# Which property management system offers the most advanced tenant portal?

<p class="elv-tracking-normal elv-text-default elv-font-figtree elv-text-base elv-leading-base elv-font-normal" elv="true">I’m helping a few portfolio managers evaluate<a class="a a--md" elv="true" href="https://www.g2.com/categories/property-management"> property management software</a> and one of the features that keeps coming up is the <em>tenant portal</em> — it has to do more than just let tenants pay rent. The goal is secure self-service, communication, maintenance, documents, and multi-location consistency. I dug into G2 discussions, reviews, and feature summaries, and here’s what stood out: </p><ul>
<li>
<a class="a a--md" elv="true" href="https://www.g2.com/products/appfolio-property-manager/reviews"><strong>AppFolio:</strong></a> Often mentioned as having one of the more mature, responsive tenant portals. Tenants can submit maintenance requests, track progress, view account statements, sign documents, and interact with management in a polished UI.</li>
<li>
<a class="a a--md" elv="true" href="https://www.g2.com/products/entrata/reviews">Entrata:</a> Known for its full-featured resident (tenant) portal. Tenants can upload documents, pay online, communicate easily, and property managers can manage portals across large portfolios.</li>
<li>
<a class="a a--md" elv="true" href="https://www.g2.com/products/resman/reviews"><strong>ResMan:</strong></a> Especially good for multi-family or multi-unit properties. The tenant portal supports maintenance tracking, document storage, and communication features across units.</li>
</ul><p class="elv-tracking-normal elv-text-default elv-font-figtree elv-text-base elv-leading-base elv-font-normal" elv="true">Other names include Yardi Breeze, Innago, Buildium, and DoorLoop. What's been your experience with these tools? </p>

&lt;p&gt;If you’re using one of these systems (AppFolio, Entrata, ResMan, Buildium, DoorLoop, etc.), what has your experience been on the tenant side? Which portal features do your tenants actually use most, and which ones felt like “nice-to-have” but ended up unused?&lt;/p&gt;
