**What do you like best about Simpro?**

The Support team is assessable and real people you can talk to. I like how they manage their idea portal as well.

**What do you dislike about Simpro?**

Integration with CRM is difficult as in simpro our clients are sites and have multiple contacts, while in the crm a contact can only be related to one site.

**What problems is Simpro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Managing customer service from the quoting process to invoicing.

**What do you like best about Simpro?**

The whole of the system has been designed to allow contractors to efficiently carry out their work, whether that's quoting for a tender, running a project or actually using Simpro's mobile app.

**What do you dislike about Simpro?**

Nothing to dislike, as all submitted ideas get attended to. Some hick-ups with their servers every now and again however it is a small issue.

**Recommendations to others considering Simpro:**

Try it!!! You'll never go back to your old system

Our workflow has completely changed since the use of Simpro. It helped us to streamline our processes and allowed us to attend to enquiries/queries a lot quicker.

**What do you like best about Simpro?**

The most helpful are the people who work there!  I had an issue trying to upload some files and they were so helpful and patient.

Simpro is also easy to use and finding help online is super simple.

**What do you dislike about Simpro?**

I wouldn't say I dislike anything. 

Perhaps just a couple of small modifications to the scheduling screen to help see more details on scheduled jobs (for example, click on a job to open it, rather than right-click, edit job).

**What problems is Simpro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Updating price lists.  

We can export existing price lists, change them and re-import them with ease

This makes us more productive as we are not having to refer to hard copies of suppliers price lists.

**What do you like best about Simpro?**

It takes much of the load off Quickbooks, and gives us much more freedom in billing, invoicing, etc... The contact database is much more usable compared to our old CRM and to QBO as well. Linked items in the Catalog is a very handy and useful feature.

**What do you dislike about Simpro?**

A few of the deficiencies we have found so far are as follows (several of which have been submitted to SimPRO as a change for consideration): 

Sites can only be 1 level deep. This is unrealistic in a contracting world where a customer may have businesses they service, each of which may have several sites, and several rooms within each site to keep track of. Having sites be multi-level deep would be a great improvement. 

Much of the terminology is not standard US terminology. It would be easier to transition if the US version of the product were to use standard US terminology. (i.e. Bill vs. Invoice, Trade Price vs. Dealer Cost, Labor Rates vs. Schedule Rates and Fit Times, etc...). 

When entering an item into the Catalog, there is no field available to track a Manufacturer's Part Number (which is often different than the actual model number itself). This is common practice, and is supported on other platforms. 

Finally, training - it was done by the "firehose method". We were told about every single option and way of doing things. It was overwhelming. Granted, it's nice to have different ways to do things, but what we really needed was guidance to get us up and running in OUR SPECIFIC CIRCUMSTANCE, knowing that we could make changes along the way as we learned our needs better, and learned the system better. For example, if you contact Microsoft about a certain issue, they'll tell you exactly how to access the resource required to address this issue. We all know there are plenty of ways to navigate Windows or Office to access different things, but they have the good sense to tell us ONE way that works every time. As we learn the platform, no matter what it is, we all learn shortcuts and different ways of doing things. Trying to teach everything in an initial training is folly at best, and makes the process extremely painful and more difficult than necessary. Specifically, the notion of using Cost Centers was foreign to us, and this was not adequately explained during training. This is foundational to the creation of Quotes/Invoices/Jobs in SimPRO. Much work needs to be done to improve the onboarding process.

**Recommendations to others considering Simpro:**

Do your research. They are one of a very few that seem to have a good understanding of the contracting world, so they may be a good fit for your business.

**What problems is Simpro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The accounting side seems to be easier to use than QBO. The mobile app is definitely an upgrade for us, and for our techs in the field. It's a bit more than we're used to in terms of setup and maintenance of data, but I think it's going to be worth it in the end, once we are fully up and running at our peak ,

Simpro has simplified processes that we previously struggled with such as scheduling team members for upcoming jobs. Viewing our profit and loss margins on our jobs. This has helped our company hone in on weaknesses to help us constantly improve our methods of working.

**What do you dislike about Simpro?**

I believe the delivery docket system under forms could use some improvement. A few features in forms could be improved to help streamline our way of working. I would like to see a feature where you could turn previously ordered items to be searchable that are not catalogued.

SimPRO will help manage your business to increase efficiency and increase productivity

The main problem we've solved here is our profit margins on our jobs. This has helped us improve internal ways of working to increase production. It has also helped us to decide whether to invest in further tooling by checking out profit and loss margins for certain jobs.

**What do you like best about Simpro?**

There are so many aspects to Simpro that we love i.e.Stock management, reporting and user workability but I find the support and video tutorials the most beneficial.

