What do you like best about Mindbody?

I like that Mindbody has everything together. I can process credit card payments, schedule clients, call clients, use text reminders, and send emails on birthdays and monthly sales campaigns. It just makes life easy by having everything in one piece of software without needing a POS system. I can handle all tasks within one program, which is a big convenience. What do you dislike about Mindbody?

I wish the email reminders were a little bit better. The templates are very basic as far as appearance goes.. The ability to use fancy graphics on the emails is difficult. I als am not a huge fan of the app. It works for basic things like scheduling and you can process payments, but our trainers wish it was easier to things like recurring appointments. What do you dislike about Mindbody?

Choosing Mindbody as the reservation platform for our Pilates studio has, unfortunately, been a very disappointing experience.

Because Mindbody is one of the biggest providers in this space, we expected a smooth onboarding process and reliable support. Instead, we ran into multiple issues from the start, and several of them are still unresolved.

Before signing, we were told we could have our own branded app. After we signed the agreement, we were informed that, as a freelancer, we are not eligible due to Apple Store policy. This was a key requirement for us, and other platforms have confirmed that this is actually possible regardless of legal structure.

Onboarding itself was also problematic. We are based in Amsterdam, yet we were assigned an onboarding representative in a completely different time zone. This made communication difficult, with meeting slots as late as 9 PM. On top of that, our VAT settings were configured incorrectly, which led to incorrect invoices during our first month. The system also doesn’t allow proper invoice cancellation, creating unnecessary administrative complications.

We also had to discover on our own that there are two different versions of the Mindbody website integration widget. We weren’t informed about this and ended up implementing the wrong one, which negatively affected the checkout experience and likely caused us to lose customers.

We have repeatedly requested proper support or a dedicated account manager to help correct the setup, but most responses have been automated emails asking whether we still have the same problem, without any real resolution.

Customer support has been inconsistent overall, with different representatives giving conflicting answers and often saying that limitations are simply “how the system works.”

In the end, this experience has created unnecessary operational difficulties at a critical stage of our business. We hope Mindbody will take responsibility and improve the onboarding and support process for new studios. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great Reporting and a Staff App That’s Intuitive and easy"
What do you like best about Mindbody?

MindBody has unbelievable reporting and analysis of our business. The Staff App is also the only one we've seen that has a calendar view and is intuitive and easy to use to enable our staff to respond quickly to our customers. The amount of settings and customisable options to set up the system are amazing and means that we can tailor the system to our business needs. What do you dislike about Mindbody?

We use the system for both adults who book single classes themselves online, but then also for children after school activities which are booked on a term basis. We find it difficult to have customers book term bookings for family accounts with the current functionality. We see this is improving, but still some work to be done by MindBody on workshop/enrollment bookings. Also there aren't enough filters on the MindBody custom booking app currently to refine your search for those who offer a lot of classes daily. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Mindbody?

I guess sometimes Mindbody looks very simple. I mean, just booking an appointment is very simple. Looking at some reports is very simple. And checking out sessions is simple too. So, yeah, the simplicity of the app is really nice. Since these tasks are easy to do in Mindbody, it allows me to save so much time on doing things. On a very busy day, it allows me to be efficient. What do you dislike about Mindbody?

There are some reports that we cannot produce, like specific reports about total clients with assessments. It's also a little bit hard to reschedule appointments. I like Mindbody for use in fitness and dance studios. I feel that this platform is great for organizing classes, signing clients in, creating workshops and keeping contact logs. What I dislike is how the updates at times disrupts how an established flow that studio established and that it takes a little while to figure out where an old feature now lives. There are times when Mindbody is not intuitive, however thus far I've really appreciated the customer support and that I can get on the phone with them pretty easily and they can walk me through how to solve the problem. What do you like best about Mindbody?

I love that I can get to what I want about three different ways. This feature is super helpful because I am not super tech savvy, and it makes it easy for me and my staff to find things quickly. Having a side menu bar, a top menu bar, and settings options really helps with navigating the software. We save so much time with Mindbody because we have everything in one place, including 13 years of comprehensive client history, which helps us stay in touch with our customer service. What do you dislike about Mindbody?

They are constantly improving. While that is a good thing, the layouts and interfaces are always changing. This tends to cause confusion, frustration of change for change sake and invites a lot of bugs into the day to day flow which eats at time calling to register and get them ironed out. I am not going to lie, it is a lot of work, but as is anything worth while. While user friendly it is grossly comprehensive and although we use a lot - we know we only use the tip of the iceberg. Well, I like its strength as a vendor because they've been around for a long time. I also like the improvements to the interface a lot. Those are recent and help mostly by making navigation easier. I mean, I can find things more easily. The AI has been really helpful to me because it answers questions that I typically would have to call Mindbody support for. I find the method of reporting in Mindbody to be frustrating. The current system only offers canned reports, meaning that the reports are only useful if Mindbody already has a pre-built report that meets my needs. However, sometimes I need to combine data from different tables, like combining two reports, which isn't straightforward. The process requires running multiple reports and tagging clients repeatedly. What do you like best about Mindbody?

I use Mindbody to schedule our clients, handle all of our billing, and as a CRM. It allows for automatic payment processing for clients, which is really helpful given the volume of clients we work with each month. The billing happens automatically, which saves us a lot of time. It also tracks all of our client sessions, whether they attend or not, and this helps us provide detailed information regarding their accounts. What do you like best about Mindbody?

Mindbody keeps all of our scheduling, client management, sales, and reporting in one organized system. It is very easy for our staff to use, even during busy periods, and the interface makes daily operations smooth and efficient. Their customer support is excellent and any time we needed assistance they guided us through screen sharing and resolved issues quickly. We use the software every day and rely on most of the features available in the Business app, except for the marketing tools. Overall, it has streamlined how we run our studio. The implementation process is not difficult, but setting up the main features and becoming comfortable with the system typically takes one to two weeks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Mindbody?

Some features in Mindbody seem outdated and often require too many steps to accomplish basic tasks. Certain settings are not very intuitive, which can make onboarding new staff slower than it should be. I also find it limiting that Mindbody only allows a single liability waiver per client at their first visit; it would be much more helpful if multiple waivers could be assigned for different services, especially for studios offering a variety of options. Additionally, the forms and waivers could be improved to be more dynamic and user-friendly, rather than depending mainly on uploaded documents.
