**What do you dislike about Iru?**

The pricing structure is, especially for a non-profit organization like ours, on the higher end.

**What problems is Iru solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- Simple management of our Apple devices fleet.
- Automated and efficient device setup.
- Automated enforcement of security relevant policies.

 ### 23. Easy to setup, comprehensive management platform

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Will B. | Senior IT Technician, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 25, 2024

**What do you like best about Iru?**

It took 20 minutes to fully configure Kandji to deploy 10 MacBook Pros, automated Micrososft SSO and app deployment.
It is so easy to navigate and change settings and the integration into Microsoft Entra ID was fantastic.
Live chat is super responsive also

**What do you dislike about Iru?**

No built-in remote desktop, I cannot really dislike much else!

**What problems is Iru solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Management of Apple Devices

 ### 24. Kandji - Powerful and Easy to use

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Giles F. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 31, 2024

**What do you like best about Iru?**

I like the nice organized GUI and workflow. It has an ease of use and an operator centric design with is rare with technology products. Much like the Apple products it manages, they have spent time thinking about how the user will interact and use thier product. And it works!

**What do you dislike about Iru?**

My main issue is the price, but you get what you pay for. There are cheaper products but they offer such a smaller feature set and my rep works with me when renwal come around, so it helps.

**What problems is Iru solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a school we need control of the Macs we depoly and don't to visit the rooms every day. And for our Admin team that uses the Macs we can secure the devices from anywhere against new threats or issues.

 ### 25. Simple and effective MDM

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aleksandar T. | IT Operations Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 31, 2024

**What do you like best about Iru?**

AutoApps are pretty neat.
Kandji passport in collaboration with Google Workspace is very usefull for my organisation.
LiftOff is great.
The OS updating mechanism is on point because it excludes using of Nudge or similar tools.

**What do you dislike about Iru?**

Log management system needs improvement.
Smart groups based on custom extended attribute feature that Jamf has will be very usefull.
Licensing model is non-standard

**What problems is Iru solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Control, update and patch management of apple devices.

 ### 26. Easy to use MDM for Apple devices

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sean C. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 30, 2024

**What do you like best about Iru?**

Kandji was a very small lift to implement. It connected easily to Apple Business Manager (auto-device enrollment), our IDP (auto-provisionning of users), our GRC platform (anomaly detection and evidence recording), proposed CIS blueprint templates (batteries included), and supported our custom script/apps.

Using the API (detect anomalous software installs) was also a breeze.

Lastly, the support team is always ready to help and jovial.

**What do you dislike about Iru?**

Passport doesn't support Google Workspace MFA with security keys well enough (yet) for us to adopt (which we'd really want to do).

DevOps would love to manage it via Terraform.

**What problems is Iru solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- Manage corporate owned mobile devices (hardening, updating, provisionning)
- Anomaly detection and SOC evidence reporting
- Inventory Device & Software (Software Discovery)
- User support (provisionning, support, termination) in a globally distributed team

 ### 27. Simply the best MDM for Apple devices

**What do you like best about Iru?**

I have been using Kandji for about 3 years and it continues to be easy to use for an admin while also providing the best digital experience for the end user. Kandji's agent is built with a modern UI and contains all of the necessary information with notifications for end users to complete application and OS updates seamlessly. Deploying and updating custom applications with Kandji is seamless even when needing to add pre-install and post-install scripts for macOS.

The Kandji Self Service app library is amazing and was quickly adopted by our Apple end users. For macOS, the auto app library managed by the Kandji teams is incredible and saves our admins so much time with application packaging and update management. I'm really happy to see how large the auto app library is and that the Kandji team continues to grow it for its customers! It is a game-changing feature for my team.

Implementation was seamless and enrollments are easy when integrated with Apple Business Manager.

Their customer support is amazing and it's easy to get in touch with a support agent via their chat from the admin console. If you're looking for the best-in-class MDM for Apple products, Kandji is the one.

**What do you dislike about Iru?**

Honestly, there is nothing I can think of to dislike about Kandji. The Kandji team has truly designed and continues to improve an incredible product.

**What problems is Iru solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Kandji solves the security issue of protecting our Apple devices by allowing our team to restrict certain OS features, enforce encryption, etc while also keeping our Apple devices configured with a company-wide standard which gives our employees the best experience. With the Kandji MDM, our IT team can easily support all Apple devices in our environment.

