What do you like best?

Act-on is an easy to use marketing program from start to finish. Just place your text and images and you have a beautiful campaign in a few easy steps. I also like that they do a great job of listening to feedback. They have an advisory board, and conduct regular surveys to make sure they're staying on track with clients and ahead of trends. What do you dislike?

Their social media plugin leaves a lot to be desired unless you pay for the upgrade, but it's not a deal breaker. We still use it for scheduling LinkedIn and Twitter posts, but if we had access to something better, we'd use that instead. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Sit down for a one on one demo with an account representative or attend a few of their webinars. It becomes very apparent that Act-On is focused on making their clients happy and more profitable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We do a lot of one-off emails and weekly newsletters in Act-on that require daily maintenance, however Act-on has given us the ability to automate items whenever possible. I've created systems for all of our onboarding processes from sending out emails with PDF's/links/forms, to notifying our internal staff via Salesforce of manual tasks that must be completed. What do you like best?

The tools for sales users are stellar. With the Act-On Anywhere plugin for Gmail and Outlook, our sales staff is able to upload marketing approved content directly into their email body, and then get real time updates when contacts open and click on the message. From there, sales can log into the Act-On Sales Portal and track known visitors and their history on our websites.

What do you dislike?

What do you like best?

-The ease of use of their Composer to make beautiful landing pages and emails for customers and prospects

-The ability to have all leads from different channels categorized into segments from a Master list and target those segments with email journeys Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

A few times there have been some bugs with the composer so the mails tended to appear differently in the inbox folder than initially created inside the tool. Usually those get fixed quickly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We are gathering leads from all different sources (website, act on landing pages, bots) and segment them according to our needs. It lets us target different audiences with custom content. It allows us to pass high scoring leads to our Sales department seamlessly through our CRM thanx to the integration they have implemented with Microsoft Dynamics 365.

What do you like best?

Excellent and easy to build journeys and automations complete with great support and training. The team at Act-On really scaffolded our squad and this has really helped us adopt and learn the new skills. This wasn't the case with all of the various firms for which we reviewed their offerings. We love the analytics and the ability to download our data into richer and more specific reporting to our needs. In addition, the integration within MS Dynamics has moved us into a proactive pipeline development program, understanding when and how our customers are leveraging our content (or not) and being able to identify great leads. What do you dislike?

This isn't much to dislike about the service. Their support and training ensures success and the platform is the most user friendly that we found. You don't need a Master's Degree in Marketing Automation platforms to pick up the tool and be successful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We've been creating custom journeys for our alumni, friends and donors helping to better understand their interests and what information they'd like to get from us. In addition, through the platform's analytics, we have a much better picture of who is and who isn't opening, reading and clicking through our platform. What do you like best?

Act-On brings together all the tools we need in a marketing automation platform: email, contact lists and segmentation, lead nurturing and scoring, landing pages, webinars, automated programs, drip campaigns, social media marketing, and account based marketing. What do you dislike?

The interface is inconsistent in spots, such as the design tools for emails versus landing pages. HTML layout is also sometimes not "what you see is what you get" -- you get different renderings in different email clients and browsers. Lead scoring is a little complicated. 1) Email marketing and overall list management in compliance with GDPR - biggest benefit is having everything in one place, sharing tools and knowledge across a global organization. 2) Webinar campaigns via Webex integration within Act-On - the reports give us detailed visibility into registrants and attendees. 3) Social Media Marketing via Act-On's Advanced Social Module -- scheduling and tracking posts across sites is a breeze. 4) CRM integration (Salesforce.com) - two-way exchange of contacts and leads so Sales and Marketing always share the latest information, eliminates need for exporting, importing, uploading, downloading. What do you like best?

The documentation and training is fantastic. The capabilities for list management and segmentation are very robust. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

The difficulty that comes with trying to interface with CRMs. It is not an Act-On Issue but an issue on both sides and can be frustrating. I wish there was a better folder system to organize. There is a need for subfolders and this may be coming but now you have to have very long list of folders. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We now are organizing and tracking all the leads we get from our websites. We know how many come in, from what content and we are able to ensure they are followed up.

What do you like best?

