User-Friendly Improvements Needed, But Effective for Fundraising **Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Steve S. **Reviewed Date:** August 16, 2025 **What do you like best about Bonterra OneCause?** I appreciate that OneCause helped me manage a silent auction, allowing us to exceed our fundraising goals. I found it somewhat useful how the system managed each auction item efficiently for users to bid and control the bidding process. **What do you dislike about Bonterra OneCause?** I find the setup process with OneCause to be quite arduous, especially because of the overwhelming amount of information and tutorials needed, which complicates the experience. The platform is not user-friendly for those with limited time, especially when organizing a one-time event. I had expected a straightforward setup, but navigating through various tutorials and steps was frustrating and time-consuming. There is a steep learning curve which requires more simplicity and less dependency on external step-by-step guidance. **What problems is Bonterra OneCause solving and how is that benefiting you?** I find the product solved my problem of managing a silent auction, helping us exceed fundraising goals for our event. **Official Response from Sarah Sebastian:** > Thank you for sharing your honest feedback. Bid Pal failed us **Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.) **Reviewed Date:** October 20, 2017 **What do you like best about Bonterra OneCause?** It was easy for users to see the silent auction items and to bid on those throughout the night **What do you dislike about Bonterra OneCause?** Bid Pal crashed during out big financial ask and the staff there were not able to get it fixed for 15 mins so no donations went through when we did our 15 minutes of intense giving/our direct ask **What problems is Bonterra OneCause solving and how is that benefiting you?** We used it for our big fundraising gala to encourage more bidding on the items throughout the night **Official Response from Joshua Meyer:** > We’re glad to hear that you found BidPal easy to use but are disappointed to hear that things didn’t go as planned with your appeal. Without knowing your organization and the specifics around your fundraiser, it’s hard to directly respond to the issues you encountered.
