What do you like best?

We loved how easy it was to get auction items up and the ability to avoid having to print bid sheets and manually write bid increments and such. This saved us so much time from a big physical event, and we will probably still use it when physical events are allowed to manage our silent auction. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

It is not the most user friendly platform on the backend, although it looks great to the public. The Giving Center was hard to build out nicely. It would be great for there to be templates to choose from to make it look like a slick, modern home page rather than Plain HTML or a graphic we pasted in place of the whole page. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

OneCause is more expensive than similar services we used before, but we found it visually appealing for the participants of our virtual event and seamless for managing our auction and accepting payments. Recommend! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We are solving the problem of wasted time from having a physical auction and it is helping us pivot gracefully to virtual events.

The benefits are huge in terms of the reporting, the bidding, ability to text participants, and the time saved. Although we made less money than a physical event, it cost a lot less too. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

I highly recommend OneCause! Their online fundraising platform is thorough, easy to use on the backend, and also easy for your donors/event participants to use. We utilized it for the first time this year for our annual Gala, which we had to transition from a large in-person event to a virtual event. The virtual auctions we were able to put together looked great, and people who were hesitant at first to participate in a virtual event found that it was easy for them to bid and donate. Our checkout process was SO simple this year because everything was already in the system - a huge timesaver! The other element we loved was having a OneCause virtual event manager assigned to us for 8 hours on Gala night - a REAL person, not just a support number! Ours was incredible and helped make our event run seamlessly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

The only thing we didn't like was the way that the social media sharing buttons functioned within the auction. When you click to share an individual auction item via FB, Twitter or Pinterest, a generic OneCause image is shared with your link rather than a specific image of the auction item. If OneCause could improve this feature, I think we would use it a lot next year. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Talk to a representative and ask them all the questions you can think of that would apply to your fundraising needs. They want to help you! Our experience has been wonderful and we could not be happier that we decided to go with OneCause. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

With the limitations of in-person gathering in 2020, we needed a way to continue fundraising for our museum effectively and creatively. Having the OneCause platform enabled us to engage our regular Gala audience in a fun, new way - plus it allowed us to reach people all over the country! Being able to add in new donors by the very nature of everything being online was a huge bonus for us. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

The OneCause team is incredibly attentive and helpful. They schedule the next meeting while on with you to ensure your events are well prepared for. They offer tons of resources to ensure you have the best ideas. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

The user-system is a little confusing. It is not my favorite backend system, but it works. I can get the information I need but not always without jumping through hoops or looking back to notes to see where I previously found it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

I would suggest trying it. They will try to suck you into a long term contract, which is fine if you know you like the platform, but I would suggest ensuring it works for your needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Having one site to have my guests register, donate, and place auction bids is truly beneficial. The ease of pulling reports to gather all my supporter information is very nice as well. It has made our event clean up much easier. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

The most impressive thing about OneCause is their customer support. Being new to virtual fundraising, our first fundraiser in May required may calls with many questions. The OneCause team was always pleasant and professional. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

My only hope for improvement is in the BidPal Software. It needs a "cart". This would allow donors/visitors/attendees, to purchase raffle tickets and other items and then check out after all selections are made. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Our prior in person events, checking people out at the end of the night for their silent auction wins was painstaking and manual. BidPal will allow us to be more streamline in the future when we return to in person events. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

Switching from paper bidding to electronic bidding was a HUGE improvement. We were worried that our guests/attendees would be intimidated by the switch, but everyone was very open to the change and had no issues using the software. It helped our organization on the back end by providing helpful reports and made recording the donations in our CRM system a breeze with all the excel exports available. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

The only thing I disliked would be certain restrictions that you couldn't bypass. For example, the texts that we wanted to send could only be so many characters which at times made it difficult to get our point across in one text. My supervisor also did not like that there was no option to leave the value off of the item and that you had to put a number or "priceless". Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Importing donations into our CRM, smoother operations during the event. Saves a ton of time and headaches. Also not having to follow up with as many donors who wrote down incorrect phone numbers, rejected CC transactions, etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

