**What do you like best about Bonterra OneCause?**

The Fundraising Platform is pretty easy to use once you learn it. Updates are always being made and you guys seem to listen to customer feedback.

**What do you dislike about Bonterra OneCause?**

Go back to dedicated sales reps for customers. It was easier, better service, more personable. Didn't always have to explain everything to each person you speak to. Also, offer the ability to always be able to sort supporters by last name. When trying to pair people up for bidder number sharing in Event Supporters, you should be able to sort by last name. This would make it so much easier. Also would love the ability to be able to reclass donations - if a donor made a purchase, but later decided they wanted it to be a donation instead of a purchase, the ability to reallocate it would be helpful. Often, sponsors accidentally pay as a donation, but then I cannot move it. It skews my analytics.

Also in the P2P platform, it would be so helpful if it were more like the fundraising platform for reporting and data analysis.

Peer to Peer fundraising and non-profit auction. Also, pop up fundraisers and a new donate to vote event. Very intuitive for users

**What do you like best about Bonterra OneCause?**

I have used One Cause for more than 20 years at two different non-profits and it is the most user-friendly and intuitive software product I have used. The ability to import the prior year's event is valuable and saves so much time. The system is fairly intuitive, so it's easy to train volunteers to assist with data entry. The software has been an incredible tool to raise funds for our school!

**What do you dislike about Bonterra OneCause?**

The ability to add multiple pictures more easily than the current method would be highly preferred, as well as, being able to see the pictures larger. 

**What problems is Bonterra OneCause solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have seen our auction grow more successful each year, increasing the number of bids and ways for people to bid even if they don't attend the event.

**What do you like best about Bonterra OneCause?**

I love how accessible help is on OneCause through their ai features and their tutorials, I have used both whenever I have questions. Especially since my first time using a platform like OneCause was only two months ago, I have had to get a lot of help to understand it and that help always has come directly from OneCauses  help features.

**What do you dislike about Bonterra OneCause?**

Sometimes it takes me a moment to realize what I need to ask ai or even to search within tutorials because I won't know what the right words are to use.

**What problems is Bonterra OneCause solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I realize that their AI features make it easier to explain what is happening that I need help with, as their tutorials don't always directly answer my question as AI does.

**What do you like best about Bonterra OneCause?**

I love how Bonterra OneCause made our event planning seamless. It was a great experience for the attendees and super easy to navigate. The integration between the silent auction tickets and sponsorships was really phenomenal. It was great to be able to look up different users and see their interaction and engagement with the event site. OneCause offered excellent consulting that helped us be ready for the event and be set up for success. It was very easy to set up, and I love that OneCause offered weekly webinars that helped us really understand what we needed to do in order for it to look and perform the best.

**What do you dislike about Bonterra OneCause?**

The only thing I can think of is I would love for the donors to scroll on top of the event page when people log in and see the event.

**What do you like best about Bonterra OneCause?**

I love how Bonterra OneCause keeps my events organized and on schedule with helpful checklists. The automated calculations save me from doing the sums myself, and I appreciate how it fixes auction descriptions. I find the event health check feature crucial to ensure nothing essential is missed for my events. It's really easy to use, and I especially love calling the helpline and getting a real person to walk me through any problems. They are very knowledgeable. The silent auction feature is clear and precise, and the layout works well. My bidders have been happy with the display photos. I also value the suggested bid amounts, which take the guesswork out of monitoring auctions. The initial setup was explained perfectly through email and setup instructions, and any problems were easily resolved through the event helpline. I never feel alone as I always have someone to turn to in moments of need!

**What do you dislike about Bonterra OneCause?**

It would be awesome if we could have a QR code for scanning guests in at registration. We always seem to get long lines at check-in. I had a situation where I hadn't logged out of my account and shared the link with some friends. I thought it was the general link for our event (my fault), but it was my own personal account! I think if you don't log out after about an hour, the software should have an automatic logout system.

