I love their report and letter functions. Makes it so easy to keep in touch with donors.

It doesn't manage business contacts - especially multiple within the same company- as I would like.

I love that I can keep track of couples, households, and multiple emails and addresses per couple and person. Also so much easier to manage couples with different last names than just an excell spreadsheet.

**What do you like best about Bloomerang CRM?**

Such a great UA--easy to pick up and just run with it. Love that they are doing constant updates and improvements with little to no disruption of service. Best of all? Their help desk and support forum are AMAZING. If I have to, as a last resort, submit a help ticket the answer is always helpful and spot on with tips/tricks and guidance to be able to do it  myself the next time.

**What do you dislike about Bloomerang CRM?**

Having to have donors as households or not households...no designations other than individuals/business. Having some foundation/grant aspects built-in would be great, too. The workaround for the aforementioned is ok but could be improved.

**What problems is Bloomerang CRM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Donor communications are so slick and easy now. With a simple click, I can make a note that I've sent a card or acknowledgment w/out having to create a letter.

I love the ability to track interactions and connect this platform to other third-party platforms. The UX is top-notch, and communications features (e-mail, letters, etc) are very easy to use.

Sometimes connecting to a platform (like Zapier) is a little bit harder to run because of the way search criteria and constituent profiles are set up.

If you are looking for a platform that provides donor relations software combined with communications and engagement tracking, this is for you. You can customize profiles however you need to, and pulling reports is easier than some other platforms I've used. UX is easy to adapt to and very 21st century. And they over plenty of add-ons to make your goals more achievable

**What do you like best about Bloomerang CRM?**

I love the ease of use that Bloomerang provides for any new users. I barely have to train people on doing basic functions because it's intuitive. I also love that Bloomerang is constantly changing and learning from other systems.

**What do you dislike about Bloomerang CRM?**

I am always hopeful that they will make the letter creation a word doc instead of a pdf so that we may make minute changes. I am not a fan of a lack of bulk edit abilities.

**What problems is Bloomerang CRM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have been able to streamline our solicitations and emails. Before Bloomerang we had a separate email system that made it difficult to track who got which of our emails and when. Additionally this has severely limited the human errors that have occurred in the past.

**What do you like best about Bloomerang CRM?**

We shifted to using Bloomerang about a year ago and I have loved how easy it was to pick up-- it's extremely user-friendly. The main screen gives you a great overview of your active campaigns, your fundraising to-date, and any new donors that you need to call and thank.

**What do you dislike about Bloomerang CRM?**

The reporting feature is a little complicated but I'm getting the hang of it, and Bloomerang provides plenty of access to tutorials and live assistance. I opened the chat feature and someone helped me right away!

**What problems is Bloomerang CRM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm able to be more donor-centric and track every interaction- not just gifts. I can track emails, phone calls, in-person meetings, etc. I can have my board members and other staff log in and track the same things. I'm also more aware of where I am against my goals. My old donor software didn't show me these things!

If there was a downside to Bloomerang it would have to be the limited fonts in the letter app.

We benefit greatly from the live person chat help.  They are always so helpful in assisting us in developing reports for data mining.  With their help we have been able to fine-tune reports that alone we were retrieving too much data.  Their consultants guide us through the process by asking questions to pin point the exact data we need from the report.

The reports can be difficult to construct.

Bloomerang's customer service is top notch.  They are always very friendly and are never in a hurry to move onto the next customer.  They want to make sure that if I reached out for assistance that I received exactly what I need.

We are able to identify our top 20% of donors and build relationships with them and track those relationship building assignments.  Our donation amounts are slowly increasing per donor.

Bloomerang is the most user friendly donor database that I have used. Being in the non profit industry for nearly 20 years has provided me the opportunity to try a ton of software. By far Bloomerang outshines them all. But most of all, it's the customer service and support that keeps me coming back year after year.

Honeslty my dislikes have nothing to do with Bloomerang or the staff. I dislike that I have not utilized all the tools that they have to offer to make my job easier.

If you are considering using Bloomerang, do not delay. Get with the team to help you find the right fit for your organization and utilize all the tools they have to offer.

I am able to access donors and donor info at the click of a button. Running reports...I can now say that it is fun to do and not a hassle.  I am able to integrate social media, financial reporting etc without having to do double work. Bloomerang is a time saver.

