**What do you like best about Varicent?**

Processing times have been decreased. More tasks have been automated or have increased efficiency.

**What do you dislike about Varicent?**

Standard formatting in the workflow generated email is non existent. No links or any formatting at all can be done. Copy/Paste is not something I have figured out how to do yet from Reports or System Tables. Currently I am not able to do it, but the functionality has to be there.

**What problems is Varicent solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Automating more manual tasks. Decreasing calculation run times. More calculations are being done systematically. Creating a better user experience with Dashboards for Sellers.

**What do you like best about Varicent?**

Varicent has made designing complex compensation plans very easy. Using its different modules we were able to implement Approval process, Incentive summaries, automating new Payee onboarding and scheduling different jobs very easily and smoothly.

**What do you dislike about Varicent?**

I have been using varicent from last 5 years and till date finding a major downside of the tool is really difficult. However, if I would be nitpicking I will say that we can make Logs more comprehensive.

**What problems is Varicent solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Prior to using Varicent, we were handling incentive payouts for around 4000 payees manually. Tasks like payouts, approval process, incentive summaries and then Reporting, almost all were done on different tools which was tiresome and difficult to manage. After we started using Varicent, we can now look after all these tasks from a single tool which saves us abundance of time and energy for other stuff.

**What do you like best about Varicent?**

My favorite thing about Varicent is how easy the design was. We just went through a full system rewrite and upgrade and being able to simplify tables and calculations on the back end was very helpful. I also like how customizable the reports are or can be. I use Varicent on a daily basis and support a network of 3000+ staffing recruiters.

**What do you dislike about Varicent?**

We have had issues with users making changes while a calculation is running, which results in an error of some sort. Varicent has also introduced product updates without warning that negatively impact our system and we did not have time to prepare for that impact.

**What problems is Varicent solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Varicent takes care of our complicated comp plan calculations and we are able to display these calculations in the bonus statements for employees.

The ability for the software to work with our data as well as the availability of companies readily available to help tailor the Varicent solution to fit the needs of our business.

It would be nice for there to be a holistic approach of having consultants from Varicent who work with you to tailor the solution. We partner with a different company to tailor the Varicent solution to fit our needs.

The system calculates the commissions for our sales folks. It benefits us because it is flexibile enough to fit our business model and an external company can create a system much more easily than an in house IT could.

I am really impressed by software flexibility. it allows to use it not only for the envisioned  compensation and sales performance needs but other business processes and calculations!  Unlike its competitors it does not "lock you" into predefined format or process'.
I also love the constant striving for developing new and advanced features.

**What do you dislike about Varicent?**

Caclulations can run in either real time or batch, but not both. This is not the way our compensation process works. Also, Varicent could use a boost in its offline and real time performance

At this point it's not sales but broad- band compensation where we use Varicent. It is the only software that can meet our requirements with configuration rather than custom build.

The variety of sessions that were offered by varicent to keep the people at the conference engaged. The product roadmap to integrate AI is also very exciting.

Continuous improvement to the product. To name few major enhancements to symon.AI, Plan documents, Works flow and Experience builder with low code. Also, it’s became one shop for all the sales and incentive commission managements needs

There are few still areas for process improvement  in regarding the Role permissions, Portal Access Rules deletion. Restarting of workflow should not clear of pending inquires

Honestly, it's the people at Varicent that make the use of this platform worthwhile. We have an amazing client support manager who has supported us through challenging times as we have transitioned to using Varicent.

Implementation was extremely difficult and challenging. But we have come out of it for the better.

User-friendly tool with an easy-to-understand model. New features like presenter adaptive and discovery dashboard have been the cherry on the cake. however, they are still in their early stages.

