**What do you like best about Simpro?**

I'm a field engineer, it's great for keeping track of my work schedule and is quite straightforward to use

**What do you dislike about Simpro?**

It suffers from a lot of bugs and updates to fix them are very slow at being rolled out. This is on both the Connect and eForms apps. For example, the Connect app screws up if you use the Task functions, also you cannot download PDF attachments on jobs. This issue has been around for it over 6 months now and still hasn't been fixed. However the SimPro Mobile app is usually ok and very rarely goes wrong, I tend to use that app more often now but as far as I'm aware an additional cost has to be payed in order to use it.

**Recommendations to others considering Simpro:**

Be prepared for some frustrations when it doesnt work properly

**What problems is Simpro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Compared with the last system my company was using, Teseract, this is much easier and quicker to use.

**What do you like best about Simpro?**

Our organization appreciates the ability to quote, create a schedule, and invoice that Job all in a matter of minutes compared to hand typing everything over and over again or losing track of time. Projects are also easy to manage in terms of creating stock for a specific cost center, and you can easily view the materials that you have allocated to the project on the project overview function. It's fantastic software.

**What do you dislike about Simpro?**

Cons: There are  major areas that simPRO can improve, eg - The stock value report which reflects stock that we nolonger have, stock  that we have already invoiced. We would also do with a stock movement report which is more transparent than that stock history function. simPRO's employees portal  is a wonderful feature except the fact that the technicians  have access to all storage devices and not only their restricted storage device. It would be better if they can act quickly especially when an issue has been escalated to their development team it takes months for the issue to be addressed which is quite frustrating.

**What problems is Simpro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Putting notes on the jobs and PO's makes it easy for us to see where we are coming from and where we are going on a job.

**What do you like best about Simpro?**

We chose simPRO over similar packages because it uniquely offered stock, multi-company and multi-currency capability. Provided that you're in a relevant industry, you do the legwork and due diligence and take the time to properly and carefully implement simPRO, it will work well. Very well. But you will need to study your processes and workflows and analyse where they differ from simPRO's own inflexible interpretation of how a service management workflow should operate.

It has given us much more insight into the profitability on each job, and we have much more visibility on the position of the business and where we can make ongoing improvement. In short, it has transformed the way we work, and for the better.

Whilst not encouraged, customisation is possible, and we found that aspect to be very fairly priced and quickly turned around.

We are also very happy with the support, whether that's a quick chat message, or a more indepth support request.

**What do you dislike about Simpro?**

The major downside for us is that we're not in one of simPRO's intended customer markets: as such, we have bent and twisted both simPRO and our own processes, sometimes to breaking point, in order to make it work for us.

I also feel that some of the 'improvements' rolled out are actually a step backwards, which can be very frustrating, and I wish it was possibly to easily connect our data to external reporting and data analysis packages.

**What problems is Simpro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed to optimise the scheduling of our service engineers, and speed up the 'end to end' process from receiving the go-ahead for a job through to invoicing and getting paid on time. In the two and a half years since we went live, all of these objectives have been met.

**What do you like best about Simpro?**

I use Simpro mostly for quoting. The ability to complete take offs in Groundplan, then push straight into a Simpro quote is pretty awesome

**What do you dislike about Simpro?**

There are a number of screens where you can see what is in the quote, but none of them give a good overall picture. If something in a quote needs editing, you have to go into each cost centre individually. Can be quite tedious.

**What problems is Simpro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are currently using it to try and get more accuracy in our quotes, and speed up the process.

**What do you like best about Simpro?**

Simpro is a great program to use for service-based work. The use of a phone app for our Technicians makes it easy for them to know what sites they need to go to and the work they need to complete. It is also convenient being able to store all past work history, including past invoices, site photos, job notes etc. Overall, a wonderful program.

**What do you dislike about Simpro?**

It is sometimes challenging to maximize every feature of Simpro as it is a very comprehensive software. Setting up some of the features can require a fair portion of time and trial and error to get them up and running.

**Recommendations to others considering Simpro:**

Definitely worth the effort!

**What problems is Simpro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Simpro solves poor communication lines with our service technicians and allows jobs to be turned into Invoices very quickly. 
It is easy to create reports to find out the value of each of our customers. It is also very straightforward to look up Supplier Purchase orders and to cross-check these.