**What do you dislike about Simpro?**

I think it's important to communicate with the guys on what still needs to be done for specific jobs and there is a module to add tasks. Tasks don't work to well for us at the moment, because its not visible straight away on a dashboard, however as they work on that more it will be more useful.

**Recommendations to others considering Simpro:**

Simpro is the best software available for job management. I would 100% recommend the training too, it's worth getting someone to help set up.

**What problems is Simpro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The reporting brings us the most benefit, we're able to report on so many things which help us manage our business and staff so much better. We're also able to automate these which saves us on time.

**What do you like best about Simpro?**

The scheduling has been a great asset for our time management. Purchase orders and the auto receipting on invoices is a huge time saver.

**What do you dislike about Simpro?**

A couple of glitches in how stock in job sheets is managed, and technician's travel logging would be good.  Also some sort of SMS for when the technition is on their way like service mate.

**What problems is Simpro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The use of purchase orders has been a huge benefit for efficiency and stock monitoring.  This has also saved a lot of time processing jobs.  
The prebuilds and ground plan integration works well also.

I think it is very easy to use, they have continuous improvement and the support team is very helpful and kind

I feel like I'd need better guidance on how we can make the system more suitable for our business, however, we weren't able to find someone from their team that can do that. 

This leads us to keep doing small improvements without the ability to look at the bigger picture.

Try one of their demos and make sure that is suitable for your business. I believe Simpro is a great tool and they give great support.

I have submitted some ideas and they are underway to being approved. It is very good to see our ideas being voted and implemented by Simpro as it shows that they care about their clients and that they believe in the power of collaboration.

How smooth and easy it is to use Simpro, speed and availability are always first class. The help function is good, and I like the new reporting tools.

The process for getting changes actioned. I'm not too fond of the voting system as I feel a lot of good suggestions for all customers gets missed or delayed

**What problems is Simpro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a company, our customer engagement has definitely improved as we utilize Simpro, we get information to the customer far quicker including reports, quotes etc.

We had nothing before SimPro, the system works well, and does all we need, I like that the program is updated regularly, and we use the scheduling feature for every job.

**What do you dislike about Simpro?**

Being able to move the time when a mechanic uses the wrong job number. I would also like to be able to add an activity to a job number as a sub-item. The mobile app could use some improvements so the mechanics dont cross jobs with the wrong info.

I did my homework before getting SimPro, THis product has great support, you will get the help you need.

SimPro is keeping all the work we need to do visible, we are billing work and making sure the customer is being served, and the leads function helps the sales side keep track of new work.

Allocating jobs to staff in the field and seeing the job starting, progressing and completing . Having a job loaded in the system avoids accidentally losing a real job

**What do you dislike about Simpro?**

Being unable to download multiple pictures in one step. Each image has to be opened individually and then downloaded to the computer. I don't. always need to view them prior to downloading

**What problems is Simpro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keeping track of individual job attendances and costs per visit. Tracking, recording and storing on and off-site times. This has been a cost capture that reflects our actual cost per job.

Handles Job management like a star! Easy to follow.

**What do you dislike about Simpro?**

It is horrendously click-heavy, and other functions such as simple CRM are unintelligible. The reporting is the antithesis of agile - complex and static. It can provide a semblance of what you need but cannot produce filterable reporting amongst others

It is brilliant at job management - case management, and stock control.

Pre-builds are probably what I use most. Makes quoting quicker. If I could get the rest of the management team into using technology it would make the business alot more efficient!

Probably the per-user licence costs - adds up for a small business with several field staff. Not all are foremen but sometimes do jobs on their own so would be good if everyone could have access but too costly @ $18 per person.
It would also be good if the mobile version was more suited so that photos could be added more simply when the manager is out looking at a job and doing a quote.

**What problems is Simpro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are able to track job hours and costs now and record what staff members did each job. Better for keeping all the information about each job in one place and having a record and history about each job.

The jobs interface is very pleasant to work with, and the costings function covers everything/ is easy to use once you get the hang of it.

**What do you dislike about Simpro?**

Certain panes don't open their own tab, so you can't easily switch back to them. Some filters that I hoped would be easy to use, or present, aren't there. The BI reporting is so slow it's unusable.

The biggest improvement from our previous system has been being able to have separate sites and customers, with linked relationships. This helps us model the more complex relationships between clients and customer assets.

Mobile app needs alot of work yet have not fully brought our company to using this due to limitations.   Would like better ability to customize forms for auto processing monthly invoices. An integrated solution that allows leads to be converted to quotes then to jobs and then fully invoiced with simple and straightforward, logical workflows. We are a complex business and whilst there are competitors to simPRO none could fully demonstrate everything we required.

Scheduling has improved for PPM based works but there is scope for greater flexibility. There is no native ability to complete regular vehicle checks - there is a work-around but this is less than ideal.