 ### 28. We have quickly adopted Kandji and we rely on them for our device management!

**What do you like best about Iru?**

Omce installed and running, it requires almost no maintenance.

**What do you dislike about Iru?**

At first the device setup can definitely seem overwhelming and difficult, and requires extra time. In the beginning it was alo somewhat fruystrating to encounter new kinks with various software that couldn't properly function after Kandji was installed. Once we have worked it all out however, it seems like smooth sailimng (fingers crossed!)

**What problems is Iru solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Centrailzed software and OS updates, and having contriol that doesn't allow end users to make modifications tio their workstations.

 ### 29. Solid MDM for Apple devices without the scripting requirements

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 20, 2024

**What do you like best about Iru?**

The Kandji device pre-built libraries and flexible blueprints allow for straightforward provisioning with enrollment from Apple Business Manager, controls and security hardending, patching and OS updating, and grouping of devices. Deployment and implementation are far easier and quicker that more complicated tools in the market. integrating new applications is generally easy if not already included.

**What do you dislike about Iru?**

Kandji could improve with included reporting and analytics based on device types, OS versions, events and activities, and applications installed along with the current CSV download capabilities.

**What problems is Iru solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Zero-touch provisioning, system hardening, OS updates and patching.

 ### 30. Easy entry level Mac MDM platform; but with gotchas

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jamie S. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 05, 2023

**What do you like best about Iru?**

Kandji is easy to get started with for management and enrollment; the direct integration right from a fresh install and boot is awesome - especially being able to integrate with our IDP.
The blueprint pattern is great - as is the ability to bind user groups from the IDP to specific blueprints for automatic assignment.
Once you configure Kandji fully - it's nearly entirely hands off - rarely having to log in unless having to assist with debugging user issues. You don't have to babysit it and update everything constantly.

**What do you dislike about Iru?**

Kandji's pricing has nearly doubled after a year. This came as a complete shock upon renewal. The featureset they provide (or have changed in the last year) is not really worth the doubling in cost from my perspective.

The number of navigations needed to setup and manage blueprints effectively is annoying - and quite challenging to effectively manage devices. The constant redirects and being kicked back to the wrong subsection breaks the ease of use workflow when editing library items from a blueprint.
Occasionally - devices will become disconnected from the MDM - requiring end user interaction to re-sync/re-enroll.

**What problems is Iru solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're using Kandji to meet compliance and device management requirements for SOC 2; and for our internal policies. We also utilize it heavily to monitor device health and make sure devices are kept up to date with services (ie - battery health).

 ### 32. IT Manager

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mario L. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 28, 2023

**What do you like best about Iru?**

The best thing I feel about Kandji is the simplicity of the UI, as well as the ease of integration. From setup to deployment was a breeze and easy to understand each element and functionality. I also want to give very much deserved kudos to the Kandji support team. The customer support goes above and beyond to help when in need, and succeed in handling any and all issues if/when they come up. When Kandji announced their EDR, I was more than excited as having a built in EDR not only limits the amount of tech stacks we deploy, but works with the Apple hardware/software to make security effortless and understandable. I typically will log in and very systems/softwares daily, however, Kandji works so well i'd be surprised to find any noticeable issues on a consistent basis. Overall, I would 100% recommend Kandji for Apple MDM.

**What do you dislike about Iru?**

I don't have any real dislikes I can say about Kandji.

**What problems is Iru solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Having Kandji as an MDM has alleviated the amount of tech stacks we need. We use Kandji built in EDR eliminating the need to have a seperate EDR solution that needs to manually be configured for deployment to all our Apple devices. This helps reduce the amount of time I spend building out security solutions and implementing/deploying them to systems. Also, having Kandji be able to have zero touch deployment to our users has been great as we can order our systems direct through Apple, and have the system pre-configure for our users at the time of configuration. This helps to ensure that our systems are safe and secure, the moment our users start using it.

 ### 33. Kandji is great! Very functional and easy to use.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jamie S. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 28, 2023

**What do you like best about Iru?**

The best thing about Kandji is the customer support. They are very responsive on the chat and provide great solutions. Everyone on the team has been great to work with. The user interface is very clean and very simple and easy to use. It was simple to implement and get running right away. It integrates well with Apple and Google and made it easy to import users and devices. I use it on a weekly basis because it is so easy to setup new devices as well as make updates to existing ones. I highly recommend Kandji!

