## New Relic Reviews
  ### 1. Tracking memory issues is impossible

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Victor H. | AngularJS / Ruby on Rails developer, Warehousing, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 02, 2017

**What do you like best about New Relic?**

I like the interface, it is nice the free option is also good, the admin dashboard is good because it has good charts and you can turn on / off the things you want to show or hide from the chart. It shows the controllers and models and other consumption metrics which is very good.

**What do you dislike about New Relic?**

Well, they are not doing anything to help developers to determine where are the +1 queries issues, or memory issues, that's why I switched to Scout. The monitoring options should have some text explaining what means each one, for example: What does mean "Ruby VMs"? How do I know if this is having issues that affect my app? It could be hard to understand those concepts.

**Recommendations to others considering New Relic:**

Do not use it to debug memory issues on ROR

**What problems is New Relic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I only use this app to check what are my most expensive controllers, models (loading speed).

  ### 2. Powerful solution for application monitoring

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rahul N. | Senior Engineer, Computer Software, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 04, 2018

**What do you like best about New Relic?**

New Relic is an excellent solution for monitoring the web services/applications, New Relic enables us to measure activity at the macro and micro levels. Really like the NRQL's intuitive construct for its ease of use.

**What do you dislike about New Relic?**

Haven't quite understood the APDEX usage and find it misleading at times

**Recommendations to others considering New Relic:**

The product is definitely worth the money

**What problems is New Relic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Using a combination of APM, Insights and Synthetic offering to monitor production services and proactively take actions and generate metrics for application availability

  ### 3. Great tool for quick snapshot on enterprise application performance

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rajani P. | Principal Software Development Engineer in Test, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 19, 2017

**What do you like best about New Relic?**

Tool configuration and setup time for any new application instance is quick and you can start reviewing performance metrics within 5 minutes. Able to monitor back-end database level exceptions as well with tool configuration on Tomcat.

**What do you dislike about New Relic?**

Even listening time and information will take close 5 minutes to showup on newrelic interface. It would be great if the graphs can be updated with less turnaround time from the event.

**What problems is New Relic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Able to identify performance bottlenecks for a healthcare product.

  ### 4. APM is a powerful, intuitive analytics tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kevin S. | Front End Web Developer, Computer Software, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 28, 2017

**What do you like best about New Relic?**

APM has been an invaluable tool for monitoring and managing multiple applications running on the same server. Detailed stack traces allow you to quickly identify and fix the offending resources before customers are impacted.

This suite enables real-time performance monitoring at a glance.

**What do you dislike about New Relic?**

On the essentials tier, insights events and metric data retention is only for 72 hours. This isn't usually much of an issue, as any catastrophic service interruption is going to get noticed before 3 days are up.

**Recommendations to others considering New Relic:**

DO IT!

This product is an incredible value for the amount of actionable insights you get for a relatively small cost. If you or your organization are looking for a low cost way to improve quality of service, you could do far worse then choosing New Relic.

**What problems is New Relic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My use case was using this on a beefy VPS running a fair number of separate Wordpress instances.

Real, actionable insights into our applications' and server's status allowed us to identify bottlenecks and optimize our server configuration to eliminate slow response times and increase server throughput.

  ### 5. The

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Pedro A. | Founding Partner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 30, 2017

**What do you like best about New Relic?**

APM works plug and play with the Play Framework

**What do you dislike about New Relic?**

The interface is not so beautiful and user-friendly

**Recommendations to others considering New Relic:**

A very complete monitoring solution. A bit on the expensive side but few solution offer so much compatibility with different frameworks without writing a line of code.

**What problems is New Relic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

APM monitoring our staging and production servers

  ### 6. Excellent monitoring performance tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Emiliano V. | Engineering Manager, Consumer Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 11, 2017

**What do you like best about New Relic?**

The monitoring tools including downtime messages.
Scalability analysis is also great to predict what's needed in your stack when building new features or predicting future traffic in your product without hitting max capacity.