We have greater visibility of work, improved internal communications and significantly improved communications with customers which are now more consistent than ever.

Generates quotes, jobs, invoices, has a great system for controlling spare parts, adequate interface for field technicians, is fully customisable, applications to control company owned vehicles and assets I.e special tools etc.

There are certain functions it doesn’t do which other people complain about but to me they certainly aren’t deal breakers, but in saying that there are ways and means of controlling those problems. The biggest dislike for me is that you always get one or two people that don’t seem to want to get their head around the logic of how it works, it is a tool to help everyone complete their work in a timely manner in which it does. Learn to use the tool.

SimPro is a very flexible and robust job costing system. From an administration point of view, I particularly enjoy the Security Group feature whereby you can enable or disable access to feature by role. Further to this, i find that the project overview is a great snapshot of job progress and profitability.

**What do you dislike about Simpro?**

SimPro is a little short on reports and when you have created custom fields these tend to garble the information if you use the BI tool.

**What problems is Simpro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

True labor content and accurate costing of labor and parts/external contractor costs are now being gathered correctly and in a timely manner. Automatic triggers and status codes create notifications so that developing issues are reported before they get out of hand.

For the companies i have worked for using SimPro, there has been a significant gain in transparency for both the physical operation and the financial situation of the jobs and the company as a whole.

That's it unreliable, clears data randomly, and incentivises company's to push more and more admin work onto people in the field.

No problems. It's just a horrible experience in general. If it worked the way it should that would be great but far too often it clears hours of work with no way to recover it. nothing comes to mind. maybe, fairely good up time.

almost everything, its really ridgid, and server side intensive. it was probably cutting edge 10 years ago. 

Really lazy duplicate form submission protection. field staff are forever wiping out each others test results. you can tell its not design to have multiple technicians on the one site, dealing with the same list of assets. 

if i had to pick 1 thing that drive me mental.... insert field in all sections are really limited. 

and the scheduler. from the 90's!! by now 2 user should be able to view the same schedule and see each others changes in real time.. common! 

Another thing i hate, is how a failed asset must be linked to a failure point before it can be quoted. this should be optional

If your currently using paper job sheets and booking all your jobs out of an excell spread sheet.... simPro is better than that, but only just. don't expect any support ticket to be resolved.... at the end of the day, its a product servicing 1000's of builds, nothing gets changed or fixed for "you". If it annoys enough people they will get to it with a major update eventually. 

If you want something that is barely functional as is. and gets expenentialy more expensive as you buy all the addons that make it actually work and as your employee list grows.... then simpro is for you.
Otherwise, keep shopping around.

additionally, if you decline to participate in a review giving them the fair warning that it wont be a good one.... they will keep badgering you to do it until you do.:)

Flexibility there are often multiple ways to achieve the results required

**What do you dislike about Simpro?**

At the point of writing, this review Parts are allocated to the Job rather than allocated to assets being worked on, which is the most disapointing thing about the software as it is an asset management system. They do have an ideas portal and they do make changes frequently so this may change in the future. We also find the addons such as SimTrak and EForms heavily overpriced, we would have liked these features to keep everything in one place but we can get them half the price elsewhere.

**Recommendations to others considering Simpro:**

I brought the SimPro software into our business in an effort to reduce manual data entry, improved stock control and asset management - it significantly changed our business and the further we progressed with it's implementation the more options and efficiency improvements became apparent. We have saved on time, money and we need less staff to perform the unnecessary task - we let SimPro handle that so our people can be put to better use.

**What problems is Simpro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Significant reduction in manual data entry - and we were able to provide our Office Staff, Field Base Staff and Customers access to the same platform communicating together, whereas previously we were having to API different programs together, which was unstable.

**What do you like best about Simpro?**

I'm a field engineer, it's great for keeping track of my work schedule and is quite straightforward to use

**What do you dislike about Simpro?**

It suffers from a lot of bugs and updates to fix them are very slow at being rolled out. This is on both the Connect and eForms apps. For example, the Connect app screws up if you use the Task functions, also you cannot download PDF attachments on jobs. This issue has been around for it over 6 months now and still hasn't been fixed. However the SimPro Mobile app is usually ok and very rarely goes wrong, I tend to use that app more often now but as far as I'm aware an additional cost has to be payed in order to use it.

**Recommendations to others considering Simpro:**

Be prepared for some frustrations when it doesnt work properly

**What problems is Simpro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Compared with the last system my company was using, Teseract, this is much easier and quicker to use.

**What do you like best about Simpro?**

Our organization appreciates the ability to quote, create a schedule, and invoice that Job all in a matter of minutes compared to hand typing everything over and over again or losing track of time. Projects are also easy to manage in terms of creating stock for a specific cost center, and you can easily view the materials that you have allocated to the project on the project overview function. It's fantastic software.