**What do you dislike about Iru?**

There are not too many things that I dislike about Kandji. In the beginning, it was missing a few features but that are constently expanding and adding features and now it does almost everything I need.

**What problems is Iru solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It saves me tons of time when deploying new devices as well as keeping devices up to date with the latest software and OS updates. It also helps me keep consistent configurations amongst all devices.

Kandji does a great job helping new customers. The website is easy to use and the customer service is outstanding.

**What do you dislike about Iru?**

I haven't had anything I have found yet.

**What problems is Iru solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We found out late that we needed to pass STIG requirements for a job. This can be overwhelming when dealing with it for the first time. Kandji is the perfect partner for this.

**What do you dislike about Iru?**

It would be helpful to have more integrations with several other platforms.

**What problems is Iru solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Security controls are pushed seamlessly and are automatically remediated.
Remote locking and wiping of data.

**What do you like best about Iru?**

Kandji gives me not only the control of my fleet, but in a way that is easy to use and set up. I enjoy being able to log in daily and see exactly what I need quickly. I can also quickly add and edit new configurations when needed, easily! On top of all that, if I ever do have a questions, support has been available quickly. I would defitely recommend Kandji to anyone looking to integrate an easy and powerful MDM solution.

**What do you dislike about Iru?**

I would like to see some better reporting options

**What problems is Iru solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Kandji allows us to deply zero touch with extreme confidence. The added benefit to this is that we can better manage our finances with just in time inventory and avoid stale hardware.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nicholas D. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 24, 2024

**What do you like best about Iru?**

We went from no MDM to Kandji after reviewing several other vendors. Part of the reason was the close relationship with Apple, greatly enhancing the features that apple provides which most vendors have to work with anyway. They were able to meet our core security and management requirements. No hidden extra costs for extra features, which I hate. Simple to set up and get going, with the ability to enhance with custom scripts. Not quite using it to its full potential yet, but has been easy to just get going with the basics and can further enhance as we go. Support is great and will bend over backwards to help you set up as appropriate. Chat has been fantastic with knowledge that seems beyond usual 1st level support. Anytime I have had a question, just popped on to chat and 90% of the time got it resolved, and I do this quite regularly. The Kandji App store is quite useful for end users to deploy their software.

**What do you dislike about Iru?**

Of course the product has its idiosyncracies, so we've had to work around the way the product implements certain things, but I found that with all products we looked at. Fortunately they were minor for Kandji.
Can't buy single licenses. If you have 50 devices, you can have 50 licenses. If you have 51, you require 100 licences. The licensing levels make it difficult to manage budgets, or contain costs. Kandji has offered discounts, which eased this concern.

**What problems is Iru solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ease of software deployment and managing patching levels. Quick to deploy new devices as it can be configured out of the box with required config and software.

 ### 39. Wonderful Apple MDM alternative to Jamf for SMB

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ian M. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 16, 2023

**What do you like best about Iru?**

Big Highlights: API is included in base pricing, Auto apps, OS version managment, Clean & modern mangment UI, solid customer support/.

The API being included in the base pricing is a major plus. It offers solid functinality(Pulling device details, install logs, etc). The API also has pretty good documentation https://api-docs.kandji.io .

The auto apps (A selection of Kandji maintained applications with their installer/updater) saved us many hours of manually uploading new packages for every update as well as reduced the delay to discovering a new version was released. The comunications to the end user also massivley reduced frustration compared to how Jamf notified users.

OS version mangment has pretty decent user facing implimentation. Makes everything clear and does force updates automaticly.

Managment console is clean and pretty quick to update. I do wish there was a dark mode.

Kandji's support is one of the largest differentiators vs most other apple MDM platforms. They offer 24/7 text chat support that is able to help with everything from Kandji UI questions to help writing/fixing scripts to deploy software not supported by AutoApps or when a script is required. When I was told of this part of their offering I did not expect the folks on the otherside to be as skilled and on top of things as they were!

**What do you dislike about Iru?**

Highlights: RBAC does not offer very finite control, Lacks mangment console/api logging, General log pushing to storage buckets IE S3.

RBAC offers only 4 tiers for controling managment UI access. Would be nice if there was options for custom roles with more finegrained access.

There is no current logging of mangment actions taking.

**What problems is Iru solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Enforced our desired security posture as well as reduced mangment complexity. It also allowed for API access at a low price then Jamf.

