What do you dislike about Filevine?
The product was inaccurately advertised in sales phase, but actual product was not as represented. They did not allow access to software before signing contract -they do a customized demo (cannot be downloaded - only played "live" during sales call) that inaccurately portrays the actual product. Many features were incomplete or not working (later represented as "known issues" by Help Desk). They required a costly training/onboarding and data migration service (several thousand dollars), and refused to allow us to waive this service, as I did not think we needed it. I was told that onboarding would include customization to our needs (Filevine employee would meet with us, learn our firm's specific needs, and build out custom product for us). Instead, the onboarding was contracted out to a third party (Encoretech) who was terrible. There was absolutely no customization and basically was given generic training videos and outlines to show how to do customizations myself - not at all as sold, and not of value for the (required) cost. Every time I expressed my concerns, FV employees would demand to address on phone/Zooms (never in writing) which prevented transparency in handling and also demanded an extraordinary amount of time in my schedule. The "onboarding" took two months and software was not accessible this entire time - again, not as promised and an extraordinary cost to our firm in the interim. Some features never worked as advertised - for example, I communicated in sales conversations the need for compatibility with Apple and PC for our firm and was assured this was no issue; once I paid for the product I was told that there were known compatibility issues, requiring our firm to purchase additional third party software to use the document integration features (Docs+). Throughout the first three years, it was impossible to get a reasonably prompt response from FV for any customer service/billing/tech issues - typical response time was 7-10 days. My contract was for 3 years and when that ended, they raised the price without my knowledge. They failed to communicate appropriately when price increased and refused to work with me on it and threatened to hold my firm's data hostage if I did not pay the increased price. I had to modify other tools to fit Filevine; it did not work well the other way around. We work around Filevine's weaknesses, basically. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Recommendations to others considering Filevine:
Filevine has, ultimately, created more problems than it has solved for our firm. In retrospect, I wish we had not switched from our prior provider. Delays in customer service response and lack of transparency from employees cause consistent issues and cost our firm. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