We are pleased with how easy/intuitive the OneCause platform is to operate and customize for our events and for our supporters to navigate. The online auction item donation form feature is an especially efficient tool that saves so much time -for both the staff and the donor. And, we cannot say enough about just how great the OneCause Customer Support Staff is! Our Fall 2020 Online Auction was very successful and we’re looking forward to running our Spring 2021 virtual fundraising program. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

As with all platforms, there are a few things we hope will be revised in the near future... It would be helpful if the auction donors could submit the item photos along with the donation form rather then need to email them separately, and if all of the photos could be hosted by the OneCause platform. Setting up the ticket registration page is a little clunky, mainly because that is the credit card processor’s integrated form, we hope that can be improved for future events. It would be great if there was more direct integration for video partnerships for virtual programs on OneCause. Currently, there is no way to put the video program production behind a secure virtual ticketed portal on the OneCause site, if you post your video on our OneCause site, it can be accessed by anyone. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We can continue to fundraise virtually to an expanded audience and help fill the budget gaps lost from not being able to run live events. We’ll soon be opening a new OneCause platform event to host a virtual art show - normally this consignment art gallery is sold in-person at our River Farm headquarters in Alexandria, VA. Due to Covid-19 we’ve had our Manor House closed except for private rented events. OneCause will allow us to promote/support the artists who normally showcase their artwork at River Farm to the local community. This virtual show will open the artists and their work to a wider national audience, and in-turn help raise funds for the artists and a percentage of much needed art sales funds for the American Horticultural Society. What do you like best?

In addition to our live Power of the Purse event each year, I have been able to utilize the system for coordinating reservations for virtual gatherings, mini virtual auctions, raffles, etc. Very flexible especially during this time of everyone working remotely and maintaining safe distancing. Immediate chat and telephone support for questions and ideas is quick and response time superior! No question is a stupid question. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I really can't think of any aspect of OneCause that I could say I dislike! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

Using BidPal for the first time, on our first online auction, was a great experience. Absolutely very fun and easy to use on the front and back ends. So much so that I regret this is not my day to day CRM system! I also researched GreaterGiving, GiveSmart, DonorPerfect's ReadySetAuction, and Blackbaud's Maestro. BidPal was a clear winner due to both the superior front end design and robust back end reporting. (Although I suspect GiveSmart is a worthy competitor.)

Front end interface was very fun and easy for users, especially the registration. Creating packages, donation levels, sponsor logos, registration and checkout. The scoreboard once I got the hang of it was also very powerful and customizable to track results in real time.

I loved using BidPal, and all feedback from supporters was positive too. We can't wait to use it again and to its fullest capabilities. (My checkout would have gone so much more smoothly if I had utilized the solicitor and item status sections.) Thank you for bringing our auction into the 21st century! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

We chose BidPal mainly because of the exclusive HTML design capability of custom pages. However, only because our staff was comfortable with HTML programming were we able to use the full capabilities of the custom pages. Even then we were not thrilled with the handmade result and this was time consuming and prohibitive for making more custom pages. A bit more robust design tools would go a long way, since BidPal stands out for this feature.

I counted three places to update the auction close times, and this was challenging to keep track of. As it was, my auction inadvertently closed for 8 hours overnight and this was very troubling. Thankfully I was able to restore without help, as it happened after hours.

Finally, we were most disappointed with the generic thumbnail images when linking on social media. The OneCause image was more distracting that simply no thumbnail. This seems like an easy fix to insert a thumbnail of the actual page or item being linked. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We needed a system for registering event guests/auction bidders that captured payment data up front to smooth check-out process. With BidPal, it was amazing to check everyone out with one click and collect payment immediately! This saved hundreds in uncollected pledges and follow up time. Maybe the single most added value of the platform. Also very thankful that transactions can be processed manually for the life of the event. Even less tracking people down to fulfill pledges. Having access to friendly and knowledgeable staff was huge! Made the set up for our event and day-of coordination so easy. The platform is easy to navigate. The resources for each page were concise and step-by-step. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

