The online auction item donation form feature is an especially efficient tool that saves so much time -for both the staff and the donor. And, we cannot say enough about just how great the OneCause Customer Support Staff is! Our Fall 2020 Online Auction was very successful and we’re looking forward to running our Spring 2021 virtual fundraising program. **What do you dislike about Bonterra OneCause?** As with all platforms, there are a few things we hope will be revised in the near future... It would be helpful if the auction donors could submit the item photos along with the donation form rather then need to email them separately, and if all of the photos could be hosted by the OneCause platform. Setting up the ticket registration page is a little clunky, mainly because that is the credit card processor’s integrated form, we hope that can be improved for future events. It would be great if there was more direct integration for video partnerships for virtual programs on OneCause. Currently, there is no way to put the video program production behind a secure virtual ticketed portal on the OneCause site, if you post your video on our OneCause site, it can be accessed by anyone. **What problems is Bonterra OneCause solving and how is that benefiting you?** We can continue to fundraise virtually to an expanded audience and help fill the budget gaps lost from not being able to run live events. We’ll soon be opening a new OneCause platform event to host a virtual art show - normally this consignment art gallery is sold in-person at our River Farm headquarters in Alexandria, VA. Due to Covid-19 we’ve had our Manor House closed except for private rented events. OneCause will allow us to promote/support the artists who normally showcase their artwork at River Farm to the local community. Immediate chat and telephone support for questions and ideas is quick and response time superior! No question is a stupid question. **What do you dislike about Bonterra OneCause?** I really can't think of any aspect of OneCause that I could say I dislike! **Recommendations to others considering Bonterra OneCause:** As a veteran Event Planner who is experienced in having to prepare and conduct events in a manual way, OneCause has changed everything for me personally in being able to keep up with technology and conduct a successful event without near the level of stress. **What problems is Bonterra OneCause solving and how is that benefiting you?** OneCause helps a very small staff organization like our United Way of McLean County to offer great and successful fundraising and other types of events at an affordable price. **Official Response from Kellen Niespodziany:** > Wow! Absolutely very fun and easy to use on the front and back ends. So much so that I regret this is not my day to day CRM system! I also researched GreaterGiving, GiveSmart, DonorPerfect's ReadySetAuction, and Blackbaud's Maestro. BidPal was a clear winner due to both the superior front end design and robust back end reporting. (Although I suspect GiveSmart is a worthy competitor.) Front end interface was very fun and easy for users, especially the registration. Creating packages, donation levels, sponsor logos, registration and checkout. The scoreboard once I got the hang of it was also very powerful and customizable to track results in real time. I loved using BidPal, and all feedback from supporters was positive too. We can't wait to use it again and to its fullest capabilities. (My checkout would have gone so much more smoothly if I had utilized the solicitor and item status sections.) Thank you for bringing our auction into the 21st century! **What do you dislike about Bonterra OneCause?** We chose BidPal mainly because of the exclusive HTML design capability of custom pages. However, only because our staff was comfortable with HTML programming were we able to use the full capabilities of the custom pages. Even then we were not thrilled with the handmade result and this was time consuming and prohibitive for making more custom pages. A bit more robust design tools would go a long way, since BidPal stands out for this feature. I counted three places to update the auction close times, and this was challenging to keep track of. As it was, my auction inadvertently closed for 8 hours overnight and this was very troubling. Thankfully I was able to restore without help, as it happened after hours. Finally, we were most disappointed with the generic thumbnail images when linking on social media. The OneCause image was more distracting that simply no thumbnail. This seems like an easy fix to insert a thumbnail of the actual page or item being linked. **What problems is Bonterra OneCause solving and how is that benefiting you?** We needed a system for registering event guests/auction bidders that captured payment data up front to smooth check-out process. With BidPal, it was amazing to check everyone out with one click and collect payment immediately! This saved hundreds in uncollected pledges and follow up time. Maybe the single most added value of the platform. Also very thankful that transactions can be processed manually for the life of the event. It has allowed the management and tracking of our fundraising efforts to be incredibly more efficient. Customer support is very helpful in making your events work online. Their online tutorials are also wonderful resources to help you get familiar with the platform. Our auction typically has over 100 auction items and we do a live appeal. We would love a bid to vote feature. We have exceeded the sponsorship goal and are on our way to exceeding the overall goal! I highly recommend OneCause! **What problems is Bonterra OneCause solving and how is that benefiting you?** This will be our 12th Holiday Luncheon with Friends and the pandemic created an opportunity for us to re-think the presentation. With OneCause's help, we are preparing the website for our silent auction and program on the day of the event. Other than the normal hiccups of learning a new program, we have swiftly moved from a face-to-face special event to an online venue. We anticipate that we will see a huge increase in participation -- normal attendance is around 210-240 but all indicators point to a range of 600-800 this year. With increased participation, comes increased fundraising. Second, I was actually able to somewhat enjoy the event, myself, rather than being 100% wrapped up in the business aspect of it this year, which was amazing. A Blessing in disguise! **Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Tanya B. | Executive Recruiter, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.) **Reviewed Date:** December 02, 2019 **What do you like best about Bonterra OneCause?** There were a number of things I liked most about Onecause........(1) It's a complete, comprehensive "one-stop shopping" platform to handle ALL your fundraising needs......from inception to implementation (and beyond); (2) the software provides such an outfit of components that meet your every need, and (3) the staff is beyond helpful. They go over and beyond to ensure your experience with Onecause is positive and that your event is a success. **What do you dislike about Bonterra OneCause?** There wasn't anything I (we) didn't like about Onecause; however, the only area I wish were different was in the auction setup. I was hoping to have the capability of including more than one photo for certain items (e.g. international vacation resorts, bed & breakfast locations, etc.). **Recommendations to others considering Bonterra OneCause:** When reviewing Onecause for possible use, DO NOT be intimidated by its large platform of available services. The online staff are great advocates of the program and are solely committed to your organization have a successful event. They truly will become your partners in this effort. It is definitely worth the investment and the time learning how to navigate the system. **What problems is Bonterra OneCause solving and how is that benefiting you?** One of the problems Onecause helped us solve was data tracking for our fundraising needs. The software provided such comprehensive data for literally EVERY area of our fundraiser. We certainly would have had to create this on our own. This is a benefit to us because we can use this information, directly from the system, to report to our Board of Directors, Advisory Board and other stakeholders. This truly was a blessing. ### 48.
