## Wiki.js Reviews
  ### 1. Flexible Editors and a Clean UI for Self-Hosted Documentation

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ross S. | Network Engineer II, Telecommunications, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 30, 2026

**What do you like best about Wiki.js?**

Wiki.js enables our workgroups to create and organize documentation, which ultimately makes it easier for us to do our jobs. I really like the web UI layout, and the option to choose between different editors based on personal preference is a big deal for my user group. It's free, open sources software that I can host myself too. I can own my data.

**What do you dislike about Wiki.js?**

I feel like communication from the developer is lacking. I’d really like a clearer, more detailed way to understand where the project is headed in the future, and what the plans and priorities are moving forward.

**What problems is Wiki.js solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Wiki.js has provided a clean and effective means for users to create and organize information that can be shared with others. Being a FOSS project, the value provided is very high - anyone can spin up a Wiki.js server and start using it.

  ### 2. Great for Team Knowledge Sharing, but Page Management Lacks Appeal

**Reviewed Date:** October 16, 2025

**What do you like best about Wiki.js?**

Bringing all of a team's knowledge together in one place

**What do you dislike about Wiki.js?**

Page management isn't that interesting. It could be better developed in terms of UI/UX.

**What problems is Wiki.js solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Bringing all the team's knowledge together in a single environment greatly facilitates productivity.

  ### 3. Open Source WIKI

3. Few updates are released.

**What problems is Wiki.js solving and how is that benefiting you?**

At my company, we maintain internal Standard Operating Guides. Previously, we managed these guides using PDFs, but updating them was a time-consuming process, and it was often difficult for end-users to find the information they needed.

  ### 4. Fantastic tool for documenting hardware and software configurations for customers

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Zach S. | Sole-Proprietor, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 21, 2022

**What do you like best about Wiki.js?**

The best "feature" for me is the ability to self-host the software to maximize the security of my clients' confidential data. Composing pages using Markdown helps keep formatting consistent and less time-consuming. The software has a good variety of customization options and supports integrations with other software used internally. Another must-have is dark mode, which Wiki.js has done well. Being an open-source product, submitting bug fixes and requesting features is easy - so is adding features on your own.

**What do you dislike about Wiki.js?**

There are a few UI quirks that take getting used to, although improvements and features are being added from time to time that minimizes these relatively minor issues.

**Recommendations to others considering Wiki.js:**

Use the containerized version to make the initial setup painless. This also makes upgrades easy to roll back if something goes wrong.

**What problems is Wiki.js solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Wiki.js serves as a central repository for internal processes, hardware/software documentation, and a reference for the configuration of solutions we provide for our clients. Since Wiki.js supports multiple authentication methods, we can also allow clients to access portions of the site as required.
