# Is DigitalOcean still competing as a cloud provider or as a developer platform?

Most people compare DigitalOcean with traditional cloud providers like AWS or Azure.

But the main appeal often seems different - simplicity, predictable pricing, and developer-friendly workflows.

That almost makes it feel closer to a developer infrastructure platform than a typical enterprise cloud provider.