**What do you dislike about Varicent?**

1. Scheduler items are a bit clumsy. All things should be collapsed at first. Multiple selections should be available so the user can move/delete all at once.
2. In View History, changes done at that time should be highlighted for easy understanding.
3. In calculation restrictions, text string manipulation operators should be available e.g., like/contains etc.
4. Following are the points on Presenter Adaptive Report:
-Stored Value created does not appear in sorted order of their name
-tile dimension should be adjustable
-Font size options are very limited. More should be present for greater flexibility
-Chart titles allignment option should be available
-Flexibility to select font type and size in Charts. Currently, no such options present.
-Page break view should be available so that designing become easy.
-Custom column width option should be available in a Table. (Options to select different column width for different columns)
-Generating PDF with Conditional formatting for around 3 pages is showing error.
-Options to repeat header on all pages in PDF is not their.
-Conditional operator should be available in restriction part like : If() etc
-Folder structure should be available for Stored value

Sales commission operations are fully automated in Varicent, which is very helpful for our daily business work. Reports related to sales performance etc. have also been in Varicent for the management review.

**What do you like best about Varicent?**

Varicent is a complete tool from sales planning to incentive payments. I love the customer service and the fact that the company treats everyone like they are all long-time customers, no matter how long they have used the system.

**What do you dislike about Varicent?**

We don't have a downside of using Varicent, however there are some limitations that keep us from using the system as complete as we'd like. If they could somehow get a modeling tool that would allow us to model changes to comp plans or do impact analysis for new plan designs, it would allow us to reduce the number of systems we have to work in and we can have a one-stop shop in Varicent.

Without Varicent we would have to calculate all of our plans manually, which is not feasible given the number of payees that we have.

The Incentives suite of tools is comprehensive and flexible enough to allow the design of any compensation plan.  The ability to pull reliable and consistent compensation data from the system allows our team to thrive at audit time. Also, the people at Varicent are the best! From our client sucess manager to product technical support team, everyone we are in contact with is attentive and responsive.

As there is much to enjoy about the tool, I would like more performance power dedicated to performing computationally expensive calculations and data manipulations.

**What do you like best about Varicent?**

Varicent is a very intuitive software program. I am able to administer the program with minimal IT experience and minimal coding (SQL is helpful for automating imports, but basic SQL ability gets you quite far). It's highly customizable and the customer support is excellent. Varicent's commitment to additional development is impressive - the changes to the product are almost always welcomed and the product has been significantly upgraded in the two years we've had it. They have put significant resources into developing training materials, mostly available online. Since it is highly customizable, a Varicent consultant group (of which there are many) is a good investment for implementation.

**What do you dislike about Varicent?**

Support tickets can take some time to get resolution if they are not emergencies (if a system is down, Varicent's response is immediate).

**What problems is Varicent solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were using spreadsheets to calculate commissions for over 1,000 sellers across about 200 territories before implementing Varicent. We are able to give the sellers real time access to their numbers and are able to get holistic reporting across all our regions much more easily. We are not yet using Varicent to its full potential, so look forward to solving many additional problems.

The Varicent administration software is 100% configurable in supporting the necessary and complicated business commissionable rules to generate the required output.

Varicent has committed to growing the product and implementing new tools. Not much to dislike as enhancements fixes are applied regularly.

**What do you like best about Varicent?**

As I have written in the title this is a flexible tool; there is no incentive task we could have not implemented so far. The reaction time is fast enough and really user friendly regarding reports and dashboards. The best thing is there is no IT knowledge is needed by the colleagues who have basically business background. All in all our internal customers, the sales representatives love it because they can keep track of their performance and expected payment on a nice surface by daily update. Also good point, there is an effective support and success team by Varicent, the problems can be fixed very fast. The result of last user satisfaction survey is 76,5% of payees like very much the system.

**What do you dislike about Varicent?**

I think that is not the cheapest tool on the market but from a mid-size company the value/price ratio is right. The basic solution covers common capacity with other companies on the cloud so in peak time the calculation time is slowlier. It is recommended to vote for aws cloud solution.

