## DigitalOcean Reviews
  ### 1. Reliable Cloud Hosting

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andy C. | Principal Solutions Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 14, 2022

**What do you like best about DigitalOcean?**

I find the speed and simplicity as the best features for DigitalOcean. Other cloud providers are too complex and require too many hoops to jump through.

**What do you dislike about DigitalOcean?**

Honestly. DO is doing a great job. I have zero complaints about the platform.

**What problems is DigitalOcean solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I love using DO for a virtual home lab. I can spin up multiple nodes and play. Having the speed to iterate quickly is invaluable.

  ### 2. Ease to use!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Fernando F. | Head of Technology, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 14, 2022

**What do you like best about DigitalOcean?**

The entire platform is super easy to use. The main tools used in the cloud are available. Transparency with monthly expenses is also a strong point.

**What do you dislike about DigitalOcean?**

One of the weaknesses is that it does not have data centers in Brazil and does not have payments in our local currency (Brazilian Real).

**What problems is DigitalOcean solving and how is that benefiting you?**

DigitalOcean helps us to have greater agility and ease with all cloud infrastructure

  ### 3. DO change my business mood

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alessandro C. | Freelance, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 23, 2022

**What do you like best about DigitalOcean?**

DO allowed me to make projects scalable for my clients and to have a single provider of hosting services, even complex ones. Of course I had to learn how to manage them but I was able to offer an additional and quality service to my customers

**What do you dislike about DigitalOcean?**

You have to study and understand the tutorials of the guides, sometimes I found myself in difficulty but with a little effort in the end you can do what you want.

**What problems is DigitalOcean solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With the market place it has allowed me to have almost ready tools available even for complex projects that alternatively I could not have offered my customers

  ### 4. Great service

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Thomas P. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 21, 2023

**What do you like best about DigitalOcean?**

I keep forgetting they exist because their services are so reliable. Solid infrastructure.

**What do you dislike about DigitalOcean?**

I've been a user for more than 6 years and the only "issue" i have is that they don't offer a smaller managed postgres instance. That's the only nitpick I have.

**What problems is DigitalOcean solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Web all development.

  ### 5. We've been using DigitalOcean for years and will continue to do that

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 15, 2022

**What do you like best about DigitalOcean?**

We usually need to spawn a few virtual machines for both testing our products and trying new apps, and doing so with DigitalOcean is as simple as pressing one button.

**What do you dislike about DigitalOcean?**

The only thing we can complain about it's not the usability but the cost of their app platform, specially when you need a database attached (which is likely to be every time)

**What problems is DigitalOcean solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Again, the one thing we really like is that we can launch it, use it for maybe one or two hours and then destroy the droplet with one click

  ### 6. Speed and scalability is equal to DigitalOcean

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Asad R. | Web Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**What do you like best about DigitalOcean?**

Excellent price for the performance combined with solid support for when you need it.

**What do you dislike about DigitalOcean?**

In the over 7 years of using Digital Ocean I haven't encountered any downsides to using their service. Having said that, it is geared towards advanced users so one has to be aware of that.

**What problems is DigitalOcean solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It provides the hosting for our web application which consists of several front end web servers, some load balancers, a MySQL database and a redis database.

  ### 10. Professional hosting solutions for everyone

Always up to date, and more and more services

**What do you dislike about DigitalOcean?**

More saas services and thiongs can be integrated for professional services for certain clients

  ### 12. Reliable and excellent value for money

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 15, 2022

**What do you like best about DigitalOcean?**

Spinning up servers is incredibly easy, and I've never had a problem understanding how it works. Again the documentation is excellent.

Additionally there are many 3rd party dashboard providers that make it very easy to make multiple servers in one place.

**What do you dislike about DigitalOcean?**

There is not much to dislike. Up time over the past 10 years has been superb. I'm a little bit unhappy about the recent price increases since the company has grown exponentially since their beginnings, and if anything the economies of scale should bring prices down not up.