**What do you like best about Simpro?**

Once the initial set-up is done to add catalogues and pre-build custom prices for jobs it makes the job of quoting much easier and the customer gets a much better in-depth quote.  Once we start using it for jobs too it will help us to track the products we need for jobs.

**What do you dislike about Simpro?**

It is complex so takes quite a bit of work to get started. Had a couple of problems at the start but support has been very helpful.  Doesn't quite take over from a CRM.  We didn't use a lot of the functionality of the CRM so this didn't matter.  I would guess if you was using the CRM heavily then you might need to have the two systems.

**What problems is Simpro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helps to make quoting easier.  Job management will be a lot better and the ability to track stock.  leads are all pulled in from our webform so we've scrapped zoho crm - we had issues with the support from zoho.

**What do you like best about Simpro?**

- The availability to track all jobs from initial planning right through to the invoicing stage. 
- The user interface is very easy to use, the layout is simple and the menu's can be navigated easily.
- Training that is provided for the implementation stage is second to none. No question was too stupid, and I felt like the time was taken to show me everything I needed to be able to operate simPRO.

**What do you dislike about Simpro?**

- Creating large amounts of recurring jobs can be very time-consuming.
-  A number of engineers have requested a travel home button after they have finished a job.

**What problems is Simpro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- Tracking the progress of jobs.
- Setting dates for jobs, being able to see what jobs are coming up and ones that have already been completed—enabling us to keep our customers up-to-date on jobs. 
- Keeping track of complete and invoiced jobs and how much each job is worth.

simPRO enables all project information to be in one place and easily accessible by the entire team.
The efficiency it has brought to our process is outstanding and has eliminated the requirement for further recruitment.

The scheduling is a little clunky 
It would be great if there were a way to apply travel / fuel costs to projects and operatives

Absolutely go for it you will not be disappointed 
It's not easy to make the change however, once you have completed your build and start to use simPRO,  you very quickly begin to think how you ever got by without it!

Everyone is accountable 
We are now able to analyze cost control and understand where mistakes may have occurred at the point of costing / quoting 
The accessibility to project information is fantastic, and as long as you have an internet connection, you can work from anywhere.

The idea of Simpro is great - what they have tried to achieve is admirable.

**What do you dislike about Simpro?**

Scheduling, visibility of teams, reporting, how hard it is to do anything.

**Recommendations to others considering Simpro:**

Run!  In all seriousness, the sales team do a great sell job, they avoid questions or gloss over what it can't do, they over sell the ease of use.  Despite spending thousands of dollars in set up and training, we are no better off, in fact potentially worse than we were when we started.  I sincerely wish we had never heard of Simpro.

**What problems is Simpro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were trying to get more visibility of our business.  Trying to track financial viability of Jobs with more accuracy and provide forecasting off recurring jobs.  As yet we are not solving ANY issues with Simpro, it has just created more issues for us.

**What do you like best about Simpro?**

Flexible system, that has allowed us to scale our business with ease. simPRO are open to development based on customer feedback, whilst keeping to product good at what it is designed to do.

**What do you dislike about Simpro?**

Can be difficult to train staff, as there's many different ways to get to the same result. Also would like to see more development of the contractor and customer portals.

**Recommendations to others considering Simpro:**

Like most complex systems, 95% of the success of using simPRO is in the initial set up phase, and dedicating the correct people within the your organisation to make it a success.

**What problems is Simpro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Automation of work flow management from job creation to customer and contractor invoicing. We've been able to scale from 100s of jobs to many thousands of jobs per year now by creating efficient work flows, without having to hire lots of people to manage the volume of data.

Having all of our data in one place, being able to organise the engineers through the calendar. Being able to track leads through to invoice and seeing the reports.

**What do you dislike about Simpro?**

Data feed was sold to us as the magic thing that would work to keep our catalogue up to date but it doesn't work. Some quirky stuff like having to save and finish a quote request before the forms tab appear.

**Recommendations to others considering Simpro:**

Its a one stop shop for organising your labour force to and managig your business. 90% of it works brilliantly, datafeed is pants and that was a big part of us buying simpro.

