## Kickstarter Reviews
  ### 1. Kickstart Review

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joel A. | Sales Consultant Farm Machinery, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 01, 2024

**What do you like best about Kickstarter?**

What is most helpful about kickstarter is that it helps the ideas and projects of people come to reality through the funds they receive.

**What do you dislike about Kickstarter?**

It has neglected the African community to a degree. You can not apply for funds if you are from Africa.

**What problems is Kickstarter solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helping people raise funds other than going to the bank for loans.

  ### 2. An excellent platform for innovative startups

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Islam A. | Senior Accountant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 29, 2023

**What do you like best about Kickstarter?**

It provides an opportunity to invest early in innovative products & programs and getting value out of the goods

**What do you dislike about Kickstarter?**

Most of the projects gets delayed and kickstarter is usually helpless in these situations. Once the project goes through there is no way to return or get your funds back.

**What problems is Kickstarter solving and how is that benefiting you?**

So many innovative products are provided daily on kickstarter and you really get the best value if you invest early in these products

  ### 3. Kickstarter is helping SCAMs to raise money.

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Accounting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 30, 2021

**What do you like best about Kickstarter?**

you can find interesting product with some new features

**What do you dislike about Kickstarter?**

they promote also SCAMS and take no responsibility after

**Recommendations to others considering Kickstarter:**

Be aware of fact, that you risk your money. If product is succesfuly done then you win.
But if production of stuff is not done you will loose your money.

**What problems is Kickstarter solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They did not step into SCAM cases, they help to be funded by backers. :(

  ### 4. Huge risk of losing your money on Kickstarter

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nathan V. | SEO Specialist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 07, 2021

**What do you like best about Kickstarter?**

Interesting innovations and new products "for grabs", but ...

**What do you dislike about Kickstarter?**

I ended the first part with "but ...", because there's a HUGE "but". Because it's crowdfunding, there's a risk of you not getting anything. That shouldn't be too much of a problem, BUT: Kickstarter therefore attracts many scam "creators" that take your money and then disappear. Due to the nature and terms of Kickstarter, this means you lose your money and Kickstarter takes 5% of your money just because they are the platform for the campaign. They will not take any responsibility if a creator falls silent after the project has been funded. They just stick to some standard replies, telling you to contact the creator (HOW?) and basically tell you it's your problem.

So the platform is only a platform, not protecting the people who actually fund the platform with the 5% Kickstarter takes and lets any creator do whatever they want and run off with your money.

**What problems is Kickstarter solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Kickstarter used to be a great platform to get products at a really good price if you were patient enough to wait for the creators to develop and produce. Now, it's just too risky to put your money in.

  ### 5. Total Scam, use another service

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 30, 2021

**What do you like best about Kickstarter?**

Absolutely nothing, there is nothing to like

**What do you dislike about Kickstarter?**

Kickstarter arbitrarily select projects they want and change their rules for those they don't. Even when there are campaigns approved for companies that operate in exactly the same way, they invent new reasons or say they've changed their rules.

**What problems is Kickstarter solving and how is that benefiting you?**

None - total waste of time

  ### 6. Kickstarter is one of the leaders in crowd funding and for good reason

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Emery D. | Digital Marketing Strategist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 14, 2019

**What do you like best about Kickstarter?**

I think that when people think of crowdfunding, they often think of Kickstarter. I like using Kickstarter, since it was one of the first major crowd funding websites that became known to the main stream. So when we can present an item or project through Kickstarter, I think that we're presenting ourselves to a wide audience in a credible platform. There are many excellent features to help present our items in an engaging way, including a very easy to use text editor that allows us to add images, video and hyperlinks.

**What do you dislike about Kickstarter?**

The cost that we have to incur for transaction fees is somewhat on the high end when it comes to creative crowd funding websites. I also don't really like the amount of time it takes to approve projects. Sometimes I want to move things forward quickly and need to know what changes we need to make to projects as soon as possible.

**Recommendations to others considering Kickstarter:**

I would explore Kickstarter and its capabilities as much as possible because they always seem to be evolving with new features. Even if it's not something that you feel is a good fit for your needs now, it can be a great platform at some point down the line.

**What problems is Kickstarter solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Kickstarter has been a great crowd funding website for us to post information about a variety of products and services. Even if we don't convert as many sales as we would like, we typically can get our message out more without having to spend a great deal of money on ads or subscription fees. Kickstarter allows us to build a community where people can follow us and contact us directly through private messages. There are also message boards and life streaming capabilities that we have used to broadcast our message.