**What problems is DigitalOcean solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I run websites! The main problem DO helps me to solve is to spin up test environments. This reduces downtime of the live servers, and improves productivity significantly.

  ### 13. A good VPS solutions provider

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Devang S. | Content Writer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 26, 2022

**What do you like best about DigitalOcean?**

Digital Ocean is a good Virtual Private Server provider. It provides scalable VPS instances. It has flat pricing and pay-as-you-go payment models.
Digital Ocean provides droplets, dockers and containers.

**What do you dislike about DigitalOcean?**

Digital Ocean is a good option to use for VPS (Virtual Private Server) but it has high costing compared to others. It should provide some affordable or free instances to naive users.

**What problems is DigitalOcean solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have used Digital Ocean for hosting our website and other few things. It provides a good way to connect with instances. We can use SSH to directly access the server terminal.

  ### 14. You can see why developers love Digital Ocean

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Frank B. | Principal, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 17, 2023

**What do you like best about DigitalOcean?**

Digital Ocean offers a non-nonsense solution to web hosting.

**What do you dislike about DigitalOcean?**

Some of the interfaces is a little weird until you get to know them.

**What problems is DigitalOcean solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Inexpensive web hosting and CDN solutions.

  ### 15. Good Enough but, Not Full Fill My Expectations

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ajay R. | Content Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 26, 2022

**What do you like best about DigitalOcean?**

Digital Ocean is one of the best cloud platforms, alongside Linode, and Vultr. I liked Digital Ocean's simple User Interface and managing the services, whenever I need to upgrade or extend with one click I can do that. Digital Ocean's documentation and Tutorial guides are one of the best guides and are up to date to date. The pricing was decent or will be because they are changing their current pricing with newer plans.

**What do you dislike about DigitalOcean?**

There is not much to dislike about Digital Ocean, and It could be a different person's different perspectives about it. I mostly disliked their login page, they banned my Wifi's IP address and now I cannot log in, everytime just shows the never-ending captcha. So, to log in to my account, I have to use a different network every time. If we talked about features then, it is my own perspective that, Digital Ocean could also provide the paid cPanel and Plesk license, rather you have to buy separately. On other hand, Vultr included cPanel fees in their server cost if we deploy. And Digital Ocean does not have any Windows support. It is sad. They also change their pricing table now we have to pay about 10% more for a server.

**Recommendations to others considering DigitalOcean:**

However, I still recommend to using Digital Ocean for certain segments of users like Who is enterprise or small-medium businesses. but not a beginner individual developer, it would be costlier compared to other providers.

**What problems is DigitalOcean solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I was using Digital Ocean for hosting my websites on it. Using Digital Ocean we can easily scale or resize server size accordingly to the website traffic and users. Pricing and performance were also great, however, I have switched now.

  ### 16. I had been using DigitalOcean for years I like it a much

Stability, Easy to use, Variety of price model, Droplets

**What do you dislike about DigitalOcean?**

To be honest nothing except the increasing of price

**What problems is DigitalOcean solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Simplicity, use to use, wide varity

  ### 17. Digital Ocean App Platform review

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Fred M. | Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 14, 2022

**What do you like best about DigitalOcean?**

The autodeploy feature, with alert policies and managed db

**What do you dislike about DigitalOcean?**

Downtimes sometimes can cause customer panics

**What problems is DigitalOcean solving and how is that benefiting you?**

  ### 18. Probably the worst service you could receive!!

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 01, 2022

**What do you like best about DigitalOcean?**

They did not have the tools I wanted to create my own VPN

**What do you dislike about DigitalOcean?**

Their customer service does nothing for you; they asked for my credit card number for "Verification."
And two days later, a $12 charge on my card for using nothing. My profile is empty, and nobody even answers it.

The customer support says 24/7, but they do not even respond to your request!

