**What do you like best about SimplePractice?**

As a solo provider and just starting out, it was relatively easy to figure out how to use the functions. The most I needed in the beginning was scheduling and reminders and the rest I could take my time to figure out. Compared to another platform I have used it has been easy to use and keep my practice flowing.

**What do you dislike about SimplePractice?**

The spell check function is disappointing. I wish they would update this to be easier functionality. I also wish some of the reprots were easier to figure out. I want to run specific reprots for who still owes, who needs a refund, treatmetn plan updates.

**What problems is SimplePractice solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They have added the implementation of AI note taker, that is integrated into the platform fro easier access. They are also beginning to look into the billing side to offer full service EHR. I currently, use an outside person for this, but may consider looking into this service with Simple Practice if it can save me money and time. The AI note taker saves me so much time and makes doing my notes much easier than doing them manually or throguh other AI platforms I have used. The price for this added AI service is a bit higher than others but the ease of use and the fact that it is in the EHR makes a big difference.

**What do you like best about SimplePractice?**

I like several things about SimplePractice, such as the appointment reminders, Telehealth sessions, and the ease of handling files and documentation. It's really convenient that it sends appointment reminders to clients, so I don't have to, and the Telehealth feature lets me do virtual sessions easily without needing different software, and it's compliant. I love that all documentation and assessments can be stored in client files, and it’s easy to upload files onto the platform. The scored assessments are helpful, saving me from scoring by hand. The software-based EHR system makes it easy to store clients' notes, which I like most. Lastly, I love the new AI feature for recording and writing notes.

**What do you dislike about SimplePractice?**

I love that they have added an AI system to record and write notes for you, but since I am under a private practice company, I have no way of adding the feature unless my company adds it to their plan. It would be nice if there were a way for me to pay out of my pocket, but to somehow integrate it with the private practice I work at. I would like for SimplePractice to allow each user who is under a group practice plan to add a feature that they can pay for on their own.

**What problems is SimplePractice solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SimplePractice sends appointment reminders, stores client documentation and notes, and offers easy file uploads. It also has a chat system for communication and provides Telehealth for virtual sessions. The scored assessments make it easier than manually scoring.

**What do you like best about SimplePractice?**

Simple Practice has so many time-saving features that streamline systems and makes compliance and billing simple. The features I like the most are the intake templates that are offered, the ability to build your own, and also the option to auto-enroll clients into autopay.

**What do you dislike about SimplePractice?**

I do not like how there is not a chart option for Family Cases, there is only options for Adults, Minors, and Couples. This makes chart set up difficult.

**What problems is SimplePractice solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Simple Practice helps us save on expenses for a billing admin associate since the system keeps up with billing on it's own. It is easy to see what payments declined from auto pay and even gives multiple options for payment.

**What do you like best about SimplePractice?**

SimplePractice is easy to use and keeps everything in one place—scheduling, notes, billing, and telehealth. It saves me a ton of time. Implementation was fast and easy. SimplePractice makes scheduling, documentation, and billing seamless in one platform. The client portal is user-friendly, and telehealth integration works smoothly, which helps reduce administrative stress and improves the client experience.

**What do you dislike about SimplePractice?**

The reporting and customization features can feel limited, and some insurance-related workflows like claim rejections or secondary billing require extra steps that could be streamlined. I also dislike the fact that when claims are sent to deductible, the contractual write off is not automatic, this creates a great deal of extra work.

**What problems is SimplePractice solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The client portal is user-friendly, and telehealth integration works smoothly, which helps reduce administrative stress and improves the client experience. This allows us to easily send patient documentation and ensure we've captured all needed consents.

I like the easy to use the interface, both as a practitioner and for my clients. I also appreciate having the web browser and app for on the go

Sometimes the app can have bugs or auto generate things that make more work for me, especially with adjusting session times

They are constantly improving the app to make it’s just as good as the web browser

It's been several years since the practice went with a different EMR, although then there was no way to do treatment plans within SimplePractice which made paperwork and planning difficult.

**What do you like best about SimplePractice?**

The availble formatting for notes like "Wiley" makes treatment plan creation a much easier experience than it has been for me in the past. I enjoy the layout of Simple practice, it is very easy to navigate. Clients are able to contact you via messaging and you are able to conduct HIPPA approved virtual telehealth sessions.