**What do you dislike about New Relic?**

Sometimes could be a little trickier to navigate all the features available.
Cost can be high depending the architecture you use (e.g. microservices). Log support is weak.

**Recommendations to others considering New Relic:**

Pricing could be a dealbreaker but I encourage to talk to them to evaluate your current architecture and find a plan that works for you.

**What problems is New Relic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to monitor all our systems performance plus getting notified of any potential issues is perfect for our needs.

  ### 7. Simple & Inutitive

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matthew M. | Front End Web Developer, Real Estate, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 11, 2017

**What do you like best about New Relic?**

NewRelic is a simple and intuitive solution that gives detailed performance metrics for every aspect of the environment, in real-time. I love the amount of detail I can receive on very detailed aspects of my software. I am able to view app performance down to specific lines of code. This allows me to see what the code is connected to, effecting and the resources being used.

**What do you dislike about New Relic?**

The paid solutions are a bit pricey unless you are looking at it as a scalable solution for your future growth. The only other thing I can think of is that the learning curve is a bit steep for inexperienced users.

**Recommendations to others considering New Relic:**

Try out the free version first before hopping to the paid solution.

**What problems is New Relic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The main business problem we solve using New Relic is the prevention of disasters before they occur. Using this analytic tool we have witnessed a few incidents real time that could potentially effect production users - which we were able to isolate and use emergency change control to fix.

  ### 8. NewRelic is essential for APM

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shaan S. | Academy Track Lead, Computer Software, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 28, 2017

**What do you like best about New Relic?**

The ability to see traces of an extremely slow transaction and examine the database queries that ran for that instance. Comparing the CPU, memory, and throughout of all servers for an application.

**What do you dislike about New Relic?**

Older data loses precision, but it does show the general data that you are looking for. The general interface can be a bit slow or clunky and take some time to switch time frame or transaction. I would have liked to see historical performance easier to manage.

**Recommendations to others considering New Relic:**

The price justifies the benefits you receive in monitoring your application as it grows.

**What problems is New Relic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

NewRelic APM allows us to monitor customer experience based on the performance of our servers. Performance changes correlated with our releases allows us to a have clear idea of what improved/worsened the system.

  ### 9. A very powerful, flexible tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 20, 2017

**What do you like best about New Relic?**

It offers a lot of useful tools to monitor your application's health. It has a lot of detailed performance data that lets you quickly identify problem areas and bottlenecks. The live alerts are extremely useful, too, allowing us to maintain uptime even outside of work hours or any time we aren't actively working.

**What do you dislike about New Relic?**

It's extremely tedious to pull any historical data, even something as simple as a single error that occurred last week. The sheer number of features also makes it very difficult to find exactly what you need at times, or even know if what you're looking for exists.

**Recommendations to others considering New Relic:**

Take some time to explore and see which of the fancy charts mean anything to you. You'll thank yourself when you're trying to dig up critical error data later.

**What problems is New Relic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As mentioned above, we use New Relic APM to monitor our application's health and track down bugs as they appear.

  ### 10. Very Powerful APM software

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Antonio F. | Head of Systems Engineering, Internet, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 13, 2017

**What do you like best about New Relic?**

Fast troubleshoot of application.
Simply found applications error or database errors.
Simply interface to others software like Pagerduty

**What do you dislike about New Relic?**

Every single feature as a Cost.
Not cheap service
Sometimes php agent give segmentation fault

**What problems is New Relic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Fast troubleshoot erros

  ### 11. A great view into the health of your application

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 25, 2012

**What do you like best about New Relic?**

Having living, up to the minute graphs describing the health of my web application. Receiving alerts for errors and other failure events.

**What do you dislike about New Relic?**

As the app has gotten more mature, it has gotten more complex. I get pinged about a lot of stuff I'm not interested in, or features I get from other vendors at a lower price point.

**Recommendations to others considering New Relic:**

Try out the trial to see if it fits your needs.

**What problems is New Relic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We currently use them to monitor the uptime and performance of our backend environment, as well as using their Real User Monitoring to give us information about performance on the frontend.