**What problems is DigitalOcean solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Nothing

  ### 19. Great cloud sever at a fair and affordable price

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Josh D. | Senior front end developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 15, 2022

**What do you like best about DigitalOcean?**

The uptime and speed of the server is amazing and the fact I can scale up and down droplets means I'm
Never spending more then I need to

**What do you dislike about DigitalOcean?**

Nothing I like everything about the digital ocean brand and service

**What problems is DigitalOcean solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It solves my issue of hosting my clients website. I like that I can host each website on a separate droplet which is much better for security

  ### 20. Easy To Use Cost Effective and Scalability

**What do you like best about DigitalOcean?**

**What problems is DigitalOcean solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Infrastructure as Service can be easily scalable and downgraded on the Fly. Lower Cost best platform for SMB business.

  ### 21. Easy Interface

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Madhav P. | Back End Engineer Intern, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 08, 2022

**What do you like best about DigitalOcean?**

Using droplets to make virtual machines is effortless I just have to select everything like selecting multiple choice questions. very easy to setups droplets compared to amazon's EC2

**What do you dislike about DigitalOcean?**

The way we have to add a payment method before even making an account is bad it scares away customers who are just gonna be testing services to move to a different cloud provider

**What problems is DigitalOcean solving and how is that benefiting you?**

helping me scale my systems using functions and i can also scale my droplets horizontally and vertically both which is exactly what i want

  ### 22. Developer's Best Friend

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ali K. | Full Stack Web Developer, Python & Django Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 25, 2022

**What do you like best about DigitalOcean?**

As a software developer, Digitalocean provides me with the ideal environment and allows me to focus comfortably on my software project. It gives me the opportunity to publish my work securely with its competitive price and extensive access opportunities.

**What do you dislike about DigitalOcean?**

The only thing I feel is missing is a graphical management (domain, email, etc.) panel. But despite the many possibilities and features it offers, it's still something I can easily overlook.

**What problems is DigitalOcean solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Digitalocean enables me to bring my projects to life quickly and at the cheapest possible price. This not only saves me time, but also provides financial gain on every project.

  ### 23. Simple and fair cloud hosting

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Debashis O. | Sr. Software Engineer (Backend), Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 23, 2021

**What do you like best about DigitalOcean?**

I started using digital ocean back in 2016, at that time there weren't many products other than the droplets however the simple pricing, easy to spin up VPS caught our eyes at DTMWEB. Fast-forwarding to 2021 Digitalocean has grown incredibility with cutthroat pricing and performance & features needed for most companies.
Every service of DigitalOcean has simple-to-follow pricing that makes the prediction of how something may cost at the end very bleeze.
Most of their service are interconnected as long as they are in the same data server you can use the private connections for security and super-fast performance, which is not limited to only droplets but storage managed databases, and other services as well. Which presents a unique opportunity where if you know what you are doing and willing to sacrifice some hour to configure private networking properly then you can make your hosting journey even cheaper and faster.

**What do you dislike about DigitalOcean?**

* There is no way to initiate a live chat for support.
* No way to see bandwidth usage on products.
* Managed database does not have flexible sizes, the pricing difference is way too large.

**What problems is DigitalOcean solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are hosting most of our cloud solutions on Digitalocean and we are mostly happy with the performance and stability it provides for its price. However the lack of bandwidth monitoring and live support is a big turn off.

  ### 24. Power, functionality, great pricing -- DigitalOcean has it all

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Trevor R. | Coder + Owner/Operator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 03, 2022

**What do you like best about DigitalOcean?**

DigitalOcean is a great alternative to the other big name VPS providers out there. They have consistenly (but not too fast / recklessly) added new products and services to widen their appeal (particularly for less experienced users). Additionally, they are excellent members of the community, offering great tutorials and courses to grow your skill set. I solidly believe in supporting companies like this.

**What do you dislike about DigitalOcean?**

If you are not very familiar with Linux servers you need to be careful with what you are doing as DigitalOcean is not really there is manage every aspect of your server. But that's okay, that's also what makes the pricing great, I think.