**What do you dislike about SimplePractice?**

Simple practice undergoes many system uploads. At times these can interfere with how I am used to using it. That being said, the upgrades are good. And I am pleased with the final product. Sometimes there are system interruptions, which can be a hassell. But those are very rare.

**What problems is SimplePractice solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Treatment plan construction. Scheduling. Organzing case loads. Keeping up to date with required treatment plan reviewing. Client contact.

It has an updated operating system that feels modern.

**What do you dislike about SimplePractice?**

Too expensive and the base package is trash. You don't get the full basics which would be an appointment calendar that syncs and a private portal for communication and billing for direct payments.

**What problems is SimplePractice solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It solved no problems which is why I left the platform. The base product doesn't have the basics and the mid tier comes with junk I don't need like a Telehealth platform that is subpar to Zoom.

**What do you like best about SimplePractice?**

Very easy to udnerstand and use. I was able to quickly implement the program without any additional support, but support was offered continually throughout the process. I use it daily and take advanatge of the EHR and professional website. This is my first EHR as a private practice, but it much more user friendly than other EHR's I've used at other agencies.

**What do you dislike about SimplePractice?**

I'll complain about the cost beacuse the economy is currently rough for small business owners- not necessarily Simple Practice's fault. For a signle user and self-pay only it is reasonable, but if I ever grow it will require more financial investiment that I don't have (but hope to!).

It is a HIPAA Compliant space for all of my EHR needs: scheduling, docuementation, and messaging.

**What do you like best about SimplePractice?**

I love that SimplePractice has everything in one platform. It saves me a lot of time. I don't have to worry about clients getting appointment reminders. I also love that the system can load preview notes. I save a lot of time writing my notes. I love being able to create my own documents. I love that I can add homework to my clients using the portal. I love that I have also gotten referrals with the Monarch directory. Their customer support was also beneficial and solved my issue extremely fast.

**What do you dislike about SimplePractice?**

I wished that when I was sending documents I could unmark the documents all at once, instead of having to unmarked one by one. I wish creating a document could be easier and I had the option to add the signature feature to any documents that I wanted. I wished telehealth could have more features.

**What problems is SimplePractice solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I love how it has everything I need in one place as a Professional clinical counselor (EHR, appointment reminders, creating documents, uploading homework, Monarch directory). I love how it is HIPAA compliant and their messenger too. I feel safe using SimplePractice for that reason.

**What do you like best about SimplePractice?**

I love that I am able to utilize SimplePractice as a provisionally licensed LPC-A with a private practice. Everything from booking abilities, professional website, reports, case management, and accounting are provided for through this platform, and easy to use. I truly only use SimplePractice to manage my practice. I am forever grateful!

**What do you dislike about SimplePractice?**

I just wish I was able to get help with Track Your Hours without having to create a separate email/profile.

**What problems is SimplePractice solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With so much to manage, SimplePractice helps me be more efficient in my day to day business—so I can spend more time with clients and other things outside of work. Automated features for billing, generating invoices, and creating appointment reminders mean less labor for me and no need to hire an administrative employee. Billing is easy to generate and send to clients quickly, or on the go if needed. Because I am a full time school counselor in the public school setting, I'm limited on time and resources. Using this EHR gives me the option to run a virtual practice, eliminating the need for office related expenses like rent and utilities.

**What do you like best about SimplePractice?**

One of the best things is the ease of communication with clients. I really like that I can very easily send appointment reminders, new client paperwork, and other things quickly with one or two steps.
Billing, calendar, and client management is all integrated in one product.

**What do you dislike about SimplePractice?**

I don't like that I would have to pay for the highest level of features to upload my Google calendar. That seems ridiculous to me. I am a solo practitioner and I also work on one of the online therapy platforms. I really need that functionality but don't want to have to pay so much extra for it.

**What problems is SimplePractice solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Simple Practice is my total solution for my private practice. I use it for everything.
It does a lot of things for me, but the most important one is giving me a little peace of mind in keeping track of appointments, records, and billing. It's all in one place.