Using OneCause of course cuts into some our fundraising profit by paying for the platform and services, but honestly it's still worth it! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Using OneCause solved several problems for our office and school. I now have the ability to run reports and do clerical tasks related to fundraising with just a few clicks. It has allowed the management and tracking of our fundraising efforts to be incredibly more efficient. We were using Excel and other pieced together methods to run fundraising events and giving campaigns. Now, it's all housed in our OneCause account, and I'm not tracking down bits and pieces of information from everywhere. Using OneCause also allowed for better coordination between the Advancement Office and our Business Office. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The inability to click and expand a photo for a auction item. I also did not like that I could only use one photo per package and could not upload a video, but had to share the link to a video that was hosted on another platform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Integration across devices, ease of support, resources, checklists. OneCause is an incredible software tool for nonprofits. With the ease of use and the knowledge provided by the team, our events break goals year over year. Our audience has given us great feedback and we really enjoy working with them. Our auction typically has over 100 auction items and we do a live appeal. This will be our 12th Holiday Luncheon with Friends and the pandemic created an opportunity for us to re-think the presentation. With OneCause's help, we are preparing the website for our silent auction and program on the day of the event. Other than the normal hiccups of learning a new program, we have swiftly moved from a face-to-face special event to an online venue. We anticipate that we will see a huge increase in participation -- normal attendance is around 210-240 but all indicators point to a range of 600-800 this year. With increased participation, comes increased fundraising. In these unprecedented days, it is critical that we meet the event's goal, and exceeding it will be even better! What do you like best?

OneCause is hands down the best fundraising software our non-profit has ever utilized, with not only competitive pricing but exceptional features and customer service. Our organization navigated both the peer-to-peer fundraising software and the mobile bidding software with ease, referencing the helpful resource centers and occasionally calling the help line through our planning phase. Both our peer-to-peer website and our various mobile bidding auctions were thoroughly complimented by guests for their aesthetics and ease of use. We highly recommend using OneCause and are elated with our experiences with them this year. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

OneCause has phenomenal features, and we were never left disappointed with the value of those features. Our only "wish list" feature would simply be the ability to categorize fixed price packages in the mobile bidding software, instead of only being able to categorize the silent auction packages. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

If you are looking for a mobile bidding software with excellent aesthetics and ease of use (for both the back end admin users and guests) then OneCause is competitive with all other companies that we demoed with. Their peer-to-peer fundraising platform is also a breeze to set up and the site tracks fundraisers performances effortlessly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Our non-profit Zoo was closed to the public for almost 3 months, due to the pandemic. During that time we raised critical funds through OneCause's mobile bidding software. The customer service from the individuals we worked with at One Cause was one of the best parts. The software itself was also extremely functional and was more user friendly than our previous software from another company. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Not being able to upload more than one photo or easily post links without needing HTML. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

What do you like best?

OneCause allows you fundraise in multiple ways through a single event, utilizing auctions, one time donations, raffles and more, while helping you communicate with your supporters through text, email and direct mail. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

On the user end is very much geared to mobile users, and could use more in the way of support for those on desktop or laptop computers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Be sure to plan enough time to familiarize yourself and learn all the ins and the outs of the system. It is very user friendly and you can put together a basic event fairly quickly, but to get the most out of what it offers will take some time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

OneCause helped us convert our Annual (in-person) Dinner and Auction to a virtual auction in a matter of weeks. While we weren't able to take full advantage of all the benefits of the site in the short amount of time, the ease of the site allowed us to setup a great auction for our supporters that brought in nearly as much as we had originally budgeted with the in-person event. We plan to use the site at our annual event going forward, allowing us to engage not only with those in the room but with supporters around the country. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

The One Cause smart card payment cube only works with IPhones. Must purchase an adapter for other phone brands. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

I'm been incredibly pleased with the One Cause platform, support, and price. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We use One Cause for all our school's major fundraising needs such as selling tuition raffle tickets, Gala tickets, hosting fund the needs, silent auctions, and tailgating spots. One Cause is an easy record keeping system and made the organization of our mega-events so simple through multiple reports and stats capabilities. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
