What is Mindbody, and what problem is it built to solve?

Mindbody is an AI-driven SaaS platform serving fitness, wellness, and lifestyle businesses. It supports the operators and providers delivering in-person experiences and helps consumers discover them.

What languages does Mindbody support?

Mindbody supports 6 languages, including English, French, German, Italian, and Portuguese, as well as Spanish.

What company sizes and industries is Mindbody the best fit for?

Mindbody’s positive experience is most concentrated among smaller businesses in health, wellness, and fitness, with mid-market organizations also represented.
  • Company size: Small businesses with 50 or fewer employees are the clearest cluster.
  • Industry: Health, wellness, and fitness businesses are especially prominent.

How long does it take to implement Mindbody across a team?

Getting Mindbody live is most often reported as taking less than a month, though some teams describe a longer rollout.
Time to go live Relative frequency
Less than 1 month Most common
1–3 months Also reported
3–6 months or longer Less common

What customer support options does Mindbody provide, and how do users find the overall support experience?

Mindbody provides support through phone, chat, and email, alongside self-serve FAQs and knowledge resources. The experience can be very helpful, with users appreciating quick, knowledgeable guidance, but it is not consistent: some find support slow or unable to resolve more complex issues.

What is the experience like for teams switching to Mindbody from another tool?

Switching to Mindbody has often been about bringing more business operations together and getting capabilities that were missing or limited in a prior system. Users describe moving from a range of scheduling, booking, salon, and studio-management tools to Mindbody for broader options in areas such as memberships, payments, marketing, payroll, and client booking; the transition can feel worthwhile, but the larger feature set may take time to learn.

What tools and platforms does Mindbody integrate with, and how do these integrations help users get more value from the product?

Mindbody offers 36 integrations, with users connecting it to tools for fitness discovery, marketing, payments, and websites.
  • Fitness discovery and booking: ClassPass and Wellhub.
  • Marketing and customer engagement: Attentive and Constant Contact.
  • Payments: Clover and Square.
  • Websites and online stores: Shopify.
These connections can help businesses reach potential clients, automate outreach, and connect booking or payment workflows. The experience varies: some integrations are useful once running, while setup, reliability, or coordination between systems can be frustrating.

What features or capabilities could make Mindbody even more useful?

Mindbody could be more useful with a simpler day-to-day experience and more flexible tools for managing information and client journeys.
  • Make navigation and setup clearer, with fewer steps and less hunting through settings for routine tasks.
  • Offer more customizable reporting so teams can find and combine the metrics they need without workarounds.
  • Smooth out client booking and checkout, including guest and family bookings and more flexible booking filters.
  • Improve consistency and synchronization across the platform, apps, website widgets, and connected tools.

How useful do Mindbody users find its AI features in everyday use?

Mindbody’s AI tools are useful for quick guidance and handling common client questions, but they are less dependable for complex or specific issues.
  • AI help and assistance: Users describe getting help finding settings, navigating the system, and troubleshooting routine questions.
  • AI concierge and messaging: Users describe it answering common questions and helping clients with bookings or outreach, including when staff are unavailable.
These tools can save time and reduce the need to contact support, though responses may be inaccurate, circular, or incomplete, so users sometimes need to check the result or step in themselves.

"Mindbody’s All-in-One Platform Keeps Our Scheduling, Payments, and Operations Running Smoothly"
4/5
What do you like best about Mindbody?

What I like best about Mindbody is that it serves as an all-in-one system for our business. It manages scheduling, appointments, payments, communication, reporting, and staff operations in one place. I especially appreciate the AI chatbot, which helps us answer client questions efficiently. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Mindbody?

The appointment-processing workflow could be more flexible for businesses offering multiple services, such as massage, reflexology, and Reiki. It would be helpful to create more specific appointment types and customize the workflow for each service. Marketing segmentation and campaign setup can also feel unintuitive, so clearer navigation and more flexible tools would improve efficiency. Finally, more proactive onboarding and access to a dedicated account manager would help businesses use Mindbody’s full potential. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Powerful All-in-One Tool That Streamlines My Yoga Studio Operations"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Mindbody?