Overall, I don't feel that there are any downsides to using SimplePractice. There is a credit card fee associated with collecting payments, however, this is common for most electronic payment systems.

SimplePractice is always attempting to keep systems up-to-date, which allows the users to be up-to-date with HIPAA protocols and laws. SimplePractice is always offering continuing education learning opportunities, which benefits the growth and knowledge of SimplePractice and also the practitioners who use the EHR system.

**What do you like best about SimplePractice?**

I find it very user friendly and intuitive, from creating forms, to billing, and documentation. Filing claims for insurance is as easy as a few clicks, and remittances are easily transferred and allocated to client billing statements making the process extremely smooth. I also enjoy the ability to review previous notes or view the current treatment plan while filling out session notes.

**What do you dislike about SimplePractice?**

In creating forms (assessments or intake), it can be cumbersome to move around the items--often this takes a lot of time on longer forms. I wish I could be able to create a new field (question, radio button etc) anywhere in the form without having to drag it around to the right spot.

Tracking client billing and insurance claims; sending paperwork to clients for review or signature, and the new measures feature

I like how everything is in one place! I just started my private practice and love how I can do my documentation, billing, and insurance claims all in one spot. I was scared to deal with insurance, but simple practice helps keep things organized. I enjoy the free webinars that help me learn new tips and tricks as well.

**What do you dislike about SimplePractice?**

I wish the calendar syncing feature was included in the lower level plans. The cost of the highest level does not make sense for my practice and this feature would really be helpful, but not worth the cost.

**What problems is SimplePractice solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Simple practice solves my problem of not having a secretary to do my appointment reminders as well as setting up and creating links for telehealth visits.

I love how SimplePractice helps me save time with onboarding cilents, charting, and filing claims to insurance. This process used to take me way too long with no EHR, but now I'm able to stay caught up with tasks and feel less stressed.

**What do you dislike about SimplePractice?**

There are a few customizations I'd love to see in the future, such as e-faxing services, or sending time-zone specific reminders to my out-of-state clients in other time zones. Most of these things are not a deal-breaker for me, but would be helpful in the future.

It is definitely simple.  I have always used more complicated systems due to working in organizations with many regulatory bodies.  I like the simplicity of the forms and ability to revise and edit forms as needed.  Customer service is very responsive and with questions.

I wish there was more "live" onboarding that was included so that you can best learn the features of the system most suited for your needs

**What do you like best about SimplePractice?**

SimplePractice is so helpful for new private practice clinicians. With helpful videos and tips for use, it helps clinicians get the most out of an EMR. The customer support is great as well and always gets back to me when I have a question regarding use. I use SimplePractice every day to bill, write notes, and file insurance claims.

**What do you dislike about SimplePractice?**

One thing that I dislike about SimplePractice is the limited insurance claims that can be filed with the $69/month plan.

I love simple practice because the platform is very intuitive and because Simple Practice customer support team is effectively and efficiently responsive to my inquiries.  They also are always asking for input to be better. and they actually implement suggestions consistently.   I appreciate the ease of use and ease of integration

**What do you dislike about SimplePractice?**

I wish it were more cost effective for group practices, especially as practices grow.

**What problems is SimplePractice solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Hiring people who require outside supervision is now easier because outside supervisors can sign off on notes at no additional cost to my group practice.  That is very important to me.  Integration of scheduling and management of payments and ease of documentation and client portal  is terrific!

I love how user-friendly everything is, and how easy it is for clients to join sessions navigate their files and engage with their clinician! Customer service has been great as well!

So far, I don't have many issues. I do think some updates to the app to be used on iPad software could be helpful

Simple Practice makes it very easy to complete all necessary paperwork for clientele while staying organized. I love the reminders as they have been helpful to stay on top of necessary tasks and send birthday shout outs. They are also always adding new helpful features to stay above of the curve.

Downsides are the concerns brought about regarding HIPPA concerns based on their new policies for AI implementation.

The ability to send confidential files to clients, the was of uploading documents, and ease of platform navigation (once you learn it). Initially it took me some time to navigate where to input new client information but once I figure it out it was a breeze. I'm fairly new to this platform but will be learning how to set up my website next.

