I love the transparency it gives me in my commissions, how much is paid out and why. What affected the paycheck from prior cancellations, etc. Super easy for an end user and the clarity can't be beat!

Captivate IQ can be a little complex to set up. Maybe it was just my org but it seemed to take 6+ months to get set up and rolled out, and even now many people don't use it effectively.

I haven’t had anything bad or negative to say about the application itself. I’m sure there’s always development and improvement in the works, but it’s been a great app to use.

I think I liked that Captivate IQ is  so easy to use and flexibility, particularly the intuitive, spreadsheet-like SmartGrid engine that allows the team to model and manage complex commission plans without needing code or consultants. This increased transparency and automation significantly reduces manual errors and provides me being the sales person with real-time visibility with my earnings and performance.

It takes a bit of time to get comfortable with the platform, I needed a training session just to understand the reporting, configuration and also the slow load times, but it is worth it at the end.

I like that the product removes a lot of friction and the product team is always improving the base product while generating new tools to add value. It's easy to customize and runs commission very quickly. The initial setup was very easy, which I find beneficial.

The UI isn't consistent across all parts of the platform. There is not always information available about new releases and updates.

So far, I haven’t run into any problems or found anything I dislike about the platform. At the moment, I don’t have any complaints. It’s been a very useful tool for tracking my commissions.

Getting a detailed and clear analysis of the commissions earned in a specific period had never been possible for me. Captivate IQ made it possible.

**What do you like best about CaptivateIQ?**

#.The direct Data Connectors like Salesforce/Snowflake are very helpful.
#. The newly introduced Transformaton Workbooks are really helpful for performing the transformations, initially we used do these things in Data workbook sections.
#. The Option of Payroll Group in Payout Section saves a lot of time by selecting all the reps in a single click, though we have filters options in this sections.
#. Also, I like the feature of Exports where we can have the template of required plan and saved in that section, and we can pull the data easily by just selecting the payout date of respective month.
#. Publish workflow section is something which I am using the most and it really helps to send the statements in single go connecting to the required hierarchy. This saves a lot of time when sending the payouts the leaders/managers for review.
#. Smart Hierarchy option is just awesome.

**What do you dislike about CaptivateIQ?**

The are couple things which I believe can be Improved in CIQ.
#. Filter Option in the Employee Assumptions (this would help put the filter on particular rep in more than 2000 reps).
#. If we mistakenly process the payouts for the month, we don't have the option to cancel it in the bulk. However, we need do cancel the payouts individually for single reps again and again.
#. In the Statement Design section, we can't link the data from Data workbooks sections, only Employee assumptions and Payout summary section data can be linked.
#. In the Inquiry section, we need to more types like in progress/Need a Approval etc.
#. We can't pull the data from payout section until and unless we process the plans. there should be someways where we can pull this data without reprocessing the plan.
#. We can't edit the Filter applied; we need to close it and put it again for new filter on the same column
#. Going to the Inquiry section directly from the payout section.

It is Solving few Critical problems like below:
1. Automation: We are avoiding the manual calcs in spreadsheet rather we can build the plan and run it in a single click for more than 1000 reps. It saves a lot of time and efforts.
2. Scheduled Data Syncing: We can set the time, and it runs automatically.
3. Payroll Grouping: We can Select the reps in Bulk
4. Smart Hierarchy: We can do the changes in Level 1 and it reflects until level 5 which is just awesome

CaptivateIQ stands out for its logic-based approach to commission modelling. Unlike legacy systems that feel like rigid "black boxes," this platform offers a familiar, spreadsheet-like interface that makes it much easier to transition from manual tracking. The ability to automate complex calculations while maintaining high transparency for our sales reps has significantly reduced the number of "shadow accounting" disputes we deal with each month.

**What do you dislike about CaptivateIQ?**

While the platform is incredibly powerful, the learning curve can be a bit steep during the initial setup of complex plans. If your data isn't perfectly clean coming out of your CRM, it takes some trial and error to get the logic mapped correctly. I'd love to see more "out-of-the-box" templates for standard SaaS accelerators to speed up the building process.

We are primarily using CaptivateIQ to solve the manual bottleneck of monthly commission payouts.

Efficiency: We’ve cut our processing time by roughly 30-40%.

Accuracy: It eliminates the human error inherent in Excel-based workflows.

Rep Trust: The personalised dashboards give our team real-time visibility into their earnings, which keeps morale high and minimizes administrative back-and-forth.

I love using CaptivateIQ for its seamless setup and the ease with which I managed to initialize my account and onboard my team members. The straightforward process for setting revenue targets and defining contributions is impressive. The analytics offered are very intuitive and effectively serve our needs in performance measurement and sales compensation estimation. The user interface is remarkably intuitive, making the tool easily understandable and accessible even for a first-time user, which my team appreciates.

I find the integration with Salesforce could be slightly better. We experienced some difficulties setting it up, and the documentation in that area could definitely be improved.

