"ActiveBatch review by Jannatul"
What do you like best about ActiveBatch?

This tool enables users to automate their workflows and manage tasks independently through an intuitive interface, which helps minimize the need to depend on IT for basic automation requirements. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ActiveBatch?

The interface may seem overwhelming for those who are new to the platform. Additionally, creating and managing complex workflows often demands specialized training or prior experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Finally a tool that makes connecting all our crazy systems"
What do you like best about ActiveBatch?

What I really like about ActiveBatch is how powerful and flexible its job step library is. It makes integrating with various applications and technologies surprisingly straightforward right out of the box. For example, setting up dependencies across different systems, like databases, file transfers, and custom scripts, feels much less like building a complex puzzle and more like assembling building blocks. Plus, the monitoring and alerting features are top-notch, giving us great visibility and control over our entire workload landscape from a single point, which is essential for our operations. It handles complex workflows reliably. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ActiveBatch?

If I had to pick a dislike, it's probably the initial learning curve. While it's powerful, getting fully up to speed with all the features and best practices can take a bit of time, especially for someone new to advanced workload automation concepts. The interface, while functional, could sometimes feel a little less intuitive compared to some modern web applications, making navigation slightly clunky at times. It's not a showstopper, but it's something to be aware of when you're getting started. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"ActiveBatch: Increasing Efficiency through Simplified Workflow Automation"
What do you like best about ActiveBatch?

I really like the way the monitoring has improved — the live dashboards and alerts save me from constantly checking logs. The scheduling feels more flexible now, and connecting with cloud services has become simpler, so I don’t have to spend hours on setup. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ActiveBatch?

Sometimes it still feels like you need to dig around a bit to figure out a new feature. A few quick step-by-step guides inside the tool itself would help a lot. Also, if the log search could be a bit smarter, it would make troubleshooting much faster. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"We can finally schedule jobs across different platforms without a hassle"
What do you like best about ActiveBatch?

ActiveBatch Workload Automation provides users with an easy solution for controlling intricate workflows. The visual job designer offers an easy-to-use interface which enables quick process arrangement. The visual job designer makes it easy to create data integration tasks with multiple steps which results in time savings compared to manual setup processes. The system provides real-time monitoring alongside an alert platform which proves useful for our operations. The system notifies users instantly about job statuses and alerts instantly if problems occur thus reducing system downtime. ActiveBatch enhances our organisational efficiency by providing connexions to multiple enterprise applications. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ActiveBatch?

Smaller teams that lack IT support will face difficulties when implementing the system because setup procedures tend to be complicated. The system interface becomes disorganised which creates obstacles for users during navigation. The system's complexity problems decrease when users get more comfortable using it. "Our job scheduling accuracy is significantly improved, thanks to ActiveBatch Workload Automation"
What do you like best about ActiveBatch?

I like so much about ActiveBatch that it makes us inhumane coordinating between departments on different tasks. Rather than needing to have separate schedulers or requesting for jobs to be kicked off manually, all is governed by rules and schedules. This has helped pull the IT/data teams together, and the loose coupling has made it useful when the scripts depend on each other. The things that are running are well known to everyone, when they are and why, without any extra emails or check-ins. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ActiveBatch?

Something that I do not like about ActiveBatch is that the interface looking a little dated and clunky when trying to build new workflows. In some cases, minor changes are not as simple as a few extra clicks or layers of settings combined to slow us down. Furthermore, jobs fail sometimes with less than clear error messages and so it takes more time when troubleshooting. It definitely increases friction of daily use, but it doesn’t change the system being reliable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Our batch jobs run like clockwork now"
What do you like best about ActiveBatch?

ActiveBatch provides automated workflow management capabilities which enable me to establish and control tasks between multiple systems through an effortless process. ActiveBatch enables me to execute data transfers between databases and cloud services without involving human operators thus maintaining consistent data while lowering error rates. The tool provides seamless application integration that enables full automation of company business operations. The system provides immediate notification features which enable me to take prompt action whenever issues surface during operation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ActiveBatch?

The process of initial implementation requires extensive effort and lasts for a long duration. Small teams without specific IT experts might find the required infrastructure knowledge barrier to implement this solution effectively. The system's user interface often becomes too busy which creates difficulties for fast navigation through the system. Novice users tend to experience substantial challenges while adapting to the system since they will require additional training for mastering its functions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"I have been using ActiveBatch for more than 10 years, starting with version 7"
What do you like best about ActiveBatch?

Tree structure for objects is much more efficient for data separation between Prod and Non-Prod and between clients, projects or groups.

Having recent experience with a product that used a flat structure, I have greater appreciation for it. Imagine having a file system that allowed only a root folder and a single layer of child folders, no other subfolders. AB, in contrast, allows subfolders.

The Execution Queue paradigm in AB makes selecting which servers run jobs extremely easy.

Exporting objects from AB is remarkably easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ActiveBatch?

The interface in version 12 is not as good as previous version as some columns are not well aligned and V12 layouts require window resizing to see some data fields. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"We finally have visibility into our processes and it's a relief"
What do you like best about ActiveBatch?

ActiveBatch Workload Automation is unique because it is so able to schedule. Since complex workflows like automating our monthly reporting is perfect, it’s just what we needed. One thing that is something I still find simple to use is the drag and drop interface which makes creating and editing work flows easier. I use it in everyday situations, and seen how it seamlessly supplemented our current data transfers and updates, as hard work gets taken care of. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ActiveBatch?

The one thing I’d pick is that the initial setup can be overwhelming for new users. However steep the learning curve is and your understanding of the features naturally rises with use. It has a real charm to it, for most tasks, but the documentation is not very user friendly, especially for beginners. This did not happen, yet the interface feels a little outdated to me, compared to others. Often, it feels you need to be a seasoned pro before your able to use everything it offers. "Our team finally found a way to eliminate headaches with automated workflows"
What do you like best about ActiveBatch?

Adding ActiveBatch to our automating our workloads list really works. It allows us to save a lot of time and effort in processing and handling complex task across multiple systems. An example is its file transfer feature allowing for smooth movement of data between servers, something that troubled us quite a bit until now. Also, materialises, its task dependency management is godsend as there’s no more need to worry about tasks running out of sequence. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ActiveBatch?

ActiveBatch is great, except there is room for improvement. On rare occasions, we have to simply restart here and there. Additionally, the user interface could be updated and more modern, user friendly. For instance, figuring out how to set up certain job dependencies was something we had to take time to work out.