I love the dynamic reporting features that let you fully use every piece of data to help you plan as you fundraise and steward your donors!

I wish that custom fields could be integrated into forms instead of automatically defaulting to the bottom of the page.

The only downside is that Bloomerang does not include software for peer-2-peer fundraising. However, you can integrate other P2P platforms with your Bloomerang database at an additional price.

We have more insights into our fundraising patterns, and we are able to keep track of our interactions with donors to ensure that everyone receives a personal touch. I have also enjoyed the frequent training and professional development opportunities provided for free by Bloomerang.

Bloomerang allows our nonprofit to track all donations, volunteer hours, donor engagement levels, and contact information.  The reports enable us to monitor ROI (return on investment) as well as key metrics.

Whatever I have disliked about bloomerang, I have submitted for review.  Currently, I hope they will continue to improve the email template platform to allow for more creativity.

**What do you like best about Bloomerang CRM?**

Bloomerang is intuitive and integrates both email and embedded forms for donations, registrations, etc.  They've also recently added a Mail Chimp integration in case you already use that platform or want to do elaborate email campaigns.  Donor interactions like emails and donations are automatically propagated to their donor file which saves a lot of time.  While they offer a lot of free training opportunities, it's very easy to navigate and the learning curve is very short.  Their price is very affordable for small to medium sized non-profits.
I'm also currently using Bloomerang at another non-profit where I serve on their Board.  They do a lot with memberships, tour ticketing, and volunteers utilizing more than one platform, but Bloomerang is still working well for them.

**What do you dislike about Bloomerang CRM?**

If most of your fundraising is event-based, then this might not be the optimal choice.  Some other software options have much more robust special event modules.  You also have to sign a 2-year contract up-front and keep a credit card on file.  If they have to invoice you, then an additional charge is added.

**Recommendations to others considering Bloomerang CRM:**

Make a list of what features you need, what you'd like and what you really don't need.  Look at the alternatives and rate them in the first two areas.  View demo's on at least your top 3-5 choices.  Ask to "play in the sandboxes" of your top 3 choices before making a decision.

**What problems is Bloomerang CRM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am tracking donations, recording interactions and keeping every aspect of my relationship with each donor in a single location that can be easily retrieved.  I'm also using the integration with DonorSearch to help identify prospects for mid-level and major gift giving.  In my current role, I instituted Bloomerang as our first donor management system.  In my prior role, I converted from the PC-based version of Raiser's Edge to Bloomerang.

The help section is comprehensive.  But, as a one person development team, the rapid access to live help is incredible.  I can keep moving through projects even when I need help.

Some of the fields should be more customizable.   Also the quick book export feature needs clarification and expansion.

Knowing which donors to reach out to, keeping track of acknowledgements, tracking email blasts.  All of the reporting features are helping me create a 3 year development plan.

**What do you like best about Bloomerang CRM?**

I am a small shop - one person, wearing all hats. Bloomerang is so intuitive, that I don't need to run (in a panic) to my IT guy...ever. It's easy to use, which is not to say that it is unsophisticated. It has everything I need to track donors, grants, tasks, and the report section is terrific. But what I like best is the support from Bloomerang. It's quick, it's easy, and then I can move on with building relationships with my donors.

**What do you dislike about Bloomerang CRM?**

I'd like to have two or three campaigns show up on my dashboard - only one at a time is visible.  Pretty small potatoes.

**What problems is Bloomerang CRM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I converted to Bloomerang to resolve unreliability issues with my former software. Done. I converted, because I wanted integrated communications options. Done. I converted because I wanted a better online giving program. Done. I converted because I wanted streamlined data entry. Done.  The benefit of all of the above- more time in my day.

Hands down, the best part about Bloomerang is the customer service. My sales rep still (more than a year later) checks in with me to see how I'm doing both personally and professional - he didn't forget about me and move on to his next potential sale. The chat feature is absolutely wonderful, the staff manning this are kind, considerate and incredibly helpful. Bloomerang as a whole is completely focused on customer satisfaction and helping non-profits exceed their goals.

The only negative thing I can say about Bloomerang is that I wish there was a way to manage my events through the product rather than purchasing additional costly software.

**What do you like best about Bloomerang CRM?**

It's so user friendly and support or extra help is always available, even years after your transition! We love that it's all web-based and that they continuously monitor and listen to the needs of their customers. It has provided the best solutions for our needs. The reports are very helpful and very user friendly. There are so many wonderful components that have made things much easier for our non-profit to manage our donor relationships!