**What problems is DigitalOcean solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I needed a basic VPS / hosting provider that I could manage with a 3rd party service (like Cleavr). Doing this for my hosting means I no longer worry about dodgy full-service hosting providers. I get exactly what I expect -- a server that's as fast as what I pay for, nothing less, nothing more.

  ### 25. Greate service + competitive prices

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Luis Pablo G. | CTO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 26, 2022

**What do you like best about DigitalOcean?**

Great prices, simpler solutions than other cloud providers.

**What do you dislike about DigitalOcean?**

The latest price change, forcing us to either pay it or move all our infrastructure to the new cheaper 4 bucks option.

**What problems is DigitalOcean solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm currently using their droplets (managed small VMs), and I'll probably use a couple more in the future.

  ### 26. When i start using Digital ocean there was 0 down time and the flexibility to change your package

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tarek A. | Senior Software Engineer Team Lead, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 24, 2022

**What do you like best about DigitalOcean?**

auto-backup for droplets makes you feel you're safe if you want to do any upgrades or change on your server configuration

**What do you dislike about DigitalOcean?**

you can't downgrade after upgrading your droplets, if you're already upgraded noway to go back.

**What problems is DigitalOcean solving and how is that benefiting you?**

zero down time and flexibility in upgrade and choose what you need

  ### 27. Digital Ocean is Flexible and Transparent for Development and Production

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Richard N. | Primary Architect, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 27, 2022

**What do you like best about DigitalOcean?**

In development, Digital Ocean's droplets are almost completely transparent. Once a droplet is created, almost no thought needs to go into maintenance, outages, or other reliability-based issues. I can log in to the console through SSH, and it's like it's not even there. As a developer, not having to take time out to maintain the development platform speeds the important work along.

**What do you dislike about DigitalOcean?**

Using Digital Ocean's droplet as a development platform has some weaknesses. Without internet access, my development environment is inaccessible. Also, some configuration maintenance is less than transparent, and the documentation is less than complete when dealing with the occasional reliability issue. These are only issues when changes are required, and the DO support team is actually very helpful when that happens.

**What problems is DigitalOcean solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a mobile user developing web applications, having a dedicated development platform that can be accessed wherever I might be on several different devices is handy. I would recommend this to anyone that is doing what I do. If I need an alternate environment, like an older version of the stack, I can stand up a customized droplet to create that environment. Having the ability to provision, use, and destroy servers at will is a power tool. Also, having a development platform that perfectly mirrors the production platform also reduces surprises on deployment. The advanced load-balancing and specialized server features that can become part of the production environment, with the flexibility and scalability that it provides, are going to keep us on this platform.

  ### 28. Best hosting provider ever

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Teemu V. | Senior Art Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 14, 2022

**What do you like best about DigitalOcean?**

Stability and pricing. Good technology behind

**What do you dislike about DigitalOcean?**

UI is too simple, time to time and confusing when try to find some settings. Real-time chat with the customer service would be good.

**What problems is DigitalOcean solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It let me manage all my customers servers sndntiving for me one-stop-shop management window.

  ### 29. An excelent tool for working on cloud

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Arturo M. | Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 14, 2022

**What do you like best about DigitalOcean?**

DO tools are complete and simpler than other tools of other companies

**What do you dislike about DigitalOcean?**

For needs I got, I have no something concrete to say I dislike.

**What problems is DigitalOcean solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In DO I have deployed telegram bots, websites, and web platforms. Besides, I use DO a lot for teaching.

  ### 30. My Digital Ocean Experience

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Handisaputra L. | Self-employed, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 04, 2022

**What do you like best about DigitalOcean?**

I love its balance feature because most of the other cloud providers ask about credit cards. I also love its payment option and I always love to pay with Paypal, but I also prefer GPay.