We get pings from newrelic whenever important events occur; like traffic spikes, a large number of errors, or performance of one of our critical pages falls below a certain threshold. They give us a lot of piece of mind that if we push a breaking change we'll find out about it right away, and they're also an important tool when we want to optimize performance. Their reports let us zoom into problem areas easily.

  ### 12. Comprehensive, but more complex that we needed

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 02, 2018

**What do you like best about New Relic?**

Well documented monitoring features, good functionality.

**What do you dislike about New Relic?**

Web interface was quite clunky and cluttered.

**Recommendations to others considering New Relic:**

Consider Rollbar or Skylight as alternatives if you are looking for simple performance and error monitoring for a Rails app.

**What problems is New Relic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Monitoring the performance of our Rails web app. New Relic helped us identify choke points in our code.

  ### 13. New relic

Performance issue,

  ### 14. The best

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alkesh G. | Senior Software Developer, Human Resources, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 22, 2017

**What do you like best about New Relic?**

All api stats, breakup of time for api. SQL query time and suggesting fields which can be indexed to make query fast.

**What do you dislike about New Relic?**

It takes time to load which is expected.

**Recommendations to others considering New Relic:**

It's an must app to be used. If you want to know where you latency so code is slowing down it is the best tool to investigate.

**What problems is New Relic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Optimization and speeding up your application

  ### 15. Great for both app and hardware monitoring

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Maksim S. | Director of IT, Marketing and Advertising, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 08, 2017

**What do you like best about New Relic?**

See slow requests, go through specific details, like when it happened, what DB request were performed, etc.

**What do you dislike about New Relic?**

Not really dislike, they have their own query language so users can build their own insights, I never use it, requires too much time while I need a tool that saves it.

**What problems is New Relic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Analyze application performance, slow requests

  ### 16. Time Saver

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 05, 2018

**What do you like best about New Relic?**

I can quickly see performance bottlenecks in my application.

**What do you dislike about New Relic?**

Occasionally, I find making and sharing charts difficult.

**Recommendations to others considering New Relic:**

You can try it for free and see results quickly.

**What problems is New Relic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm solving performance issues in a web application which affects ingesting new data.

  ### 17. Very good, equally expensive

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 01, 2017

**What do you like best about New Relic?**

NewRelic almost always has the information I need to debug issues that are going on. Error reports are good, with the details that I need to debug, and data shows up without any delay from when the event occurs.

**What do you dislike about New Relic?**

UI is kind of clunky and clicking on anything results in spinners and waiting. When trying to find details of things you're made to click around looking for traces and related DB queries, which the UI makes annoying, and the constant loading spinners make it painful when guessing wrong in the UI.

The price is also very high, and that only seems to get you in the door. More features are available for increases from there, although for the price you'd think it'd be all-inclusive.

**Recommendations to others considering New Relic:**

If you have the money to spend, it's a very nice tool.

**What problems is New Relic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Monitoring and debugging performance and functionality of live web applications.

  ### 18. Nice package, but hard to export data for later comparison.

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 10, 2018

**What do you like best about New Relic?**

Well-organized, almost live views into system capacity.

**What do you dislike about New Relic?**

Inability to export charts for permanent storage.

**What problems is New Relic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Load/performance testing and monitoring. So far we've been able to debunk false assumptions about what the system is actually doing.

  ### 19. Solid monitoring tool - best in class

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 04, 2018

**What do you like best about New Relic?**

overall monitoring great for getting a dashboard one stop shop for server metrics and for providing post mortem analysis on failures and errors

**What do you dislike about New Relic?**

pricing is not cheap, standard monitoring gets you far enough

**What problems is New Relic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

this provides insight into multiple servers, far too painful once scaled to check on machines one by one. in our case, we have fleets of servers going up and down at any moment, new relics helps alert up when anything is wrong

  ### 20. Robust and Peace of Mind

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Marc S. | VP Product Development, Information Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 25, 2017

**What do you like best about New Relic?**

I like the server features, which i think are a free add-on to the APM (paid) offerings

**What do you dislike about New Relic?**

I have found the the pricing plan structure around container-based instances to be hard to navigate in the past, BUT i have heard it was getting much better.