**What do you like best about Bonterra OneCause?**

I like that Bonterra OneCause is very organized; everything has its own place. I appreciate that it divides supporters and auction items and that the ticketing setup is really easy to understand and maintain. I also like the package options that allow for either a fixed price, silent, or live items, which helps a lot with our events.

**What do you dislike about Bonterra OneCause?**

I don't really like the supporter section when, like, for a golf tournament when we have a foursome and we can put one name in, and then everything else is 'guest of.' It would be nice to have an option specifically for golf tournaments to divide them up by the players. One thing that isn't helpful is when you're setting up the website, and you try to put pictures in to display, you have to use the Dropbox option. That can be really confusing for somebody who hasn't done it before.

I use Bonterra OneCause for managing auction items, organizing table assignments, supporters, and donors, and collecting donor data.

**What do you like best about Bonterra OneCause?**

Bonterra OneCause has made organizing our events much more efficient, bringing everything into one place. The software links everything together, making it easy to track ticket sales, guest preferences, and run reports for our catering service, which is wonderful. I love how quickly we can upload table assignments and send event details to attendees with a simple text during check-in, simplifying everything. The onsite support is invaluable—having an event manager present made our gala run smoothly, alleviating stress. The training courses are incredibly helpful, offering bite-sized, specific content. Also, the fact that Bonterra OneCause is amazingly intuitive really stands out to me.

**What do you dislike about Bonterra OneCause?**

I would love to be able to have more robust display sheets for the Live Auction and/or Silent Auction items. Or be able to modify them before printing them. The Show Manager slides we don't use, mostly because we would like to be able to modify those as well. The display sheets and slides are very generic. I realize you need to cater to all organizations but having the ability to move components around or upload a better image or accommodate all of the sponsors in a more appealing fashion are all things we were wanting to do with the display sheets and slides.

Bonterra OneCause consolidates our event planning, letting us track ticket sales, sponsorships, and meal preferences effortlessly. It streamlines communication with sponsors and simplifies table assignments. The support system is impressive, with options like AI help that quickly answers questions and call support that is just a phone call away. Their great customer service and event support have been a huge asset, providing confidence during significant events like our largest fundraiser. I also appreciate the super easy check-in process for our guests, which made them feel prepared and reduced frustration at our events.

I would have liked more help in the beginning to learn the system. There are many training videos but a weekly virtual training would have helped me more.

I like that Bonterra OneCause offers lots of options for ticket types, and they helped create the pages in the beginning.

**What do you dislike about Bonterra OneCause?**

I'm finding the integration with Bonterra OneCause a bit problematic as it doesn't provide the proper tools to collect information effectively. There are issues with custom questions or forms that could be improved. Currently, you need to upload a link to an external form to gather specific information, which isn't very convenient. For example, gathering details like department or total headcount for events can be cumbersome. Managing ticket sales with Bonterra OneCause can also be tricky; you have to manually remove tickets from one category and add to another to avoid overselling, which makes it difficult to track total seat availability accurately. The initial setup and training are tough because the system isn't very user-friendly, and there are too many places to find things, making navigation quite challenging.

Bonterra OneCause offers many ticket options and helped create registration pages initially, but had integration issues, lacked tools for data collection, and needed better custom forms and handling of ticket sales to avoid overselling.

I like that OneCause centralizes all revenue enhancers, including live and silent auctions and paddle raises. I love that our representative is personable and enjoy meeting with her to hear ideas on how to smoothly manage our website and optimize performance. She can answer any questions we have and is proactive in following up on any she might not have the answer to right away. I also appreciate the easy initial setup.

**What do you dislike about Bonterra OneCause?**

I'd like for there to be more customization with our fundraising page. It's not very clear if that's an option. I'd like to make our page more themed with our gala, including changing the background color and adding fun elements.

OneCause has partnered with Bonterra, which I believe will improve their integration with other engagement tools. They've also upgraded their fundraising platform, greatly improving the UI/UX of the backend tool, and enhancing the mobile check-in features. 