**What do you dislike about Bloomerang CRM?**

The only thing that I can think of as a dislike from Bloomerang would be a very specific need that our non-profit radio station needed, and it's a dashboard or platform for our on-air fundraisers that we do twice a year. We have come up with a solution for it, but hopefully this will be built into their system as a future roll out.

**What problems is Bloomerang CRM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Data! So wonderful having access to all kinds of reports and data. That has been a HUGE help for us. We did not have anything close to this within our last donor database. It gives us such a great view of our donors and how to cultivate deeper relationships! We are now tackling expired credit cards with the new report that shows failed cards and gives alerts. The email functionality is very helpful as well. The acknowledgement letter is a beneficial resource!

Bloomerang is a simple to use, friendly database that works well for all sizes of organizations.  The report feature is easy to use, no queries to worry about, and exports easily for whatever purpose you need.  

The customer service via chat is always helpful, even when you might come across a feature or tool they don't have available, yet.  They are constantly adding new features to ensure you get the most use of your data in ways that are convenient.  

The pricing plans are built to grow with your organization.  From small or large, they are all affordable and can fit the needs you have.

**What do you dislike about Bloomerang CRM?**

The only issue that I have with Bloomerang is that the reports will only export as excel files, not a pdf version that is ready to use in a moment's notice.

**Recommendations to others considering Bloomerang CRM:**

Consider the number of records you have in your database, the values and identity of what information you want to track and report, and the simplicity of the software.  Unlike some platforms, Bloomerang has easy to follow guides, free instructional sessions, and their webinars are some of the best you can get.

We are solving issues related to tracking LYBUNT donors, solicitor success, donor management, and keeping track of pledges.

**What do you like best about Bloomerang CRM?**

The ease of use. Pretty much anyone of any level of experience can intuitively complete simple tasks in Bloomerang. Even the web, form and email integration was quick to learn and simple for a non-tech expert who can get into the backend of Wordpress. Bloomerang allowed us to hit the ground running within hours of uploading our first list of contacts. Add, update or merge a constituent? Easy as following the form. Same for adding donations, reports, and email marketing.

**What do you dislike about Bloomerang CRM?**

I wish it had more integration with Clover, our credit card processing company. But with the additions we've seen added just in the last thirteen months since we starting using Bloomerang, this is an easy trade-off. New integrations seem to come regularly.

Try it for a month- what do you have to lose?

We've reduced paperwork by an estimated 90%, and allow online donations, event registrations, etc. to do the data input for us. It's amazing!

The price is hands down the best we found. We got the same features of what elite platforms offered for 75% less. Their customer service is out of this world. I can logon a chat and have an answer to most question in less than five minutes. Our marketing representative still follows up with us even after two years as a user. They definitely take care of their customers. They have a dashboard where you can present any ideas of new features you'd like implemented and they will gather the new ideas and see if it's something  they can implement. I have had several of my ideas implemented. You can also see what's coming down the pipeline or what's been rolled out. Their reports feature is amazing and it's so simple to pull almost anything you'd ever want. I can create and download a report in a few minutes. The program itself is extremely user friendly and so easy to learn. They have tons of training modules that you can watch at anytime.

**What do you dislike about Bloomerang CRM?**

Honestly, the only thing I wish they had is a batch feature and the ability to import payments and apply them to pledges. Both of these would save me time, but it's not a deal breaker. The perks far exceed the extra time I spending keying transactions individually

Be sure to follow the import features and make sure your numbers match before hitting the ok button. Once the switch occurs, it's a headache to make changes.

The on-going support with webinars, blogs, and articles come directly to your email and make it easy to learn the things you need to be more efficient and grow.  They are across a wide array of topics and deal with timely issues.  It's great that I get a nudge about what's available without having to take time to search. 

Bloomerang's tech support has never failed me.  They have patiently walked me through setting up the proper queries and filters to slice my data and get to exactly what I want to know.  Even better than the actual chat itself, is that I am sent a transcript of that chat so I can go back later and do it again if necessary.

**What do you dislike about Bloomerang CRM?**

The organization of the letters and reports are done on the company-wide basis.  That's great for not duplicating efforts, but there's no way to categorize them besides alphabetical and chronological.