**What problems is Simpro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Time saving on quoting project work. Less phone calls from engineers as all info is on simpro.

We have been using simPRO for over 6 years now and love it. We did a lot of research before deciding on going with simPRO and at the time it ticked all of our boxes for what we were looking for - no other system came close. The more we have used it, the better it has become. What we like most is the transparency on jobs and the history it holds, then continual improvements.

I like maintenance planner, all the information has been input and now I don't have to search for when services are due. Also the training is very good

**What do you dislike about Simpro?**

There is a lot of inputting information on initial set up, however the majority can be done by CSV file import.

**What problems is Simpro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In maintenance planner all of the upcoming services dates are automatically generated, so once the the first date has been put in and frequency, Simpro does the date sorting.

I like that this software incorporates the service and construction sides of our business.

**What do you dislike about Simpro?**

When we create a bid we add the materials cost in, and then when tech goes out and purchases supplies it adds to the material cost we already versus counting against it.

**Recommendations to others considering Simpro:**

It is a process, but one that is worth it. The staff flew out and trained our office for 2-3 days. These were full day training sessions. They also trained our field staff for an afternoon one of those days. But once you get it going, it simplifies sooo much for your business!

Keeps everything in one place. No more multiple spreadsheets. All staff on the same page.

We like the functionality of being able to tie in the mobile application to give us direct contact with our technicians on the road who as they are completing jobs giving us real-time info with what is happening on site. With the mobile app geostamping the location, we know when a technician is onsite, reducing the amount of time having to review chargeable hours. We also tie in our maintenance planner into our mobile app for the technicians to use for testing on-site

certain aspect around the asset print off could be better like the asset parent tree being able to export this would be nice

currently we have no issues with the product and any issues we have had have been quickly resolved

**What do you like best about Simpro?**

Simpro does almost everything I need it to. It acts as a one stop shop for our business operations and service management.

**What do you dislike about Simpro?**

There is so much in this software that it can somtimes be confusing or irrelavent. Much of this can be tailored on setup, but with all software like this there will always be things wthat were not made for you.

**Recommendations to others considering Simpro:**

Try finding your way around it first. Use the videos provided. Only use the one to one training once you are a little familiar with the layout.

**What problems is Simpro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Simpro helps us fill the gaps in our own processes and procedures. Engineers in the field can attach reports, notes, and images to the job while in the field, and they can be seen in the office almost instantly. Before we had to wait for an engineer to submit reports when they had their computer open, which could be days later, and they had forgotten half the information they needed to report. Having reports quickly means we can invoice the customer quickly. Having all the paperwork in one place makes us more robust and compliant.

**What do you like best about Simpro?**

I like how the software is easy to navigate. The support team is swift and helpful in responding. Updates come out regularly, and they listen to what you would like to be implemented.
We can track most of our company processes in the one convenient software. The visibility we have on our quotes compared to our actual costs is excellent and helpful in providing feedback to our team.

**What do you dislike about Simpro?**

The scheduling and job Gantt charts aren't exactly what we require, but we are making do with what we have available.

**Recommendations to others considering Simpro:**

Highly recommend it if you are still based on paper or excel documents, a great tool to help support your business.

**What problems is Simpro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We reduce the time it takes to compare the actual costs of a job to the quoted prices. We are reducing the amount of paper in the office, and everything is now accessible from any location. We have better visibility on which production areas are going over their budgeted costs, so we can now ask the questions and find out why, and prevent it from happening again on future projects.

Open API means we can manipulate and plug into other platforms to share data quickly

**What do you dislike about Simpro?**

Where do I start?

1. Open API doesn't extend across the supplier network - work orders have no API capability, Purchase Orders do, but they are effectively the same thing

2. BI doesn't refresh automatically. This is a killer as you need to wait 48 hours for changes to flow through

3. You can't retrospectively look at things. If I have transferred a request for claim into a progress claim, I can't ever go back to see the request for claim again

4. Deep diving into numbers is shocking.  If I look at a Job activity report and see $50k of materials, I should be able to click on that number and see a breakdown of exactly what makes up the $50k, with all the relevant info (invoice date and number, receipt date and number, PO number etc).  From an analysis and project management perspective, this is shocking.  I have to pull multiple reports to review a single number.  Hyperlinks that breakdown the number you click on should be available across all reports.  This will answer the "what's that number made up of" question, quickly, and accurately, every time 

5. If I have a date range on a report, if I click onto the job - I should be given the option to hold the date range that I had applied 

6. Cost to complete projected margins are a waste of time 

7. Everything by default should be shown excl. of GST.  ADDING GST should be an option. But no one analyses their business using GST. 