  ### 7. A crowdfunding website with lots of great products and users that are engaged

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Emmett Y. | Marketing Consultant, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 29, 2019

**What do you like best about Kickstarter?**

I like that Kickstarter takes time to vet its projects so that a ton of bad ones, so to speak, can be filtered out to make the visitor experience more pleasant for potential project backers. I think the feature for making a pledge is very straightforward and fun for backers to scroll through to see what incentives they get for making a pledge. To add a project to Kickstarter is relatively easy. We also have the ability to embed more dynamic media such as animated GIF images and web video, so it's not just basic images and text.

**What do you dislike about Kickstarter?**

I think the fee that Kickstarter charges along with the payment processing fees can take a significant cut from project creators. Kickstarter has tried to implement more real-time streaming features recently, which I think is a great idea, but it hasn't been something many people seem to participate in as I expected by now.

**Recommendations to others considering Kickstarter:**

Even if your project isn't considered art-related in an obvious way, I think Kickstarter can still be an excellent platform for commercial product launches. I would try to be as creative as possible with the story you're telling and the incentives you provide.

**What problems is Kickstarter solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Kickstarter has probably been the most effective way to host a crowdfunding campaigns with reliable payment processing and a user base that is of generally high quality. Many of the backers on Kickstarter seem curious and willing to give new project creators and products a chance. Using Kickstarter has been a good way to get information about products out into the digital universe with minimal expenses.

  ### 8. A crowdfunding website that has a highly active community with lots of selling potential

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ned R. | Senior Account Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 03, 2019

**What do you like best about Kickstarter?**

I like that Kickstarter vets its sellers so that not everyone can sell on there. If everyone could sell on there, then there would likely be a traffic jam of sellers and products that make it hard for good products to stand out and be found. About the website itself, the design is very modern and works well on both regular computers and mobile phones. The search feature makes it easy for buyers to find exactly what they're looking for. They also have search fields that allow people to pull up categories and locations of sellers and products.

**What do you dislike about Kickstarter?**

The approval process for new listings can sometimes take a long time. If there are issues with the listing, that could drag things on much longer. The customer support takes a very long time to get back to you and they often will give canned responses. I understand that they have many users to deal with, but I would think they would have the capability to respond more meaningfully by now.

**Recommendations to others considering Kickstarter:**

There is little risk to posting a listing on Kickstarter, so I would suggest giving it a shot if you want to post information about a new creative product or service.

**What problems is Kickstarter solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Kickstarter is still one of the better known crowdfunding platforms and has been great for us to get products out to the public. Even if people don't actually buy through Kickstarter, they can obtain key information and have a better understanding of our products and company background. We have used the messaging platform in Kickstarter to communicate directly with leads, which helps us to build a relationship with them. It is also helpful that ended listings can have links to our website to promote more conversions.

  ### 9. "A trustworthy crowdfunding stage with wide reach"

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anita L. | Film Director, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 21, 2019

**What do you like best about Kickstarter?**

Kickstarter has many worked in apparatuses that help venture makers through the undertaking accommodation procedure and offer proposals to give their tasks the most obvious opportunity at progress. The general procedure is commonly clear and just requires a charge card and financial balance to be connected. For an administration that inalienably has many trust and security issues, I think Kickstarter works superbly at staying up with the latest, educating its clients on best practices, and persistently following up on presumed extortion.

**What do you dislike about Kickstarter?**

It tends to be fairly hard to make your venture emerge among the few hundreds, or even thousands, of different undertakings on Kickstarter at some random minute. Likewise, the venture endorsement procedure can take quite a while and the exchange charges can be somewhat strong.

**Recommendations to others considering Kickstarter:**

I'd recommend presenting your undertaking for endorsement at the earliest opportunity so you can have sufficient opportunity to advance the venture the dispatch date. In spite of the fact that it might appear as though your venture is effectively headed for endorsement, no one can really tell how things can be seen from the Kickstarter side, so you ought to be set up for anything.

**What problems is Kickstarter solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Kickstarter gives us a stage to offer items and convey brand acknowledgment to the organizations we speak to. The passage cost is low, so there was definitely not a lot of hazard or speculation required. Kickstarter is likewise an incredible method to get input from clients and leads about items before they are completely propelled.

  ### 10. A user-friendly crowdfunding platform with a wide audience

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Leo D. | Marketing Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 23, 2018

**What do you like best about Kickstarter?**

I like how easy it is to sign up for Kickstarter. There are many straightforward fields for entering information about our projects. Along with clear instructions for each field, we are given suggestions about how to maximize the effectiveness of our submission data. The Kickstarter community is generally very gracious and supportive. Kickstarter itself offers many helpful articles, tutorials and other tools like live streaming to help project creators promote and run a successful campaign. The Kickstarter website is clean and packs lots of content from many different projects. They make it easy to find particular projects with their search tools. Users can search using categories, subcategories, cities and keywords. Kickstarter also provides lots of campaign analytic tools like traffic reports and tracking links.