**What do you dislike about Bonterra OneCause?**

They have yet to develop support for Apple devices in their new fundraising platform. It is Android-dependent, so you'll need to have your own devices or rent them from OneCause to facilitate event check-in. 

**What problems is Bonterra OneCause solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We like to check in donors and ask for a credit card swipe at the beginning of the event to facilitate paddle raising and pledge processing. OneCause does this all for us, as well as matching up paddle numbers, table assignments, and more.

I truly appreciate how user-friendly OneCause is, as it makes setting up and managing our fundraising events remarkably straightforward and hassle-free. Its features, such as the ability to assign tables for large gatherings and efficiently handle nearly 350 guests, stand out as particularly impressive. The instant prizes and instant buy options have greatly improved our event experience, lending an added sense of professionalism and convenience. I also value the platform’s seamless sponsor payment integration, which saves us a significant amount of time, and the flexibility to run silent auctions online well in advance, which has proven to be extremely helpful. I am impressed by how well OneCause fits our organizational needs without requiring complicated integrations or adjustments, allowing us to operate in our preferred way and boosting our overall efficiency. The platform offers even more potential beyond our current use, and I look forward to exploring these possibilities. Features like the upcoming use of paddle numbers for live auction bids show that OneCause continues to evolve to meet our growing requirements. While I ultimately found the platform to be user-friendly, adapting to its features was initially a challenge, much like with any new system. However, with each event, the process becomes smoother and I continue to discover more of what the software can do.

The most helpful is the use of One Cause University that covers every little thing that comes up as you are putting your event together in a quick video tutorial that is under a few minutes.

**What do you dislike about Bonterra OneCause?**

I didn't have any problems that I experienced while using One Cause to set up our Live and Silent Auction for our Nov 2025 event.

**What problems is Bonterra OneCause solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We used OneCause for our Home for the Holidays Gala on November 15, 2025, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The platform made our event run smoothly and significantly enhanced both the guest and staff experience. The volunteers who had to use the back end of the software had no problems and One Cause University made it easy to train volunteers.

**What do you like best about Bonterra OneCause?**

What I love most about OneCause is how genuinely easy it makes things for both our team and our supporters. We run a lot of events, and having a platform that feels simple, intuitive, and not intimidating for donors is such a gift. It takes a lot of stress off of us, especially on event days, and lets us focus on the actual people we’re serving rather than chasing down logistics.

**What do you dislike about Bonterra OneCause?**

My only dislike is that certain settings aren’t always easy to find. As someone who wears a lot of hats and juggles multiple projects, I really appreciate when everything is straightforward and visible. A bit more clarity in some menus would make the experience even better.

**What problems is Bonterra OneCause solving and how is that benefiting you?**

OneCause solves the problem every small nonprofit knows too well, trying to do the work of five people with a team of two and a heart for a hundred. Before OneCause, event days felt chaotic: juggling paper lists, tracking who paid by check, chasing down missing info, and praying everything matched in the end. Now, everything lives in one place. It’s organized, clean, and helps us breathe a little easier.

The biggest benefit is that it frees up our time and mental space to focus on what actually matters, our families, our donors, and the mission in front of us. Instead of getting stuck in the weeds, we get to show up fully for the people we serve. And honestly, that’s the biggest gift a platform can give a nonprofit like ours

Whether you're planning a gala or a golf tournament, the platform includes specialized features designed to enhance your success. The design team is proactive in gathering user feedback and frequently rolls out updates to better customize and refine the experience. In addition, the online and personal event consultants provide helpful advice, making it easier to run events smoothly and with less stress.

I think it's inconvenient that events can't be copied from one year to the next, as this creates extra work whenever I need to add a new event.

I think Bonterra OneCause has a fairly easy platform to use with not a huge learning curve, which really helps. Plus, it has really good support.

I wish there was an easier way to email and text people who are coming to the gala. You have to download a report and highlight all the email addresses, which makes it a bit more challenging. There's also a thank you letter feature you can send out to supporters after the gala, but you can't personalize it and it's not as pretty or as professional-looking as it could be.

