What do you like best about Filevine?

There's some new features now in Filevine that makes legal representation process way easier than ever, Demands AI, grants us the opportunity to prepare a comprehensive demand in no time, a process that use to take a couple of days for us is now completed in around 2 hours, this is amazing. What do you like best about Filevine?

Filevine gives us the backbone to run our operations consistently and at scale. I appreciate how customizable the workflows are—allowing us to tailor the system to our processes across departments. Automation, task management, and integrated reporting (with tools like Domo and Lead Docket) have improved visibility and accountability at every level. What do you dislike about Filevine?

Many features that should be standard—like robust reporting (Domo), AI-powered document automation, and advanced integrations—require significant extra fees. There’s no native sync with local drives or most document management systems, so we had to pay a third-party vendor to make that work. The add-on costs can add up quickly and aren’t always transparent at the start. New releases sometimes lack documentation or support, and you have to be ready for a fair amount of internal troubleshooting. It's all-encompassing in that it allows our firm to make notations, send faxes, generate letters, and track all case information in a customizable format. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Filevine?

certain functions will suddenly not work for a few hours. For example, I find that I will return to a document that I previously extracted pages from to find that the pages are back, even after I saved it. I also dislike that Filevine will sometimes complicate sections unnecessarily by adding too many functions and pop-out windows. For high-volume firms like ours, simple, clean, but functional is best. What do you like best about Filevine?

Filevine is incredibly customizable and you can edit the platform to achieve nearly any kind of general workflow you'd like. On a user level, Filevine is incredibly easy to navigate and utilize to it's full functionality if the build team has done their job correctly. Filevine works wonderfully when integrating with other applications.

We have thousands of clients/cases and over one hundred users all actively working out of Filevine 40+ hours every week. For the most part, Filevine works seamlessly despite the many different users and frequency of use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Filevine?

Filevine's customer service and IT support are essentially non-existent. They maintain a portal to submit features requests and it needs serious work. There are tens of suggestions that are already implemented features but their status stays "open for voting", presumably meaning it will be even longer before Filevine addresses the sorely needed feature requests that have not been addressed.

There are some incredibly silly issues that should be incredibly easy to fix, but the issues persist. For example, if there is a text field for a currency amount, Filevine does not include any commas. This makes it much too easy to accidentally type $1,000,000 versus $100,000.

You absolutely NEED to work with a Filevine Implementation Partner to use this product. Filevine straight out of the box is incredibly simple and Filevine provides less than zero support to Admins working to build their firm's navigation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Filevine?

One potential drawback is the time and technical knowledge required to fully build out your system—especially if you're working within a tight budget. Some degree of coding or advanced configuration experience can be necessary to maximize its capabilities without relying heavily on paid support.

What do you like best about Filevine?

Filevine has significantly improved our firm's workflow by centralizing all aspects of case management into one platform. I especially appreciate the ability to customize project types to fit different case categories, which helps keep everything organized. The task flow automation and deadline tracking features reduce manual errors and make it easier to stay on top of important litigation dates. Additionally, the activity feed and commenting tools improve communication between team members, ensuring everyone is updated in real time. What do you dislike about Filevine?

While Filevine offers many helpful tools, it can feel overwhelming at first due to its many layers of customization. The learning curve is steeper than expected, especially for new team members without prior database or case management experience. Some features, like custom reporting and advanced search filters, require training to use effectively. What do you dislike about Filevine?

Our experience with this system has been extremely disappointing. We paid for a product that was unworkable and never completed, and despite repeated attempts, the support provided was neither timely nor effective.

The fixes that were offered came far too late, communication was inconsistent, and the third-party assigned to us admitted fault, lacked expertise in our field, and even brought in a fourth party to try and mitigate their lack of skills (VineSkills). Calls and responses were often delayed or indefinitely postponed, which added to the frustration.

This situation borders on fraudulent, and the lack of professionalism and responsibility is deeply concerning. I cannot recommend this platform based on our experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