**What do you dislike about DigitalOcean?**

I wish the price could be cheaper and I also wish for a GPU droplet at an affordable price including the Windows OS option. Honestly, I will use a GPU droplet for mining so it should be profitable for miners. Sometimes, I feel login with authentication is too much and I wish there could be a better option for security.

**Recommendations to others considering DigitalOcean:**

It is quite an affordable price with an easy payment option for most countries through GPay.

**What problems is DigitalOcean solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Honestly, Linux VM needn't change port because it could be scanned with Nmap and It also needn't use Dovecot for IMAP and POP3 because Postfix also has IMAP and POP3 features.

  ### 31. Review for Digital Ocean

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vasanth L. | Technical Associate, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 18, 2022

**What do you like best about DigitalOcean?**

Digital ocean provides excellent features to host the projects with required specifications like operating system, ram capability, disk storage, volume support, access, graphs, and many more such functionalities which are helpful for projects running for production. It also has integrations and supports to various software and can be used for continuous integration and deployment via pipeline tools. The documentation for the digital ocean is very helpful in managing the projects.

**What do you dislike about DigitalOcean?**

The pricing for the digital ocean is relatively high compared to other hosting solutions available in the market. The console available in the digital ocean doesn't operate well and can be improved with its features.

**Recommendations to others considering DigitalOcean:**

People who wish to have a platform for hosting their projects with the best supports and functionalities can use the digital ocean. There are various features like Iaas, Vps, ram, storage, volume, graphs, and many such features that help users manage their projects. The documentation and support available for the digital ocean are very helpful to manage the complexities of the projects.

**What problems is DigitalOcean solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm able to host the projects and run them on production so that multiple users can access the outcome and use the application. It provides all the necessary functionalities like ram, storage, os, volumes, graphs, logs, etc. It also offers excellent support and integrations to other tools like Jenkins and Git that help in continuous integration and deployment. It provides excellent support and documentation to access the device.

Development and production servers for web applications we've created. Object storage, static landing pages.

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ahmad W. | System Administrator And Database Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 19, 2022

**What do you like best about DigitalOcean?**

For digital ocean itself what I like is the cheap server fee, and for the Singapore region area it already exists and for the best vps according to the price

**What do you dislike about DigitalOcean?**

what I don't like is that lately the servers often die without any clarity on digitalocean

**What problems is DigitalOcean solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The most likely thing that helped me the most was the deployment for development in my company

  ### 36. The most user friendly public cloud service provider

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brijesh P. | Associate IT Consultant , Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 29, 2022

**What do you like best about DigitalOcean?**

While I believe AWS provides many more services than Digital Ocean, the advantage Digital Ocean has is that of simplicity. You sign up, add card details and you are pretty much good to go. You can start for as low as $5/month which is very cheap for students or for people who are just getting started.

**What do you dislike about DigitalOcean?**

There is nothing at the moment that I dislike about Digital Ocean. However it could add some inbuilt AI/ML processing tools that could help the community.

**What problems is DigitalOcean solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Deployment simplicity, Access simplicity, one click apps.
Benefits are the clear documentation that is provided, which has saved me so many times even when Im not using digital ocean

  ### 37. Awesome service for a great price

**What problems is DigitalOcean solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Na

  ### 38. I've worked with Droplets and I've found them quite simple to set up.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Noé M. | Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 24, 2022

**What do you like best about DigitalOcean?**

Their minimalistic dashboard and the simplicity of setting up Droplets, networks, and volumes.
The predictable costs, the ease of updating billing data and the constant notifications each time a data center region is not available.

**What do you dislike about DigitalOcean?**

The unstable web application, it tends to disconnect sometimes when I change from one page to another, mostly when I attempt to create new Droplets

**What problems is DigitalOcean solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Deploying VPS instances with pre-configured tools and web hosting control panels.

  ### 39. Amazing service

**What problems is DigitalOcean solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I've been using DigitalOcean for 7 years to host my projects and it's being amazing.