The back-end user interface was exceptionally clean and user-friendly. It performed flawlessly on the day of our event, and the staff were a pleasure to work with throughout both the preparation and production stages. We relied on it often to monitor updates across every aspect of our gala planning.

We experienced several problems with refunds not processing correctly, and we also struggled to locate the specific types of reports we needed. It would be helpful if all reporting features, including reconciliation reports, were accessible from any location. Handling offline donations proved challenging and sometimes resulted in duplicate entries. We would appreciate the ability to integrate with DonorPerfect and DAFs. Additionally, we are looking for more options and customization in communications, as some templates were only available for text when we wanted to send them as emails.

The end product (event website) is leaps and bounds better than the old platform. The OneCause Fundraising Platform: (Professional) produces a modern site that is so much easier to build and customize as the organization, and so much better to navigate as the consumer. The back-end dashboard is easy to navigate. And the reporting is more comprehensive and so much easier to use! We were a little reluctant heading in to the upgrade because we couldn't get great information about the Stripe credit card processing. Under the old system, the clunky, cumbersome credit card transaction reporting made reconciling for our business office very difficult - difficult to the point that we only used the old platform for our annual auction and gala and ran everything else through our Acceptiva platform. Thankfully, our fears we unfounded as the Stripe system is again, leaps and bounds ahead of the old process. With the total upgrade of the platform and the credit card transactions, we will utilizing the OneCause Fundraising Platform: (Professional)  for more than just our once-a-year gala!

**What do you dislike about Bonterra OneCause?**

There are 2 small issues that I would like to see addressed, neither of which are prohibitive to use or recommendation. First, the texting interface requires that you upload the csv file of phone numbers each time you want to send a bulk message AND there are words/phrases that you can not use without them being replaced with asterisks. Our event this year was held at The River's Casino Ballroom. We could not use the work 'casino'.....Second, I have not found that the platform is as 'organization-centric' as described relative to the old system being 'event-centric'. The new platform is better in that regard, but it still requires some jockeying back and forth rather than being fulling automated - this is in terms of communicating with 'supporters'.

OneCause (BidPal) is easy and intuitive to use for a nonprofit's annual gala. I have utilized it at two organizations for cumulatively over 10 years: at one organization, we contracted with OneCause for their on-site staff support; and at another, have used the "DIY" version -- both of which have been good, smooth experiences. It provides all the tools we need, allowing for the entire run of a gala to function within it as a single software solution: ticketing, bid numbers, live auction, silent auction, fund a need, buy-it-now, etc. A particularly useful benefit is the built-in texting tool, allowing us to communicate with guests in a direct, timely fashion.

**What do you dislike about Bonterra OneCause?**

The design customization tools are relatively light. There are ways to use outside design approaches to get your BidPal site to be an extension of your event's branding, but options (such as font/color/graphics) are relatively simplistic.

We host an annual gala with pretty traditional elements (ticket sales, sponsorships, live and silent auctions, fund-a-need paddle raise), and OneCause (BidPal) is a single-solution software that allows us to keep all of the event's activity cleanly and simply operating in one place.

While there are many incredible things about OneCause, perhaps the most impressive is their Customer Service. Anytime I have a general or specific question, they are always quick to answer and very friendly. We've had an on-site OneCause rep for our events, and they are also amazing. Our non-profit school couldn't ask for a better organization to partner up with.

I haven't found anything I "dislike" about OneCause. I've suggested that the Silent Auction bidding have the option to show who the top bidder is, as our parents and families are very competitive and like to have fun when they are bidding for items. Other than that, we are thrilled with their support and the entire OneCause platform.