**What do you dislike about Simpro?**

Cons: There are  major areas that simPRO can improve, eg - The stock value report which reflects stock that we nolonger have, stock  that we have already invoiced. We would also do with a stock movement report which is more transparent than that stock history function. simPRO's employees portal  is a wonderful feature except the fact that the technicians  have access to all storage devices and not only their restricted storage device. It would be better if they can act quickly especially when an issue has been escalated to their development team it takes months for the issue to be addressed which is quite frustrating.

**What problems is Simpro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Putting notes on the jobs and PO's makes it easy for us to see where we are coming from and where we are going on a job.

**What do you like best about Simpro?**

We chose simPRO over similar packages because it uniquely offered stock, multi-company and multi-currency capability. Provided that you're in a relevant industry, you do the legwork and due diligence and take the time to properly and carefully implement simPRO, it will work well. Very well. But you will need to study your processes and workflows and analyse where they differ from simPRO's own inflexible interpretation of how a service management workflow should operate.

It has given us much more insight into the profitability on each job, and we have much more visibility on the position of the business and where we can make ongoing improvement. In short, it has transformed the way we work, and for the better.

Whilst not encouraged, customisation is possible, and we found that aspect to be very fairly priced and quickly turned around.

We are also very happy with the support, whether that's a quick chat message, or a more indepth support request.

**What do you dislike about Simpro?**

The major downside for us is that we're not in one of simPRO's intended customer markets: as such, we have bent and twisted both simPRO and our own processes, sometimes to breaking point, in order to make it work for us.

I also feel that some of the 'improvements' rolled out are actually a step backwards, which can be very frustrating, and I wish it was possibly to easily connect our data to external reporting and data analysis packages.

**What problems is Simpro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed to optimise the scheduling of our service engineers, and speed up the 'end to end' process from receiving the go-ahead for a job through to invoicing and getting paid on time. In the two and a half years since we went live, all of these objectives have been met.

I use Simpro mostly for quoting. The ability to complete take offs in Groundplan, then push straight into a Simpro quote is pretty awesome

**What do you dislike about Simpro?**

There are a number of screens where you can see what is in the quote, but none of them give a good overall picture. If something in a quote needs editing, you have to go into each cost centre individually. Can be quite tedious.

We are currently using it to try and get more accuracy in our quotes, and speed up the process.

**What do you like best about Simpro?**

Simpro is a great program to use for service-based work. The use of a phone app for our Technicians makes it easy for them to know what sites they need to go to and the work they need to complete. It is also convenient being able to store all past work history, including past invoices, site photos, job notes etc. Overall, a wonderful program.

**What do you dislike about Simpro?**

It is sometimes challenging to maximize every feature of Simpro as it is a very comprehensive software. Setting up some of the features can require a fair portion of time and trial and error to get them up and running.

**Recommendations to others considering Simpro:**

Definitely worth the effort!

**What problems is Simpro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Simpro solves poor communication lines with our service technicians and allows jobs to be turned into Invoices very quickly. 
It is easy to create reports to find out the value of each of our customers. It is also very straightforward to look up Supplier Purchase orders and to cross-check these.

**What do you like best about Simpro?**

Once the initial set-up is done to add catalogues and pre-build custom prices for jobs it makes the job of quoting much easier and the customer gets a much better in-depth quote.  Once we start using it for jobs too it will help us to track the products we need for jobs.

**What do you dislike about Simpro?**

It is complex so takes quite a bit of work to get started. Had a couple of problems at the start but support has been very helpful.  Doesn't quite take over from a CRM.  We didn't use a lot of the functionality of the CRM so this didn't matter.  I would guess if you was using the CRM heavily then you might need to have the two systems.

**What problems is Simpro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helps to make quoting easier.  Job management will be a lot better and the ability to track stock.  leads are all pulled in from our webform so we've scrapped zoho crm - we had issues with the support from zoho.

- The availability to track all jobs from initial planning right through to the invoicing stage. 
- The user interface is very easy to use, the layout is simple and the menu's can be navigated easily.
- Training that is provided for the implementation stage is second to none. No question was too stupid, and I felt like the time was taken to show me everything I needed to be able to operate simPRO.

**What do you dislike about Simpro?**

- Creating large amounts of recurring jobs can be very time-consuming.
-  A number of engineers have requested a travel home button after they have finished a job.

- Tracking the progress of jobs.
- Setting dates for jobs, being able to see what jobs are coming up and ones that have already been completed—enabling us to keep our customers up-to-date on jobs. 
- Keeping track of complete and invoiced jobs and how much each job is worth.

We are now able to analyze cost control and understand where mistakes may have occurred at the point of costing / quoting 
The accessibility to project information is fantastic, and as long as you have an internet connection, you can work from anywhere.