**Recommendations to others considering New Relic:**

Get a good grasp of what your pricing structure is ahead of time, especially if you're using container-based instance pricing.

**What problems is New Relic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Insight into our application performance, as well as server monitoring.

  ### 21. Its a must, for now the healt of your project

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ismael Guillermo M. | Senior Technical Consultant, Computer Software, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 09, 2017

**What do you like best about New Relic?**

What I like the best it's that it really helps tracking events on the apps, the integration with other services like heroku

**What do you dislike about New Relic?**

The user interface it's not the best its very chunky, we also use other options like airbrake and its lighter than new relic

**Recommendations to others considering New Relic:**

It's great for tracking events in your apps, it's one of the best tools in the market

**What problems is New Relic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I really like the integration with heroku it has been very handy, it has helped a lot on finding problems and I really like the information that it's given we use it all the time with heroku but the new implemention of heroku has been great and we are analazing if we should continue using new relic

  ### 22. It provides an elaborate view of the performance of the application

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Apparel & Fashion | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 27, 2018

**What do you like best about New Relic?**

Accurate and effective monitoring and application health

**What do you dislike about New Relic?**

There is an absence of specifics and suggestions for enhancing performance.

**What problems is New Relic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The act of observing or checking something over a period of time.

  ### 25. Essential asset for any web application

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 08, 2017

**What do you like best about New Relic?**

NewRelic provides a key service for anyone hosting a web application. Real-time monitoring and error reporting can turn hours of sifting through logs into a short glance at a few dashboards. Weekly status emails allows for an easy summary of site performance over time.

**What do you dislike about New Relic?**

The price point for the paid versions is a little high. Per server pricing is hard, especially if you're using timed instances on a cloud provider or just have multiple instances behind a load balancer.

**What problems is New Relic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SSAS requires maximum up-time. NewRelic provides a means to be informed when a site goes down and minimizes downtime by providing means to get information quicker.

  ### 26. Love and Depend on New Relic

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ted R. | Network Architect, Supervisor, Building Materials, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 22, 2017

**What do you like best about New Relic?**

The ability to get access to data so quickly and to refer to historic data to improve operational decisions.

**What do you dislike about New Relic?**

I really do love the software so this may seem petty but not having some kind of up down built into the server monitoring makes it so I need to deploy another agent or utilize an additional tool to get this data.

**Recommendations to others considering New Relic:**

Great Product at least give it a try.

**What problems is New Relic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Projecting growth of applications and having real time use statistics at a very granular level have been extremely helpful.

  ### 27. Insightful and easy to use

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 11, 2018

**What do you like best about New Relic?**

I like that the bots can keep a health check on production with little setup work. When there are issues it is easy to do a deep dive using the tool. Great reporting features as well.

**What do you dislike about New Relic?**

Can be a bit of a protracted learning curve to utilize all the capabilities

**What problems is New Relic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ensuring our response times were within SLAs’

  ### 28. Great analytics.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Transportation/Trucking/Railroad | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 21, 2017

**What do you like best about New Relic?**

The ability to quickly analyze performance and error metrics with drill down abilities to see the actual processes that are creating the exceptions.

**What do you dislike about New Relic?**

Navigation within APM can be somewhat confusing giving the amount of information presented on each screen. It's not always intuitive.

**Recommendations to others considering New Relic:**

Very good product. Pricing is a little complicated.

**What problems is New Relic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Web performance, server performance, error(s).

  ### 29. Pretty good experience overall

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Marilyn A. | Associate Engineer, Food Production, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 19, 2017

**What do you like best about New Relic?**

The overview dashboard in the monitoring section is pretty good representation of what is going on. It shows pretty good monitoring and is easy to use.

**What do you dislike about New Relic?**

Maybe the UI needs a little love. Kinda hard to find some of the things I tend to look for.

**What problems is New Relic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We tend to use things like this see our web transactions, traffic, errors, etc. You get a pretty go picture overall and that's usually beneficial.