  ### 40. Digital Ocean, a cloud that will keep your pocket happy

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Carlos M. | Senior DevOps Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 02, 2022

**What do you like best about DigitalOcean?**

DigitalOcean is a modern easy to use Cloud provider that will fulfill all your needs without vacuuming all your quarterly budget allowances. It has balanced compute instances, dedicated databases, Kubernetes, and an App platform to get your MVP out as soon as possible.

**What do you dislike about DigitalOcean?**

Nothing, they always ask what we would like to see in the future, what do we miss from other platforms, and then update their offerings :D

**Recommendations to others considering DigitalOcean:**

Have fun. If you need help, DigitalOcean has one of the most extensive HowTo libraries on the internet, and I'm pretty sure that's how most people have found about it

**What problems is DigitalOcean solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm running a home server away from home, with 100%* uptime, without having to deal with noise, the heat, or the home-level ISP issues you would find doing this at home

  ### 41. Enterprise level quality without crammed interface.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andis C. | CTO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 15, 2022

**What do you like best about DigitalOcean?**

The user interface is simple (not too simple) and intuitive.

**What do you dislike about DigitalOcean?**

Sometimes I would like to have some extra functionality but this, of course, contradicts simple UI benefit.

**What problems is DigitalOcean solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Single place to manage virtual infrastructure.

  ### 42. I'm very satisfied with a digital ocean

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rodrigo B. | Web developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 23, 2022

**What do you like best about DigitalOcean?**

I like the ease of creating droplets and apps

**What do you dislike about DigitalOcean?**

On the other hand, I think the cost of the database is expensive

**What problems is DigitalOcean solving and how is that benefiting you?**

deploy my applications in django and python

  ### 43. Decently perfect services, reliable

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 12, 2022

**What do you like best about DigitalOcean?**

The service is very reliable vs others. I love the expandability and wide variety. I primarily use Linux OSs to connect with my droplets. Pricing is very competitive compared to others, like Linode.

**What do you dislike about DigitalOcean?**

I wish I could pay in advance, for example on a yearly basis or do a bulk payment for several months instead of strictly month by month. Other than this, there aren't any other dislikes for the service itself.

**Recommendations to others considering DigitalOcean:**

The service is very expandable. Just know for VPSs you cannot downgrade services, and would have to destroy, recreate, and re-populate the server.

**What problems is DigitalOcean solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My first project was personal learning of a cloud environment. After this evolved I started expanding looking for a personal storage medium that I controlled, away from Dropbox or Google drive. Then I wanted to create a VPN tunnel for myself when connecting to open hotspots out and about. Everything I have done initially has been personal, but I have suggested it to friends for business purposes because of their expandability. I have used it for a period of time when I was assisting with the technology aspects of a custom lure business. I also for a period was working on my own coin store, which has since shut down.

  ### 44. One of the best at this price

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Parmanand J. | Web Developer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 13, 2022

**What do you like best about DigitalOcean?**

1) Pricing
2) Marketplace while creating droplets

**What do you dislike about DigitalOcean?**

When facing any issue, the support team will take long time as expected

**What problems is DigitalOcean solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The major service I am using from the digital ocean is VPS since 2014 & we are using 21 domains on this.

**Official Response from Faiza Zia:**

> Hi Parmanand,

  ### 45. Best hosting platform i’ve tried so far

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kristiyan T. | Technical Support Lead, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 23, 2022

**What do you like best about DigitalOcean?**

Control panel. It is full of functionality and helpful tools.

**What do you dislike about DigitalOcean?**

Waiting times for deployment of dropplets.

**What problems is DigitalOcean solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helping me learn about hosting.

  ### 46. Best VPS Provider

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Karthick K. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2022

**What do you like best about DigitalOcean?**

As a software development company specializing in Web Application Development, servers are key to success. DigitalOcean VPS is easy to start and maintain.