**Recommendations to others considering Varicent:**

Varicent can be a good choice to have an easy-to-use and robust system managing sales channels by compensation and incentives. It really helps to motivate the colleagues on the fronts. It is worth to ask a pilot model with sample data to see how it works in real operation.

**What problems is Varicent solving and how is that benefiting you?**

That was very difficult to track and analyse the commission logic in the legacy system, and has a slow time-to-market in case of any new incentive. The old system could not provide daily feedback for users. 
Thanks to the new system the internal customer satisfaction increased significantly, the sales agents can focus on their customers knowing the up-to-date status of their performance.

Varicent is a very powerful sales incentive tool with a lot of flexiblity and robust customer support that is committed to customer success. I like that the product team makes regular improvements that improve existing functionality and expand the scope of what is possible in the platform.

The end-user experience for our implementation has been overwhelmingly positive.

**What do you dislike about Varicent?**

Our organization requires a lof of flexibilty in compensation plans and we expect to spend a substantial amout of resources maintaining and updating Varicent to keep it up to date, both consultant/development spend and internal personnel hours.

Although Varicent can me maintaned by a finance or compensation team, some data or programming background will go a long way here.

WE use varicent to calculate bonus pools and to provide a secure platform for payees to review the calculation and allocate their bonus pools.

Varicent is constantly shaping to improve its platform, and looking for ways to take customer feedback to positively upgrade their system.

Varicent can be difficult to fix if not built properly, implementation and testing is extremely important to the end client.

We are looking to build our entire compensation system within Varicent in hopes of streamlining our processes and reduce overhead costs.

**What do you like best about Varicent?**

Highly configurable UI that is rapidly improving outpacing everyone else in the market. If you need flexibility and have unique needs or a proprietary compensation strategy that makes you different this is the tool that can handle your nuances.

**What do you dislike about Varicent?**

Like most SaaS companies the availability of training isn't a standout offering. The market for associates with experience using the tool is smaller. It takes a little time to build in house capabilities but it can be done. I personally feel that training should be a standard feature of purchasing these solutions but you're likely in a similar boat with anyone else.

**What problems is Varicent solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have many teams manually processing commissions on various plans. By adapting the tool we should be able to gain auditing, effentcy and tracking as well as being able to change plans quickly to adjust to our changing markets

Varicent is a tool that is easy and flexible in use. You can easily program it to your needs without programming expertise required. There is little that cannot be done. Varicent is regularly enhancing its functionalities through innovation and new product offerings, to bring your Sales Compensation to the next level. The support team is always standby and ready to be of support when you require it, very accessible and approachable to help you achieve success.

**What do you dislike about Varicent?**

There are some practicalities and functionalities where things can be improved. The good news is that these are on the planning to be adressed in near future. As a customer you can provide your wishlist of enhancements.

**What do you like best about Varicent?**

The flexibility of the system for our needs to both track incentive payments and create reports on the incentive payments. This allows us to better analyze our incentive compensation expenses. The Presenter Adaptive reports are bringing better reporting the end users in our system including Progress to Goal and Incentive Payout reports.

**What do you dislike about Varicent?**

The limitations of the current workflow features in the ICM System. The addition of the plan documents feature is nice, however it will not work for our current plan document acknowledgment needs. We have specific plan documents that need to be reviewed for over 30 incentive plans.

**Recommendations to others considering Varicent:**

Great company with responsive and supportive team members!

**What problems is Varicent solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tracking incentive payments and the approvals for those payments all in one system. Creating meaningful reports to analyze the incentive spend of our company. The ability to roll out additional reports for payees and managers in the web portal to make the incentive payment process more transparent. Creating frameworks for our Retail and Commercial incentive plans and incentive payments. Tracking negative impacts and clawbacks for regulatory requirements.

Views are easy to create, tables may be used for various validations, tree structure gives the associate step by step view of calculation.