Prior to using OneCause, our platform was very costly, and not supportive. It was also not very user-friendly. I like the paddle raise feature in OneCause. It makes it easy to preset the levels in the order in which our auctioneer will move through them, and it's easy to quickly capture in real time each paddle. It took a huge weight off our shoulders not needing to manually record with pen and paper. I enjoy how easy it is to set up tables and assign attendees. It's easy to edit last minute if you have any changes that need to happen the day of, which is extremely important as it makes the registration process smooth. OneCause has saved us time in pre-event planning, allowing us to be available for more tasks and reducing stress. This ease of use also gives us more flexibility in venue choices, knowing the registration process will be simple. We have better historical records because of how easy it is to capture attendee giving. The updated platform is more flexible and easier to adapt than previous tools we've used. The initial setup was very easy.

**What do you dislike about Bonterra OneCause?**

I wish that when folks were claiming or purchasing a free ticket, it didn't automatically prompt for a credit card. Our guests get very confused or frustrated when it asks for their card information, and they don't have anything to purchase. I wish this was an optional setting or would come after they have answered other questions, not the first thing they see. I also wish that claiming a ticket would be on its own screen, not a slide out window on the side, as this can be hard for our older attendees.

Procuring donation items, event attendee check-ins, and conducting silent auctions online save us from using separate Excel spreadsheets. Having all reports available in one place rather than spread across multiple platforms and spreadsheets is incredibly convenient.

The training could be better. The person went really fast and it wasn't until I got more staff involved in learning the check-in process that we really were able to figure things out. It is also very complicated and involved, and the tutorials are many. The best help we got was with calling in to the tech support line.

What I appreciate most about the Fundraising software is the excellent support and how easy it is to use. I especially love the AI feature, which is able to answer almost all of my questions. Whenever I need additional assistance, the customer support team is always available and incredibly helpful, no matter how trivial my request or question may seem.

One thing I find challenging is that it doesn't connect directly with our current CRM, Raiser's Edge. However, we're planning to switch CRMs soon, and I'm really looking forward to having one that integrates with OneCause. This change will make my job so much easier and help me complete my tasks more quickly, especially after an event.

We also ran into technical glitches during one of our events, including delays with guest check-ins. While customer support was responsive, the need for real-time fixes during a live event added stress we hadn’t anticipated.

Adding event supporter details is piecemeal; it would be nice to add all their information, including their CRM ID, in one place.

Communication & onboarding is great! I have always had a great experience with my reps. 
Their customer service is top notch. 
Their trainings, help & the "university" are all very user friendly. I've never been made to feel as if the questions I ask are too simplistic. 

We use the OneCause software at least once annually for our largest fundraiser of the year. I'm looking forward to using the AI feature for describing the silent auction items. 
For our annual fundraiser, we utilize the onsite assistance that is offered. Each person we've had is kind & helpful. One of the things I like best, is they offer to assist us in streamlining and even make suggestions. For the last 2-3 year's we've had Kara. I'd love to have her join us each year! 
There have been times when she will even send us specific reports to assist with expediting our closeout night of the event. Truly she's wonderful. 

If you're toggling with the idea of having an on-sight rep, I would encourage you to do so! 

I have not used the side to integrate with our own software, I'm also looking forward to trying that out next year as well.


In short, if you've been using paper & pen for your auctions, you're leaving $$ on the table. Especially once you consider staff time.

**What do you dislike about Bonterra OneCause?**

For our NPO, we have struggled a bit with which report we should pull to get which info. Especially to be in compliance with the reporting or Auditors like to see.  
That being said, since we've been with OneCause for 5+ years we've been in talks with them & have received needed assistance on pulling the appropriate reports.  (Again, their support is wonderful!)

If I were to change a few things it would be the following:
1 - have a small info bubble on each report.
2 - have reports customizable / editable. Maybe to drag and drop what you'd like in the report. 
Idea: Patron name, email, purchased items, donations, paid or unpaid, picked up or not.
3 - have a check box, for in house use for "completed" & "followed up with guest" Just to help keep things tidy post event.

We are a nonprofit organization, and this year we used OneCause for our largest fundraiser of the year—YachtVenture—an outdoor event hosted at a local marina with more than 450 attendees. We were absolutely thrilled with how seamless the platform made our admission process and silent auction.