 ### 40. Effective and Easy to Use

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sterling C. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 25, 2024

**What do you like best about Iru?**

Kandji has the most straightforward, easy-to-use interface of any of the main 3 MDM platforms for Mac. Everything is laid out very logically and works the way you would expect. As a one-person IT department, it's very useful for me to both not have to spend time doing a lot of arcane script management and command line prompting as well as having a tool that's easy to train someone else on for the times when I'm out of office.

Implementation/integration was very easy when we switched over from our former MSP and their MDM to in-house management and Kandji. The documentation was robust and easy to follow and the experience for end users was simple and quick. The customer support team was responsive to any questions that came up, and have since come up, and are always prompt with answering questions without any kind of runaround.

Kandji has all of the features our organization needs. We're a small, ~50-person org, so our needs might not be the same as a larger enterprise organization, but for our purposes it's the perfect tool from a cost/feature/ease-of-use perspective. I probably only have to log in to Kandji once every 1-1.5 weeks because it's very easy to set it and forget it.

**What do you dislike about Iru?**

I have no major complaints about Kandji. Like all MDM software, there are idiosyncrasies and end user frustrations, but on the whole the negatives are extremely minor and from an admin perspective I don't have any complaints.

**What problems is Iru solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's an MDM, so it solves the problem of managing all of our devices.

 ### 41. Easy to Use

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rafe M. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 24, 2024

**What do you like best about Iru?**

I looked at many different MDM's on the market and Kandji was one the easiest to set up. It is very easy to use, easy to deploy to our fleet of Apple Ipad's keeping our drivers connected to what they need and by keeping the device safe.
Setting up and editing blue prints are very simple to use for different departments.
Tech support is very knowlegeable and quick to answer any questions.

**What do you dislike about Iru?**

Not a Kandji issue as I would love to have Ipad remote capabilities. Other then that Kandji hit everything that I was looking for.

**What problems is Iru solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Kandji is making it possible to manage a fleet of devices easily and securely.

 ### 42. Small IT team approved!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Justin H. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 22, 2024

**What do you like best about Iru?**

We went looking for an MDM solution that could be administered by a small IT team. Something that was straight forward, user-friendly, and enabled the company employees to be aware of the process of keeping their laptops up to date.

We found Kandji and it was immediately clear that this was the solution for our company. Kandji comes with initial profile defaults that follow security standards but also allow you to easily deviate for company standards. Their auto-apps allowed us to enable and enforce upgrades across the company for most day to day software. The Kandji agent allows employees to not only access a software self-service area but also informs users what upgrades are happening and allows them to trigger upgrades when it is convenient for them.

Their integrations with various external SaaS products is great and allows us to share data or alerts in established workflows.

All in, we were able to get up and running with Kandji within a week by a single employee.

**What do you dislike about Iru?**

Requires a 100 seat minimum license.

It would be nice to drive the configration via common code software (Terraform) rather than clickops.

Their EDR addon is easy to enable and provides the type of protection that we require. As a company in the gaming space, it would be nice to not flag Steam or other game installs as PUP violations.

**What problems is Iru solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Kandji is keeping a secure, enforced baseline profile for our Apple devices; including OS. Additionally, it provides 3rd party software management that ensures our employees are using the latest, security patched releases of common business software.

 ### 43. Kandji for our Organization

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Montana J. | Systems Administrator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 14, 2024

**What do you like best about Iru?**

Our organization is in love with the Passport for signing in using our Entra IDs, as well as the Kandji Self Help Portal.

**What do you dislike about Iru?**

The pricing model's smallest option is 50 devices, while we only have ~25.

**What problems is Iru solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Kandji is allowing our users to securely sign into their devices.

 ### 44. Let the Queen Bee Rule

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chris C. | Sr. IT Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 17, 2021

**What do you like best about Iru?**

Kandji is clear, concise, very easy to use right out of the box. Their system of modularizing apps and parameters into Library items, which can then be added to and removed from Blueprints for different classes of a machine is brilliant and well thought out. Out of the box security templates make for great starting points when creating new Blueprints. The overall performance of Kandji is my favorite thing of all. Systems respond very quickly to profile updates, changes and machine enrollment is a snap. Lastly the ability to combine VPP, Custom Apps and Scripts into a easily custom branded self service kiosk is the icing on the cake. Did I mention their customer support is excellent? It is. Kandji should be your next MDM.