**What do you dislike about DigitalOcean?**

The backup cost is too high. It can be reduced and may be incorporated with the DO Spaces

**What problems is DigitalOcean solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use their VPS - Droplets. I invoke a new droplet for each project. It helps me to keep organized.

  ### 47. Digital Ocean, I won't trade for another

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jeferson C. | Progrador de PHP, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 02, 2022

**What do you like best about DigitalOcean?**

Stability. Since I migrated my vps over 6 years ago, I haven't had any issues. But the support is also good. And the way I can scale my vps also appeals to me.

**What do you dislike about DigitalOcean?**

What I don't like is that the price is in Dollars, and as I'm from Brazil, it varies a lot.

**Recommendations to others considering DigitalOcean:**

If you need something reliable for small businesses, Digital Ocean is the best solution.

**What problems is DigitalOcean solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In Brazil, the cost of accommodation is expensive and offers few resources. When we talk about VPSs, prices go up even more. Therefore, even paying in dollars, it is still advantageous to have Digital Ocean. Today I host my systems with VPSs and I have the freedom to shape as I want.

  ### 48. Simple, user friendly and highly reliable

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David Y. | Senior Cyber Security Consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 02, 2022

**What do you like best about DigitalOcean?**

* The web interface is very intuitive and pleasant to look at.
* Maintenance is generally performed without service disruption -- I've had a droplets run for years without needing a restart.
* Pricing is reasonable and affordable.
* DO has expanded their service offering from just Droplets and continues to grow.

**What do you dislike about DigitalOcean?**

* Not as fully featured as AWS, Azure or GCP
* Cheapest droplet has been $5 for a decade despite increases in computing power. A cheaper, less powerful minimum would be nice.

**What problems is DigitalOcean solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's a nice way to spin up virtual machines for hosting web applications and other services, on either a temporary or permanent basis. It's my service provider of choice for simple tasks.

  ### 49. Cloud infrastructure provider for web applications

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ashok D. | Ruby on Rails Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 09, 2022

**What do you like best about DigitalOcean?**

it gives a stand-alone server with whatever your need of configuration, the best thing about this is that it's fixed price so you don't need to worry about billing, it won't exceed the cost and it will always be of fixed cost.

**What do you dislike about DigitalOcean?**

its lowest-cost server are not very good for the docker deployed application, it just won't work properly, even for the staging environment you have to purchase a bit of cost server, unlike Heroku which gives free of cost server for staging and testing applications.

**Recommendations to others considering DigitalOcean:**

- if you are looking for fixed cost servers this is the best suited for you
- stand-alone dedicated server
- 1 click scale up & down possible with known cost

**What problems is DigitalOcean solving and how is that benefiting you?**

make my application available throughout the globe. as I get stand-alone dedicated servers i won't need to worry about the performance, also I can scale my server with just one click with the known fixed cost.

  ### 50. Easy to use cloud provider with predictable pricing

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** César G. | Senior Software Development Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 23, 2021

**What do you like best about DigitalOcean?**

Their administration dashboard is far more user-friendly than other cloud providers, making it easier to administer to users with less technical expertise. Compared to Amazon and Azure, their pricing is very predictable since they don't bill by stuff that is hard to control, like IOPS or API usage.

Another plus is that DO offers managed Kubernetes and databases, thus making it possible to deploy a platform without direct access to the instances.

**What do you dislike about DigitalOcean?**

Their object storage tokens are account-wide, and any service with a token can access any bucket without a way to restrict it, making it a security nightmare in case a service is compromised. Another thing is that their container registry pricing tiers are too expensive, compared to just deploying a small droplet with a Docker registry and storing the images in their object storage.

**What problems is DigitalOcean solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use DigitalOcean as an off-site backup and disaster recovery if our primary cloud provider (Linode) goes down. Their managed databases make it simple to keep a replica of our database in case something goes wrong.