It could be more straightforward with the features and how to use them. It could be even more simplified.

It has all of the features needed for a mental health therapist to be able to manage their caseload, including: scheduling, reminders, online forms, notes, insurance billing, video sessions, treatment plans and reports.

It is easy to use and setup and I have found Customer Support to be very helpful.

**What do you dislike about SimplePractice?**

Wish that SimplePractice had reporting via office location and had the ability to have multiple virtural offices (for different states for example)

Access to features is not a-la-cart and because I work in a school I do not use the basic features but would like some of them offered on the premium package

**What do you like best about SimplePractice?**

Ease of use has been nice. This is my real first use with a platform outside of the non profit agency I worked for.  I am use to phone calls and in person chats so this was different as they prefer emails only and do not respond to any requests during weekends even when you need phone numbers to access for emergency purposes.

**What do you dislike about SimplePractice?**

OVER 36 months of monthly paid on time every month invoices as a fully respectable customer from August, 2019 to April, 2023. Then failure on my part in their eyes in the beginning resulted in loss of access to client phone numbers and necessary health care information and resulted in it not being my fault or my bank's fault but an issue on Simple Practice's end.

I received a new business debit card and attempted to enter well over 15 times. Didn't work. I kept trying to enter my new card number and it didn't work.  I was working with a customer service rep, (I don't want to point out her specifially, she probably had directives as well). I was told it is not an issue on simple practice's end.  I said I had no problems with any other business I had to enter my new information on. This went on for almost a month and she told me to contact my bank. Problem solving, called my bank, my bank said they have no denials and my bank wants to coordinate a call with her to resolve.  She hoped over that problem solving tactic. And I was shut down of any access to simple practice for an entire weekend and I had no idea how to enter my PERSONAL bank account information in to at least keep access to my client list and phone numbers.  After leaving email messages on the portal for help that weekend, I did not get a phone call, I got an email response on the portal in regard to my help request. I should enter a card that won't be denied.  

Long story short  I learned it was their fault. They didn't clear something they needed to with card company and they won't own it provide any compensation and client emergenies do not see of priority to them at all when someone is shutdown from access from their portal and it was not because they did not try. I have used my personal card number until today 6/23/2023 and entered the same card number i tried to enter well over 15 times and today it worked.  They were able to close my help request will really no customer service compensation and issues that can arise with Liability Insurance.

I asked them how they would compensate me and they closed my initial problem which was my debit card will not work and says denied. There are other issues resulting from my lack of access as well.

I feel that it isn't self-explanatory and the layout is confusing at times. To be fair, I've mainly utilized SP for intake paperwork, so I haven't spent time exploring its functionality.

I find the UI to be very user friendly and easy to navigate for new users. I've used several EHR softwares in the past and find Simple Practice to be one of the easiest to use as well as comprehensive for my therapy practice.

Some functions, like fees and invoices, are not useful or practical for me, someone who uses a separate platform for billing

The ease of it all. Adding new clients and information is a breeze. It makes billing insurance easy. Reminders and to-do lists help efficiency. Templates that are customizable ease paperwork.

I would love to have color-coded appointment options and a way to send mass emails to all clients. At present, we have to send emails individually, making announcements difficult.

Simple Practice is managing the full flow of my practice including documentation, scheduling, billing, telemed platform, a way to see an overview of financials, and keeping me organized by allowing me to put other meetings on my calendar that is not client appointments.

There are some features the software is missing withing larger organizations, however it has worked very well with the smaller organization I am a part of. I'd like to see improvements with the booking functions.

SP has a UI that kids easy and locks you in to using, however once they were bought out sand went public their vision changed from helping solo small practices

**Recommendations to others considering SimplePractice:**

Use not the same as it used to be, when I started with SP it was the dream EHR for solo/small practices, there were price increases of  $10 a year, however they were bought out went public and changed their focus DRASTICALLY by taking away simple features that helped us with our basic functional means such as calendar sync a simple website booking widget and non clinical staff they were moved from their$69 plan to a new a $99 a $30 jump and in order to add those features you can only purchase the $99 , needless to say I left tried other ehrs none of them compared so I am basically locked in to the $69 plan without features that helped too make my life easier , many therapist feel that this move was nothing more than a money grab almost predatory to be honest, many are leaving going to Therapy Notes and others but I have a feeling they will do what I had to do reactivate SP regretfully. It's not just use as therapist that this affects Jess our clients as well.