8. Not all reports have consistent formatting (ie having a comma to separate 000s)

This platform is easy to use with plenty of instructional information available online as well as technical support. It's really easy to get started with using the programme, but there are lots of additional features that can help streamline or troubleshoot issues within how the programme is being used as well as issues with the business runnings.

The difference between enterprise and service packages is huge. There are some features that would be great (such as vehicle fleet management) that would be handy, however the whole package isn't an appropriate purchase for a smaller business. It would be helpful if smalled "add on" packages could be added to  allow smalled businesses with less cashflow the opportunity to access these features as they are needed.

It's also a shame that you can't write notes on things like invoices that can be viewed from the list screen (i.e. Customer paying in 4 x $200 weekly installments, do not follow up until 4/4/21)

Customer follow up is easily managed by keeping up with different pending lists such as Jobs that need follow up, parts ordered or booking in.

There are many great features - easy quoting with easy conversion to jobs. Generation of purchase orders, view of stock, in the field access by the engineers. The connection with Xero is brilliant.

The CRM side is very basic, and there are no add-ins with services like Mailchimp and survey monkey to make it better. The lead conversion side doesn't make sense (they have to be classed as a 'customer to create a quote, but they are not a 'customer' until they buy something from you.

simPRO is a great all-rounder. Sure, somethings could be slicker; some bits are frustrating or missing, but it is a pretty fine all-round product, and we find it super valuable. I have not found anything to better it without having to move to separate systems. The beauty of simPRO is that it does do most of everything we need.

We like the workflow in simPRO. From start to finish, it makes sense. The ability to follow a quote, to a job, to an invoice, to payment is excellent. simPRO connects easily to our Quickbooks accounting software as well. The search function in simPRO makes everything easy to find and lookup. We also love how easy it is to work remotely using this cloud-based software.

Our technicians find the simPRO Mobile App that connects to the office software to be a bit glitchy. However, simPRO has recently made many improvements to the app, and it keeps getting better. The inventory tracking part of simPRO, although very logical and robust, can require a lot of labor to manage.

Make sure you have someone who is dedicated to making the implementation process a success. It may take some time to implement, but it is worth it.

We track purchases and know when they are received.

We can also track missed payments on invoices, with the ability to send invoices and statements to customers via email.

Scheduling is a breeze and is reasonably reliable, and jobs are easy to log time against in the mobile app.

**What do you dislike about Simpro?**

The system can be extremely slow, but after multiple contacts with support, it seems that, in their opinion, it is ok to wait 5-15 secs per page load. We use this software at multiple sites, with different service providers, and all users experience the same issues. This issue comes and goes throughout the day, but we have now accepted this as part of the system.

Support is very slow to respond, often waiting many days between submitting a request and getting a reply that I could have quickly just looked at the help guide online to receive, and the response does not add any value.

There is a feature request for SimPRO; however, this does not appear to influence the roadmap.

Reporting in SimPRO is not very well developed. If you need time-sensitive insights into your business, this is not going to help at all. Due to the lack of customisation in reporting, we are using a third-party solution to extract our data to a proper BI solution.

**Recommendations to others considering Simpro:**

Be aware that while it is rich in functionality, it doesn't do everything particularly well. It can be slow and cumbersome to use at times, and support could be a lot faster at responding to tickets. I usually expect 8 hours to first response but have had several days before the first response in several cases.

I like that simPRO is cloud-based - it's been amazing transitioning from working in the office to working at home. We can do everything we need to in the one program - from setting the job up, to scheduling and invoicing. We can track our assets and all our stock in the one software. It also has a heap of reports - if the data is entered correctly, you can track lots of different things.