  ### 30. Incredibly powerful monitoring tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 26, 2017

**What do you like best about New Relic?**

The amount of features you get allows you to dig into the most detailed aspects of your system.

The whole NRQL ability, plus the ability to finetune results is crazy.

**What do you dislike about New Relic?**

Sometimes you feel overwhelmed when you look at so much data: simplifying the UX would be a great plus.

**Recommendations to others considering New Relic:**

I have not seen a more robust monitoring and data gathering tool out there.

**What problems is New Relic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use NPM to monitor all our production applications, and to get much needed data for analysis, feature planning and any other engineering/business related data.

  ### 31. Applocation Monitoring

**Reviewed Date:** January 10, 2018

**What do you like best about New Relic?**

I really like the interface for monitoring web applications.

**What do you dislike about New Relic?**

I don't have any dislikes expect for the speed of it; although my machine could be the culprit of this.

**Recommendations to others considering New Relic:**

N/A

**What problems is New Relic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I recently deployed an ms office rollout and this tool made its analytic monitoring fairly easy and usable.

  ### 32. New Relic has been crucial for our infrastructure

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 19, 2017

**What do you like best about New Relic?**

New Relic has been a great monitoring tool for our infrastructure allowing us to send out automated alerts for CPU usage, Disk capacity and downtime. It's really simple to get going by installing an agent on each host with your API key and literally only takes minutes to get up and running. The alerting is very robust and customizable, and integrates well with all modern forms of alerts, whether that be SMS, email, and web hook integrations with collaboration clients like Slack.

**What do you dislike about New Relic?**

The paid services can quickly get expensive if you have a lot of infrastructure to monitor.

**What problems is New Relic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

New Relic has helped us solve the problem of monitoring our infrastructure and alerting us when there are problems. Instead of hearing from other employees or end-users we are able to find out the status of infrastructure before that happens.

  ### 33. A must have for web service monitoring

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Telecommunications | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 26, 2017

**What do you like best about New Relic?**

New Relic provides all the metrics needed to perfectly monitor your service, discover issues and troubleshoot them.
Being able to track down a performance degradation down to the relevant code deployment and commit is a super useful feature.

**What do you dislike about New Relic?**

- The UI can be slow and overcrowded sometimes.
- Tracking performance in custom code can be tricky.

**What problems is New Relic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We've been able to make sure our system is responding as fast as possible to our customer. We are using New Relic to continuously pinpoint performance bottlenecks and address them.

  ### 34. Really good analytics platform

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jonathan G. | System Architect, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 26, 2017

**What do you like best about New Relic?**

Easy to read graphs and charts. Easy to use UI

**What do you dislike about New Relic?**

Maybe there could be more things that it could read. I'm still looking for an easy way to monitor memory usage

**Recommendations to others considering New Relic:**

I'm not familiar enough with any competitors to say how they rank in comparison, but we get it free as part of the Pantheon platform.

**What problems is New Relic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

New Relic is just providing dashboard monitoring for some of our website hosting and infrastructure. We've used it to help diagnose speed and performance issues in the past

  ### 35. Great!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 18, 2017

**What do you like best about New Relic?**

I have been using New Relic for 2 years now and this is excellent monitoring tool, i have used so far in my career

**What do you dislike about New Relic?**

I dont think there is anything to dislike as of now.

**Recommendations to others considering New Relic:**

Licence cost and features

**What problems is New Relic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Using for website monitoring.,

  ### 36. Monitoring our Stacks

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Deon C. | Senior QA Engineer, Sports, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 27, 2016

**What do you like best about New Relic?**

The real-time analytics are great. It provides the data points we need in order to properly analyze what is going on with our stacks. On top of all that, it's pretty simple and easy to setup with your stacks. There is also a free version to see what it can offer before you possibly opt to get the paid version.

Seems to be pretty solid, compared to some other competitors such as Pingdom and AppDynamics.

Good tool for monitoring stacks up in the Cloud, I'd recommend it.