**What do you dislike about Kickstarter?**

Since Kickstarter is one of the most popular crowdfunding platforms, it's rather hard to make your project stand out among the many live campaigns. They have a somewhat restrictive rule that only allows projects to be funded if their goals are reached. That can make things tricky for us sometimes since we can still make use of partial funds. Other crowdfunding platforms allow projects to be funded if their goals are not reached. It would be nice to give project creators the option for partial funding. They can perhaps leave it up to project backers if they want to fund projects that didn't reach their goal.

**Recommendations to others considering Kickstarter:**

I think since there is no upfront cost to entry, aside from the time and effort you put into creating your project, Kickstarter is a great way to get your company and products out there for people to see. I think if you don't succeed with it your first time around, you should be able to learn from any mistakes to make you next projects more likely to succeed.

**What problems is Kickstarter solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Kickstarter has been a great platform for promoting products, regardless of if funding goals are reached. We can post information about our products and company, which allow people to get a better understanding about what we do, what we offer and who we are. We can do all of this for a relatively low cost. When a project succeeds, the fees we pay are very well worth it and usually below our standard budget for traditional marketing efforts.

  ### 11. Good for raising money

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** nicole g. | Business Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 27, 2018

**What do you like best about Kickstarter?**

Using the interface was easy , it walked you step by step through the process and helped with many tips and tricks to get funding and make your campaign every social.

**What do you dislike about Kickstarter?**

If you don’t have great advertising, marketing and computer skills it can be hard to build a campaign that will go viral, you also need a great social media backing to even get off the ground. At least in my personal opinion.

**Recommendations to others considering Kickstarter:**

Have a great social media following or a lot of people willing to share your kickstarter campaigns then you will utilize it best and get the ,ost backings.

**What problems is Kickstarter solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I was looking to raise money to expand my business

  ### 12. A great way to fund your dream

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brett M. | Video Maker, Internet, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 27, 2018

**What do you like best about Kickstarter?**

I love the community aspect of Kickstarter, and the fact that you can grow a following internally on the platform. If you have a great idea or unique product you want to bring to market, then . Kickstarter is the right choice

**What do you dislike about Kickstarter?**

I mean it sucks if your campaign doesn't reach it's goal. and that's probably the worst thing about the platform. If you don't reach the goal you initially had in mind, then you might be penalized for it.

**Recommendations to others considering Kickstarter:**

Kickstarter is a great way to fund business projects, or personal projects. I would highly recommend making sure that your customers, clients, or followers are aware of the kickstarter campaign, and be sure to have some enticing rewards for whoever decides to support you. Investing in some marketing for the campaign probably wouldn't be a bad idea either!

**What problems is Kickstarter solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have seen concepts become reality. Having things like card games, short films, and even movies become realities because of Kickstarter

  ### 13. A dependable crowdfunding platform with wide reach

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Val G. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 02, 2018

**What do you like best about Kickstarter?**

Kickstarter has many built-in tools that help project creators through the project submission process and offer suggestions to give their projects the best chance at success. The overall process is generally straightforward and only requires a credit card and bank account to be linked. For a service that inherently has many trust and security issues, I think Kickstarter does an excellent job at keeping protocol up to date, informing its users on best practices, and diligently acting upon suspected fraud.

**What do you dislike about Kickstarter?**

It can be rather difficult to make your project stand out among the several hundreds, or even thousands, of other projects on Kickstarter at any given moment. Also, the project approval process can take a long time and the transaction fees can be a bit hefty.

**Recommendations to others considering Kickstarter:**

I'd definitely suggest submitting your project for approval as soon as possible so you can have enough time to promote the project the launch date. Though it may seem like your project is easily bound for approval, you never know how things can be perceived from the Kickstarter side, so you should be prepared for anything.

**What problems is Kickstarter solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Kickstarter provides us with a platform to sell products and bring brand recognition to the companies we represent. The entry cost is low, so there wasn't a great deal of risk or investment required. Kickstarter is also a great way to get feedback from customers and leads about products before they are fully launched.

  ### 14. Business analyst

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Han P. | Sales Representative, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 27, 2018

**What do you like best about Kickstarter?**

It is a good opportunity for fundraising with the low commission to the amount of fund you have raised. As well you can set the dates for the flexible deadlines.