I would like to be better able to customize the constituent records.  I have added many fields and some of them I'd like to appear higher up on the page.  I'd also like to be able to remove fields we don't use.

The letter writing/word processing section is not very user friendly.  It doesn't format like a word processing program.  You don't even know how much of a page you're using until you download and print a sample.  You can't add headers and footers which would be useful for company letterhead.  It has the basic functions and is definitely frustrating to use.  Good thing you can copy letters to edit rather having to create them from scratch each time.

We love being able to easily access donor history as well how we have interacted with donors all on the same timeline.  We can see at glance correlations between direct mailings and donations.  We can also see how frequently donors participate in events with us.

It is fabulous to be able to see donor trends from year to year and then combine that with direct mailings and other fundraisers to have a clear picture of what is effective and what is not.

We use the filters to create subsets of donors to better target our fundraising efforts.  We have used filters to contact frequent, high-dollar donors as well as to contact those donors who have lapsed.  

Adding automatic address updates from the National Change of Address database has been awesome!! I'm grateful to not have to make those changes manually.

Best - that Bloomerang is user friendly with responsive help and many easy-to-find, easy-to-understand help videos demonstrating everything I need.
Also really liked - the process to try Bloomerang out and have things explained as a new fundraiser and new organization
Did I mention user-friendly? Right away, my volunteer and executive staff were able to use it.
Bonus - I now attend many Bloomerang webinars covering all aspects of fundraising, leadership, and non-profit board management. These are free for anyone and are very helpful.

I didn't like that the way email looked but with the new Mailchimp integration, that problem is solved. I would like for the ability to choose and acknowledge ACH payments.

**Recommendations to others considering Bloomerang CRM:**

I like to learn and research and it takes a while before I settle in on a product as meaningful as this one. Several friends from other non-profits recommended Bloomerang right away. As a new organization, we had a very low budget but were expecting to grow. Therefore, we could only afford a low price at the beginning but needed it to be able to scale with us. From experience, I knew that if it wasn't easy enough to use and learn, then it wouldn't be used; we didn't have time to painstakingly learn. I was actually willing to sacrifice features in place of ease of use. With Bloomerang, I did NOT sacrifice features and it was easier than I hoped. During this first year of use, the new app and Mailchimp integration added even more value.

I chose not to pay for the extra phone help for the first year. I wanted to figure things out using email requests, chat and the help videos. I ended up using the help videos/articles to get things set up. After a few months, we paid for 3 -month telephone help to get a few major things figured out. At that time, I learned more details regarding setting up forms, reports and filtering. Right now, I am learning about how to segment constituents in a much better way (for donor retention).

In general, Bloomerang is very user-friendly. It's easy to navigate and generally easy to find the information I want.

While I don't see any specific downsides, there are a handful of technical updates I'm waiting on. Also, because Bloomerang is so targeted to individual constituents and constituent events, the information displays in ways that can make it difficult to see patterns: for instance, an individual's pattern of newsletter opens; differentiating between Acknowledgements and other interactions; etc.

It's much, much easier to track campaign results. I'm the communications liaison, and Bloomerang has made it much easier to track thank-yous that our previous systems, and get a sense of overall giving patterns.

The user friendly set up is by far the best part of Bloomerang! For a non-profit that has high turnover, Bloomerang is easy to train others on how to use, intuitive to your needs, and gets pretty in-depth for how user friendly it really is.

There are elements of the reports that are more difficult to figure out. In a few instances I've pulled reports that are exactly the same but come up with drastically different results. This isn't too much of problem since my non-profit doesn't have to be exact, but it can cause problems with appeals and thank yous. I this is due to user-error, but it has been a struggle since I've started in my position.

Make sure you utilize the webinars, help videos, and chat. There is a wealth of information that makes the transition into using Bloomerang so much easier!

Bloomerang is super easy to use - reporting, data entry/imports, emails, etc is super intuitive. And if I can't figure something out on my own, the customer services folks are fab.

I don't love their letter templates and I wish the integrated forms were better. We use Give Butter for forms and they integrate well with Bloomerang, so its an easy fix.

It is very easy to get support through the chat function.

**What do you dislike about Bloomerang CRM?**

When developing emails, if you expand the width to expand across the page, the section with the tools covers quite a bit of the page, making it hard to see what you are working on.

**What problems is Bloomerang CRM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Consistent place to enter donor info.  Mailing list for emails and mailings all in one place.