**What do you dislike about New Relic?**

While the application monitoring is great, the server monitoring is not so great. The paid version (vs the free version) is a tad pricey.

Could have better monitoring tools for decentralized micro-services.

Some of the alerts are a bit "spammy", ie. getting too many emails per day.

**Recommendations to others considering New Relic:**

Try the free version to see what it can do for you.

**What problems is New Relic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Monitoring our apps in real time lets us see problems as they occur, often relating those issues to recent software releases which could very well be the problem (thus allowing us to make a quick fix, or revert that software release).

  ### 37. New Relic, a must have for your rails application

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 14, 2017

**What do you like best about New Relic?**

- easy to setup
- ease of use
- great/handy UI with great UX
- Functionalities that cover most of your day to day needs while not being too complicated
- Reliable, low maintenance cost

**What do you dislike about New Relic?**

- the functionality on doing more detailed performance profiling could have been improved
- in general, New relic provides a very convenient and handy solution for app monitoring/tracking, however, there might be more advanced and customizable functionalities that could be provided to deep/heavy users

**What problems is New Relic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

monitor the entire Rails application, error tracking, performance tracking, etc...

  ### 38. A very good tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anand S. | Java Developer, Automotive, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2017

**What do you like best about New Relic?**

I like the alerts feature that alerts when there are slow transactions. There is the cross app tracing feature which I have not used but sounds promising. It has got a lot of good documentation on how to use the app.

**What do you dislike about New Relic?**

It is not very intuitive due to the nature of the problem it is trying to solve.

**What problems is New Relic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

1. Monitoring the server.
2. Pre-empt app down times before it affects the customer

  ### 39. New Relic APM allows us to improve the performance of our websites

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brock P. | Senior Internet Infrastructure Administrator, Internet, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 28, 2017

**What do you like best about New Relic?**

The error rate reporting is excellent and helps us diagnose issues with website performance.

**What do you dislike about New Relic?**

The interface is a little convoluted and navigation could be made to be more intuitive.

**What problems is New Relic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have increased the response time of our websites by eliminating many errors.

  ### 40. Easy to use but expensive

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David L. | Chief Technology Officer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 20, 2016

**What do you like best about New Relic?**

NewRelic is a breeze to setup. With my Rails and Sinatra apps, I get the base monitoring by just adding a gem to the project. To get server monitoring, just install a package and start the service.

**What do you dislike about New Relic?**

It's expensive and even the sales guys don't seem to fully understand their pricing model. I run a Rails application on Google Container Cloud and it tooks several emails back and forth to figure out if I am priced per node in the Kubernetes cluster or per container. They ultimately charged me per node.

**Recommendations to others considering New Relic:**

It's a good product when you're starting out, but it's pretty easy to outgrow it. Their alerting system is very fragmented. We use NewRelic Server a lot and the alert for when a system is offline isn't in their new alerting platform so we are stuck using both. It's also really easy to go over your license quota if you are auto scaling an application.

**What problems is New Relic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We run several Ruby web applications and mobile apps. We needed a monitoring solution that we really didn't have to think about. NewRelic definitely provided that. We added the gems to the Ruby apps and the mobile dependencies and were up and running really quickly with basic monitoring.

  ### 41. A good help in app monitoring

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 27, 2018

**What do you like best about New Relic?**

SQL Queries detailed analytics helps in finding bottlenecks in the system

**What do you dislike about New Relic?**

The terms of cancelling an annual subscription aren't clear.a

**What problems is New Relic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Website availability under high load

  ### 42. Good, but all saas

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 19, 2017

**What do you like best about New Relic?**

Several types of monitoring. Easy to use interface.

**What do you dislike about New Relic?**

Only saas. Confidential information can be a concern. Appdex score for health based in industry, not based on your typical stuff.

**Recommendations to others considering New Relic:**

Look at appdynamics.