I’m finding it to be a very powerful tool that’s crucial to my day-to-day operations as a single owner-operator of a yoga studio. I’ve been using it for over six months, and I feel like I have a lot more control over what I need to do—while also realizing there’s still a lot in it that I haven’t used yet.

My studio instructors are very comfortable with it. The check-in process is simple, and on the back end I can manage my students’ payments and memberships.

I’ve also started using campaigns to reach out to my students. The templated campaigns that are pre-designed are very easy to modify to suit my marketing.

I’m building out the AI concierge, which I again think is crucial for a single owner-operator. As I grow, I’ll be able to bring others into using the AI concierge as well. We have classes and workshops seven days a week, and it’s helping me cover times when I’m not available.

I’m primarily using the web-based version, and I’m starting to use the app on my phone for quick updates to classes.

Support has been very good. The AI chat is helpful and will obviously get better over time. That said, I’m still someone who wants to speak to somebody on the phone to resolve issues when the AI chat isn’t clear. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Mindbody?

One issue I’ve run into is having to make the same change in multiple places throughout the application. For example, there seem to be 7 or 8 different spots where the phone number, address, and email are stored. That information really should be managed in one central location, but because it isn’t, we’ve had situations where phone calls and emails went to the previous owner of the studio. We didn’t realize those numbers and addresses were still saved in certain areas and weren’t being updated universally.

A few days ago, I discovered the previous owner’s phone number again when I tried to create a campaign. I used the test page from a template, and it pulled in their phone number. After that, I had to track down where it was coming from, which took quite a bit of time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Helpful AI Chat and Real-Time Updates Keep Our Studio Running Smoothly"
4/5
What do you like best about Mindbody?

The AI chat has been very helpful across the platform. Using AI to dive into a problem has saved me an hour-plus phone call and keeps me present in the studio. The MINDBODY business app also makes it easy to handle quick client check-ins and check-outs. Overall, the settings are straightforward to navigate, and updates happen in real time across our booking app and website. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Mindbody?

The main downsides are the customer service phone calls, since they take over an hour almost every time. Also, some features that are available on the site aren’t available in the app, like drag and drop. Unfortunately, these issues become really time-consuming when we’re trying to grow our studio. It would help a lot if the MINDBODY business app offered the same user capabilities as the site. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great Credit System, But the Family Setup Creates Customer-Facing Headaches"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Mindbody?

I like that I can sign people up using a credit-based system, and that those credits can have an expiration date. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Mindbody?

There are honestly a few issues for me. The family system is the worst I’ve seen in any application, and the only reason I stay is because of the credit system. If someone came out with something that had a solid family system and also a good credit-usage setup, I’d leave. Right now I’m paying $377 for this. Yes, there are some integrations I utilize on the back end, but in my situation the front end—where I’m dealing with customers—is the most important part. Overall, it gives me more headaches than anything else, to be honest. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Simple Interface, Fast Help, and Strong Marketing Support with Mindbody"
5/5
What do you like best about Mindbody?

I like working with Mindbody because I can always ask for help and get a quick response. The interface is quite simple, which I really appreciate since I’m not too much into IT. It also offers a lot of marketing support and a branded app. I’d also like to say a big THANK YOU to a team member Fernando Donaire who was extremely helpful throughout my launching process and made the whole experience feel smooth and easy. If you run a wellness, fitness, or workout place, don’t hesitate to use Mindbody. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Mindbody?

Nothing really bad I need to mention. Maybe it's not the cheapest but worth the money. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Nicole Tully of Mindbody

Thanks so much for the recommendation and for recognizing Fernando’s support during your launch! We’re glad the appointment book and marketing tools are working well for you.

"Reports and my customer success manager super but system Feels a little old and Clunky"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Mindbody?

The reports are excellent, and my customer support manager, Fabiana C., has been incredible for my business. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Mindbody?

