The core droplet infrastructure is solid and the pricing is competitive. It is a shame the AI/ML product layered on top of it does not meet the same standard. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I run a production AI SaaS on DigitalOcean. Over the last 24 hours, Gradient has broken in three separate ways, all of them still open:
Indexing job on a single small file has been running for 7+ hours, stuck at 0% progress, 0 tokens indexed. The "Download Details" link in the Activity tab is dead. No logs. Support's first response was to ask me for logs I had already told them did not exist.
API keys for bring-your-own-key on production models show 0 agents attached when agents are clearly attached. Engineering has been "actively working on it" with no ETA.
Agent Playground hard-caps max_tokens at 512 regardless of the model selected. I am using my own Anthropic Sonnet 4.6 key and still capped at 512. Engineering has been "actively working on it" with no ETA.
During all of this the DigitalOcean status page has shown all green.
The support workaround for the token cap is to call the Update Agent API manually with curl, which would silently bypass the configuration governance we have in place as part of our compliance posture. That is not a viable workaround for anyone operating under SOC2, ISO 27001, HITRUST, or any serious internal change-management process.
This is not a one-off. On their paid $99/mo support tier, I was chastised for opening multiple tickets that turned out to be the same underlying Gradient issue (which is exactly the kind of correlation support is supposed to make). That escalation then went silent for three weeks. A promised survey credit also failed to post and had to be chased separately. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
