What do you like best about vFairs?

I really appreciated how the vFairs team was extremely helpful and fully engaged. They allowed us to be as hands-on as we preferred but were always eager to help. The training provided was good, and they answered inquiries and questions in a timely manner, providing live support during the event. I liked the ease of email communications, the built-in surveys, games, and reporting. The analytics dashboard was very useful for tracking registration numbers, allowing us to see registrations in real time grouped by registrant type and get a general overview of how registration was progressing. Also, the initial setup of vFairs was very easy; I participated and built a lot of it myself, and provided continuing modifications. We used features like online registration support, agenda management, speaker profiles, networking between attendees, streamlined communication to registrants, a mobile app, session control, and sophisticated reporting. What do you dislike about vFairs?

We could get more notification when they were doing updates to their system. This was frustrating during the build. The size limitation on handouts is small for some of the presentations, and the system wasn't designed to accommodate downloads. I think that should be a customizable feature. What I liked best about Whova at the AADPRT conference was the agenda management. Being able to build out a personalized schedule in advance made it so much easier to plan which sessions to attend. The real-time updates were a huge help too. When sessions ran long or rooms changed, I always knew right away. My one frustration with Whova was the notification dots. There were red indicators constantly appearing throughout the app, and as someone who likes to have everything cleared and accounted for, it was hard to ignore them. What do you like best about Eventee?

What I like most about Eventee is how easy it is to manage and communicate the conference program.

For ML Prague, the agenda is clean and easy to follow. Our audience is quite technical, so it’s important that people can quickly scan sessions and plan their day without overthinking it.

The Q&A feature is especially valuable for me. Questions are ranked by votes, which improves the interaction with speakers and makes sessions more interesting. Instead of passing around a microphone, you get relevant questions that actually add value, and you can moderate them.

Session feedback is another key part. Right after each talk, we get a clear signal of what worked and what didn’t. As a program organizer, that’s very useful to understand which topics resonate and improve future editions.

What do you dislike about Eventee?

Eventee solves some of the typical headaches of running a conference program.

It makes the agenda easy to navigate, improves how attendees interact with speakers through Q&A, and gives immediate feedback after each session.

Also, having everything in the app means we don’t need to print the agenda. That alone saves a lot of time coordinating with designers, printing, and logistics, which is something you don’t really think about until you’ve had to deal with it.

I really appreciate the ability to do on-site, on-demand name badge printing because it allows edits in real time for guests who change their titles or register late. This is helpful because I don’t need to shut down registration early; people can register until moments before they arrive, which allows for a larger guest turnout and less work for me leading up to the event. I like that Blackthorn Events integrates with Salesforce and utilizes the event wizard portion. The integration with Salesforce is scalable across our entire footprint, which is five states and 25 account managers. It helps us stay organized and utilize existing information like phone numbers and email addresses to maintain contacts. We use it as an iframe on our WordPress-based website, which means we no longer have to post events to multiple websites. We set them up in Salesforce, and they feed automatically to the iframe. The application covers most of the modules needed for an event, making the whole process smoother. It also helped us simplify and automate event marketing communications, manage on-site operations such as check-ins and meetings, and connect with other marketing tools we were using. The setup was very smooth and quick, taking just three to four days, and the initial setup was easy. They have an option for education tracks that doesn't really make sense in the real world, especially when it comes to scheduling and assigning agendas. Their pricing is a bit complicated. You get a price for an event, but it comes with stipulations that attendees cannot access for a certain period unless you pay more. Their pricing has gone up $1000 in just 6 months. The registration process is very complicated, and the features for uploading attendees and assigning classes are pretty limited, resulting in a lot of manual work. What do you like best about Amego?

My favorite aspect of Amego is that it allows me to create, manage and fill in timelines, assign tasks to my team, track projects, and easily communicate between different departments as a project manager. I like how organized Momentus Technologies makes my day-to-day feel. The system is easy to use, and I love creating my 'View' pages. Since I work in multiple buildings with a plethora of rooms, it helps keep event details in order. The 'View' feature is especially helpful as it allows me to download only the most necessary information for specific duties, making it easier to manage assignments across our big team. Sequel is incredibly lightweight and easy to integrate directly into our landing page, which was a big win for us. The embedded experience feels native and well-designed, which matters a lot when you're putting your brand on the line.

What really stands out, though, is reliability. Live events carry a ton of pressure. There's no room for things to go wrong when you're live in front of an audience, and Sequel has never let us down. As a designer, the biggest gap is customization. Sequel gives you a clean out-of-the-box experience, but when you want to go deeper with branding and layout control, the options feel limiting. More granular design controls would make a huge difference for teams that care about a polished, on-brand event experience.

On the production side, the showrunning and backstage editing features could use more depth. When you're managing a live event, you need flexibility in the moment, and there are times where the controls feel a bit restrictive for more complex productions.

Pricing is also worth mentioning. It's reasonable at entry level, but the jump in cost as your needs grow can feel steep, especially for smaller teams that are scaling up their event program. I love how clean the layout is. It makes it easier for customers to see all the information they need about our event. It looks very professional and helps our event feel more legitimate. Overall, I have no complaints. One thing that would be nice to have in the overview section is the ability to place a photograph. I love keeping the logo in the main header, but it would be great to also add an image further down the page. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Purplepass solving and how is that benefiting you?

The main problem Purplepass solves for us is being able to see ticket sales in real time, instead of having to wait for someone else to provide that information. We can also get the ticket page up much faster on our end, rather than working with an in-house ticket team and having to wait because we’re not always their main priority.