**What do you like best about Bonterra OneCause?**

I really appreciate the levels of customer service support, especially in all phases of the event fundraising - from pre-planning to post event, there's support from our OneCause Rep and onsite assistance during our event. I also like how there's openness for feedback and suggestions for features we would like to see. The recent upgrade to the OneCause system is incredible, and much more user-friendly than the old system. The interface makes it easier to customize to our needs, pull reports in a timely manner, create an incredible landing page for our event, and with so much more features such as sponsor packages, donations, auctions and shops, and even ticketing options, it's given us the freedom to really utilize the system to our advantage. OneCause has modernized how we do events. It's also gotten easier to implement into our event coordination, as well integrating organization specific branding and event design.

**What do you dislike about Bonterra OneCause?**

I truly think OneCause needs to the integrate with GiveCampus already. It's been a long time waiting. We already use both systems frequently, so I am not sure why it has not been happening. OneCause still has a long way to go in terms of issues with this new system - i.e. how to make it easier to delete event supporters/sponsors from an event without having to delete every single ticket.

Silent auctions are already a beast, and OneCause making it easier by modernizing systems to make organizing a silent auction easier.

The classes are great and going back and watching them helps too when setting up the event.

Some of the reporting could be streamlined:
1. Once a guest is in the system, their information should auto fill for us to confirm is correct and edit appropriately, instead of reentering ALL of their information.
2. Event Supporter tab should pull ALL of their support; it lacks donations made.
3. Table settings would be great if you pulled one person and it pulled everyone that requested to sit with that person. 
4. We had trouble this year with procurement items duplicating, thankfully it was corrected in a timely fashion.

Even after two years of use, I often have to rely on trial and error by pressing tabs until I find the right feature or function, which can be inefficient. Additionally, the setup process was cumbersome enough that I needed to watch tutorials multiple times and create practice auctions to fully understand the system and train others.

The orientation and support have been so helpful, and the AI help feature is quite good.  OneCause was simple to set up. OneCause offers a intuitive system for people of all skills to use while offering deeper analytics and system functionality if interested. We utilized their auction resource and had a good experience overall (minding a learning curve for first event use). We feel with proper practice OneCause will be more and more helpful with each event. We do like the offerings and glad we chose it along with the price point currently.

OneCause is lacking in some areas and their early integration with Virtuous CRM has has some pain points. We look forward to updates on tutorials as they develop the product more. There are some limitations, including copied auction items tying to a lot number and limiting details. The Proceeds Manager function could use some functionality upgrades to fit the nuances of donors and reporting. I also feel there should be at least one session offered to new clients once their first event of use is in play. This would allow the right questions to be asked to make the product even more understandable and positive feel on use.

Saving time, added functional needs, cleaner auction options, analytics, reporting, and communication options.

It has lots of features for our annual auction making it easy to navigate all our needs in one platform.

**What do you like best about Bonterra OneCause?**

We had been using a different auction software for many years and there were a lot of issues we had. After doing a lot of research, I chose OneCause as our new platform for our 2025 annual gala. I could not have been more pleased! Our donors loved the ease of registering, purchasing tickets, bidding, etc. I loved the ease of using the software, adding auction items, sponsors, etc. I know I did not utilize the software to its full capacity and will continue to explore for our next event.

**What do you dislike about Bonterra OneCause?**

All of the downsides I experienced were addressed by OneCause's customer service. For example, our donors love to have bidding wars with their friends on the silent auction items, however, OneCause does not allow the donors to see who is bidding. Customer service agreed with this and passed our concerns up to the correct department.

**What problems is Bonterra OneCause solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have just implemented OneCause in November 2024 for our April 2025 gala. The AI aspect of entering auction items was so helpful and sped up the processes of entering items. I did have a concern that the procurement verses lots was a little more difficult to organize but customer service said they would tell the software engineers to take that into consideration.