**What do you dislike about Iru?**

Occasionally they are a little slow getting their auto app library updated with the latest versions of applications. We have had some issues with operating system updates that Kandji has had to provide elaborate scripted workarounds for. I feel like they could do a better job of sorting this out with Apple beforehand, as each is dependent on the other.

**What problems is Iru solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Quick and easy management of hundreds of home-officed Macs at a cost that doesn't crush a startup.

 ### 45. User-friendly MDM with excellent support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 24, 2024

**What do you like best about Iru?**

Very easy to use
Quick to implement thanks to user provisioning
Responsive and helpful customer support

**What do you dislike about Iru?**

Some advanced features feel limited (but are continuously improving)
Managing alerts can sometimes be cumbersome

**What problems is Iru solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Simplifies device management for our remote workforce and ensures compliance with InfoSec standards, reducing security risks.

 ### 46. Our Experience with Kandji has Been An Extremely Good One ...

**What do you like best about Iru?**

Kandji is extremely intuitive. Its very easy to integrate and implement. Which is great because we use it extremely frequently. Its extremely feature rich, but not kludgy. The customer support we get from our Lead Sales representative is unparalleled.

**What do you dislike about Iru?**

Can't think of any down sides at the moment.

**What problems is Iru solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Patch management, MDM, EMM.

 ### 47. Hands free macOS management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kyle B. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 23, 2023

**What do you like best about Iru?**

The Kandji console is laid out in a simple, easy to use format that is ideal for an Apple novice. The integrations with Apple Business Manager, Automated Device Enrollment, and Azure AD were straight forward to confgure. Their customer support has been very responsive to our questions.

**What do you dislike about Iru?**

The lack of a remote shell where commands can be run on per device basis is lacking. This is most likely a limitation of Apple's MDM

**What problems is Iru solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Prior to implementing Kandji, we had no management solution for our Mac devices. We would verbally instruct users on the configuration of the device until we could get an application like Teams or Zoom installed where we could take remote control. At that point, we would then manually install applications. Now with Kandji, our devices our enrolled in Apple Business manager by our resellers and then assigned to Kandji. Kandji takes care of all of the enrollment, software installation, and configuration.

 ### 48. Great MDM system that fits our needs as a startup perfectly

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jim G. | Compliance Officer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 24, 2024

**What do you like best about Iru?**

As a compliance officer, Kandji is a tremendous asset in ensuring our endpoints are updated to meet our SOC 2 Type 2, PCI DSS 4.0, and internal standards. Kandji's adoption of the declarative device management framework has greatly improved the managed updates process for macOS. We find great value in using Kandji and inquiries with our account representative are always responded to promptly.

**What do you dislike about Iru?**

Prior to the DDM framework, we had a few OS update incidents but have not seen this behavior since the adoption.

**What problems is Iru solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Managing updates is crucial to saving us time, allowing us to spend valuable not having to manage updates manually.

 ### 49. Intuitive and forward thinking device management for modern Apple admins

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Zack N. | Mac Genius, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 19, 2023

**What do you like best about Iru?**

Just rounding a year with Kandji as our MDM platform we've seen that the company is highly responsive to industry trends and customer needs.

This can range for day 1 support of Operating systems and popular app updates to simply being able to connect to a Kandji Engineer in moments should you have a question you can't solve through their slack channels or support articles.

It's user interface is practical, clean and easy to navigate and overall pretty great. Deployment of new profiles are easy through their blueprint platform and they have a lot of natively managed apps that make managing application continuity a breeze.

Implementation was a breeze by all considerations. We were paired with an engineer who worked with us to mirror and improve on some configurations from our previous MDM and I was able to move our 500+ device fleet over inside a few days. Naturally, YMMV.

We've also found plenty of useful integrations within our IDP and set up some really straightforward native security features to increase posture without sacrificing our end user experience.

I work in Kandji daily and can say that it is much preferred to other MDMs i've used in the past at our scale.

**What do you dislike about Iru?**

The only major gripes I have with the platform are in it's search features, lack of smart groups and some reporting limitations.

Other than this, not much. The company is quite responsive to it's user community and keeps a pretty transparent roadmap of features and change progress.

**What problems is Iru solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Intuitive and approachable MDM that takes a modern approach to device management and security.

 ### 50. Best MDM for Mac Platforms

**What do you dislike about Iru?**

Sometimes they are slow to release system updates or fixes.

**What problems is Iru solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Managing our fleet of Mac systems and ensuring they are constantly updated and secured.