Act-On makes it so easy to send out newsletters to hundreds of targeted emails in our health system. Mailing lists are easy to update and upload. Our talented graphics designers create beautiful newsletters in Act-On, which I join to mailing lists...and off they go!

I can then check on how many recipients have opened the email, and how many have clicked on any included links. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

I don't see any downsides at the moment. If I were required in my job to do more than my particular Act-On task, and had to really slice and dice the data at a granular level, I might find some. But I haven't thus far.

The navigation bar has a lot of options, and when I was first learning the platform, that was a little intimidating. But I'm getting more comfortable with it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We send out targeted newsletters to healthcare professionals--mostly frontline folks--and Act-On makes this easy to do. We can build mailing lists for very particular audiences, which is helpful in a large health system.

What do you like best?

I love so many features about Act-On! I highly recommend this company.

1) Act-On is brave enough to take on product enhancements and actually listens to client feedback. They aren’t afraid of change; they embrace it. The marketing industry is constantly changing, so I HAVE to know my vendor isn’t afraid to adapt.

2) When Act-On does make enhancements, they are fantastic. I’m not a coder (Like...at all). I don’t know how to code in any capacity. The best part of Act-On is that it is PERFECT for someone like me. The interface is so easy to use and quick to learn.

3) The training and support teams are outstanding. Whether it's an online webinar, an in person phone call, reaching out to their help desk, or working with my Account Manager, I feel that the entire Act-On staff cares about my team and my company's success. What do you like best?

The program has a lot to give, I have been able to simplify the marketing with an incredible follow up on the most pressing prospects or eventualities. It details information simply and easily in social media automation, advertising and advanced marketing. Act-On keeps me aware of the number of followers or sales at any given time. What do you like best?

What do you like best?

The user experience makes learning new things within the tool pretty easy, and also makes daily tasks and processes easy to work with. Also, the email composer is solid - it's pretty easy for me to build an email based on the vision I have in my head. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

Mobile formatting has always been tough to work around since we use a lot of custom code in our emails. There was also a bug with reporting that took months to work out - it's great now that it is fixed though! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

In my opinion, our emails look pretty slick - they are attractive and users (at times) have shown a high level of engagement. We have also been getting more into automation. What do you like best?

For us, the most helpful feature, apart from being able to send out lots of emails every day, is the ability to create forms and embed them on our website or a landing page (which we made in Act-On) quickly. We also like the ability to connect Act-On directly to our CRM.

Act-On, as a company, is very good. We've attended several webinars where we've learned a lot more about the software. The support team is also very helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

I would appreciate a more mobile-friendly version of the dashboard. As of right now, it's pretty much impossible to use on a mobile device. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We chose Act-On to strengthen our marketing management and we liked how it has provided positive results by automating important processes of marketing management, email, campaign management, lead ratings/scores, social media marketing, seminar participation, among others, all this through a tool that is easy to use and always attentive to technical support and advice. The three main reasons I like Act-On are that it's easy and intuitive, customer support is outstanding, and their account teams are dedicated to customer success. As a small marketing department, we're able to build and execute marketing programs fast and easily. When we need help, the support team responds quickly and sees issues through to resolution. Act-On lets us do marketing automation using salesforce as our source database. All of our marketing activities are tracked and visible in salesforce, which makes it easy for salespeople to see how prospects and customers are engaging. In addition to full email capabilities, we can easily build forms for our website along with landing pages for digital campaigns. All of the data is available in one place so we can see how marketing activities are contributing to the customer journey throughout the pipeline. Our sales team has access to their email histories through Act-On Anywhere (the Outlook plugin), and they're able to both track individual emails and see messaging they're using to know what's resonating best. The social media module lets us create and measure multiple campaigns and provides easy reporting so we can see where we're having the most impact. Our customer success manager is a go-to resource not just for trouble shooting but for brainstorming how to execute against our strategic goals. What do you like best?

Act-On's Customer Support is UNMATCHED by any other vendor I have worked with We have had continuity with the same team for the past 7 years - something which is UNIQUE to Act-On. Other email/marketing automation vendors had revolving door customer support which was very unproductive for me, and a constant irritant.