**What do you dislike about Varicent?**

Complex calculations could result in numerous steps and could be quite cumbersome to track issues.  This depends on the build and could be mitigated using experienced associates who understand underlying plans and business goals.

Replacing legacy systems.  Better visability of plans, calculations, results.  Easier to make foundational table changes.

Varicent takes the needs and concerns of its clients seriously, and goes to great lengths to not only produce a model that works for a customer, but also understand the methodology behind their calculations and practices. Varicent support is prompt, and its support persons provide regular updates along the way towards a fix.

**What do you dislike about Varicent?**

One downside about Varicent is that the report feature for larger volume data is a bit lacking and could definitely use some improvement. While the business world may be trying to move away from spreadsheets, the compilation of several LOB is still critical.

Varicent is helping to manage the volume of sales compensation calculations. It is also aiding in providing a more transparent platform for which payees can view their commission figures.

The titles that display different aspects of commission and the breakdowns of what all is shown, are nicely outlined in a tabular, very easy to understand, detailed view!

Nothing at this time; I think the product nicely outlines what I need to see in near real-time, understanding that there is a delay in updating to get the most accurate performance metrics.

Ease of use once everything is set up.  Flexible in building out any type of comp plan.

Endless amounts of tables and calculations.  Hard for me to find what is causing an issue if there is one.  Building reports from ground up is challenging.

**What problems is Varicent solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It provides insight to the Sales Team on how they are compensated.  It builds their confidence that they are paid correctly and can view all of the details on their opportunities that they have received credit on.  It benefits me as it provides the Sales Team a one stop shop to find their commission details vs me having to provide it to them via spreadsheets and reports.

I’m big on how Varicent has this killer sales performance thing. I can mess around with sales pay plans all I want. Plus, the smart number-crunching stuff gives me the lowdown on sales data, which helps heaps. And, hooking it up with other systems is no sweat.

**What do you dislike about Varicent?**

A limiting factor of Varicent is that sometimes the analytics can be slow, especially with large data sets. This can be frustrating when trying to retrieve data quickly. Also, while its reporting is thorough, sometimes too much data is packed into them, making it hard to focus on what's most important.

**What problems is Varicent solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Varicent’s a champ at dealing with sales pay plans. It’s got tools for cooking up all sorts of pay deals to keep the sales gang pumped. Plus, being able to link up with other systems is ace for sharing data and making things run like clockwork.

Customer orientation is excellent. The amount of willingness to satisfy the customer doesn't go unnoticed. Our support reps do a great job ensuring our concerns are addressed and find the support we need to make our experience as frictionless as possible.

As a full-stack developer, I would like more control of the model at the admin level. 
- Copy / paste tables can only have a suffix, should be more options to create tables
- Symon ELT documentation is limited and needs a more extensive community sharing

Current commission software can not handle the explosive growth of the bank, so we decided to go off-shelf/ SaaS vs. in-house.

Varicent's forecasting functionality is outstanding. It's quite beneficial for forecasting sales patterns, allowing for resource allocation where it's most necessary, and ensuring that sales goals are achieved more effectively. Great customer service is offered, and issues that are significant to us receive high-level, individualized attention. Anything we want to do can literally be paid for by the system. Superior after-implementation support is provided.

**What do you dislike about Varicent?**

Even for experienced database users, mastering Varicent can be quite challenging. Anything beyond simple configuration often requires the assistance of experts due to its complexity. Some advanced functionality even demands a high level of database management and technical design expertise. However, ongoing product improvements are gradually making the learning curve more manageable and user-friendly.

**What problems is Varicent solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The issue of computing intricate incentive schemes with lots of payees or data is resolved by Varicent. This enables us to spend more time performing analysis and consulting with our internal partners and less time manually implementing initiatives. Our company was able to increase the precision of its commission calculations, develop more substantial strategic compensation plans, and gain daily access to real-time data by using Varicent to handle the compensation calculation process.
