It is optional for professors if they wish to implement lockdown browser or not, and when they don't, it is easy for students to navigate to another tab and search the answers on google or use AI. And sometimes, the average on canvas is different from the actual class average because the class takes paper exams or completes other in person assignments, so canvas is not aware of the added grades and cannot make the necessary changes.
