I've been using Digital Ocean for about 7-8 years. I've recommended it many times. In terms of freedom, it's so far superior to my previous web hosting options (BlueHost, HostGator etc.). It's also brilliant in terms of monitoring (checking uptime for my droplets) and the UI/UX is generally very easy to use and navigate. Pricing is pretty straightforward and easy to understand. The biggest challenge is probably the onboarding and learning to get set up. That said, the number of resources and learning documents provided by Digital Ocean is unbeatable. Digital ocean is very easy to implement, and developer friendly paltform. The pricing is startghtforward and affordable as well. The platform makes it easy to deploy servers, databases and apps without complex configuration. Databases on DigitalOcean are considered somewhat expensive, especially for small projects.