**What problems is New Relic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We did a review, but can't use it for compliance reasons

  ### 43. Really useful for monitoring our websites server

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 21, 2017

**What do you like best about New Relic?**

We use it for website monitoring, to track errors, execution time, and call path. It is really easy to trace errors and to pinpoint what is going on. We are able to easily see why certain transactions are slow and able to make improvements based on that. The alerts for error rate have saved us a few times, they would go off and we found and fixed issues quickly.

**What do you dislike about New Relic?**

The interface is a bit hard to use, and things are really hidden sometimes. It has a bit of a learning curve but once you get there it it very usable.

**What problems is New Relic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We wanted more insight into our website performance and errors. We receive actionable information around our webapp.

  ### 44. New relic has helped us automatically track errors before our customers find them!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Robert V. | Lead Web Developer, Higher Education, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 28, 2017

**What do you like best about New Relic?**

Automatic reports of the health of our websites telling us if there are any errors. It's great to receive emails with these updates which we forward into our project management tool for them to be assigned to look into.

**What do you dislike about New Relic?**

I haven't found anything in particular so far that I dislike. The application suites our use-case pretty well.

**What problems is New Relic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have around 5 servers involved in our development/production workflow that need monitoring. New relic provides automatic monitoring of these servers and sends us emails anytime anything is wrong. This is great because it catches things before our customers see issues.

  ### 45. Always on, consistently easy to use

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aaron A. | Co-founder and CEO, Computer Software, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 19, 2017

**What do you like best about New Relic?**

As our infrastructure has grown, the level of complexity has grown as well. NewRelic has been a constant for monitoring across all of our services. It is just as simple to get an at-a-glance view of infrastructure health as it was in the beginning.

**What do you dislike about New Relic?**

There is nothing that I dislike about the platform.

**What problems is New Relic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Infrastructure health monitoring

  ### 46. Very insightful Application Monitoring

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michal M. | Director of Technology, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 31, 2017

**What do you like best about New Relic?**

It's very easy to setup and provides deep integration with many frameworks and software. It's much easier to train developers on than other solutions and provides a wealth of alert options.

**What do you dislike about New Relic?**

It has a large number of different services that can be difficult to navigate at times.

**What problems is New Relic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

If you depend on your application for your business having realtime insights into how they are performing is vital. New Relic provides those insights.

  ### 47. Best tool to monitor

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Staffing and Recruiting | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 10, 2018

**What do you like best about New Relic?**

It is easy to see the problematic query. We could monitor the CPU of the system.

**What do you dislike about New Relic?**

We could enhance the mobile app feature further.

**Recommendations to others considering New Relic:**

Certainly! Please provide the text in the Unknown Language that you would like translated into English.

**What problems is New Relic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The CPU and SQL Server are experiencing health issues.

  ### 48. Server monitoring, but lots of overlap with AWS tools.

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 03, 2017

**What do you like best about New Relic?**

Server health monitoring is easy to setup and works well.

**What do you dislike about New Relic?**

Some features are not a good fit for AWS stacks. Free tier is going away.

**What problems is New Relic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Makes monitoring of physical assets (cpu usage, hard-drive space, etc.) quick and easy.

  ### 49. Great insights on your application performance

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 07, 2017

**What do you like best about New Relic?**

Real time performance monitoring of application in production environment

**What do you dislike about New Relic?**

Cost is on higher side hence limting it to run on production environment only

**Recommendations to others considering New Relic:**

Absolutely must tool gives lot of insights into your applications in production

**What problems is New Relic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Application and Infrastructure monitoring

  ### 50. Wonderful APM Tool (limitations on iOS App)

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bharadwaj (Brad) C. | Director Of Engineering/Head of Reliability Engineering, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 31, 2017

**What do you like best about New Relic?**

1. Server Metrics
2. Application Metrics
3. Supports both Java/.NET

**What do you dislike about New Relic?**

not up to the mark regarding iOS metrics unlike AppDynamics

**Recommendations to others considering New Relic:**

One of the best in the market for Java and .NET application metrics and monitoring. However, mobile app requires work and is not at the level of other mobile monitoring partners.

**What problems is New Relic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Metrics & Monitoring for application world