I couldn't utilize all of their services for my business so I needed a separate payment processing company in addition to their service.

There are many helpful features of this EHR. After using others, this is the one I have liked the most. It is very helpful to have note templates, schedule integration, calendar exportation, video conference, chat functions, and great visibility for all documentation.

Unfortunately, being able to use all of the wonderful features requires upgrades to the subscription that is often not worth the cost. There are alternative platforms that are free so it is not always worth upgrading for video and chat functions.

This platform has allowed streamlined documentation, form completion, and schedule management all in one place. It is simple to use and understand. This can also solve the problem of training difficulties as they offer their own.

**What do you like best about SimplePractice?**

I like the APP and using voice to text in the app for notes.  I also really like the calendar sync feature and the ability to be paperless with client forms.  The calendar sync is better than the last company I used but also significantly less expensive.  I am now shopping around again and finding that their offering is the most expensive, and the services I need (calendar, notes, forms, billing) are all pretty similar.  Not everyone else has an app, and I haven't had a chance to review the apps other companies have.

**What do you dislike about SimplePractice?**

They have added many new features I don't need.  For instance, a template website I  don't need and a directory with horrible SEO.  They are restructuring their pricing starting March 2022 so that the only way I can continue to use calendar sync and have an associate use the software is to pay the highest tier.  It is a 60% price increase to continue using this EHR!  Over 1000 people have complained in their Facebook community group, but the new owners don't seem to care.

**What problems is SimplePractice solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Pre-Covid I enjoyed a paperless office, but now that most of my sessions are telehealth,  the ability to have clients electronically sign consent for therapy forms is essential.  Simple Practice is the EHR (Electronic Health Record) site I upgraded to in 2018, and I have been happy with it.  I was their loudest cheerleader to anyone who asked.  I appreciate the ease of use, the convenience of having my client files at the tip of my fingers, and how seamlessly the calendar syncs with my iCal.  I am so frustrated and disappointed to have to switch to another EHR, but if they don't add some additional options for current customers, I will have no choice.  I am unwilling to pay for a host of services I do not need or want.  It is a hassle to change EHRs, so I have difficulty recommending this company.

**What do you like best about SimplePractice?**

I love how Simple Practice has its forms set up!  They are easy to edit to my specification and there are so many to choose from. Each document can be sent individually and clients are ablate add their information and signatures easily.  None of these options were available in my previous software or at least not easily enough to figure out.  True to their name they have made it simple. I also really love the messaging feature.  It saves me time trying to find the clients name and number in my phone.

**What do you dislike about SimplePractice?**

The search bot is fairly useless.  After a 2 +years, I am still working on my learning curve?  The interface for working through billing that isn't automated is cumbersome. I don't have a lot of time to fumble around the site trying to learn it or to watch videos trying to learn the system.  I want quick, concise answers to simple questions. The help desk usually is quick to answer and has quick, straightforward solutions that are serviceable.  Some of them are not. 
The video platform is fussy and lacking in some features that would be beneficial. If clients have poor internet or older devices, I find I have to use another platform for them. I have considered switching again, but I'm not sure if there is anything better or cheaper.
They are having a lot of problems with their system sending claims and how the claims are adjusted when they come in.  Someone from their team needs to look at the facebook page and hear the complaints.

**Recommendations to others considering SimplePractice:**

Its better than Theranest, but I am interested in what might be better than Simple Practice. It has been another year and I still feel like there has to be something better.  It's just too much bandwidth to think about switching.

**What problems is SimplePractice solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My previous software was holding me hostage.  There was no easy way to switch.  SP has tried to help as much as possible.  There were a few glitches in client data but that is to be expected.  I am hoping once insurance billing is ready to go it will streamline my billing and charging services.  I don't have to hunt to find out which notes or other administrative tasks I have to finish.( I still have to hunt to find out which clients owe money and can't dismiss those who I will never be collected from.)  Working with families is cumbersome as is couples or groups.