**What do you dislike about Simpro?**

The mobile app is a little clunky, often doesn't sync so our Tech's waste time double handling the job and have to go back into their jobs to re-sync. The initial setup was hard. Our original trainer didn't understand what our company needed, and we wasted days setting up just for me to go back and re-do the setup.

**Recommendations to others considering Simpro:**

I'd recommend simPRO, once you have it set up correctly its easy to use. Like any software, it's only as good as the data you put in.

Well, where do I start? Firstly the support is normally not that great and on many issues we have logged no real solution has been sorted or we get a generic answer. The system does a lot and there are constantly new features added which is nice but many of the existing features do not work that well. I feel these issues should be sorted first before introducing new ones. Most of the suggestions on the ideas page have been there for years and there is no eta on when they might get sorted. SimPro has told us we are only using about 40% of the capability of the system but did nothing to offer training on how to get much more out of the system. The SimPro mobile app is flakey at best and given we have 50+ tradies using it this is a constant frustration point for them. We were told to move to Mobile given Connect was going to be end of life and have no end of issues with Mobile. It is weird that Connect is still available all these years later

It is easy for scheduling, PO's and invoicing. It helps keep everything in one place from history of client to plans and documents for a property. It is also direclty linked to our accoutning system so with a press of a button all the invoices are payments are transfered between the two which make the finance side of things alot easier. You can customize most things on to suit what your company needs from job stages to extra fees and even colors involved with every step. We also use simpro track which is direclty linked so we can see where the vechicles are at each point in time. It is also complatable with our mail supplier so the invoices come through daily, which saves us alot of time from having to manually add these PO's each day. You can invoice direclty from the simpro as well and make changes to your invoice and quote layout.

The site staff have continuous issues with the app crashing. Have contacted the support staff about issues several times. Most of the time have found that they are very helpful and do help with whatever is needed. Just can't really seem to get to the bottom of why the app crashes so often which somtimes casues for the site staff to lose notes or pictures on the job.

Jobs are easy to schedule in for the employees and we have a whole history on every site in the system. Health and safety stop checks before and after jobs can be added onto jobs which has been very helpful, especially during covid 19 alert levels. 
Since last year our main suppliers  softare works with simpro and all invoices are send through on a daily bases. Which saves us time from manually entering each invoice like we do with other suppliers.

It can take a long time to learn how to use it. The system is quite comprehensive so it can take time to understand how you need to set it up so it is right for your business. You need to spend the time in the early stages so that it works best for you.

**What do you like best about Simpro?**

Scheduling for our team works well and gave us a level of detail we never had before for our technicians and of course for works completed for customers.

**What do you dislike about Simpro?**

It is a bit exhausting trying to create the right reports. The initial training was good, but didn't provide the analytical knowledge needed to really utilize the full power of simPRO.

**What problems is Simpro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Billable hours capacity. Like many SMB's we focused on certain areas, but when we drilled down on some basic info we could see where we were going wrong.

The product is great to use, it helps to schedule our techs is a really easy manner. It is great for the techs as it gives them notifications straight away when something happens inside a job that is allocated

As it is a work in progress the only dislikes come as some good features haven't been added yet and the timeline to complete and implement then is slow

With all implimentations take the time to review everything before setting up

How easy it is to charge out jobs & make payment claims
The reporting system is good and has heaps of filters to help out.

**What do you dislike about Simpro?**

Unable to run a stock item that can change 
Esp: Cant add a seperate colour, I have to make up 1000 & 1000 of products which are the same price and code but different colours (We are a painting firm) thank goodness you can copy the one code.
Cant do a report on all item used for a single cost centre to send to a client. Esp: The actual labour and materials used on a job.

How to stop a charge up job from closing when you progress all the items used to the end of a month

**What do you like best about Simpro?**

I like the simplicity of the interface of Simpro. 
It has a lot of detailed reports, but it's easy for me to find what I'm looking for at the same time.

**What do you dislike about Simpro?**

There are certain features they take away in updates - not very often - but our company is based out of the US while SimPro is based out of Australia, and I've been told some of the updates are to make it more user friendly towards the Australian way of formatting. 
Not a huge turnoff, though.

**What problems is Simpro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Major problem-solving in the invoicing process within our company.
It's a huge benefit to be able to see all the invoices and jobs in a customers history.