Some of the features feel outdated and clunky. For example, I can’t set up a new pricing option and add it to my website or newsletters ahead of time, which makes it hard to prepare in advance for launch days. The booking system from my website can also be tricky for clients to navigate, especially when it opens in a new window on MindBody instead of staying on my studio website, clients really dislike this. There are also far too many clicks before checkout or before booking a class, and it genuinely puts people off. Overall, it feels like an older system that needs updating to bring it in line with newer platforms. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy to Navigate, Clear Support, and a Powerful Platform to Grow My Business"
5/5
What do you like best about Mindbody?

It is very easy to navigate and the support is incredibly clear. It allows me to run my business efficiently and communicate clearly and effectively with my customer base. It provides me with a sophisticated platform and the benefit of being showcased in their consumer app with a very far reaching network. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Mindbody?

Initially I thought it was built for and better suited to multi location businesses and classpass users, but I was wrong. Boutique stand alone businesses like mine can greatly benefit from the many options mindbody provides. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Nicole Tully of Mindbody

We appreciate your thoughtful review. We’re happy to hear Mindbody is easy to navigate and that our support has been clear and helpful. Boutique businesses can absolutely thrive on the platform - over half our customers are single location businesses. We’re excited that you’re making the most of its tools.

"All-in-One Scheduling and Client Management That Streamlines Daily Operations"
4/5
What do you like best about Mindbody?

What I like best about Mindbody is having so much of the day-to-day management of our training business in one place. Scheduling, client management, payments, and reporting are all easy to access, and it gives our team a consistent system to work from. Once everything is set up, it helps reduce a lot of the administrative work that comes with managing a busy personal training facility. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Mindbody?

The biggest downside is that Mindbody can feel overly complicated for certain tasks. There are a lot of features and settings, which is helpful, but it can also make simple changes take more steps than they should. Reporting and navigating the backend could also be more intuitive. Overall, it works well, but there’s definitely a learning curve. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"All-in-One Studio Management, but Checkout Slows Things Down"
4/5
What do you like best about Mindbody?

I like that Mindbody has all the tools I need to manage my studio in one place, including scheduling classes and appointments, managing client profiles and teacher payments, and marketing to clients. The website widgets automatically show updated class, event, and appointment information, so I don’t have to keep updating the website manually. I also like the reports that let me see how classes are doing and how clients are attending. It’s relatively easy for my teachers to use, and it’s well known. Setup was pretty easy, though it took a long time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Mindbody?

I don't love the inventory management or checkout. It takes many steps to sign someone in and make a purchase, with a lot of back and forth handing the device to the client and getting it back, so checkout takes quite a while. I wish I could add an item to the client's cart, choose a payment method, and purchase it in just one or two clicks. I use Square to process payments because I don't like Mindbody's checkout process. The setup was pretty easy, but it took a long time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Nicole Tully of Mindbody

We appreciate your thoughtful feedback. It’s great to hear that Mindbody’s scheduling tools, website widgets, reports, and client management support your studio. We also hear your concerns about inventory and the back-and-forth involved in checkout. Your suggestion for a simpler, one- or two-click purchase flow is helpful, and we’ll pass it along to our product team.

"Reliable CRM and helpful support, but progress tracking and pricing need work"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Mindbody?

I feel like I get used to the UI and have no issues with that, new integrations are good but on the difficult side to adapt using them. Performance is good and overall I feel that I do not need to worry that CRM will not work for whatever reason. Customer support is there, and for the most part can resolve the issue quickly, although there are some parts that just do not work and there is no solution. AI is helpful, but cannot completely remove human interaction. On the pricing side, I would say it is on the expensive side, especially with the new higher rate for processing fees and marketing integration. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Mindbody?

1-The progress tracking system is not working and not automated enough, design is outdated for it and options on how to reward clients are very limited. 2-Having multiple logins for branded app, web widget, and Mindbody side is annoying and it would be nice if that could all be put together. 3-The ability to create my own UI would be very nice to bring the points that I want to see. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Nicole Tully of Mindbody

Thank you for sharing such thoughtful feedback. We’re glad Mindbody is reliable for your CRM, that support has been helpful, and that analytics and class visit tracking have improved. We hear your concerns and will share these points with our teams as we continue improving the platform.