What I like best about CaptivateIQ is how intuitive and easy it is to learn, especially for teams that already work heavily in spreadsheets. The platform’s spreadsheet-like interface makes it very approachable, allowing users to quickly understand how calculations are structured and how formulas are built. Because of this familiarity, new users can ramp up faster and start contributing to compensation plan design, modeling, and troubleshooting without needing extensive technical training. This ease of use significantly reduces the learning curve and enables sales compensation teams to operate more efficiently when building and maintaining complex commission calculations.

**What do you dislike about CaptivateIQ?**

One downside of CaptivateIQ is that its high level of flexibility can sometimes work against teams if strong structure and governance are not in place. Because the platform allows users to design calculations and plan logic in many different ways, there can be inconsistencies in how models are built across users or teams. Compared to some competing tools that enforce more standardized frameworks for compensation plan configuration, CaptivateIQ requires more internal discipline, documentation, and best-practice alignment to maintain scalability and auditability. That said, this is ultimately a relatively minor trade-off given that the same flexibility is also one of the platform’s greatest strengths, enabling teams to handle complex and evolving compensation needs.

While it is valuable that CaptivateIQ provides detailed tracking of system and model changes, it can sometimes be difficult to efficiently filter, search, and extract the specific information needed for compliance or audit requirements. CaptivateIQ helps solve many of the operational challenges associated with administering and scaling sales compensation programs. From an administrative perspective, the platform is very user-friendly and enables our team to streamline key processes such as monthly commission close and payout processing, as well as ongoing employee lifecycle events like new hires, role transfers, and terminations. Having a centralized system to manage these activities improves accuracy, reduces manual work, and increases overall operational efficiency.

In addition, CaptivateIQ’s ability to integrate with other business systems further enhances its value. For example, integrations with tools such as DocuSign make it much easier to generate and distribute compensation plan documents in a structured and trackable way. This connected ecosystem helps ensure smoother workflows across Sales, Finance, and HR teams, ultimately allowing us to manage compensation programs more effectively at scale.

There’s nothing huge that bothers me, but sometimes it feels like certain features could be more customizable — especially if your comp plans are a bit complex. Also, it took a little while to learn all the ins and outs, but that’s probably normal for most tools like this.

CaptivateIQ can accommodate very complex commission plans and unique reporting requirements. Their support team is very responsive and polite. The product team is on top of solving important problems for their customers with a well-outlined release roadmap.

The only downside to the system is the limited functionality of the employee assumptions within their commission plans. I know the team is aware of this problem and is working on a solution. In addition, some of their visualizations are not as flexible as I'd like them to be.

I also like that logging in via SSO is very easy so I don't need to worry about a lengthy process to get into my account.

Overall, I've had a positive experience with the tool and cannot think of anything specific that I do not like. If I had to be nitpicky, I would like to see maybe a mobile app for something on the go if there isn't one that already exists.

We used CaptivateIQ for about six months in my previous organisation to streamline and automate our commission process, and it was honestly a game-changer. Before this, we were handling everything on spreadsheets, and as our team scaled, it just got messier — constant back-and-forths, version control issues, reps not trusting the numbers, etc.

What I really liked about CaptivateIQ is the flexibility. Unlike some rigid comp tools I’d used in the past, this one actually lets you design and tweak plans based on your company’s specific structure. We had a few different sales teams with slightly different incentives, and Captivate made it way easier to accommodate that without needing to rebuild the whole thing every time.

Also, huge plus: transparency for reps. They can log in and see their earnings breakdown in real-time. That’s saved our RevOps team so many hours of answering the same questions every month.

**What do you dislike about CaptivateIQ?**

The initial onboarding/setup process took longer than we expected. It’s powerful but not exactly plug-and-play — especially if your comp plans are complex. Reporting could be more customizable for non-admin users — managers sometimes want a specific view, and we end up pulling manual exports.

Super clean and concise reporting. I love the email that tells me how much I should be expected for my upcoming commission paycheck. Its rewarding to see the result of my work from the last month and I really appreciate that if I do not want to, I do not have to go to CapitvateIQ in order to do so. If I want to, Capitivate IQ gives me a detailed list of where/why I received the money that I will be receiving and makes it easy to analyze. Capitivate IQ solves the question of where my comission check is coming from, what deals contributed to it. It is nice to have that breakdown without having to ask my manager.

**What do you like best about CaptivateIQ?**

The platform is very easy to use. I do use the platform only about once a month when I am approving commission statements, but I never have an issue with the system. I especially like the graphics that it provides.

**What do you dislike about CaptivateIQ?**

Nothing especially comes to mind. I will once again admit that I only use the platform about once a month but whenever I use the platform it is a quick and easy experience!

I like how CaptivateIQ gives me updates at any time of how I am trending each month! It is helpful if I did ever want to go in and see where my monthly compensation stands.

I use CaptivateIQ for accessing my variable compensation. I appreciate having a single source of truth to access statements. I like the inquiries tab, which makes filing tickets simple.

**What do you dislike about CaptivateIQ?**

Load/wait times can be frustrating. Loading statements can take up to a minute, which feels like a long time.