**What do you dislike about Kickstarter?**

1. Not a very convenient way of receiving the fund
2. Customer support is not the best
3. All-or-nothing funding
4. Not all the projects are accepted for funding and not very clear policy for project types.

**Recommendations to others considering Kickstarter:**

If you have a great idea that based on the customer needs to get funding is secure and possibly. A great platform to get funded from the crowd your business ideas if you don`t have enough money source.

**What problems is Kickstarter solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mostly the project funding and supporting new business ideas with the crowd.

  ### 15. good tool for business

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Human Resources | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 27, 2018

**What do you like best about Kickstarter?**

This is an awesome tool to be able to promote your own growing business, as well as take part in other people's growing business. Individuals are able to support one another through funding and promotion. I love that i am able to participate with other people as well.

**What do you dislike about Kickstarter?**

Sometimes, it is hard to promote my own project unless I share it myself. I would love for other people to be able to access my project easier as well.

**Recommendations to others considering Kickstarter:**

Use this product! If you have an idea that needs funding this is the best way to do it. They are efficient and inexpensive and can really help you launch your business.

**What problems is Kickstarter solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I love that I am able to promote NEEDED projects in our world today. People are able to have free access and donate to these products in a beneficial, tangible, and needed way.

  ### 16. Great Crowdfunding service

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Solana M. | Secretary, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 01, 2018

**What do you like best about Kickstarter?**

Kickstarter has a large base and it is likely that your fundraiser will be seen by numerous people, increasing your chances of full funding.

**What do you dislike about Kickstarter?**

I do not like the percentage tax that kickstarter has, I think their program would have more use and less problems if they turned to a more ad-based revenue system. While their 5% service charge is not the most ridiculous, it certainly can become burdensome for larger projects.

**Recommendations to others considering Kickstarter:**

While I think it is important to view all of your options before crowdfunding through this service, Kickstarter is reliable and will always be an option (but perhaps the most expensive one).

**What problems is Kickstarter solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Kickstarter is very useful for funding projects especially larger ones that may not have been able to have funds allocated to them.

  ### 17. An effective crowdfunding platform to increase brand visibility

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Goods | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 08, 2018

**What do you like best about Kickstarter?**

I think Kickstarter's greatest values are the high amount of people that are aware of and regularly use their platform and Kickstarter's ability to weed out a significant amount of low quality campaigns. Though Kickstarter has certainly had its fair share of subpar campaigns, when you compare it to other crowdfunding platforms, Kickstarter does a good job at accepting quality campaigns with product and service offerings that are notable to funders. I find that campaign creators and backers can generally be trusted more often than not.

**What do you dislike about Kickstarter?**

The Kickstarter campaign builder can be somewhat restrictive of how we want to present our campaign. To lay things out the way you want may require clever formatting or creating linked or embedded assets like YouTube videos or animated GIFs. I think the fees are somewhat high. We have to pay a fee to Kickstarter and the payment processor.

**Recommendations to others considering Kickstarter:**

I think you definitely shouldn't rush to get your campaign up and running. Just because you've filled in all the required details doesn't mean you'll have an effective campaign. You should do a good amount of research about what similar campaigns are doing and try to focus on the things that seem effective. Of course, you don't want to copy other campaigns, but seeing how they format things can be a great road map for your campaign.

**What problems is Kickstarter solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Kickstarter provides us with a simple platform to reach out to prospective customers without having to spend any funds upfront. Even if campaigns weren't funded, we'd still get value from being on Kickstarter by making potential customers more aware of our brand and what we offer. We can put our brand in front of a large audience that is typically open to discovering new products in the creative marketplace.

  ### 18. Kickstarter is a great way to start a business

**What do you like best about Kickstarter?**

It's an easy to use platform to get people to donate to a startup

**What do you dislike about Kickstarter?**

I don't love that sometimes it can be glitchy.

**Recommendations to others considering Kickstarter:**

Make sure you put a lot of time into the content to make it the best campaign possible!

**What problems is Kickstarter solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Money problems - if you have a good product or idea, people will donate because they want to be a part of it.

  ### 19. Simple platform for launching business!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Goods | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 25, 2018

**What do you like best about Kickstarter?**

I most appreciate the way Kickstarter's intuitive web design helps building a campaign simple and stress free.

**What do you dislike about Kickstarter?**

I am not a huge fan of the color scheme but to each his own.

**Recommendations to others considering Kickstarter:**

Give it a try, in the world of crowd funding there are no losers.

**What problems is Kickstarter solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I was in need of a way to crowd source funds for a custom furniture business I was beginning. Kickstarter help me buy the tool I need to get off the ground.

  ### 20. Great crowd funding site
